Hey guys. So sorry this chapter is a bit shorter, but I am going to be updating more frequently now, I PROMISE. This chapter is sad but turns sweet. I promise you Em and Maya will get a break soon. Until then keep hanging in there.

Emily's POV

"What... What are you talking about?" I gasped, falling to my knees in tears. "I... I went in... For a check up... They wanted to see how I was doing since I gave birth... And I..." she stuttered, tears forming in her eyes as well. I grabbed her hand and hugged her, cradling her in my arms and kissing her head softly as tears fell from both our eyes. "God, what are we gonna do?" I choked. Maya sniffed and clung tighter to me. "I'm... I'm sorry..." Maya whispered. "What are you talking about?" I asked. "I... I found out two years ago..." she coughed. "And you're just now telling me?" I hadn't meant to sound so harsh. "I... I stopped responding to treatments because they didn't work and... Then I met you and I didn't have the heart to ever tell you," she explained, crying even harder. "How could you not tell me?" I snapped. "Emily... I'm... I'm sorry..." she started but I stopped her. "You're sorry? Did you ever think maybe if you were going to die you shouldn't have let me fall in love with you in the first place?" I yelled. As soon as the words were out of m mouth I instantly regretted it, and the look that came across Maya's face made it worse. "Maybe I shouldn't have," her words hurt worse than fire. "Maya I'm sorry, I-" I started but she cut me off. "I'm leaving. I'm going to stay with my brother," she snapped. "Maya stop, I didn't mean to-" I was again interrupted. "You didn't mean to? Well you did. I think we both need a night or two to cool down," she sighed. She walked into the living room. "Maya... I..." I started but stopped. "You what?" she asked, tears in her eyes again. "I... I love you," I whispered. The only answer I got was the slamming of the front door and the sound of tires on the road.

Maya's POV

I wiped away tears as I pulled into my brother's driveway. "Eric?" I called as I opened the door. "Maya! What are you doing here?" I heard the voice of his wife, Julia. "Oh... My god... What's wrong?" she asked, running to my side and wiping my tears. "I... I told Emily about-" I started but she finished for me. "The cancer," she sighed. I nodded. "Did she get mad that you hid it?" she asked. I nodded again and broke down in tears. "Maya?" I heard Eric's voice. "Eric... She told Emily," Julia explained. "Oh... My gosh Maya come here," he sighed, pulling me into a hug. "Maya... You can't blame her for being mad-" he started. "Of course I can! She freaked out on me!" I snapped. "Well... Give her a little room to be shocked, she's in love with you and you guys are married. You've been together for two years. She's just found out that her wife has an incurable disease and she's probably terrified and scared that she's going to loose you," Eric explained. I thought about his words, and realized he was right. "I... I hate it when you're right," I sighed. "You should go and talk to her. She's probably worried sick," he instructed. "Alright... I'll call you if I need anything," I called as I ran out to my car and jumped inside, starting the drive back home. When I got there I sighed when I walked in the door. My sigh turned into a scream as I saw what was in front of me.

Emily's POV

I started panicking when Maya was out of sight. I was in tears and grasping my arms. Maya had leukemia. Leukemia. My uncle had died of leukemia. I couldn't loose Maya that way. I walked upstairs to Alison's room and felt my heart break as I looked at the sleeping child. She was so much like Maya. I walked into the bathroom and saw my razor. I hadn't touched it in so long. I picked it up and gently ran it along my skin, making a light cut. The pain was a shock, but it helped me to forget my emotional pain for a moment. I made another cut, deeper this time. I progressed into the living room, continuing to cut deeper and deeper until I was loosing vision. I dropped the blood covered razor and fell to my knees as blackness clouded my eyes. I looked up and saw the picture of Maya and me at our weeding. And then it was black.

I woke up to a small white room in an uncomfortable bed. "Emily?" I heard Maya's voice and looked over to see her in another bed beside me. "Maya... I'm... I'm sorry I got mad..." I started but she held up her hand. "I should have told you. I'm... I'm sorry too," she apologized. I reached out my hand and she held it tightly. "So I guess I'm the crazy one?" I asked. "No. I'll be crazy tomorrow," Maya laughed through a teary sigh. I smiled and wiped away a few stray tears. Suddenly our beds were being pushed closer together. I didn't even have to look to know it was Hanna and Spencer. "Thanks guys," I laughed. "Of course," Hanna smiled. "I love you," I whispered to Maya. "I love you too," she replied. I placed a soft kiss on her lips and leaned back in my bed. "Guess we're both a little messed up huh?" I laughed. Maya sighed. "Yeah, I guess so," she laughed, kissing my hand as we fell into a deep sleep.
