Shadowed Fury 20

Kyo stood tall as the announcer said his name and looked his father straight in his eye. It was as if he were daring Kakashi to do something about this. Not that he thought for a moment Kakashi would be able to recover enough to do something about it. Most of that would be directed towards his mother when there wasn't an audience. The room was still silent as all the Leaf Nin were staring at Kyo as if they'd never seen him before. Kakashi was famous as a loner and him having a child seemed a bit unlikely. Most of these Nin's went to school with Kyo and he'd never hinted about who his father was not to mention his black hair was now silver. Kyo leapt down onto the arena floor and stood across from a Cloud Nin. He stood proud and tall as his heritage dictated him to be.
"Kakashi-sensei you have a kid?" Naruto shouted.
Kyo rolled his eyes in annoyance. Of course it was Naruto that would make an outburst about the entire thing. Then his attention was drawn to Genma as the older nin shifted a bit and there was a smirk on his features. There was a gleam in Genma's eyes telling Kyo he'd be smirking too if he didn't have to be so serious about the entire thing. This had been a long time coming in the minds of those who knew about the entire thing which wasn't many.
"Who gives a shit can we get on with this?" the Cloud nin groused.
"Sure kid," Genma groused.
He wanted to drag this out but they had to continue the matches. Kyo looked at Genma and nodded his head before he got down in his own stance. Kyouran leaned against the railing with a soft smile as she watched Kyo. Things couldn't be undone now and there would be a blow up later. Kyo readied himself for this battle that would only last a few moments. In the Forest of Death he'd been scouting and come across this team by chance and the nin had flaws in his fighting style that could be gotten under for a shadow jumper like him. Of course he was Kiri's teammate and it made him angry how he treated her. This would be payback for the Cloud Shinobi who had demon heritage. His Mother taught him to respect female's no matter their station in life but that of course didn't apply to the battlefield or missions.
"So what's the big deal that the entire place went silent at the announcement of your name?"
Kyo just smirked ferally. The kid had hesitation in his gate as he shifted from one foot to the other. His fight or flight reflexes were kicking in because he was sensing the predator in Kyo. There was some dark part of him that relished in bringing out the fear in others, but he squashed it down.
"It's family problems. Not that it's any of your concern."
His hands curled a bit showing off his claw like nails. Kyo Looked at Genma and tipped his head. Genma nodded his head at the youngest Hatake with a smirk as he shifted his senbon in his mouth.
"You kiddies ready?"
"Yeah let's get this over with," the Cloud Nin growled.
"Yes, let's," Kyo said with a smirk.
Genma signaled for the start of the match. The Cloud Nin leapt for Kyo which would be his first and last mistake if he had anything to say about it. Kyo smirked as he vanished and reappeared behind the ninja and shoved him forward before leaping backwards. This could've been turned into a cat and mouse game, but Kyo didn't want to draw this out more than necessary. The Hatake was moving so fast the other nin just swung at air and shadows.
"Face me coward," the nin shouted. "Or are you afraid?"
"If there is one thing in my life I've been called a coward isn't one of them and my fears don't have anything to do with the battlefield I assure you."
Kyo was in a crouch ten feet away from the nin. He was balanced on one hand and around his hand electricity was forming. Kyouran watched with pride as her son prepared himself for a fight. She'd learned the hand signs for Kakashi's famous Lighting Blade and taught Kyo to use it. Her affinity wasn't Lighting like her son's was. Though Kyo's chakra elements could be considered all over the board which made him a deadly opponent like his father without the need for the sharingan. Kyo leapt forward towards the other Nin.
"Lighting Blade!" he shouted.
Kakashi was dumbfounded at what he was seeing before him. The Cloud Nin barely made it out of the way of the charging half-breed. The attack exploded when the attack hit the wall and the clone poofed. The real Kyo slam his fist into the Nin's cheek sending him into the opposite wall before the dust settled from his Lighting Blade. Kyo stood tall watching the Nin just in case he tried to stand up. Kyo shook his hand making the residue of the attack hit the ground. Kyouran could see through her son's glamour knowing his tail was swishing in his excitement. Genma walked forward and checked the Cloud Nin over. He was unconscious and probably would need a medic nin. It made him wish for the hundredth time that Kyouran had fallen in love with him and this was his son. This would've been a proud moment indeed for his Clan on both sides. He rose and chewed on his senbon for a moment before raising his hand towards Kyo.
"He's done. Kyo you're the winner."
