Christmas continues….
Finn stared out the window, marveling at the falling snow, the day had been perfect, after baking cookies with the girls, they had stayed in and watched Christmas movies together. Now it was evening and Rachel was getting Sophie to bed whilst he waited for his mom "Hey mom" Finn greeted Carole as she walked into the front room. "Thanks for this"
"No don't worry about it, Burt's with Leroy and Hiram and I'm always happy to see Sophie, where is she?"
"She's in her room with Rachel, we're actually just getting her to sleep, make yourself at home and we'll be out in a min"
"Ok" Carole wondered off to the kitchen whilst Finn went back to Sophie's room, he opened the door to see Rachel brushing Sophie's hair on the end of the bed
"Daddy" Sophie said softly. Rachel looked up and smiled before placing the brush down on the side and moving to pull Sophie's bed sheets back
"Ok come on now miss, you have to get into bed"
"But I don't want to" Sophie stuck out her bottom lip and looked at Finn for backup. Finn wasn't getting involved though
"Sophie" Rachel said again "come on, if you don't go to bed then Santa won't stop here because he knows you're not sleeping" Sophie looked at Finn to see if Rachel was bluffing but Finn nodded
"She right Sophie"
"But can I have a story and then I'll go" she asked Rachel
"Yeah, what do you want?" Sophie ran over to the bookshelf and pulled out one of her favorites 'guess how much I love you' she carried it off and ran into her tee tent, looking at Finn and Rachel stood in her room
"Come on daddy!" Finn looked at Rachel, she just smiled, she knew she wasn't welcome now and Finn could take over. Finn gave her a quick kiss on the lips and mumbled quietly to her
"I'm sorry" Rachel just nodded to let him know it was ok; he pulled his shoes off and climbed on top of the pillows. Lying down next to Sophie. Rachel moved Sophie's bed covers back before making her way to the door
"Rachie?" Rachel turned around and looked at the pair
"Yes"
"Where you going? You can read with us"
"I-I erm ok" Sophie climbed out and ran over to take Rachel's hand
"Come inside" she pulled Rachel over "here you can use my pillow"
"Thank you" Rachel lay down next to Sophie and felt overcome with joy as she handed her the book
"You can read the first page, and then daddy can do the next one"
"Ok" Rachel opened the book before side glancing at Finn and sending him a smile.
"She's asleep," said Rachel as herself and Finn walked into the lounge to see Carole.
"Oh good, so are you two off now?"
"Yeah we'll be back in about an hour, if she wakes up don't let her out of that room ok" Finn said
"Yes of course, stop worrying Finn, go on" the both put their coats on and headed out of the front door. They hailed a cab and climbed in.
"I can't believe what just happened"
"I told you she'd come around, it's just like it was before Rach" Finn kissed her lips and ran his hand over her flat abdomen, stroking it softly. Rachel placed her hand over his and just enjoyed the silence for a moment before turning to look at Finn "what?"
"I'm never going to stop loving you, you know that?" she said
"I know, I'll never stop loving you"
"What even when I weigh a hundred pounds more, I'm fat and I'm crying all the time"
"You won't be fat, you'll be pregnant, and there's a huge difference. And you cry all the time now anyway"
"I suppose I do"
"Like a baby"
"Don't rub it in" Rachel said smacking him playfully. "Anyway on more important matters, you still didn't text me any suggestions for our honeymoon"
"Babe I don't care so long as there's a bed" Finn grinned like a fool leaning down to kiss Rachel gently.
"Finn I can't decide on my own, what if you hate where I choose"
"I won't hate where you choose, Rachel I'm marrying you, I'm happy enough"
"Well do you even want to go on a honeymoon?"
"Of course I do, two weeks in bed with you sounds like heaven" Rachel blushed "but if you don't want to go, we can wait until the baby's born? Then we can get away just me and you"
"No no it won't be a real honeymoon if we don't do it after the wedding and besides I'm already fretting about leaving Sophie for two weeks. You think I'd leave our newborn?" Finn smiled kissing Rachel's forehead
"You're a great mom you know that?"
