Normal POV
'It have been days…' she thought to herself. 'Where are they?'
'Where are my friends?'
The green eyed girl stood in the center of a white room, covered in splatters of blood. Her ash blonde hair was no more, now replaced with black. She didn't dye it, no. It just became that way. Why? It is madness, it's in her. It has always been. Madness have never left her nor have she ever left madness. Some people think of madness as a state of mind or a force even but who could ever guessed that it was a place?
Maka didn't know what her conscious self was doing. It felt as if she's in eternal sleep, never ending. She was now conscious as her dreamself. She was in her kingdom, her wonderland; The Joker's Wonderland. For the past few months, she could roam free in her own wonderland but now she is trapped, in a white room. You could say that she was waiting, waiting to see someone again. This time, she decided to break free from this secluded room that have been draining away her strength and sanity.
Maka kicked the walls, punched it and clawed it. She tried everything that would've gotten her out but nothing worked. "Blasted walls…" she hissed.
"Your attempts are in vain, little girl…." A voice whispered. Maka clicked her tongue and furrowed her eyebrows, "Oh, it's you again".
"Do you need help?"
"Of course".
"I'll give you a hint".
Maka sighed and crossed her arms across her chest. "Quickly then, tell me," Maka said impatiently.
"All along, you've been rejecting the madness in you or around you…"
The girl rolled her eyes, "Yes, I know. How is this supposed to help me?"
"You shouldn't be rejecting it. You should accept it, the madness".
Maka stayed silent for a while before opening her mouth to speak. "Why?"
"You can't live without madness, Maka. You need it".
"You're supposed to CONVINCE me," the raven haired girl muttered under her breath.
"You're the Joker yes?"
"Tsk," Maka clicked her tongue before giving a slight nod.
"Your very existence is made out of madness, you feed off them, your soul is not corrupted by them, and it is instead MADE by them".
Maka's eyes widened slightly and her shoulder relaxed. "Your point is?"
"By rejecting madness, you're rejecting your very soul".
Her emerald eyes stared at the floor, wide open. 'All this time, I've been rejecting my own soul?' Suddenly, the room started to crack. Maka looked around, confused to what's going on. The white room quickly shattered before leaving Maka standing in the middle of a field. Finally, she's free, free from the shackles of sanity.
Now to her, sanity was a nuisance. It is merely something that will confine her in her own wonderland, the very wonderland that she ruled. She needs to wake up, wake up from this dream of hers. She needed to protect her friends. God knows what Caiyt is planning to do?
Maka inhaled deeply. "WAKE UP YOU PATHETIC GIRL!" Maka screamed. "WAKE UP!"
oOo
Suddenly, her eyes fluttered open. Her lifeless white eyes are now back to emerald, but pale emerald. She looked around, Maka was sitting on a velvet couch. Caiyt sat across from her, she looked at Maka.
"Oh, the fluid has worn off…" she muttered before jabbing a syringe filled with said fluid into Maka's arm.
"Caiyt, what have you done?" Maka hissed.
"Nothing significant…"
Caiyt, expecting her little experiment to be lifeless was stunned to see the fluid take no action. There was a sinister glint in Maka's eyes and she put on a smirk that was oh so sinister.
"It looks like your concoction isn't working this time, Caiyt…"
"My plan…. NO….NO!"
Maka stood up and walked over to the witch. The witch scowled at the girl, "NOTHING WILL STOP ME FROM DESTROYING SHIBUSEN!"
The witch took out another syringe, filled with black fluid. "With your blood, NOTHING WILL STOP ME." She raised her hand before plunging the syringe down into her other arm. She began to shake before being engulfed in white smoke.
Maka was appalled at what she was seeing. It was herself.
Caiyt smirked, "Oh look, I'm you~" The witch twirled around, her now ash blonde hair flowing behind her. "Well then, isn't this interesting?"
Maka furrowed her eyebrows, "NO!"
Caiyt said her goodbyes and disappeared into thin air.
"Shit!"
Maka immediately broke out from Caiyt's manor and dashed straight off to Death City. She couldn't let Caiyt fool her friends, no, Caiyt have done ENOUGH to her and her friends and this is the last straw.
oOo
"What do we do?" The son of Death asked. He and the rest have been discussing about this for almost half an hour now. Unfortunately, they haven't figured out a good plan to rescue Maka. He looked around, everybody was silent, and they were all thinking you see? Thinking hard. Kid turned his gaze to Stein, "What do you think, Hakase?"
"Give me a minute".
Kid sighed softly but only to be surprised to hear a loud bang. Everyone stood up in response and turned looked around worriedly.
"Dante, was that you?!" Camellia scolded.
Dante scowled, "What? No!"
"Hey guys, you might want to look in front of you," Jun stammered.
"MAKA?!" Everyone else yelled in unison.
There stood in the doorway of the Death Room, an ash blonde girl. "Guys!" she yelled in desperation. She ran towards them and stopped to breathe. "I managed to free myself from Caiyt," she said in between pants.
Kid placed his hands on her shoulders, "How did you escape?"
"After the effects of the fluid worn off, I managed to distract her before heading straight to Death City."
The girl gently placed her hands on top of Kid's. "I know what we have to do to stop her," she said. She looked around at everyone, "All you need to do is follow me".
"Of course—"
Kid was interrupted by the sound of someone calling Lord Death trough his mirror.
"Eh?" Lord Death went to answer it, "Who could it be?"
"Shinigami-sama!"
In the mirror, showed a raven haired girl with green eyes, the real Maka.
"Shinigami-sama, it's me, Maka. I'll explain everything else later but now all you need to do is—"Her sentence was cut short with her gasping.
She furrowed her eyebrows and clenched her fists, "YOU!"
Her furious gaze was directed to the ash blonde girl standing next to Kid, holding his hand.
The ash blonde girl smirked, "Stop pretending to be me you impostor!"
"You're the one pretending to be me and you're calling me an impostor?!"
"PLEASE! What are you saying, Caiyt?!"
The raven haired girl's eyes burned in fury, "I am NOT that stupid bitch! Now let go of Kid's hand!"
"I'm his girlfriend, I have the right to do it!"
"No, YOU ARE NOT!" At this point, Maka was already punching the mirror.
The ash blonde girl's eyes glinted sinisterly, she turned to Kid, "Kid, we have to go now! She's trying to trick all of us!"
Kid was constantly changing his gaze from the ash blonde girl to the raven haired girl and back. "What's going on?"
"Caiyt's pretending to be me, Kid. We have to go NOW," she said, pointing towards the raven haired girl.
"YOU BITCH!"
"Guys, let's go! Out of the room NOW!"
They all followed the fake Maka's instructions, leaving the room immediately before being followed by Kid and herself.
The real Maka was now still screaming.
"CAIYT!"
"CAIYT!"
"YOU BETTER REPENT!"
They were all already out of the room by then, leaving the real Maka in tears.
"I'VE WARNED YOU!"
The call ended with the mirror being shattered into pieces. As they others were running, Maka's voice echoed through the hallways.
"Maka, where are we going?" Liz asked.
"To the training field. Trust me!"
Trust me.
'How stupid,' the ash blonde girl thought to herself, a sinister smirk plastered on her face as they reached the field.
"You guys are really stupid," she said aloud.
This series is soon coming to an end guys! ^^"
