Yes…a lot of you are tired of my crap. But in my defense you guys deserve cliffhangers sometimes. LOL uh ok. Yes! Henry is dead. I can only shoot him so many times XP but I'm not telling you Margaret's condition! It's just my way of saying, "HAHAHAH I'M SO IMMATURE"! So I'm sorry but you'll have to read to see how she is.
Adam Levine: She's dead!
Me: ADAM! THAT'S NOT NICE!
Margaret: I'm fine
Me: YOU'RE SUPPOSE TO BE IN MY STORY…UGH!
Mordecai got out of his car, the minute he did he saw the door open, hearing Alice crying. "Margaret never leaves the door open…ever since Alice had started crawling…" He frowned then gasped, "Crap! Henry! Or Jack!" He ran inside, "MARGARET! ROSIE! ANYONE?!" He ran towards the stairs only to hear Alice's cries. He slowly turned to see Margaret, laying in a pool of blood with Alice screaming, "MARGARET!" He knelt down. "Margaret!"
The cardinal slowly opened her eyes, "Mor-Mordecai…"
He smiled, "Yes…" He pulled her hand and kissed it, "Are you ok?"
Margaret looked to see Alice, "Get the baby and call an ambulance!" She looked at the door, "Where's Rosie!?"
"Margaret, I don't know…" He lifted Alice up, "What happened?"
The cardinal whimpered, "H-Henry…he tried to kill me and Alice…" She gasped for air then sighed, "I told…Rosie to run away but…she didn't come back!" She wheezed, "he took Rosie didn't he?" Tears began to fall down her face.
Mordecai kissed her cheek, "I'll find her! Don't worry!" He sped to the phone and dialed 911, "Hello! I need an ambulance…my girlfriend's been shot and her daughter is missing"
Margaret whimpered, "Rosie.." She wept to herself, "my baby"
The blue jay looked at Alice, the poor child was still crying and drenched in blood. Alice had blood on her hands and outfit, it looked like she'd played in her mother's blood.
"Allie" He kissed her forehead, she was safe.
Margaret whispered, "Mordecai. Get over here"
The blue jay walked over and knelt down, "Yea? Are you ok?" He repeated to her.
She shook her head, "I've been better" She smiled then looked at Alice, "Promise me you'll love again"
Mordecai shook his head, "It's not gonna happen" He took her hand, "You're going to be ok"
"I…I've been shot and I'm bleeding through" She gripped his hand, "It's not going to happen" She sighed, "Promise me you'll love again"
The blue jay looked at her, "Margaret! I can't" He looked at her. "I can't leave you here"
She whimpered, "You'll be fine" Slowly she reached up and slid her hand down Alice's spikes, "Give Alice a mommy…if you find Rosie, be a daddy she's been dreaming of.." Margaret whispered.
The blue jay felt tears leaving his eyes, "Yes.." He nodded.
"Tell my girls about me. Teach them right from wrong" Tears cascaded down her face, "Take good care of them"
Mordecai nodded, "I will"
Sirens were heard leaving Margaret to smile a little bit, "Go take Alice and find Rosie.." She patted his hand.
Mordecai whispered, "I love you" He sped off, clutching Alice to his chest.
He opened the door and ran onto the lawn, he walked down the street to see a man's body laying in the middle of the road. "What the!" He ran to the body.
His feet felt numb as he reached the man, he saw the red hair, the pudgy fatness of the man, it was without a doubt, Henry. He died from a shot through the chest, his blood had already cascaded down a few feet from his body.
Mordecai covered Alice's eyes causing her to whimper. He looked down to see a gun laying in front of the man, "Who shot you?" He whispered. He looked around, "Rosie! Rosie!" He ran down the street, shouting. "It's me. Don't be scared!"
Alice whimpered, looking back and seeing Henry. "Gah!"
He nodded, "It's ok Allie. He was a bad man" He turned his head to see the forest, "Think your sister ran into the forest?"
Alice turned and smiled, "Sss" She waved her wing. Mordecai nodded then ran into the forest.
Inside a house, Rosie played with Amber, the neighbor that took her in, Rosie explained that Henry had harmed her for her entire life, "It's ok. That man won't hurt you anymore" Amber assured.
Rosie looked at her feet, "When da Mama come?"
Amber shrugged, "Sorry Sweetie. I don't know when she'll come"
The red bird lifted a toy, "Bah my daddy will wight?"