"I think I could get used to hearing it more often" she smirked, placing a kiss on Finns lips, it grew a little deeper and before they knew it, Finn has his hand tangled in her hair as Rachel's back was pushed against the cab door. Her body began to set a light with the fire burning in her core, Finns other hand began to travel up the side of her leg, Rachel's breath catching in her throat as the tips of his fingers came under her dress, just as the cab came to a holt, signaling they were there. Reluctantly he pulled off of her and paid the driver whilst Rachel began to climb out of the cab.
"Woah woah wait" Finn said as he rushed over to her door to help her out "be careful" Rachel looked at him confused
"Finn I've climbed out of plenty of cabs before"
"Yeah but you've never been pregnant and climbing out of a cab with ice all over the place before. Seriously babe it's dangerous"
"No you're deluded, what do you think I did whilst you were away?"
"Rach will you just let me help you" Finn said wrapping his arm around her waist, she smiled burying her face into his side enjoying the feeling of safety he gave her. They walked up to the house ahead of them together and Finn knocked on the door, less than a minute later the door opened and they were greeted by a familiar happy face.
"Finn, Rachel come in, I was wondering when you were coming"
"Sorry we were putting Sophie to bed" Finn said squeezing Rachel's side gently. "Kind of set us back a little"
"No no don't worry about it, come in" she said stepping to the side welcoming them into her home. Rachel squealed a little with excitement when she could hear the noise coming from the back of the house. "They're in the back" she let go of Finn and walked ahead to the back room
"Aw look at them," Rachel cooed over the golden retriever puppy's playing in the pen. "Can we take all of them?" She asked jokingly to Finn. He just smiled catching up to her and kissing the side of her head.
"Nope just the one we chose, where is he?" Finn asked looking around at the puppies. The lady smiled climbing in the pen to lift up the puppy playing with a chew toy at the back of the pack
"Here he is" she said handing him to Rachel whilst she grabbed the bag set up on the table and gave it to Finn. "In there is a blanket that smells of his mom and the other pups, just so he feels comfortable. Some toys, a bag of puppy food, his pedigree papers and some puppy pads. I've fully trained them to wee on the pads so you won't have a mess everywhere erm I think that's about it. Your daughter's going to love him, do you have a name?"
"Nope no name yet, we'll let Sophie name him" Rachel said holding him closer to her chest "Thank you for all of this, it really is great" the puppy began to fidget and wriggle around in her arms, wagging his tail trying to lick her mouth and face. Rachel moved her face away making him only more persistent in licking her. "Ok ok I love you to, I love you to" she said trying to move him away from her face. She looked up at Finn pulling a bit of a disgusted face, just to see him laughing at her
"I think he likes you"
"Yeah you think"
"He's quiet a lazy puppy some times, he likes to sleep a lot" the woman said, Rachel let out a laugh and looked at Finn
"Perfect for Soph then. I suppose we should get him home" Finn nodded and lifted the bag up
"Thank you for everything, we'll send you some pictures so you know he's got on"
"Yeah that would be great Thank you" they made their way to the front door and got back into the cab waiting for them outside still.
"Daddy! Daddy! Rachie. Wake up. ITS CHRISTMAS!" Sophie shouted excitedly whilst jumping up and down on the bed. Finn made what could only be described as grunts in his sleepy haze.
"Sophie calm down" he said gently before rubbing his eyes and looking over at Rachel who had draped her arm over her face in an attempt to block Sophie out. To say neither of them had, had any sleep was an understatement; they had been up all night with the puppy that was currently asleep in their en suit bathroom. "Merry Christmas Soph" Finn said gently before leaning over and kissing Rachel's temple. "Baby I'm going to go and start breakfast with Sophie, you lie in"
"No I'm up" Rachel said very unconvincingly. She opened her eyes and saw a very giddy Sophie shaking with excitement "merry Christmas soph"
"Merry Christmas! Can we open presents now?" Finn shook his head
"You know the rule Mrs. No opening presents until nana and pops get here"
"But daddyyyyy" Sophie said looking at Finn with a pout
"Nope, no, come on we can make breakfast together" Sophie knew she wasn't getting anywhere with Finn and strategically climbed under the covers to cuddle into Rachel's side, Rachel kissed the top of her head and hugged her closer.
