"Katniss!"

Katniss woke up, her head back on a soft pillow-y object. She hadn't a clue of where she was, or how she got there. When she tried to sit up, she fell back, a sudden pain coursing through her neck and back.

A deep voice said beside her, "Take it easy, Katnip." She adverted her eyes to where the voice had come from, seeing Gale. She let out a breath of relief.

She shakily asked, "W-where are we?" Gale looked down.

"District 13." Katniss looked incredulously at him.

She said, "What? What about 12?" Gale reached for her hand, taking hers in his.

He said, "District 12 was bombed. There is no District 12."

Once Katniss regained her consciousness after fainting, she instantly asked about her family, Prim and her mother. Gale said that Prim was still in the Games and her mother was in the medical hospital, treating wounded people. Katniss was then asked about his family. He revealed that after he got Katniss and her mother to safety, he had gone back, only to see his house blow up, everyone inside, only a few feet away. Katniss engulfed him in a hug. Whether Gale liked his parents or not, she still felt for him - she imagined it felt much life when she had lost her father.

After being taken to her sleeping quarters, her mother, Gale, and her gather on the sofa and couch, near the fire place. They were actually given a chance to not watch the Hunger Games. Even though Katniss honestly didn't want to know, she had to ask.

"How's Prim?" Katniss' gave her a small smile.

Mary remarked, "Prim's doing fine...she has an alliance with some of the strongest of tributes," Mary sourly added, "Haymitch is with her." Katniss only paid attention to the first the her mother had said - she's alive.

Katniss inquired, "Who's in her alliance?" Gale was the one who answered.

Gale answered, "Finnick and Mags from 7, Haymitch from 12, and Seeder from 11." Katniss shrugged. Gale and Mary exchanged glances, having a silent conversation. Gale nodded, and Mary stood.

Mary smiled and looked over to Katniss, "Goodnight, Katniss." Katniss spared her a glance.

She said, "Night, mom." Once Mary left, Katniss looked at Gale questioningly.

Katniss asked, "What's going on?" From there, Gale proceeded to tell Katniss the 'big plan.' Gale told her about what had happened to District 13 after the bombing, the rebellion, and how they were planning to rescue Prim from the Hunger Games. Gale mentioned how important Prim is to the rebellion, calling her the key to the uprising. Gale told Katniss who the president of what's now District 13, President Coin. Once he was done, Katniss was speechless.

Katniss asked, "How-how are we going to get Prim out?" Gale smirked.

Gale responded, "District 13 had the job of nuclear weapons, like District 1 has luxury and District 12 had coal and mining. They made hovercrafts and trained pilots. We're going to disguise ourselves with the same hovercrafts they use, breaking through the force field, bringing your sister here." Katniss was still confused.

"And why do they need Prim for the rebellion?" Gale sighed.

Gale said, "She defied the Capitol. She was the one that sparked the rebellion. Prim is the one that started everyone." Katniss frowned.

"Then...that's why they had all of the Victors go into the Games...to show that the Capitol was still in charge." Gale nodded.

Katniss murmured, "My-my sister...my little sister, Prim, the most caring, non-violent person sparked the rebellion...it's so ironic." Katniss let a few tears fall, leaning into Gale's chest.

Of course - her sister Prim was the one who sparked the rebellion. Her sweet, innocent, caring sister was the one - of course it was! Ha! Katniss amused the thought. But at the same second she did that, she let it go. Katniss knew it was no laughing matter - there was a rebellion rising!

Katniss shivered with fear, bringing her covers closer to her chin.

The Lord only knew what would happen tomorrow.

Katniss woke up, stretching her arms.

She went into the kitchen to find her mom in the kitchen, busying herself like there was no tomorrow. Katniss cleared her throat.

"Mom?" Mary turned around, not paying attention to what Katniss had said. Katniss instantly knew something was wrong. Katniss walked up to her mom, taking her by the shoulders.

Mary said, "They are going to go and get her tomorrow night. They're going to go get Prim." Katniss nodded.

She said, "I'm going to go with them." Mary looked up.

She asked, "What? You're-you're going with them to get her? It's too dangerous! Has Coin even agreed to it?" Katniss nodded.

"Coin said she wanted Peeta and I to be there when they get Prim." Mary shook her head.

She answered, "No, no, Katniss, I won't allow it. It's too dangerous. What if the Capitol shoots it down? What if they know about-?" Katniss cut her off.

She said, "Mom, I'm going to get your daughter - my sister. I'm turning eighteen in a couple of months - it's time for me to make my own choices." Mary remained quiet for a couple of seconds before pulling Katniss into a huge hug.