Kyo dropped his smirk and nodded his head. A loud whooping came from the upper area. He couldn't stop the blush that crossed his features. It was Sakura and Naruto. He gave a sweeping bow before he vanished in a flurry of silver leaves and landing beside his Mother since his other teammates had been knocked out early in the elimination rounds.
"Nice one out there Kyo, you didn't even give the kid a chance to even attack. The Lighting Blade was a nice touch too."
"I saw how he treated the berserker. It made me mad and I didn't think he deserved a fair fight. Not to mention I didn't want to drag this out anymore than it had to be. I thought you'd like that one."
"You're probably right not to drag it out the kid would've sustained more damage if you didn't kill him first."
"I wouldn't have gone that far Mom, besides," he murmured as he looked up at Gaara. "There are bigger fish to expend the energy on."
Kyouran chuckled softly. Much like Naruto, Kyo hated the injustices of the world and wanted to correct them. Both Foxes would take the world by storm one day and make their families proud here on earth and up in the heavens. "You won't have to concern yourself with Gaara, but you do have to understand something Kyo, Kiri must correct the problem herself in the end or people fighting her battles will only hinder her in the long run. Give her the right reason, and she'll start fighting with everything she has to get stronger."
"You know something don't you Mother."
"Maybe I do."
A small smile was on Kyouran's face as she sunk into deep thoughts. Kyo shrugged his shoulders. The feeling of being watched dragged their attention to the Hatake that was staring at them so intently.
"That maybe Mom, but if enough people keep beating them then maybe they'll understand what it means to be a team. You're the second person to beat the tar of them in less than three days."
Kyouran ruffled his hair playfully trying to get him off the subject. He really didn't need to know about that particular fight. There was no need to worry him needless with the knowledge that Itachi and his teammate were in the village already.
"Mom!"
He protested as he shoved her hair off his head. He tried to bring some semblance of order back to his hair but considering he takes after his father it spiked up anyway.
"You know I miss you being shorter than me," Kyouran teased.
"It's not my fault I had a growth spurt early mom. Besides you and Kaji are just short."
"You know one day we're going to make you eat those words."
He blushed again knowing full well his mother still had him beat. She would still beat him when he came into the true power of his demon heritage. Kaji would kick his ass too. Thankfully she wasn't there to hear the conversation. He wondered if wherever his sister was if she felt her ears burning for them talking about her. He raised his hands in defeat. "That and you shouldn't ever underestimate anyone much less short people. They can be just as dangerous as a tall person."
"I know to never underestimate my opponent Mom, you taught me well. You and I both know Mom you know I'll never beat you."
"One day you'll be strong enough to take on the world Kyo and that even includes me and your father."
Kyo took a deep breath as she said that. He fought the urge to look towards his father. Kakashi was a wild card in this but there was probably only one reaction to what happened. He didn't like the thought but he knew his mother would want to handle this herself. His father knew he existed now as the Hatake Clan heir. He didn't know how to feel about the entire thing. There was probably going to be a blow up but he was sure his father would do it so it was just between him and his mother. This would either end badly or not end at all. Both his parents were stubborn to a fault and this might end in a stalemate again. He turned his attention to the other fighters to try and distract himself. The rest of the elimination round went quickly as they watched on. Once the matches were over Kyo looked over at his mother.
"Come on Mom," Kyo murmured softly.
Kyouran smiled at her son and followed him out of the building. She paused a moment. "Mom?"
"Go ahead Kyo I want to clear my head before anything else happens."
"Whatever you have to say to Dad, Mom, he kinda has it coming."
"That's not really for you to decide Kyo but you're right about that."
"Go find your sister and Kaho they're probably worried about you."
He nodded his head. He leaned down and brushed his nose across her cheek in their form of a fox kiss before he vanished from sight. Kyouran was sitting on top of the building in the middle of the Forest of Death. Her tail swished back and forth slowly. She was listening to the sounds of the forest. It comforted her even though there were creatures out there that were more dangerous than herself. The flicker of his chakra didn't even make her move or bat an eyelash as he landed beside her. Even in the middle of the woods she could still distinguish his scent from the forest. She guessed that she'd always be able to do that. He'd never be able to hide from her because of it. Neither of them spoke for the longest time. Kyouran was waiting for him to make the first move.
"When were you planning on telling me about this?"
Rising slowly she faced the man her heart ached for but on some level would never have. His loyalties and priorities were always in the wrong place on what should be most important.