"You have a daddy?" Amber then snapped her fingers, remembering a tall bird once, playing with Rosie in the snow. "that blue jay. Don't worry Sweetie. Once the police arrive we'll get you back with your daddy"
"Den they'll put Henry wid Jack" Rosie giggled, clapping her hands.
Amber lifted Rosie up, "But you're stained in blood" "I don't want you going back to your daddy looking like a mess" She carried her to a extra room, "Don't worry my niece left some of her clothes, you're about her age"
Rosie smiled, "Dank you Amber"
Amber changed the young child, then sighed. The poor child was probably traumatized for seeing her mother shot and being left with a maniac. "So uh…why don't you tell me about your family Rosie?"
Rosie looked at her, "My daddy works in a building on the cwomputer. He loves Mama and me and Allie a wot"
Amber sat down, "Really? Can you tell me how much he loves you all?" The red bird giggled, thinking of one thing.
Flashback:
"No! No! He's gonna get me! Mama! Daddy! Help!" Rosie screamed, tossing and turning in her bed.
The door opened to see her parents, "Shh. Rosie. Baby" Margaret sat on the bed, "Shh…Sweetie…" She shook her daughter awake, "You were having a bad dream"
Rosie whimpered, hugging her bear, "It was Jack! He had me!"
Margaret awed, "Sweetie. No he doesn't, you're right here" She ran her fingers through her hair.
The blue jay sat on the bed as well, "He can't get you Rose"
Rosie whimpered, "You pwomise?"
"I'm certain he can't get you" He picked up Katie Mordy, "You have a fairy princess protecting you" He placed the doll right next to her, Rosie hugged the doll even tighter.
Margaret whispered in his ear, "She'll have more nightmares tonight…just go back to bed"
The blue jay shook his head, "No it's ok. I can stay up with her" He kissed her, "You need sleep. You were up last time…it's my turn"
Margaret giggled, "You're the best" She turned to Rosie, "Sweetheart, Daddy's gonna stay up with you. He'll protect you from the monsters" She gave her daughter a kiss then headed down the hall.
Rosie hugged Katie Mordy, "Daddy…you're gonna stay up?"
He nodded, sitting on the bed, laying against the headboard, "Yea. When I was little I used to stay up with my brothers and we'd protect each other from the boogey man"
Rosie giggled then hugged her doll, "I wuv you Daddy" She snuggled into his wing, closing her eyes.
Amber smiled, "He must be a very good Daddy to you" She giggled then looked out the window to see police cars and ambulances, "Oh thank god" She lifted the girl, "C'mere Rosie"
She opened her door to see policeman pulling up the cabin, "POLICE! POLICE!" She yelled, getting their attention.
They turned to see a brown haired girl holding a red bird toddler, "Yes Ma'am?"
"The woman in there, this is her child" She held the child out.
A policeman walked up and blinked his eyes, "Are you Rosaline Mavis Haddad?"
Rosie nodded, "Yea.." She began to get worried.
He smiled, "I'm Officer Wiggs, I'm the one who helped your mother find you" He then looked back to see paramedics lifting Margaret onto a stretcher. "Rosaline, we're going to have to take you away until your father is here"
Rosie turned to Amber, "Bye bye Amber"
Officer Wiggs took a hold of Rosie's hand, "Ok. Now let's go" He helped her into the car.
Rosie looked over to see the blankets on Margaret's chest, "The patient's breathing, we need to get her to the hospital!"
Mordecai walked out of the woods, holding his daughter's head, "I'm sorry Allie but we can't find her. I'll see if she ran home" He ran up the street, to see a policeman wrapping the front door in caution tape, he saw the bird running up to him.
"Sir! You can't come here! There's been a accident" The man exclaimed.
Mordecai shouted, "No, this is my house, my girlfriend and her daughter! Can you drive me to the hospital?"
The policeman nodded, "Yes. I will" He dropped the tape and ran to his car, signaling Mordecai over.
"WAIT! I need to get something" He ducked under the tape and ran to the blood. He looked down and swiped an item. He headed out the door only to see Katie Mordy, "You too" He lifted her up then darted out the door.
The hospital:
Mordecai was escorted to where Rosie was kept while Margaret was in surgery. The blue jay found a nurse holding a clipboard,
"Hi, can you help me find Rosaline Mavis Haddad?" Mordecai asked.
The nurse nodded, "Rosaline…such a cute girl" They headed to a area that didn't look too good.
There was a giant window that you could look into the room, Rosie was in it with a man. The man watched her pick up toys and play with them, he held a clipboard and wrote things down.
Mordecai asked, "Uh…why is she here?"
