Chapter 21

A/N – I know it has been forever since my last update and I apologise to my loyal readers I have just been very busy completing my first year of law school but now I am free I hope to start up my writing again.

As usual I don't own anything that can be found in the books written by Joss I just own the original characters that were created in my head and the plot lines for this story.

Previously

Karla POV

I stood there watching Xav tickle Sky and saw how happy he looked, Xav loves Sky to pieces, and I glanced over at Zed who was laughing at the pair.

"Alright Xav that's enough let her breathe!" I shouted over trying not to laugh someone had to save Sky.

She stood up and thanked me before returning to Zed, "thanks for saving me!" she said sarcastically

"I'm sorry I just love seeing you so happy" aww my little boy is so sweet he reminds me of how Saul used to be when we first met more and more each day as he grows up.

"Alright go set the table dinners ready, and then go get your brothers!" I phone Saul and tell him to come home for dinner.

I love my family.

Sky POV

Thank god Karla stepped in to save me, all Zed was doing was standing laughing at me! I just stared at him with a scowl and my arms crossed but I knew he could see right through me, he knew I as not really mad at him. We sat down waiting for the brothers and Saul come before we started dinner. I loved how close we all were my whole life I was worried that I would never fit in or be accepted but this is the complete opposite, they took me in even when they thought I was crazy and was still brain washed by the Kelly's to destroy them and the savant net. It's strange to thing that up until I was 10 years old I had no family then Sally and Simon adopted me and I had my family at last and now with the Benedicts I have huge extended family! 6 brothers and a sister not to mention Karla and Saul who are like second parents to me, god knows I would never replace Simon and Sally!

Saul came in and kicked the snow off his boots, huh must have been at the ski lift again, he really takes pride in his business. I was so lost in my own thoughts that I hadn't noticed the table was full and everyone was eating. It was Phee who brought me out of my thoughts when she flicked my ear.

"Hey Sky, you okay? You have been staring into space for like 10 minutes now" Phee pointed out,

"Oh great, sky have you gone crazy on us again?" Xav questioned laughing but his laughter soon stopped when an impressive amount of pie and mash potato was slapped in his face.

Everyone was in tears they were laughing so much, even Karla!

"Usually I would be disappointed in whoever did that but I know who it was and I know Xav deserved it" Karla announced laughing still. Xav did not look impressed though, "who was it?! Zed was it you?" he demanded but Zed just shook his head.

"Nah man it wasn't me but I wish it was that is hilarious!"

"Well...who was it?" Xav was scanning the table until his eyes landed on me and I couldn't compose myself any more I bust out laughing, I was laughing so hard I nearly fell off my chair.

"Yeah it was me, you shouldn't have called me crazy!" I stated laughing at him but at the same time completely serious.

"Sorry sky, but this was not cool!" he stated pointing at his face and hair still covered in food.

"Xav go get yourself cleaned up and then come back and hopefully we can continue dinner without any more incidents" following Karla's instructions Xav walked away muttering something about why is it always him or something, I couldn't quite hear him especially with the odd snigger here and there from the table.

Zed POV

It was good to see Sky laugh and be tease Xav especially after what happened, as much as I wish I could wrap her up in bubble wrap and keep here safe I know I cant, she is the strongest of us all and we need her, I need her. And she can help Phee control he gifts more. I just bugs me that I still don't know what was up with her before and every time I try to ask my mom she changed the subject and blocks me out. Oh well I guess I just have to trust that Sky will tell me when she is ready.

Xav came back and we continued eating and talking planning how to help Phee control her gifts.

"Well along as I don't get butchered again, I don't care what methods we use" Yves said rubbing his arm where the knife cut him.

"Yeah sorry about that Phil has his own way of training and it does involve non conventional methods" victor pointed out and Phee glared at him.

"Yeah well those 'methods' could have gotten him killed!" she shouted while hugging Yves.

"No they wouldn't Phil is good at what he does he would never intentionally hurt someone or put another person at risk, well fatally anyway" Trace pointed out.

Phee just grumbled and went back to eating. Once dinner was over the conversation died down and on by one we left the table to go and do our own things "Erm where do you think you are going?" Mom called out we all froze dreading wheat came next, who was on clean up duty?

"Zed you clean the table, Urial dishes, Will dry and put away the dishes and Xav you can sort out the left over's" oh great I am part of the cleanup crew at least I get the easy one.

"Oh and Xav don't break anything" mom added before walking into the family room.

I cleared the table as quickly as I could so I could get back to Sky. When I was done I went into the family room but Sky wasn't there. Dad told me she was up stairs. As I walked up I heard laughter coming from our room. It was Sky and Phee, I smiled and stood in the doorway and watched them using telekinesis to juggle with a baseball and tennis ball. "thanks Sky this is a lot more relaxed and fun than the training sessions with Phil I can't believe I am doing this" Phee sounded so pleased with herself, she should be it is difficult learning this, I remember when sky tried it for the first time. Laughing at the memory I entered the room, they noticed me and the balls dropped onto the bed. I clapped, "impressive" I said smiling, Phee thanked me and left, and I presume it was to find Yves.

"She is getting good at that" I told sky as I lay down next to her, she lay down too and cuddled into my side.

"Yeah I didn't think I could teach her much but she said she is learning more from me than Phil, as long as it helps"

"Well you both have the same background, well sort of anyway, I think she feels like she can confide in you and because of that she feel comfortable asking you for help. It also helps that you are the strongest savant here."

"I don't think that true, I would have said your Mum is the strongest" I shook my head

"Nope you are definitely the strongest, what was it she told me? Oh yeah she said that you are a bridge. That explains why you can use telepathy from so far away and why you managed to throw trace over the fence with your telekinesis." I pointed out

She laughed at the memory "yeah that was fun" she said smiling.

We stayed cuddled up in bed for about half an hour until I noticed that Sky was asleep, I looked at the time, Wow 9pm already! I tucked Sky in bed and climbed in after. I pulled her to my chest and closed my eyes, letting sleep consume me.
