21. Fierce Battles Begin

- Good..bye… Sha..de.. - whispered Lucinda before being engulfed inside the darkness once more.

- Lucinda..? - Shade said looking around.

"I thought I heard her voice just now… Was it.. my imagination?" he thought looking at the ground.

- Otouto? - Cassy asked concerned, walking towards her brother.

- I think… I heard Lucinda's voice.

- How's that possible? - Lucia asked, she had been keeping an eye on Shade since earlier.

- I don't know.. She sounded like she had been crying as she said 'Goodbye Shade' - he explained as he looked at the older sister.

- What?! - almost everyone asked shocked, they have been eavesdropping.

- Only lovers can have that kind of connection.. - explained an uncertain Rose, it couldn't possible be that..? She hoped no.

- Could it be because we kissed..? - Shade mumbled to himself.

- You kissed Princess Lucinda?! How dare you touch her with your dirty hands?! - Jin shouted grabbing Shade by the collar of his shirt.

The blond prince just looked at the ground.

- Jin, put him down - ordered Lucia to the black haired prince.

The prince looked at her before throwing Shade on the ground. He glared at him before walking back to the main group.

- What did you do to my sister? - Lucia asked, glaring at the blonde prince on the ground.

Shade looked at her before back at the ground.

- We had a fight after she woke up… Then she came to Fire City, probably to say sorry, but I didn't let her.. I was too angry..

- You were angry with my sister for not telling you about her condition? - Lucia guessed.

Shade shook his head. - I was angry with myself.. I was angry that I couldn't protect her and that I ended up blaming her for it.

- So what happened after?

- We had another fight while I was showing her around.. I left her in the garden, where she probably met my sister..

- That's right. I found Lucinda in the garden alone and she looked like she was about to cry - explained Cassy.

- Continue - Lucia said looking at Shade, more like glaring daggers at him.

- After dinner I was supposed to take her home but.. Right before that I told her to not come near me anymore, she asked me why and I said it was because I hated her.

- What did you say?! - shouted Lucia ready to punch the prince.

Fortunately for him, Kazune stopped her together with Rose, who were now occupied with holding her back and couldn't kick his ass themselves.

- Why did you… say… something like that to… Lucinda-chan..? - sobbed Endy.

- I don't know… I even kissed her and told I felt nothing while doing so.. - Shade said while looking utterly desperate.

- How could you…! - shouted Jin running towards the other prince to punch or kick him, or both.

Before he could get any closer, Lucia had already slapped the blond in the face very hard, enough to send him flying a few meters away from her.

She walked towards him and grabbed the collar of his shirt, she looked directly into his eyes.

- It's because of you! Because of you my little sister is in that situation! - she shouted as tears came down her eyes.

- To make up for it, I will save her. No matter what happens, I will save her! - declared Shade with determination.

Lucia glared at him and let go off of his shirt.

- I don't care what happens to you… Just save… please save my sister.. because you are the only that can probably do that - she said giving him her back while she tried to keep in the tears.

Shade nodded and stood up.

- I.. I think I know where Lucinda is.. - he said.

Lucia turned around, her face was red and there were still tears in her eyes.

- Go, we will follow you.

Shade only nodded and started flying towards The City, where he could feel, if only faintly, Lucinda's presence.

Everyone else soon followed.

"Lucinda.. I will save you, no matter the cost…" the blond prince thought as he flew over the vast crystalline ocean.

It didn't take long before they reached The City at the speed they were flying.

- Why the capital? - asked James curiously.

- She's here, I can feel it - answered Shade, flying towards the castle.

Everyone followed without questioning his navigation system.

They were now walking inside the palace and they could all feel the dark oppressing magic in the air.

Finally they reached the throne room, where they found Luci lying on the throne eating fruits.

- It seems we have some unexpected guests - she said throwing away the plate with the food.

- Give… Give back Lucinda-nechan! - Endy shouted, trying to glare at Luci.

- That's right! - shouted Daisuke standing next to Endy.

Kazune stopped the two kids before they could get hurt seriously.

- Endy, please calm down and try not to get involved in the battle that's surely about to start, that goes for Daisuke too - he ordered them.

- Lucinda is already dead, morons - laughed Luci with a crude tone.

- You are lying! I heard her voice - shouted Shade.

- Oh, you must be Shade. The guy that helped me take over -stated Luci smirking at him.

Shade was shocked to hear this but.. Deep down, he knew it was the truth.

- That's… not true… - he mumbled.

- You are quite the liar, aren't you? You said you understood her but… You never understood anything.

The prince looked at the ground with guilt. All that person was saying was true..

- I.. I want to atone for my mistakes.. - he whispered.

- …Shade - Jin said looking at him, anger and pity mixed in his voice.

- I don't need your pity, Jin - growled Shade glaring at him.

- Who would pity someone like you?! - asked the other boy enraged.

- Obviously not you…

- Are you guys done fighting? Because I'm getting bored over here - asked Luci with a yawn.

The two boys looked at her.

- I will beat you and bring back Lucinda - declared Shade with determination, he then went to the attack.

- You are boring - Luci said dodging all the attacks.

- Fire Blaze! - shouted Shade.

Slowly in his hands a fireball was being formed, which he then threw at Luci. As the fireball advanced towards the enemy it grew in size, becoming bigger and bigger.

- It's futile - Luci said and simply shook off the attack with one hand.

- Let's help him - Cassy shouted.

Everyone nodded, apart Jin, who just rolled his eyes.

- Lightning Shock! - shouted Karen.

She created two spheres made with electricity with both hands then she got closer to Luci and hit her.

- I will help you, sis! Lightning Wave! - shouted James.

He created an electric wave that hit Luci dead-on.

- Venus Tornado! - shouted Marie.

Suddenly a tornado made of orange dust appeared and advanced towards Luci, who was able to dispel it with difficulty after all she got injured by the earlier attacks she couldn't avoid.

- Water Columns! - shouted Lucia.

She pointed in Luci's direction and a few seconds later from the ground erupted giant water columns.

- Shade-nisan - Endy said, pulling Shade's sleeve to get his attention.

- What is it? - asked Shade, always keeping an eye on the on-going battle.

- Let's unite our attacks! Like that we can create an even stronger one.

- Okay, let's try. At my 3. 1….2…..3.. Destructive Magic!

Shade was surrounded by a column of fire but it was blue and cold.

- Fire Magic! - shouted Endy.

He too was surrounded by a column of fire, it was a normal fire.

The two columns united and became one but the two different types of fire were still visible.

- FIRE MAGIC VORTEX! - the two shouted at the same time.

The fire vortex went directly towards Luci and hit her, not giving her time to defend herself.

- AHH! - cried Luci in pain.
