Chapter 21: Letter 3

May,

How are you? I haven't gotten any of my letters back, so I assumed that they've found you wherever you may be. I miss you. But you're probably tired of me saying that.

I thought I'd update you on the farm. It's cold of course, so not much planting to be done except for the strawberries in the hot house. It's hardly work though since they practically water themselves. I've been mining with Gray and Saibara to make some extra cash. My plan is to expand the barn, it won't have as many stalls as your barn at the Yodel Ranch, but it will still be a decent size. Hopefully, by this coming Spring I'll have enough money to upgrade the barn and buy back Bess and a few of your other animals from that farmer in Forget-Me-Not Valley. I'm so sorry you had to sell them. I know it was really hard for you to do and you shouldn't have had to do it. I should have helped you. If only I had the money to pay the taxes on your land, then you wouldn't have had to sell all your animals. And maybe you wouldn't have left. But I guess I can't do anything about that now.

Anyway, I hope it's warm wherever you are. It's so cold here. Even though this is my third Winter in Mineral Town, I'm still surprised every time the first snow falls. It's so lonely.

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Jack
