Hi guys, new chapter (YAY!) Let's begin!
Disclaimer: I don't own Teen Titans or any of the characters involved. *runs off into the corner and cries*
Robin walked into the room where Batman was still searching for Dick. Although Dick had tried to tell them whereabouts he was, he hadn't really given them a lot of information about where exactly he was, whether that was due to the shock of being released or the fact he genuinely didn't know where he was staying was a mystery to Tim.
Batman was hunched over a desk looking through file upon file, finding every piece of information that he could on everything that Dick had told them about the suits and his location.
Robin walked over to where Batman sat and lifted a rather empty file, "what's this?" he said as he opened it up. Batman grunted his response, "Everything there is on Luthor's suits."
Robin's eyes widened slightly under his mask as he looked closer at the few pages that lay in the file, "That's it? It says here the suit hasn't even been taken through the testing stages yet." His brow furrowed as he looked again at the pages, "Surely there has to be some more information on the suit? Isn't there anything else on Luthor's own private computers?"
Batman shook his head and took the file from Robin, "it seems to be that Dick was the one doing the testing of the first prototype, and it's most likely the reason why he was able to break out of the suits control." Batman sighed and handed the file back over to Robin, "You could try hacking into Luthor's computers yourself if you wanted but I doubt there will be that much else there."
Robin nodded and took the file from his mentor; he'd look into it later. Robin turned to leave but suddenly came up with an idea.
"We could ask Superman!" Batman tensed for only a second before relaxing again, "Robin, I'd rather not get the league involved in my personal affairs." Robin stood in a shocked silence for only a few seconds before he spoke again. "But Dick's a hero! that must come under some kind of league rule, right? And anyway we'd only be asking for Superman's help to get him to go over and question Luthor right?"
Batman seemed to take a deep breath to calm himself before answering, "Robin, I will not let any more people get involved in the search for Dick, besides I don't need any help from Clark or any other members of the league."
This sounded familiar to Robin.
"You mean like you didn't need the League to help you find Jason? Face it Bruce this is exactly the same as when Jason went missing! You just can't see it yet, call Superman before this gets out of your control and you lose Dick just like you lost Jason-" Robin was cut off by a fist landing on the desk, Batman stood up slowly and looked straight at Robin.
He knew he had crossed the line as soon as he had mentioned Jason but he couldn't help it he had to get through to him.
"Get out." Batman was talking in a dangerously low tone, one that he had only heard when Batman was dealing with petty criminals.
"Look Bruce, I'm sorry I shouldn't ha-. " Robin was cut off by one of Batman's famous glares, but it lacked the usual terror striking edge to it. "Now, Robin." Robin sighed and left the room, knowing that he had destroyed any chance of trying to talk to Batman, at least for a while anyway.
Once Robin left the room, he mentally kicked himself, 'Good going genius!' Robin felt riddled with guilt, it was a low blow comparing Jason's and Dick's situation together.
Robin put a hand through his hair and walked down the corridor towards his friends in the med bay. Robin was sure nobody would really be visiting since it was almost four o'clock in the morning, generally a time that only Bats were up at, but he was surprised to see Cyborg sitting next to a resting Bumblebee.
"Hi." Cyborg jumped on his stool but relaxed when he realized it was only Robin, "Oh, hi Robin. I was just checking up on everyone since my charging had finished up." Robin nodded but suspected that that wasn't the only reason he came through.
"So any news on Renegade?" Cyborg asked as he patted a stool next to him. Robin sighed and shook his head, "The middle of an Eastern desert near Jump City isn't exactly that great a clue." Cyborg nodded and looked down at Bumblebee; he snapped his head up only a second later however.
"What do you mean in the middle of an eastern desert? When did you find that out?" Cyborg had suddenly turned his full attention to Robin.
Robin stared at Cyborg with a confused expression. "Didn't anyone tell you? Rob-well Renegade told me after he broke free from the suit" Cyborg looked bewildered and grabbed Robin's shoulders, "What do you mean he told you? What suit?"
Just then Robin realized just how much the team had been missing out on, only he had been there when Dick had broken from the suit, since he had told Menos to run and hide, and when the team arrived he had only told Batman what had happened. Robin looked back at Cyborg who had a look of panic and worry in his one human eye.
"Wow you've really been kept out of the loop here haven't you?" Cyborg shook Robin slightly, "What haven't we been told?!" Robin sighed and proceeded to tell Cyborg everything that had happened while Cyborg and the rest of his old team had been away but avoiding the fact that he had almost been killed by his former partner.
"But why did he only just break out of the suit when he was fighting you?" Robin looked down at the floor and hoped that Cyborg wouldn't go into it in any more detail. "Robin, you're not telling me something, what is it?"
Robin looked back at Cyborg, "Promise me you won't freak out or get angry or anything and just remember that Renegade was under the control of Slade at the time." Cyborg looked at Robin again, "Robin, what did Renegade do?" Robin scowled at Cyborg and started his explanation up again, "Renegade, didn't do anything but Slade…Slade tried to kill me." Cyborg's one eye widened as he came to a conclusion on what happened, "You mean…so Renegade… he almost killed you but he broke out of it before Slade could tell him to do it." Robin nodded solemnly, "And this suit," he said trying to catch Robin's attention again, "He couldn't break out of it at all before then?"
Robin shrugged, "I don't think so, he looked kind of shocked when it happened so I guess not." Cyborg looked back down at Bumblebee. He groaned and put his head in his hands, "And to think that I was starting to lose hope in him." Robin stood up sharply and glared at the man sitting before him.
"Don't you dare, even for a second, lose hope in Renegade. He has done nothing but tried to protect you guys from Slade, he only ran away after our encounter because he was trying to protect us, he didn't know how long his freedom would last; all he knew was that he'd broken free from the suit for a short time and that Slade would be a little more than livid with him when he found out what had happened. He even gave us hints about what was happening and where he was located; he took a big risk in telling us that. He's the bravest guy I've ever met and only God knows what he's heading back to now."
Robin could feel his face start to redden and his eyes start to water, but he didn't stop with his little speech, "The least you could do is still have faith in him and hope that he doesn't give up on us anytime soon." Cyborg seemed rooted to his seat and he had looked down at the floor in the shame.
"And if any other 'Titan' wants to give up on him, you can tell them exactly what I just told you." Cyborg nodded and started to say something but Robin had already left.
Out in the hallway Robin rubbed at his face furiously to try and get rid of the tears that were threatening to fall. He eventually managed to calm himself as he reached the room that he was sleeping in. He could hear Raven next door; she seemed to be talking to herself…wait Raven talking to herself?
Robin leaned against the door to hear better, no sooner had he leant on the door did he hear that Raven had stopped talking and he could hear footsteps coming toward the door.
He stepped back as Raven opened the door, she looked momentarily surprised before she composed herself, her eyes were shining, something that Robin thought didn't happen often with Raven, and she seemed excited about something.
Raven excited about something, a miracle must have happened.
"I found Renegade."
Yay! We're only about two or three chapters away from the end! I'm really sorry if this was kind of crappy, I'm kind of tired for some reason and I had a bit of writers block but I didn't want to be late again so here you go! Also i realise this entire chapter is from Robin (Tim Drake's) view but the next one should be back to Renegade (Dick Grayson)
Also I went to go see The Lego Movie and it was amazing! I loved Batman in it and it was a really good movie! I highly recommend you go see it :D
Thank you to everyone who has been reviewing, favouriting, following and reading the story, i hope it's enjoyable for you! :)
Anyway I'm tired so I'm going to go to bed now, see you all on Wednesday!