"When you grew up."
She tried to walk past him but he caught her arm. That sent anger rippling through her. Even though many a times she wanted to strike him it wouldn't ever happen.
"Kyouran…"
Her eyes flashed dangerously but he didn't take the warning that was there. She yanked her arm out of his grip. She felt like this conversation was going to be like a broken record. She would have to repeat herself over and over again and he still wouldn't get it. She loved and respected him but for a smart person he was lacking the common sense that was necessary to be the mate of a demon like her. She counted to ten at least three times before she whipped around to face him.
"No, you listen to me for once Kakashi. You abandoned me when I needed you the most and 'This is a mistake' kinda ruined everything Kakashi. I tried to tell you more than once that you had a son, but you were with one hussy or another."
"Kyouran it wasn't what you think."
"Oh really? Then how was it I smelled them all over you and you all over them."
She shivered in disgust as she remembered some of the women. "And you inside of them. Did you forget completely what the hell I am? You sleep with them I can smell that fact. And every damned time you did I felt what was left of my heart shatter more and more. Not that you gave a rat's ass. Didn't you ever wonder why Genma more than once wanted to start a fight with you?"
He seemed to think about it for a moment. His eye narrowed dangerously.
"You talked him into it."
"That's bullshit Kakashi and you know it. Genma did it of his own free will. He saw what you were doing to Kyo and myself and wanted to find some form of retribution for us, but I wouldn't allow him. Or any other damned shinobi that gave a shit about me as a friend. Minato would be ashamed of you Kakashi," she spat.
The moment those words left her mouth she wished she could take them back but they couldn't be unsaid now. Kakashi started stutter. Kyouran snorted in annoyance trying to brush off her own shame. "So don't tell me you give a shit now."
"He's my son too."
"Oh, really? As far as I'm concerned he's my son. His father died a long time ago to me. The day he told me that what we'd worked so hard on was a mistake."
"You should've tried harder to tell me."
"When are you going to learn that this isn't all about you anymore Kakashi? I'm a demon and despite popular belief I only can have one mate for my entire life. One, and you are the man that mirrors my soul. I couldn't ever betray you. I was offered so many opportunities to do so but I refused because it's against what I am to do so even to get back at you. Let me tell you something else Kakashi, I'm a disgrace to every single clan in the village and every demon village in the world."
His eye brow twitched in anger she was sure. He seemed to be trying to calm himself and take in all that was said without shouting at her. Despite the fact they were angry at each other he still would be mindful of her hearing. Then his shoulders slumped for some reason. That made the demon wary right away, he wasn't someone to back down from a fight that he believed he was in the right.
"You deserved better than me Kyouran."
"That's it?" she asked in disbelief. "You honestly think that answer will suffice to the years of loneliness my Son and I have endured? I know damned well who I belonged with and who was deserving of me. My instinct drives me to you Kakashi and on top of that I loved you from the first moment I saw you. I strove to protect you with everything that I have in me, but still that wasn't enough for you. Every time you betrayed our bond I felt something inside of me shred more and more. My heart keeps bleeding and I wonder if fate will ever let me rest from it, but you know I'm tired of these games Kakashi."
She shook her head and backed away from him. This was getting old. "Just go take care of Sasuke, Kakashi. I don't have time for this. My priorities are my family first. Maybe you should try it sometime and maybe you'll find what you think you're looking for."
With a flurry of black leaves she changed into a black fox and started walking away. Her shoulders were straight even though she wanted to let the world weigh her down because she probably just lost the man she loved for good. She paused.
"You know it broke my heart every moment that Kyo had to hide his true hair color and every single time I had to drag him from your balcony."
He looked at her in bewilderment for only a for a moment.
"My balcony?"
"For a high class shinobi you're very dense not to notice the small chakra that was always watching you. He'd vanish every day for a few hours to sit on your balcony to watch you, but when he got old enough he stopped going. He finally realized that man that fathered him was gone and a poor excuse for a shadow walked in his Father's body. Despite his half breed nature Kyo still understands what it means to have one mate forever and even though our bond is half assed it still grates upon my will and heart."
"Then why do you hang on so tightly knowing what you know?"
"Because I love you and I will love you till the end of my existence. Two souls that mirror each other will always find their way back to each other in the next life."
"You really believe that?"
"Of course I do. We were always meant to be Kakashi, but you just need to come to terms with it."
Then she walked away allowing him to chew on that bit of information.
