"Ma!" Damon yelled for the tenth time that day, asking her mother to come to Mystic Falls with them would have easily been the best and worst idea ever. Her mother actually did a happy dance when Elena asked his mother to accompany them to Mystic Falls. The happiness on his mother's face made him smile, but they had to leave in five minutes and his mother was taking more time than necessary.
Grace gave his son a stern look silencing him altogether. She had to say goodbye to Lexi and she will. His son was always impatient. She carefully walked the path towards Lexi's house as it was only a one minute walk.
"Lexi?" She decided to just open the door to her house. Lexi never minded and it was a habit now, she walked towards the kitchen where she could hear her voice from.
"You don't get it Mason! They're leaving today and I don't know when they'll be back. Mystic Falls is a small town, I can't risk them seeing me. You can take good care of yourself. Just stay out of trouble and don't ask me to come back!" She heard Lexi yell into her phone. Her feet were glued to the ground. What was this girl talking about? What trouble? She didn't know what to do so she opted walking out of the house without the blond noticing her.
"Hey? You okay?" She looked up to see the concerned eyes of her son observe her. He looked so much older than his age. The problems in his life weren't enough, she didn't feel like burdening her with something that might not be something at all. For all she knows Lexi could be talking about something entirely.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just the heat." She smiled warmly at his son who seemed to be satisfied with the answer.
"Elena!" Grace rolled her eyes when his son now yelled for Elena.
"She is pregnant, Damon." His mother glared at him.
"I'm here, I'm here!" She yelled walking a little too fast for a twenty-weeks pregnant woman. With Christal in her hands.
"You are never going to listen!" He yelled and walked towards her halting her altogether. He took hold of Christal from her and glared at her.
"Whatever." Elena rolled her eyes and walked past him.
"Are you all ready?"
*DE*DE*DE*
The car ride till Mystic Falls had been a pure disaster. It was by far the worst taste of hell he'd ever tasted. With Christal being uncomfortable and crying after every 15 minutes and Elena asking him for loo breaks every 20 minutes combined with his mother complaining about the car speed. It was hell. Worst even.
They had finally arrived and Caroline was already over eating his ears off. This was not what he needed. He needed his girlfriend to cuddle with and just sleep. He was grumpy because his girlfriend seemed far too comfortable with Caroline questioning and fawning over her. Needless to say, his girlfriend was enjoying each moment of attention she received.
"Damon!" He stopped mid step when he heard Caroline yelling after him. He was caught and now there seemed to be no out.
"Yes, Caroline?" He turned around a gave Caroline the best fake smile ever. She walked till where he was and dragged him down with her.
"Caroline! We are not gonna run away overnight. You have tbe whole day tomorrow." He whined, but didn't stop her from dragging him.
"Oh, shut it. You'll be fine!" She playfully rolled her eyes at him and he groaned.
"Common Damon, we've been away for long. You can always sleep later." Elena gave a smile and he was gone. Man was he whipped? He still pretended to fuss about it, but Elena knew better. She just gave him a cheeky smile and he tried his own best not to smile. He was supposed to be grumpy. Not smile like an idiot.
"Oh, Elena you look so beautiful!" Caroline exclaimed for the tenth time that day. She had a dreamy look in her eyes, so did everyone around her. She looked breathtaking and he knew it.
The girls talked about new fashion trends and he tried not to laugh when Elena pouted that she couldn't fit in anything sexy anymore, while he talked to Klaus about the business. It was relaxing in a way. No matter how big and beautiful his childhood home was, he still loved this place. It was his safe haven from his dad and it was Kat and Elijah's. He always felt close to them here and he knew Elena loved this place. So did he.
"It's late Elena. Christal needs to sleep, so do you." He said some thirty minutes later when Caroline grumbled saying that they barely talked anything, but he knew Elena was tired and he was not gonna let Elena over exert herself or let Caroline do that.
"Common Caroline, we can always come tomorrow. They must be tired." Klaus wrapped an arm around Caroline when she started pouting.
"Fine, take care Elena. You too Damon. Bye Grace." She bid everyone a goodbye and left.
"Ahh, my ears are finally at peace!" Damon yelled dramatically covering his ears.
"Ugh, Damon you're such a drama queen!" Elena hit him with a pillow.