The nurse spoke again, "We do believe Rosaline has some trauma from the experience"
"How bad is it?" Mordecai asked as he looked into the room:
The doctor looked up, "Rosaline, we need to know what you remember from Henry"
Rosie looked at him, "He liked to kiss me" She picked up a doll, looking around innocently, "Where's da dollhouse?"
The man shook his head, "We don't have a dollhouse, that's a doll children use"
"Dats silly" She sat the doll down and lifted the lid to the toy-bin, "No dollhouse for dollies?" She dug through the bin.
He sighed, "Rosaline, what do you remember Henry would do to your mother?"
Rosie found a cowboy doll, "You're not Woody!" She tossed the doll aside, "He hurt her a lot"
Mordecai pointed, "Rosaline's fine. She's just not interested in talking about Henry. For crying out loud the man tried to rape her countless times"
The nurse nodded, "Yes but we do see she is now unable to focus," She pointed, "we've asked her about twenty questions and no certain replies"
Mordecai lifted Katie Mordy, "Can I see her?"
"What is that?" The nurse asked, looking at Katie Mordy.
The blue jay sighed, "It's a doll, I gave it to her the day before we left to live here. She lost her old doll when Henry attacked where I worked." He sighed, "Ever since then this doll was sorta like a protector. It protected her when I wasn't around"
The nurse nodded, "Fine"
Mordecai opened the door causing Rosie to turn, "DADDY!" She shrieked, running into his leg, "Daddy! Daddy! I missed you!"
The blue jay took her into a hug, "I missed you too Rose" He lifted Katie Mordy up, "I brought her"
Alice giggled, pulling on the doll's hair, "Gah bah!"
Rosie hugged the doll, "Dank you Daddy" She then looked at Katie Mordy, "did you pwotect Mama and Allie while I ran?"
The blue jay smiled, "She did. And Katie Mordy told me all about on the way here" He sat down cross-legged putting Alice in his lap, "She said that she sat by Mama and kept Alice company"
Rosie hugged her doll, "I wuv you Katie Mordy"
Mordecai smiled, stroking her cheek, "You worried Daddy for a moment. I thought Henry took you and Mama and I would never see you again"
The little red bird ran into her father's wing, "Hakuna Matata Daddy" She hugged him tight.
"Hakuna Matata means no worries" He whispered, hugging her back.
The nurse awed at the moment then went down the hall, Mordecai spoke, "Ok. Rosie, you just need to answer questions for this man then we'll see Mama"
Rosie nodded her head, "Yes Daddy" She hugged Katie Mordy then climbed out of his lap, "I'll be a gwood gwirl" She sat on the ground and smiled.
Mordecai got off the ground and patted Alice's head, "Let's go visit Mama" He closed the door behind him and headed down to General Surgery.
A few hours later:
Mordecai was finally allowed to see Margaret, she laid in bed wearing a hospital gown and white sheets draped her body, "Hey Mordecai" She smiled.
The blue jay sat in a chair and took her hand, "Hello my love"
She smiled, "Oh look at my Alice. I made it"
"Yes. You did. I'm so proud of you" Mordecai kissed her hand.
Margaret took Alice into her wings, "Oh my poor baby" She kissed Alice's cheek.
The blue jay smiled, "She missed her mommy"
"I'm sure she did…" Margaret smiled, "Mommy's never going to leave. I promise"
Alice cooed, staring at her mother, "Wah! Gah!"
Mordecai tickled his daughter's chin, "Rosie's in a trauma-center"
The cardinal nodded, "I understood she'd be there" She stroked Alice's cheek, "I miss my baby. Can they bring her to me?"
Mordecai nodded, "Yea" He exited the room.
Shortly, Rosie and Mordecai headed into the room, Mordecai smiled, "Rosie, Mommy's all better"
Rosie looked up and smiled, "Hi Mama"
"Hi my little angel" She whispered, "How are you?"
"Terrific!" The little bird sang, clapping her hands.
Margaret giggled, "That's great Rosie. Mommy and Daddy will take you home in a few hours ok?"
Rosie nodded, "Yes Mama"
Mordecai reached into his pocket, pulling out a red stone necklace, "Here" He handed it to Margaret.
The cardinal giggled, placing it around her neck, "Thank you. I missed wearing it"
"I missed you" He kissed her.
Yes. Of course Margaret would live. So Henry's dead, leaving a few more cronies to be out there. Uh…next chapter will possibly be a summer chapter, then a lot of happy chapters for awhile.