"Rachie maybe I can open just one present with you. I really want to see what Santa brought me," Sophie said sweetly, looking at her with innocent brown eyes. Rachel couldn't help but give in to her
"Well..." She looked over at Finn and grinned, "maybe we could have a look at one" Finn shook his head and frowned at Rachel
"Rach but I want to wait for my parents so we can spend Christmas morning with them" Rachel pouted at him and kissed the top of Sophie's head
"Baby girl why don't you go and get rooroo and we'll go and see what Santa brought you"
"Ok" Sophie said excitedly jumping off of the bed and running to her room. Rachel climbed over in the bed and straddled Finns lap
"Come on finny we have to let her open them now"
"But my mom i-" Rachel placed her finger on his lips
"Your mom will understand that this is Sophie's first Christmas with us and today is her day, she's the child, not us. I know you want to spend Christmas morning with your mom like you have every year, but it's not your day anymore baby, it's your daughters" Finn sighed knowing she was right. "We need to start making new traditions for us, because this is our family now" she leaned over and kissed his lips tenderly before Sophie came running into the room.
"Let's go let's go" both Finn and Rachel climbed out of bed following her down the hallway and into the lounge, Sophie jumped up and down with excitement when she saw the piles of presents under the tree "HE CAME, HE CAME!" She shouted. "Please can I open them daddy please please"
"Oh I suppose so," Finn said sarcastically. Rachel smiled leaning up to kiss his cheek, before stopping and remembering something
"Oh you two start, I'm just going to go to the bathroom," Rachel said looking at Finn with wide eyes
"Oh right yes ok" she walked down the hallway and back to the en suit. Slowly opening the door she looked around the room and slid in. The puppy fast asleep next to the shower didn't even move when he heard her come in. Rachel knelt down on the floor and ran a hand over his fur. Lazily he yawned and took in his surroundings before moving to sleep on Rachel's lap.
"Oh now you can sleep? But at 2am you're wide awake" she sat there stroking him for a moment before grabbing the red box and ribbon off the side, carefully she tied a bow around the puppy's neck loosely and lifted him up, placing him in the gift box with holes in, he looked up at her for a moment before getting comfortable and lying down with his new blanket in the spacious box. Rachel smiled putting the lid on, before carrying him out to the lounge. Sophie was well into ripping open her 3rd present when Rachel casually placed the box under the tree without her noticing. She sat down on the floor between Finns legs and rested her head on his chest.
"Rachie look what I got!" Sophie held up the two outfits they'd bought for her to dress her Annabelle doll in
"Wow you're a lucky girl" Rachel turned to Finn and nuzzled her face close to his, speaking only above a whisper "so where are my presents?"
"You'll get them tonight, they're something I'd rather give you in private, something special. Where's mine?"
"Oh you'll get mine tonight too, it's not something I can really give you in front of others" Finn smirked before his eyes glanced at her lips, he couldn't help himself, he pulled Rachel into a hard passionate kiss. Sophie opened the other few presents and was particularly confused when she came across a pet's bed.
"What's this?" She asked confused, just as the front doorbell rang. Finn pulled apart from Rachel and jumped up to get it. Carole, Burt, Leroy and Hiram greeted him
"I think it's a pets bed sweetie, for you to keep your teddy animals in" Rachel turned to look at all of them coming over to sit on the couches "merry Christmas you guys" Sophie stared at it for a moment but merely shrugged her shoulders at the pet bed and smiled.
"Merry Christmas" Sophie shouted from her spot under the tree. Leroy and Carole began to fuss over her, making Sophie push them away. Rachel wasn't even watching them; she was too busy focusing on the red box that was now starting to move slightly.
