Yes. Okay.

So I've come to a decision. Now, I'm not sure if this will be a decision that everyone likes, but this is how it's going to be.

I will be doing a rewrite of this story.

However, before you say anything, let me tell you something vital. When I do get around to writing this rewrite - as I stated in my previous author's note, I already have two other fics in progress, and I want to finish at least one of them before I add another story to my list of responsibilities - I will be making one big alteration to Mist.

As you know in this version, this one right here, Mistpaw's story takes place alongside The Three's prophecy.

That will not be the case in the rewrite.

Instead, the new version will take place in the far future, after all of the cats we know have already died and moved on to StarClan/Dark Forest/wherever the heck they go. It will be an OC only story.

I will explain to you why I have chosen to do this.

One, because I feel as if The Three's prophecy and The Unseen Powers' prophecy would clash too much. There would be too much confusion, and I may end up messing something up of leaving behind a big gaping, unsolved plot-hole by the end of it. I'm a spontaneous writer - sometimes I just write before I plan. (YES, I FINALLY ADMIT TO IT. This fact has been the downfall of so many stories and ideas.)

So, I figure I can't mess it up like that or hit a dead end if I don't give myself the opportunity to. But that's only one of the reasons I've decided to do it like this.

My second reason is that I just feel awkward and nervous when I'm writing about characters that aren't my own. I love the Erin's cats, I really do, but I just don't like writing them into my stories. I'm not too good at characterizing characters that I didn't create anyway, so yeah.

My third reason is that I think this story kind of always would have been better as an OC-only story to begin with. It's hard to explain, but good for you if you understand what I'm trying to get at here.

And there you have it.

I hope you didn't get turned away by what I've decided to do. I mean, getting rid of all of the canon characters WILL alter the plot in some ways, but overall, it will stay the same. You'll still have Mistpaw and Stoneheart, and their strange, hateful relationship. Cedarpaw will still be that psychopath who tries to murder Mistpaw.

I really hope you guys will stick around for this when I finally do embark on this journey again for the third time(still find it hard to believe that this is round three for Mist. Where has all the time gone since I first cooked this idea up years ago?). I'll try and make it as entertaining as possible.

So...now I'm off to write the next chapter of Lost(or maybe Heartless instead)...which may or may not get posted today. Haha. *grins nervously*
