Hey guys and gals, it is now time for Chapter 21! I can't believe it. Anyway, I wanted to discuss about the school-shooting idea I had last chapter, and if you're wondering, I do not plan to write this in a couple of chapters, if you want me to write it, then it will most likely be in the Chapter 30-35 range. So far, most of you seem okay with me writing the school-shooting, so I most likely will. Thank you all with all the wonderful reviews, they really mean a lot. I've gotten numerous reviews telling me which name you would like for the baby, and there were a variety of different answers, so it's gonna be hard to choose. But enough yapping, let's get to the story, so without further ado, I present Chapter 21! Enjoy :)
(Beginning of Chapter 21)
After Luke and Christina separated from their tight embrace, Luke told them what he almost did. The parents were frightened, and Morgan took Luke to the hospital immediately. While Christina stayed at home with the other kids.
Once arriving at the hospital, Luke and Morgan waited in the waiting room, Morgan was beyond worried about his son, he didn't want this for Luke. He brought him here hoping that the doctors could give him something, or sign him back up for therapy, just something to prevent him from trying to hurt himself again.
"Dad...are you mad at me?" Luke asked, looking up at his father.
"I'm not mad Luke...I'm just scared, I don't want you to hurt yourself Luke, that is never the answer! Never!" Morgan exclaimed.
"But I didn't do it." Luke replied.
"That's true, and you did tell your mother and I right after it happened, that was very mature Luke, I'm glad you did that...or things could have gotten way, way worse!" Morgan said as he rubbed his hand up and down Luke's back, comforting him.
"Does Emma really hate me?" Luke asked, staring down at the floor.
"No Luke, she loves you...you know that. She was just frustrated and she didn't mean to say it." Morgan replied.
"I told her I hated her." Luke whispered.
"Well did you mean it?" Morgan asked.
"No...but she pushed me down and yelled at me...that's why I said it." Luke responded.
"You were just caught up in the moment...it happens." Morgan replied.
Suddenly, Dr. Kennedy walked into the room. Morgan stood to his feet, while Luke remained seated.
"Dr. Kennedy!" Morgan exclaimed, getting his attention.
"Ah...Mr. Ross, what do I owe this pleasure?" Dr. Kennedy asked.
"Well...Luke informed Christina and I that he was thinking about hurting himself, or maybe worse, so I brought him as soon as possible!" Morgan replied.
"Oh...well I could direct you to Dr. Martin, he specializes in child psychology, he would be more use to you than I would." Dr. Kennedy said.
"Okay...thank you!" Morgan exclaimed as Dr. Kennedy went to go call him and see if he's available.
Morgan looked back at Luke, who was still sitting in the chair, looking down at the ground, he looked so sad.
Then, a few seconds later, Dr. Kennedy walked back over to Morgan and said "Dr. Martin will be happy to see you now...follow me."
"Okay thank you...let me get Luke." Morgan replied, walking over to his son.
"Hey Luke, we're going to go see another doctor now, you want to meet him?" Morgan asked, sticking his hand out for Luke to hold.
Luke stood up, and held his father's hand as they followed Dr. Kennedy down the hall. They got to room 167, and Dr. Kennedy knocked on the door.
They heard from the other side of the door, "Come in!"
Dr. Kennedy turned the knob, and opened the door, revealing who Morgan and Luke presumed was Dr. Martin, he was tall, had brown hair, with hints of gray forming. His eyes were bright green, he looked like he was in his late forties to early fifties.
"Hi...I'm Dr. Martin." The man said as he shook hands with Morgan, as well as Luke.
"Hello, my name is Morgan Ross, and this is my son, Luke." Morgan replied.
"Well Dr. Kennedy told me about what happened, and I think I can help, so please take a seat!" Dr. Martin said.
"Okay" Morgan replied as he and Luke took their seats by Dr. Martin's desk.
Dr. Kennedy left, and Dr. Martin sat back in his chair, he turned to Luke and said, "So Luke...why would you want to harm yourself?"
Luke looked down at his feet, and said "I-I don't know...t-to myself feel better I guess..."
"I see, but why would you think it would make you feel better?" Dr. Martin replied.
Luke shrugged his shoulders, and turned to his father.
"Morgan do you have anything to say?" Dr. Martin asked.
"Well...I just want my son to be safe, he's had so much happen to him in the past couple of months...I-I just don't want anything else to happen to him." Morgan said.
Luke looked at his father sympatically, and they continued on with the appointment.
