Four POV
I turn to look back at Al after we enter the storage house. The place is empty but I know not for long. The sirens in the back ground are slowly getting louder and I'm not sure that they're heading for us but it's hard to be sure. Erudite have probably found out we left and are searching for us now anyway. I turn to Al. "Hiding place?" He just looks at me. Clueless.
"Forget it" I huff as I start to shift some of the stuff out of the cupboards. Al soon follows suit doing the same. Not really caring whether I make a lot of noise, I shove the small paint cans and cleaning supplies from one of the higher shelves to try and make room for myself.
Al soon clears a space in the cupboard beside me and jumps up on a table to be able to climb in it with out harm. I stay on the floor and run to the door. After hearing some knocking sounds which sound like car doors being slammed shut. I quickly lock the shutter door and head for my space in the cupboard.
We both spontaneously close the sliding doors at the same time. And all I hear is silence. After a moment I decide to ask. "Why did the alarms go off?" I whisper towards the side that Al's on. "Don't know we probably tripped their alarm system" he answers back. An awkward silence soon follows. I start to panic, remembering that I'm cramped in this small space due to the amount of activity we've encountered just getting here. So now as I lay here and have a few seconds to my self the realisation hits me like a tone of bricks.
In the moments that have passed I'm am brought out of my thoughts by the front door being kicked open. I suck in a breath as I hear the footsteps of several people storm the wear house. I brace my self for the worst as I know it won't be long now until they find either me or Al.
Suddenly I'm broken from my thoughts as the door from underneath me start to open. I can hear the sound of the door screeching as it moves and it's just a long reminder that it's only a matter of time. The person moves and approaches a different door and I'm lost of words when I feel the wood next to me start to move.
But it's not my door. It's Al's. I hear him being dragged out of the cupboard, his feet slamming against the inside of the cupboard as he groans for help as I imagine he's struggling against whoever is pulling him. There's one final kick against the door and a smothered groan as Al is taken down. The group of people who found him haven't still said any thing. But as I'm contemplating the risk of trying to save him or not I hear the voice I've been meaning to hear for such a long time.
"Al?" Her voice is covered in confusion and I wouldn't have been surprised. "Where's Four?"...