"Hey soph what about that one?" Sophie turned around and looked at the present, she scooted over to it and read the label saying 'happy Christmas Sophie. From Santa', with a smile from ear to ear, Sophie pulled the box lid off and gasped
"ITS A PUPPY!" The puppy now excited with Sophie's excitement began to jump up in the box and wag his tail
"What? No way!" Finn said humoring her
"I got a puppy," Sophie said excitedly as Finn helped her pull the puppy out of the box "is it a boy of a girl?"
"Looks like it's a boy"
"What are you going to call him?" Rachel asked. Sophie looked at the puppy for a while, whilst he licked her hands and tried to reach her face.
"Erm shadow"
"Shadow? But soph he's golden"
"Yeah but I want him to follow me around and be my new best friend, and when I follow daddy around he say 'oh look I've got a new shadow' so the puppy can be my shadow" Rachel smiled, it was actually a good name, she thought Sophie might name him fluffy or sparkles.
"That's a great name," Finn said, patting shadow who was now in a fight with the wrapping paper on the floor.
"Can I take him to uncle Kurt's?"
"Sure baby, come on why don't we all go and eat breakfast? And get something for shadow?" Rachel said
"Sounds great" Burt and Hiram said in unison
"Hey why didn't Kurt and Blaine come?" Finn asked. Burt shrugged, picking up some of the odd wrapping paper
"Apparently he and Blaine have some big surprise, and they have to get everything ready for dinner"
"Oh ok"
"Why did everyone leave?" Sophie asked with a slight pout
"Because they have to go and get ready for Christmas dinner at your uncles" Rachel was currently doing Sophie's hair, and had already dressed her in her new red dress. Shadow sat on the bed watching the two whilst playing with a teddy of Sophie's. "You're all done sweetie"
"Can I go play with shadow and my toys?"
"Of course just don't mess your dress or hair"
"I won't" Sophie said running out of the room with an excited shadow running after her barking. Rachel wandered through to her bedroom to find Finn sat at the edge of the bed flicking through his phone. Rachel walked over slowly and pulled it out of his hands, causing him to look up. She threw it on the bed behind him and straddled his lap.
"What was that about?" Finn asked confused whilst placing his hands on either side of her waist. Rachel leaned forward inhaling the intoxicating smell that was Finn. She attached her lips to his and opened her robe to show him her lacy nighty once again. Finn kissed her harshly before a barking caused them both to pull apart.
"Hey buddy, you want to play?" Finn asked, moving Rachel off of his lap and kneeling down on the floor to play. Rachel watched in disbelief on how she just got sold out for a dog.
"Finn are you joking?"
"What? I like dogs and it wasn't as if we we're guna have sex"
"And how do you know that?"
"Because we never have sex with Sophie around"
"Well obviously!" Rachel stated as a matter of fact. She began to take her nighty off and pull on her dress, soon taking Finns attention off of the puppy. Rachel looked at herself in the long mirror side on, running a hand over her abdomen. She was so fixed on it she jumped slightly when she felt Finns hands on her
"I can't wait, until you start to show"
"More like when I start to get fat"
"They're two very different things and fat is something you're not. You're beautiful" Rachel looked his in the eyes through the mirror.
"Really?" She asked uncertain
"What? Are you kidding me" Finn placed his hands on her abdomen pulled her back closer to him "I've always thought you were beautiful but right now carrying out baby. I didn't know how you could be more beautiful to me. But you are in every possible way" Rachel turned in his arms as he kissed the tip of her nose gently.
"Merry Christmas!" Blaine said as he greeted them at the door
"Merry Christmas!" All three shouted in unison. Sophie jumped up and down trying to get his attention
"Uncle Blaine! Uncle Blaine guess what Santa bought me...a puppy!" She gestured to the puppy in Rachel's arms trying to lick her face.
"Wow, uncle Kurt's going to be so happy" Blaine said with a knowing smirk.
"How are you guys?"
"We're good, how was the trip dude?"
