"Come out with your hands where I can see them." Antonio yelled at the man in the dark shadow of the garage unable to see his face.
"I come in peace." He spoke stepping forward with his hands raised.
"Who sent you?" Antonio snapped still pointing his gun at the man.
"I want to offer my help to lieutenant Casey."
"Where do I know you from?" Matt asked as we walked up behind Antonio now.
"The apartment fire earlier today." The man spoke.
"Yeah right you and your mother got trapped." Matt spoke walking around Antonio now as he lowered his gun." How is your mom doing?"
"Well we are alive cause of you, so she is greatful, and doing well."
"I didn't catch your name." Matt asked placing his hand out to shake the mans.
"Curtis."
"So Curtis how did you want to help Matt here?" Antonio asked next.
"Word on the street is your worth a pretty penny dead."
"Yeah so I hear." Matt said shaking his head." And what are you gonna do about it." Matt snapped slightly unsure of where Curtis was going.
"I'm willing to wear a wire." Curtis offered." My mom told me to do the right, and that's why I'm here."
"You do realise what your offering?" Antonio asked.
"Yes, he risked his life holding back the fire and dangling from the ladder eight stories up." Curtis said as I looked over to Matt getting a knowing look from him that he would be interrogated later." I'm willing to pay it forward, that's what my mama taught me."
"That's very brave of you son."Boden spoke from behind me.
"Can it work?" Matt turned to Antonio.
"It may be our only option."
Matt turned and walked over to me now taking my hands in his." Do you still want me to retract?"
" Do you really think it will work?" I turn my attention to Antonio to ask.
"It will be risky but yeah I think it can." He said walking over to Matt and I.
"Then do it." I say encouraging, as Matt kisses my cheek.
We all sit in the briefing room now as Curtis makes a call to meet Voight. Once the meeting is arraigned Antonio comes back with a wire and goes over the plan of how he wants it all to go down. Kelly and Leslie are brought up to speed of the situation as well as Hermann for he will be taking Matt's spot if their are any calls. Matt has insisted on going to listen on in the van. I was not happy, but knew my brother would never put him in harms way so I agreed. The meeting is in thirty minutes so they are about to leave.
"You be careful." I tell Antonio walking outside with him.
"Always am, and I got his back." He says giving me a his on my temple before I turn around to see Matt walking up to me.
I quickly pull Matt into a hug to hide my tears as I whisper in his ear." Be careful."
"Always." He whispers as he kisses my cheek." I will see you later." Matt says as he breaks our hug to look me in the eyes.
"No goodbyes, just see you later." I say placing my hand on his cheek.
"Love you ." He says kissing my nose as he walks off.
"Love you." I call out as I turn to watch them leave.
FOUR HOURS LATER
"Gabby you are going to put a whole in the floor." Leslie says watching me pace.
"Why haven't we heard anything yet?"
"I'm sure it is fine no news is good." She says jumping off the bathroom counter to stop my pacing." Why don't you come eat something."
"I can't, Not now."
"Gabby all this worrying can't be good for the baby." Shay says grabbing my arms now for me to look at her." Matt will not do anything without thinking about you first, trust me."
"Yeah your probably right." I say taking a deep breath to relax my nerves.
"Then you need to think about Matt now, and how upset he will be if you are not taking care of yourself and the baby."
"Ok maybe I should try to lay down in his office." I say.
"That's a great idea but not til you come and eat something with me." She says pulling me out of the bathroom.
Leslie and I sat in the common room eating a sandwich trying to make small talk. It was the middle of the night so the room was empty, except for us. Most of the guys had receeded to their bunks for some shut eye. After we finished eating we moved to the couch trying to find something on Tv but was unsuccessful. I must have fallen asleep because next thing I know Kelly is tapping my leg telling me we needed to leave.
"Kelly what's going on, is it Matt?" I ask jumping to my feet following him towards the garage.
"We need to meet him." He says waving Leslie to follow as well." That's all I know.
We jump in Kelly's car as he speeds down the road. We drive a few blocks before we stop outside of a small dinner.
"This is where we are meeting him?" I asked confused.
"This is the address he texted me." Kelly said as we got out of the car.
As we approach the front door Matt walks out to meet us with a beer in his hand." You had me worried sick and your out having a ." I started to say before Matt's lips crashed on mine.
"It's over, it's all over." He says with his beautiful smile looking down at me.
All I can do is hug him for those words never sounded so good.
"We came here to celebrate." Matt says now as he takes a swig of beer.
"Well since were are celebrating let me have some of that beer." I say kissing his lips." Mmm that is one of the best beers I ever tasted."
Well my love that is the only beer you will be tasting because I ordered you a club soda." He says putting his arm around my shoulder walking inside." Since your body is hard at work creating the most perfect baby I will ever lay eyes on." He whispered in my ear.
The rest of the night and early morning we all sat in this diner laughing and having a good time finally feeling safe.
