Hey everyone, I would like to apologize for the delay in updates. I had been busy with school and finals as well some personal issues. But now I am fully back and ready to update regularly.
On another note I want to thank everyone for their favorite and follow of the story…when I first started writing this I didn't expect it to become this popular. So every single favorite and followed means the world to me, and I will do my best to keep throwing up chapters and keep this story going to the very end. Please feel free to Review, if anything is anything is unclear or have suggestions I'm open for anything and everything will be appreciated.
The dreaded night was finally here, I let out a sigh and got out of bed. I had spent most of the day in it reading while all my dorm mates except for Hermione were freaking out about getting ready. With about an hour left, I pulled my dress out of my chest and removed its protective cover and decided to finally get ready. Charming my hair straight I pulled some of it back and held it back with a silver hair clip. Applying some make up and eyeliner giving myself a cat eye. Once happy with my face I put on a silver necklace and the bracelet Draco got me. Which made me sigh, he hadn't asked me to go with him so I was going with Taylor instead. Slipping in my dress and then my heels which my mother insisted I should get considering that I'm on the shorter side. Once happy with my appearance I left and headed to the great hall.
Once on top of the stairs before the hall I let out a nervous sigh. I turned and smiled when I saw Hermione, and she looked beautiful in her dress. "Hey..." "Hey…you look nice." She smiled and looked down. "Thank you…you look great too, that emerald green looks good on you…well I should go…victor is waiting…" I smiled and watched her leave. "It's just a dance, just a dance…" Hearing Professor McGonagall announcing that the ball will soon start I decided to walk down the stairs. Walking down the stairs I smiled nervously as Taylor smiled at me. I was wearing and emerald green silk dress, that sat snugly around my torso and went around to the back of my neck, and the bottom of it was sitting against my hips before falling down to my feet. Lifting the skirt lightly as I walked down the stairs, I smiled brightly at Astoria reaction. She looked surprised to see me in a dress like this. But the best Reaction was from Parkinson whose jaw dropped. Draco turned and had the same reaction. Taylor walked over to me and offered his arm. "It seems to be working….let's put this show on the road" I smiled and walked into the hall together.
Standing of to the side with Taylor while the Champions started of the dance, I took in the hall and the decorations. Everything was so beautiful, making me glad that I decided to go after all. "Shall we?" I looked up at Taylor before looking at the dance floor, noticing several couples have joined the champions. "We shall…" He took my hand and led me onto the floor, waiting for the right rhythm before he started to lead the dance. Having practiced with him during our spare time I felt more confident in my dancing skill than before. After the first dance we moved off the floor laughing and took a seat with Zabini and Nott. "I'm surprised your brother learned to dance in the short amount of time…" "It surprised us all…" Zabini spoke as he watched Tanor Dancing with his date. We sat and chatted happily until there was a shift in music. The weird sisters came onto stage I practically jumped up and pulled Taylor onto the dance floor. "Come on this will be fun!" he laughed and followed and it was as much fun as I thought it would be. Dancing and jumping around, singing along with the band, it was bloody amazing out of breath and more exhausted than I thought I would be Taylor pulled me from the crowd. I stumbled lightly and held on to him laughing as we walked over to the table. I looked up and notice Draco, Crabbe, Goyle, and Parkinson had joined the other two boys who looked rather annoyed. I couldn't help but laugh as Theodore glared at the girl, and she didn't seem to get the hint. "Draco! How great of you to join us. How is your night going?" Taylor smiled placing an arm around me as I laughed. "Boring…just as expected…you seem to be enjoying yourself…" "I am, well we both are…you should try it...go dance with someone…or something..." We both sat down at the table, shutting Parkinson up. "I expected more of you Pretchet to ask out a Gryffindor as your date" She frowned as she looked at me. "Why wouldn't I ask Raven, we practically grew up together. She is like a sister to me and Tanor, so when she told me that she didn't want to go I asked her to go with me…you should really find out all your information before you jump to conclusions Parkinson." And that seemed to shut the girl up rather quickly. "So the two of you went as friends?" I turned to Draco who almost looked relieved at this information. "Yes, why wouldn't we" I smiled at him feeling my cheeks heat up lightly, before I turned away. Everything seemed to be calming down and students were slowly retiring and leaving. "I think their getting ready for the last Dance…." Taylor said as he leaned back in his seat. "It would seem so…I think I'm going to go…I'm getting tired." There was hiss from Draco who glared at Taylor for a moment before turning to me. "Too…tired for one last dance?" I had to bite back my Laughter as Parkinson turned to Draco. "I guess…one last dance won't hurt…"I smiled as he came around the table and offered his hand. "You don't mind Taylor?" "Go ahead...I had enough dancing for a few years…" I smiled and took Draco's hand as he guided me to the Dance floor.