"Oh yeah it was great, was nice to see my parents" Rachel placed shadow down on the floor but he simply sat there, clearly not enjoying the new surroundings
"Come on shadow" Finn said giving him a little nudge with his foot. "Let go" the puppy didn't move but instead barked slightly and scooted his bum back slightly. Finn sighed and picked him up. "He's just a little scared" Sophie came running back into the room with a pout on her face
"Daddy put him down so I can play with him"
"He's just a little nervous at the moment soph, why don't we take him to the lounge so you can sit down with him"
"Ok" everyone made their way to the lounge where they found Santana, Finns parents and Rachel's. Blaine's had gone to his sisters so, it would just be them. "Look at my puppy!" Sophie shouted as Finn carried shadow into the room. He placed him down and he walked over to
Sophie. Everyone fussed over shadow whilst Sophie sat there with him on her lap. Blaine clapped his hands together loudly to get everyone's attention, breaking their focus from Sophie and the puppy
"Hey guys" everyone turned to look at him "ok now that you're all here. Me and Kurt have something, something pretty big that we want to share with all of you"
"Where is Kurt?" Rachel asked from the spot on the couch next to Finn. Blaine smiled and held a hand up
"Well that's the surprise. Ok we need everyone to stay calm and quiet for this ok" everyone began to nod "Kurt do you want to come in?" Kurt appeared in the doorway holding a small vietnamese baby no older than 10 months, looking terrified and excited all in one. Everyone began to gasp and stand up from his or her seats when they realized what was in his arms
"Everyone, we'd like you to meet our daughter Elizabeth Hummel-Anderson" Burt's face feel blank with tears as he stepped forward
"After your mom?"
"Yeah. We figured we could call her Eliza for short" everyone began to coo over her, Rachel was in shock
"When? When did this happen?" Kurt and Blaine looked at each other with a smile before Blaine began to explain
"We weren't at my parents this past week, we went to get Eliza"
"You went to China!" Both the pair nodded in unison
"We found out we were getting her just after the wedding but we decided to keep it a secret and she's Vietnamese. so yeah we went to Vietnam"
"She's beautiful," Carole said
"Do you want to hold her?" Kurt handed her over gently. Carole sat down in an armchair with Burt at the side, both cooing over Elizabeth. Finn patted Blaine's shoulder and smiled
"She's a cutie you guys, how old is she?"
"She's 8 months"
"How are you finding it?" Hiram asked
"Terrifying" said Kurt with a nod from Blaine. Both Hiram and Leroy laughed
"Yep that's how we felt with Rachel. It's hard, you don't have the 9 months to prepare and feel emotionally ready"
"We just feel like we don't know what we're doing, I'm so happy you all know now. You can tell us everything" Kurt and Leroy got into a conversation whilst Sophie stood up and walked over to her nana holding Elizabeth.
"She's cute" Sophie said simply, Rachel gave Finns hand a little hopeful squeeze, seeing Sophie with the baby. Elizabeth looked up at her and stared before smiling and gurgling. "She likes me," Sophie said proudly
"Yeah I think she does. She must know you're her cousin"
"Nana I don't think she does, she's just a baby" Sophie said as a matter of fact "baby's aren't smart"
"Well I think she's knows who you are" Carole looked over at Finn and Rachel smiling "do you want a hold?" Rachel nodded all to eagerly and stood up taking Eliza before sitting down with her next to Finn
"Hello cutie. I'm your auntie Rachel and this goof ball is your uncle Finn"
"We sometimes call him blubber" added Santana. Eliza stared at them wide eyed before reaching forward to grab Rachel's necklace. Rachel laughed and gave her a gentle kiss on the head; Finn took her hand and smiled. He glanced over at Sophie who was sat on the end of the couch watching the three with a look that he didn't like. He could see her eyes flitting from Eliza to Rachel. Rachel turned to look at Sophie and smiled. "Hey sweetie you want to hold her?" Sophie shook her head, all of a sudden becoming very interested with a spot on the couch. Rachel knew what was happening, Sophie was getting jealous and she didn't like it. She handed Eliza to Finn and gestured for Sophie to come over to her. Santana sat on the other side of Finn playing peek a boo with her. Sophie slowly walked over and climbed onto Rachel's lap, facing her with her head resting on her chest. Finn smiled at the two
"What do you think Sophie? Should we get one?"