Meanwhile, back at the house, Christina was in the living room, laying flat on the couch. Her hands on her stomach, she already felt pregnant. She thought about the names the kids suggested, liking all of them, she had no idea how she was going to choose one.
Things were only gonna get harder from this point forward.
After a couple of hours of waiting for Morgan and Luke to get back, Christina had tucked in Zuri and Ravi, while Emma went to bed on her own. She was still furious with her daughter, they still hadn't fully decided on her punishment.
Soon enough, she heard Morgan and Luke pull up in the driveway. She looked out the window, and saw Morgan carrying a sleeping Luke to the door. She smiled, and opened the door, allowing Morgan and Luke in. Morgan carried Luke up the stairs and laid him in bed, while Christina covered him up with his covers, and Morgan placed Pingo in his arms.
They walked back downstairs, and sat on the couch.
"Did Luke fall asleep on the way home?" Christina asked.
"Yeah, lasted about half-way home." Morgan said.
"So what did the doctors say?" Christina asked.
"Dr. Martin said that Luke had child depression, and that if not helped soon things would only get worse." Morgan stated.
"Well...what do we do?" Christina asked, very concerned.
"He gave me a note for some prescription medicine, I need to get it at the pharmacy. It decreases depression or something. But he also told me that we have to keep things fun and interesting, keep him busy. And also that we need to put anything that he could use to hurt himself with away, for example letter-openers, knives, sharp objects, and more." Morgan replied.
"Okay, we can do that, how long does he need to be on the medicine?" Christina asked.
"I don't know...just until he starts to get happier, and less depressed." Morgan replied.
"Okay...well I guess we have no choice." Christina replied.
After that, they talked for a little while longer, and then headed off to bed. In the morning, they took sharp and dangerous objects out of all the kids rooms, and all the knives and forks from the kitchen, and they hid them. If the kids wanted a fork or knife to eat, they would have to ask Morgan or Christina, and they'll go get them.
It was now Sunday afternoon, Ravi and Zuri were playing outside, while Emma remained in her room, still in trouble. Luke was in his own room as well, reading some comic books, and Christina was outside watching her youngest kids. Morgan had left to go get the prescription medicine for Luke.
While in his room, Luke laid in bed, reading one of his many comic books, and having Pingo sitting right next to him. He was beyond bored, he couldn't do anything fun. His birthday was just a week away, and he was miserable. But he was excited about finally being a teenager, he was going to be thirteen, that's a big step in a child's life.
After thinking about his thirteenth birthday, Luke hadn't noticed Emma standing in the doorway, only realizing she was there when he heard her speak.
"Hey." Emma said, getting Luke's attention.
Luke turned to his sister, and said "What do you want?"
"I just wanted to say...I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean for it to come out that way, Luke the only reason I said that was because I was scared I would do something to make you upset. I already feel extremely guilty about when I told you about the baby." Emma replied.
"You don't have to be guilty Emma, I'm not mad at you for telling me about the baby." Luke responded.
"But I'm mad at myself! Luke you could have died out there! And it would have been all my fault! I couldn't live like that, I can't live without my brother!" Emma exclaimed.
"I didn't know you felt that way...I thought you hated me..." Luke replied.
"Luke, I don't hate you...I hate myself, and the way I've treated you...I'm so sorry for everything! Please forgive me." Emma stated.
"I forgive you Emma, you're my sister, it doesn't matter that were not biological siblings...but we're still family, and we always will be. No matter what!" Luke exclaimed.
"Thank you!" Emma exclaimed as tears formed in her eyes, she embraced her brother in a tight hug, it had been a while since they've done that.
Outside the doorway, Christina stood in silence. A tear slid down her cheek, she was so happy they made up. She had come in to check on them, and saw them talking. So she watched as the brother and sister reconciled and hugged.
Later that day, Morgan had come back home with Luke's medicine, he was supposed to take two everyday, one in the morning, and one at night.
The whole family was eating dinner together, Luke and Emma were sitting next to each other, having gotten past everything they've been through.
Luke kept going on and on about his birthday, and how he needed to have an epic party, it was his thirteenth birthday after all. Morgan and Christina had already sent out the invites, they sent one to Morgan's brother George, as well as his two sons Carson and Tate. And they sent more to other people as well, like Lisa and Vivian, but they didn't know if they would come, they were still deeply upset about Amber, but nobody could blame them. Morgan's parents Walter and Sarah were coming. Conner was going to be there, as well as a bunch of other people. It was gonna rock.