And sure enough the last dance was announced as we got into position. It was a nice slow song as we both began to move to the music, as the lights were dimmed. His hands on my hips and mine on his shoulders, it seemed almost too perfect to be real. "I know why you haven't been talking to me and avoiding me…I noticed it too…" he looked at me with and guilty expression. "I didn't want to avoid you, I felt bad for doing it but….I didn't know how to react or act when I noticed it…that day on the quidditch field…I almost…" "Kissed me…." "Yeah….that. I almost kissed you..." "You say it like it's a bad thing…" "It's not how I meant for it to sound…I didn't think you would have wanted me to." "Maybe…..but perhaps I did want it…" He looked at me in surprise before smiling and pulling me closer to him. I wrapped my arms around his neck and smiled. "So you wouldn't mind?" I only smiled and said nothing else. I looked up at him placing my hand on his chest about to say something. But the music stopped and the lights returned to full brightness. I took a step back from him, only to have him take my hand and pull me out of the hall. He led me down a corridor by the courtyard and stopped when we reached a corner. "You look amazing tonight….My mother would have loved to see you like this. She seem rather fond of you." "Your mother is a rather lovely Lady," he smiled and brushed a strand of hair behind my ear. "You look absolutely beautiful…green is a beautiful color on you…" turning away I smiled and watched the snow falling as my cheeks burnt up with heat. "Sweet talker…." Feeling his fingers under my chin I closed my eyes as he moved my head to face him once again. I opened my eyes and smiled. "….so gorgeous…." He took a step closer to me. I placed my hands on his chest as he began to lean in, my eyes slowly closing.
My mind was racing, as was my heart as I waited for his lips to touch mine. Until a clearing of a throat tore us both out of the moment we both turned to the source, Professor Snape stood with his arms crossed. I was panicking not sure how to handle this situation so I did the first thing my mind told me to do, which was to push Draco away and I did. "Sev- Professor it's not what it looks like" He raised his eyebrow at Draco. "And then exactly what is it Mr. Malfoy?" "It's…Uhm..." He looked to me for help, but I was too petrified to do anything. "It's late I need to go…"Was all I could get out and tried to leave only to step on my dress and stumble. But I Never hit the ground. Instead Draco caught me and held me in his arms. "Mr. Malfoy…of to your house. I'll be making sure Ms. Celestral gets to hers safely." "Yes, Sir. " Draco helped me stabilize myself before slowly pulling away and walking off. I looked up at the professor and smiled nervously. "I figured out what you meant…" The man closed his eyes and let out a sigh. "I knew you would…now let's get you safely to your house…" I followed the man back inside the castle. Only to take my shoes of at the foot of the stairs. The walk was silent I occasionally glanced at the potions master before looking forward. Once at the portrait I turned to the man and smiled, "Thank you professor…I…had a question" "no need to thank me, I am doing my duty as a teacher...and what would that be?" I gathered all my courage and took a deep breath. "I was just wondering, you attended school with my mother, in the same year?" "What brings this question?" "Well that day in the storage…you seemed to know her pretty well, I was just curious." "Curiosity seems to be a Gryffindor trait…Curiosity kills the cat." "I don't think Professor McGonagall would appreciate that saying…or like it" He smirked. "Indeed she does not like it…hmm I surprised you are a Gryffindor, I could definitely see you in Slytherin…" I blinked a few times as the man turned away. "Professor?!" "To answer your question, yes. Your mother and I were in the same year...have a good night Ms. Celestral." I smiled before entering the common room, I was looking forward to sleep in my bed.