"One what?" Sophie asked confused
"A baby, should me and Rachel get a baby?" Finn asked with a grin, testing the water to see what she said
"No" Sophie said firmly. She wrapped her arms around Rachel and pouted her lip "we don't need a baby" Rachel kissed the top of her head and rubbed her back
"Hey sweetie come on, daddy's just joking" Rachel looked at Finn "Finn don't wind her up"
"I'm not winding her up, it was a serious question"
"You can see she doesn't like it"
"You're both mine," Sophie said cutting into the conversation.
"We know, daddy's just being silly"
"Do you want to have a hold?" Finn asked her. Sophie shook her head and kept a firm grip on Rachel. "You sure?" She nodded before adverting her gaze to Eliza who was looking at her and Rachel
"Hey she's looking at us" Rachel smiled and pouted her lip.
"Soph why don't you sit on daddy's lap so I can have another little cuddle with her"
"Who's to say I'm finished?" said Finn. Sophie watched the two and climbed off of Rachel's lap, moving onto the floor with Shadow, whilst Rachel took the baby
"Aren't you a pretty girl, yes you are!" Eliza stood up on Rachel's lap. Holding Rachel's hands firmly. "I could just eat you up" she gurgled and bounced on her legs happily.
"You're a natural," Carole said from the other couch "she loves you" Rachel glanced at Santana who smirked to herself, but Rachel merely shrugged her shoulders and smiled.
"I guess I just love baby's, and children" Eliza began to try and turn in Rachel arms, looking around the room "I think someone wants her daddy's" Blaine and Kurt both rushed over, making Eliza smile and reach out for them "there they are baby girl" Blaine lifted her, looking over a Kurt.
"Maybe we should feed her?"
"When did she last eat?"
"Well how long do you leave between, wouldn't she cry if she was hungry?"
"Yeah but should we let her get to the point where she's crying?" The rest of the family watched in amusement as the two worried and debated over Elizabeth. A couple of hours later and the family were sat down eating. Kurt had somehow managed to cook, and everyone was pretty impressed considering they had a new baby in the house.
"So what was Vietnam like?" Asked Hiram
"It was great, we didn't get to travel or see as much of it as we'd have liked to. The day after we arrived we got Elizabeth and then traveled home four days after that"
"I can't believe you were able to keep this a secret"
"Well you know, deals fall through, things don't work out and we didn't want to tell everyone and then have to un-tell you"
"We understand," said Burt with a nod. "Adopting a child is a big step, we're all going to be here for you. Probably Finn and Rachel a little more with how close they are" Rachel nodded with a large smile
"I'll be here any time of day, won't we" she said to Finn. Finn nodded next to her
"You need to focus on your wedding Mrs.! Never mind my daughter! I can't believe you guys have moved it forward! Are you crazy?"
"We wanted to have it in February, what's the problem?" Finn asked
"The problem is I have less time now and I'm not ok with that" Kurt stated. Rachel rolled her eyes
"Kurt you've done everything already, I think Santana's fed up of fittings and cake tasting"
"Yeah Hummel if you think I'm trying anymore food or being dragged to any more florists, you're dreaming" Kurt pulled a face at her before turning his attention back to Rachel
"And you still haven't found a dress"
"Don't worry Kurt, I'll find a dress"
"Dresses don't just pop out of thin air Rachel!"
"Kurt I will find a dress" Kurt sighed, clearly residing in the argument.
"Fine. Finn what's t-" a loud cry broke out on the monitor, causing Kurt and Blaine to both jump up and run ahead to the nursery. Finn could see the Berry's smirking at his parents and wanted to know what was going on
"What are you guys smiling at?"
"Nothing" said Leroy
"Yeah we're just happy for Kurt and Blaine" said Carole "anyway, we haven't given you guys your Christmas present yet, we can give it you after dinner"
"Aren't we a bit old for presents?" Rachel asked with a laugh
"You're never to old for presents said Burt. "You know what why don't we clear this up and go exchange gifts before desert"
"Sounds good to me," said Santana, they began to clear the food and plates away before heading into the lounge twenty minutes later. Kurt and Blaine appeared back in the room with a wide-awake Eliza.
