Some adorable pouty, toddler-y Sherlock and a cute cat. Basically this entire series. Enjoy! Thanks to all of my prompters, reviewers, favorites, and follows. You guys are the literal best!
At long last, Sherlock had recovered Smaug's favor! Not that he needed to curry favor to a cat, or win against John or anything. But Hamish was his cat and John was his John and when Sherlock was left out, well, he wasn't altogether too happy.
Smaug purred as Sherlock stroked his furry head, laying on a boneless Sherlock's stomach.
Finally, they were a team again.
"You will not tell John where my cigarettes are again," Sherlock said sternly, through closed eyes, "Ultimate treason and not fair. In the coffeemaker was a brilliant hiding spot and you ruined it."
Smaug purred.
"Oh, I forgive you," Sherlock said reassuringly, "But only because John tries to get rid of the coffeemaker every so often. I keep it around to annoy him."
Smaug batted at his stomach with a light paw and Sherlock pouted. "Don't do that! Besides, I happen to like coffee once every blue moon."
The fluffy black cat looks at him, seemingly unconvinced.
"Well," the consulting detective admits, "It's mostly milk and mostly mostly sugar."
Another reprimanding strike. Sherlock's eyebrows raise.
"Yes, I do know that I'm going to die from one of those diseases John's always going on about, diabetes or a blood clot or whatever," Sherlock says flippantly, "But I ignore him. Sometimes for days on end. But it doesn't seem to annoy him overmuch, at least, not for very long."
Smaug gives him an entirely unimpressed look.
"Yes, yes," Sherlock concedes, "I'll try to be a little nicer. If I have to. So demanding."
Sherlock's conversation with Hamish went on for hours, until the consulting detective finally fell asleep. And his cat slept curled up beside him.
A team again, indeed.
Hehehe! I loved writing this chapter! Well? Tell me if you agree. Because you all love me. Because I said so.
(Traffic stats are there to tell me exactly how many of you didn't review. *Mock-glares*