"Me? 'Oh Elena, you look so beautiful. Oh Elena, you look beautifully huge.' Beautifully huge? What type of a compliment is that?" He mimicked Caroline's voice and her expressions and Elena laughed out loud.
"Whatever, I am too tired." She stood up and gave Grace a hug who was busy reading from a book and walked towards the stairs.
"Are you coming?" She asked and he nodded.
They both helped Christal to her nursery who clearly seemed to be enjoying being in her own house.
"Goodnight angel." Elena leaned down a kissed her forehead.
They turned off the light to her room and walked towards their own room.
"So, are you excited?" Damon wrapped an his arms around from behind and she leaned into his embrace.
"Understatement honey. I'm ecstatic." She looked up from her shoulder and he leaned down to kiss her. They had an appointment tomorrow where they'd know the sex of the baby.
"I could still never get used to it. Used to this. It all seems so surreal. A year back I'd never thought I'd be in love with you and pregnant with your child." She turned around completely resting her head on his chest.
"I know." He replied matching a tone. "If a year ago anyone would've said that I'd have a girlfriend? And a baby soon? I would've laughed in their face. Guess not anymore." He kissed her hair and she looked back up at him.
"I love you, Damon. I can't imagine a life without you." She said her eyes swimming with emotions. He felt his insides warm with a tingly feeling in his heart. He should be afraid, shouldn't he? But he wasn't. He knew that moment right there that he wanted to spend his whole life with her.
"I love you more." He smirked at her and leaned down to kiss her. She still made him feel so many things, he would never get enough of her and he'd make sure to be worthy of her love.
They just stood there for a minute savouring the moment.
"I can't wait for it to come." She said looking back up at him while gently caressing her belly.
"Neither can I." He said placing his hand over hers. "Daddy can't wait for you buddy, come soon." He said rubbing her belly, just then he felt his storm kick and he smiled.
"Looks like he or she can't wait too." Elena smiled warmly at him and that image would never leave his mind. That moment right there. She looked happy and she was his.
*DE*DE*DE*
"So we can at least pick a name for both cases right?" They both were lying on the bed while she had her head rested on his chest as she traced patterns on his stomach.
"I know the perfect name." He said playing with her hair with his one hand behind his head.
"What?" She looked up at him curiously.
"Laura if a girl and Damon if a boy." He winked at her and she rolled her eyes.
"I don't like Laura and neither do I like Damon." She rolled his eyes and he pouted.
"You don't like Damon?" He asked her still pouting.
"Nope. I love him." She gave him a cheeky grin and he chuckled.
"How about Ashley, Abby,Madison,Jennifer?" He shot names after names.
"I like Ashley." She smiled saying the name in her mind. 'Ashley Salvatore' " Drake, James, Nathan, Lucas, Ian?" She suggested baby boy names.
"I like Lucas. It means light." He smiled thinking of both the lights in his life. "Two lights of my life."
"Wow Damon. Way too cheezy." She rolled her eyes playfully but she was beaming. "I like Ian better."
"Lucas." He argued.
"Ian." She argued back."Damon, I'm the mother I get to choose." She whined.
"You wouldn't be one if it wasn't for me." He winked at her and she rolled her eyes to cover her blush.
"Whatever. It's still Ian."
"Nope it's Lucas." She smiled at him trying her best to convince him. She rolled over straddling him and leaned down as much as she could with her belly to brush a soft kiss on a spot near his ear.
"Please Damon?" She whispered huskily and he closed his eyes. A smile he could of managed to ignore, but how was he supposed to ignore the full force of Elena Gilbert seduction?
"No.." He wanted it to come out firm but it was more of a wisper. She ignored him as she slowly trailed her finger from his neck to his chest. "Elena..No." He managed to voice it out, trying his best to protest still.
She wiggled her hips a little, "Lucas Ian...Salvatore." He mumbled gone too far to think what was happening. He wanted to push her away, but he was enjoying it far too much for him to push that away.
"What?" He groaned and snapped his eyes open when Elena stopped kissing him.
"What, what?" He asked repeating her question.
"What did you say?" She asked and he strained his brain, trying to remember what he said.
"Lucas Ian Salvatore?" He said unsure if that was what he said.
"Oh my god Damon! It's perfect!" She clapped her hands and rolled off him and he groaned in annoyance. She definitely knew how to play her game.
"Mean." He glared at her and she chuckled. "But I like it too."