"Why are you guys in here?"
"We still have a few presents to exchange," said Leroy with a grin. Burt and Carole nodded at him, before he stood up and handed an envelope to Finn "this is from me and Hiram, and your parents for you and Rachel. It's a Hanukkah present slash Christmas present slash early wedding gift"
"Thank you" Finn said with a skeptical smile, he began to tear the envelope open with Rachel sat at his side. Inside were papers, he sat there confused reading them until his eyes widened
"What is it?" Rachel asked. Finn looked at her, to his parents who were smiling from ear to ear, before looking back at the papers
"T-they bought us an apartment"
"What?" Rachel asked loudly and shocked. She grabbed the papers and began to read them "you bought us an apartment?"
"We knew you guys were looking and we wanted to help, we're so proud of you baby, this is a house for you guys to start a family in" Hiram stated, Rachel stood up from the sofa and hugged him as tears began to pour down her face
"I don't know what to say. Thank you so much, but daddy how can you guys even afford this"
"That's for us to know, not you. We've got a penny or two, plus Burt and Carole went half"
"you guys are amazing" Finn moved to thank his own parents.
"Do you want to go and see it?" Burt said
"What? We can go and see it?"
"Yeah, we put a few things in there already for you"
"Yes let's go" Kurt clapped his hands and ran to get Eliza's things. Rachel moved from her fathers embrace to see Sophie watching everyone but not reacting. Whilst everyone began to move around and put his or her coats on, Rachel sat down in front Sophie, speaking to her in a low voice.
"Baby girl what's wrong? Don't you want to see the new Place?"
"Why do we have to move?"
"Sweetie our apartment isn't big enough, we need more space and bedrooms"
"Why?" Rachel took a deep breath before looking around to see if anyone was listening but luckily everyone was too busy fussing over other things
"Well what if me and daddy do decide to have a baby some day, where will they sleep?" Sophie's face dropped
"But you won't" Sophie said firmly "you have me" Rachel nodded her head and smiled
"Sweetheart I will one day, I want to have a baby with daddy" Sophie's bottom lip began to stick out as her head lowered "but hey" Rachel placed her hand over Sophie's and kissed the top of her head. "That's why we have got this place, because you're my number one girl. My princess Sophie and a princess needs her own room, doesn't she?" she began to tickle Sophie slightly until she nodded
"Yep"
"Well then come on smelly, we need to get to the house quick so we can choose the best room for you and Shadow"
"Ok" Sophie said jumping up and running to grab her coat with Shadow following behind.
"But how?" Rachel asked confused. She they walked into the two story apparent herself and Finn had previously selected
"We were the other bidders!" Said Hiram "we had to see if you guys liked the place, and since I'm friends with the previous owner, he did us a good deal"
"We knew you kids really wanted it but couldn't afford it, so we thought we'd help you out" Rachel hugged Burt tightly. Before looking around the place
"So all week I've been upset thinking we didn't get the place and we did, well you did, but for us"
"Yep" said Carole with Grin. "I've not even looked around it, Burt and your fathers came up to close the deal with max the other day"
"Well then let me give you a tour," Rachel said smiling "come on Soph" Sophie ran over to Rachel and let her lift her up, holding her on her hip. They headed upstairs where Rachel gave Carole a tour of the master bedroom, then they moved onto Sophie's room
"This is my room," said Sophie
"Oh sweetheart it's lovely, look at them window seats" Rachel placed Sophie down and let her run off to the window.
"I don't know how we can ever Thank you for this"
"Just promise me you two won't wait too long to fill them other rooms" Carole said without moving her eyes off of Sophie
"We won't" Rachel replied shyly before pulling Carole into a hug. Carole embraced her before pulling back to look into her eyes
"You're perfect for my Finny, and don't you ever think you're not ok"
"Ok" tears began to appear in Rachel's eyes and before she knew what was happening, she had them pouring down her cheeks "I love him and Sophie so much. You know that right?"
