Chapter 21
"DAGON!"
Melody screamed his name and ran towards where he had fallen. This set them all in action and also ran towards Dagon. Melody was sitting on the ground while grabbing Dagon's head and placing it on his head. Dorumon was crying because he didn't know if Dagon was alright. "You idiot don't strain your body like that!" she scolded him, Dagon reply was that he had a headache and Melody began using her magic to at lessen the pain he was in. Blue and white lights appeared on her hands and she placed them on his head to try to fix his headache. Dagon was starting to feel the pain go away and gave a sigh at the warm feeling spreading around his body.
"Dagon are you okay!" Dorumon shouted in concern for his partner. He almost lost him and all he could do was just sit back and watch him nearly get killed. "I'll be alright. I just need to sleep this off that's all." He replied to ease his and everyone else's worry for him. Dagon lowered his head making his eyes not be visible for them to see.
"Why go through all this for me." Dagon asked wanting to know what they really meant by becoming part of their family. " You all risked you lives for me, a stranger that showed nothing but hatred and cruelness towards you, I kept on insulting you all so why… damn it why would you still go this far for me." He managed to say with gritted teeth. Dagon was visibly shaking and Melody could only think about what could have made him shut out the world and close off his emotions.
"Because you are a child that has lost his light and needed to find it again." Everyone looked towards master and saw him starring at Dagon with a serious face. "You rejected everyone not to just spare your own feelings but theirs as well correct? You didn't want people to connect with you because you didn't want to feel a pain as similar to what you felt when whatever accident occurred to you in your past." Dagon just stared at him with shock as to how he could easily know what he was feeling all the time. "You joined this guild because you were interested by it is what you said, but what you really felt was something even you yourself didn't want to admit. You felt like you could be yourself again and could have those emotion restored by making friends with the other members. You never realized it but slowly you were becoming a part of the family that you refused to join."
Everyone just looked with happy smiles knowing that their master was right, even if Dagon was rude to them he had become someone that they could count on to tell them the truth, a man of honor, is what they all saw in Dagon. Sniffling was heard and turned to see Dagon with his head down but they could see the tears streaming down his face. Dagon felt like he didn't deserve this, knew that Master was right about him. He was running away from everyone but they all just kept waiting for him and knowing that they accepted him for the way he was made him feel happy and sad for the way he acted towards them all.
"You are not alone anymore Dagon. After all you are a member of our family… a member of Fairy Tail." No longer able to control himself he leaned backwards on Melody and used his arms to cover his face and just let it all out. The tears of sadness, of fear, of being alone it all just came out and Dagon couldn't stop himself from crying. Melody just looked at him with her own tearful smile and Dorumon just kept on crying for how relived he felt. Dorumon was happy because he knew that they made the right choice to join this guild. They had a family now a place to call home filled with wonderful friends, and most importantly Dorumon felt that for once Dagon was truly happy.
-I'm so happy about finally reaching this part. The next chapter will give more details about his backstory. I felt sad writing this part, but now we know everything will turn all right for Dagon and Dorumon…right?