"Then I guess it's settled, Ashley Salvatore and Lucas Ian Salvatore!" Elena clapped her hands in excitement and he chuckled.
"Now where we?" His expression changed as he pulled her on top of him again.
"Damon no..." She giggled like a high school student.
"Damn yes."
*DE*DE*DE*
"Would you stop doing that?" She scolded him when he wouldn't stop shaking his leg.
"What? I'm nervous. What if something is wrong?" He asked his eyes wide with concern.
"Everything is gonna be fine Damon." She chuckled and squeezed his hand reassuringly. It was funny how she was the one pregnant, but Damon always was the one acting out of worry.
"Yeah, Yeah."
"Ms. Gilbert?" The nurse came out of the room." Dr. Bennett is ready for you." She gave them a smile and walked away.
"Let's go Damon." She held his hand and tugged at it. Forcing him to stand up.
"Bonnie!" Elena left his hand and ran towards the doctor who was going through some files. On listening to Elena's voice she looked up and gave her a smile. She was taken aback when Elena threw her hands around Bonnie who wasn't expecting it at all.
"Looks like someone is excited." She chuckled when Elena pulled away.
"More than you can imagine." Elena gave her a huge smile and she chuckled again. It was nothing new she was used to it.
"So, any complaints yet? Any complications?" Bonnie asked switching into doctor mode.
"A little backache and I these nasty headaches at times." Elena informed and bonnie nodded.
"That's normal, nothing seems wrong for now. Let's get your weight checked." Bonnie guided her towards the scale and Elena stepped on it hesitantly.
"Holy hell! I gained 12 lbs." Elena covered her face in surprise and both Bonnie and Damon laughed out loud on her overly dramatic response.
"What is so funny hah Damon?" She glared at him and he stopped laughing while he looked at Bonnie pleading and then back at Elena.
"I get it, Damon." Bonnie patted his back still laughing.
Elena grumbled something and stepped of the scale." It's normal for you to gain weight Elena." She gave Elena a smile who was still busy glaring at Damon. Who in turn was looking everywhere but at Elena.
They did a few more tests that came back normal and Elena practically jumped on the bed and waited for Bonnie to come and give her the news she was awaiting for.
Bonnie smiled and pushed Elena's gown up to expose her belly. Elena sucked in a breath when Bonnie applied the cold gel on her stomach. She winced a little when Bonnie applied a little pressure.
"Ah, there it is. Your tiger." The sound of her baby's heartbeat filled the room and she couldn't control her tears. "Perfect 26cm long with a steady heartbeat. Nothing wrong with this good baby here." Elena reached out for Damon's hand when he sighed in relief. Her anger long forgotten.
"So, do you want to know the sex of the baby?"
*DE*DE*DE*
"Ah, you're finally back! I've been worried sick. Is everything fine?" Grace asked as both Damon and Elena entered the house with silly grins on their face. Damon whispered something in her ear and she giggled and hit him on his chest playfully.
"Everything's fine Ma." Damon gave his mom a smile and she smiled back. Seeing her son happy made her heart swell with pride.
"So, what are you having!" Caroline yelled from the corner of the living room.
"Ugh, what is she doing here?" Damon murmured loud enough for Elena to hear who elbowed him. "Behave."
"Stop whispering you two and tell us if we're gonna have a baby boy Salvatore or a baby girl Salvatore?" Caroline looked between the couple expectantly.
Elena opened her bag to search for the sonogram pictures. She walked towards Grace and Elena to show them the pictures.
"Aww, that looks like a baby." Caroline cooed and Damon rolled his eyes.
"I know, blondie. It's shocking, we both were hoping for a horse." Damon fake pouted while propping his chin in his hand.
"Shut up, Damon!"
"So, what is it?" Caroline asked again and Elena looked at Damon who nodded his head with a light smile on his face.
"Everybody," Elena started taking a deep breath for dramatic effect.
"Meet Lucas Ian Salvatore."
Hey Everyone.
I'm so sorry there was no drama in this chapter, but I can't write without bawling my eyes out for this couple. I am heartbroken over the finale. I know Damon is going to be back, but still :(
"Do you see a future with me Damon? Because that's all I see."
"I've seen it since the moment I laid eyes on you."
"Don't leave me, Damon."
"I don't have a choice, baby."