"Aw sweetie, I think I know that more than you do" she replied before pulling Rachel into another crushing hug
"She's asleep," Rachel said as she waltzed back into the bedroom
"Where's shadow?"
"In his basket next to her bed, I don't think he's going to stay there long though, he'll probably climb into bed with her"
"Yeah" Finn said without thinking. "So do you want your presents?"
"Do you have to ask twice?" Rachel jumped onto the bed and waited for Finn to grab some boxes out of his wardrobe. She got particularly excited when she saw a blue Tiffany's box on top.
"Ok this one first" Rachel took the present eagerly whilst Finn sat next to her on the bed. She ripped the paper off, a large smile coming to her when she saw what was underneath. Finn had framed the first photo of them and Sophie together. It was a simple picture Finn had taken of them as they walked through Central Park, Sophie in the middle with Finn and Rachel on either side of her.
"I love it"
"I thought it was a good picture, plus this is the first week we had of Sophie, it's kind of like when you take a picture at the hospital with your baby"
"What?" Rachel asked confused
"Yeah like the first official photo. This is the first official photo of us having Sophie, of us having a family" Rachel leaned forward and pecked his lips
"It's great, I'm going to put it in my dressing room at work"
"Ok open the next one" he handed her the Tiffany's box and she shook with excitement. Inside was a beautiful pair of plain cut diamond earrings.
"Finn they're gorgeous"
"Like you" he placed a simple kiss on her forehead and lingered, taking in the smell of her. "Ok this one now, it's a bit if a silly one, I got one too, I thought we could read them together" Rachel laughed as she tore off the paper to the book 'what to expect when you're expecting'
"Finn this is great," she said with a laugh
"Mines in my drawer, I warn you though, I've already got a jump start"
"Well I'm sure I'll catch up, ok my present for you now" she said with a smile. Only a beat after, Finn grabbed her by the waist and attacked her lips, pushing her onto the bed. When her brain caught up with Finns actions Rachel pushed him off gently and giggled, "what're you doing?"
"I thought you said it's time for my present?" Finn asked confused
"You're such a guy," Rachel said moving from under him "that's not what I meant" she rolled her eyes and walked over to the cupboard to grab two presents. Finn wasn't too happy that Rachel wasn't one of them but he did enjoy getting gifts so it wasn't all bad "ok Mr. hormones. Open this first" Finn pulled off the wrapping paper to a mug with a drawing design on it, done by Sophie. "Soph wanted to make you something you could have at work"
"Rach I love it"
"Ok and this one" Finn took the small present and tore the paper off. He eyes welling up when he saw the gift underneath. Inside was a small newborn baby grow saying 'I love my daddy' Rachel smiled watching his face "I told you it was something I couldn't give you in front of others"
"Rach this is the best"
"Well it's the baby's first official clothing and what a better thing to have then an I love my daddy grow"
"You're amazing, you know that?"
"I suppose you could repeat it a few time for me" Rachel said with a grin, she stood up and headed towards the bathroom
"Wait what are you doing?"
"Putting my PJ's on, it's been a long day baby, I'm tired"
"Oh ok, sure" Finn said with a smile, holding back a little disappointment on the inside. He changed into his pajama pants and pulled off his T-shirt, picking up all the presents, he placed them on the dresser except one. He took the small baby grow and placed it neatly in his sock draw, happiness washing through him and he thought of the day where he'd actually get to put it on his baby. After moving everything, he resided to the bed and sat on top of the covers with his back against the bed frame. He picked up his phone and flicked through some emails. The bathroom door opened but he didn't look up, all to busy replying to an email "hey babe, all done?" He asked without moving his eyes off of the phone screen
"Not totally"
"What?" Finn asked glancing from his phone to Rachel. But what he saw when his eyes lay on her made him freeze. She was stood in the doorway of the bathroom in a red lacy bra and pantie set, with her hair down in a messy wavy look.
"You didn't really think I'd not get you your favourite kind of present, did you?" Rachel said in a low sexy voice as she walked towards the bed. Finn grinned as he placed his phone on the night stand, Rachel climbed onto the bed and made her way over to him with that sexy smirk on her face Finn loved all too much...
