Recap
"Is this our final goodbye?" Miyuki stood with Shoichi in front of the mansion. A car was parked beside them waiting to take him to the airport.
Shoichi frowned. He didn't want to say goodbye, this could be the last time he sees her alive and well. The thought of that weighed heavy on his heart.
"We don't know how long you're stuck in the future. I'll be searching a way to return you, don't worry. This isn't our final goodbye." He almost believed his own words. Knowing Byakuran he won't let her close to her hometown unless it's absolutely necessary. Regardless he knew she'd be returning home, with or without them meeting a final time.
"Well" she moved to embrace him. "I'll see you later." She tightened the hug before releasing him completely.
Naohiko frowned listening to their plans for the Merone base invasion. Sure, the kids should return home but Naohiko was pretty sure his sister is also in their
time. She would need to get home too. He gritted his teeth listening to Reborn speak, didn't anyone here care about Miyuki?
He clinched his fist in anger. Even the two girls were in this time period. Of course Miyuki would've been sent too. The biggest problem is she wouldn't of arrived in Namimori, or even Japan. Without saying a word Naohiko angrily stormed out of the room.
"Saito-San" Tsunayoshi frowned seeing him storm out of the room.
"Leave him." Reborn didn't even glance at him, instead looked on at the base's blue prints.
"But-" he tried again.
"Dame Tsuna." Reborn glared in his direction shutting the boy up.
Naohiko stood in the middle of his bedroom, clothes and various weapons were tossed carelessly around the small room. A medium sized suit case sat open on the bed, clothes hanging off the side of it as Naohiko continued to toss random objects into it.
"You can't storm into there alone. He will kill you." Naohiko tensed, glancing over his shoulder.
"Akira." His red shaggy hair fell into his eyes, hiding the scar over his left eye, he'd received during a reckless mission. The lost of his vision in his eye just made him train harder, Naohiko was sure that Akira is even stronger than he was when he lost it.
Naohiko scoffed. "You think he'd kill her older brother?"
"Yes."
He almost flinched at the answer.
"It'd be easy to hide from her and it'll keep her in his grasp. What would he have to lose?"
"They can't return to their time without her."
"Do you really think they would?"
Naohiko paused, the shirt he was tossing into the suitcase fell to the floor.
"I know you are upset. However, nobody can return to their time yet. They first need to find a way home. Miyuki is safe, she's probably better protected than she would be here. Let's help them get into the Merone base and get answers. Then we can go from there."
"Nobody asked you to be my voice of reason." Naohiko grumbled, brushing pass Akira to leave the bedroom.
The redhead rolled his good eye, before following his best friend back to the meeting.
"Boss! Forget about us and take them out!" Gokudera yelled, trapped with the others. The Cervello stood across from Tsunayoshi, remote in hand, ready to poison the ones trapped.
"B-but I can't do that..." He struggled with his mittens as the Cervello counted down.
"Three."
"Two."
"Do it, Sawada!" Lal Mirch, yelled
"B-but..."
"One."
Two shots filled the air.
"Master...Irie?" Both Cervello fell to the floor, Irie Shoichi stood over their fallen bodies, gun in hand.
"Don't think too badly of me. I'm just putting you to sleep for now." He mumbled over their fallen forms.
Everyone stared, shocked.
Shoichi dropped the gun with a sigh. "It's so hot..." "I'm drained." He complained running a hand through his hair.
"You and your family had me worried there, Tsunayoshi Sawada-san."
He spoke taking off his jacket.
"My knees are buckling now that all the tension's gone..."
He complained before falling onto his backside.
"I'm impressed you made it all the way here. I've been waiting for you. I'm actually on your side."
Everyone stared shocked.
Tsunayoshi stuttered "O-on our side?"
Naohiko glared from behind Tsunayoshi
"Liar! You hate the Vongola, you hate Sawada!"
"No, I mean, I did." Shoichi frowned at the man across from him. "It's a long story, I forgave him. It's what she would've wanted."
Naohiko glanced away, that was the same reason he had forgiven him.
Shoichi kicked the gun away "I'm not good at this kind of thing. It's so formal."
"But what do you mean you're on our side." Tsunayoshi cried. "You're a leader in the millefiore, our enemy."
"Calm down Tsuna." Reborn called to his student.
"But!"
"Don't lower your guard!" Gokudera called out. "It could be a trap."
"That's right!" Lal mirch agreed
Shoichi groaned in frustration. "I know it'll be hard for you to believe me right away, but I want you to at least hear me out."
"You can't, boss!"
"Where's Miyuki." Akira questioned before anyone else could speak up.
"She's safe. Please let me explain everything first. Then I'll answer all your questions."
"She is here then." Naohiko mumbled glancing over at Akira.
"Byakuran-san was watching constantly, but now that you've messed this place up. I can finally talk to you openly."
Shoichi went on to tell them the story. Why they were summoned to this time and how he will train them to become stronger.
After his story Gokudera yelled out. "He's trying to save himself. Don't believe him."
Shoichi panicked. "Give it some more thought! If I wanted to eliminate you I could've done it sooner! Even if the Millefiore lowered their strength, they could still easily eliminate you!"
"He's right." Reborn spoke up explaining what Shoichi had explained just moments before about how they've gained strength.
"Do you know why I-Pin, Kyoko Sasagawa, and Haru Miura were brought from the past as well? People become stronger when they have something to protect."
Tsuna ran forward grabbing Shoichi. "What if something happens to them? And for such a stupid reason! Not only them, the others could've died in the battles to become stronger."
"That was simply a risk we had to take."
Shoichi yelled in frustration.
"I've been trying my best! It's been so hard with all these unexpected obstacles! The problem isn't as simple as you think! And you know, your future self was involved in devising this plan too, Tsunayoshi-kun!"
Shoichi tells the story about who was involved. "Don't you see? It's such a serious matter that this is the only way to deal with it. Now is the only time to defeat him. If I didn't bring you to this time now he would've found a way to do it eventually. Then he would've been unstoppable."
"What about Miyuki-chan? Where is she?" Tsuna glanced at Naohiko and then back at Shoichi. "Is she in Namimori? Everyone seems really worried about her and it feels like there is something big you are hiding from us about her. Where is she and what are you hiding?" He turned to Shoichi, his gaze hardened into a determined glare.
Shoichi frown. "You didn't tell them?"
"Tell us what." Tsuna demanded.
"Miyuki died two years ago, in our time. Her younger self was brought here just like the rest of you. She's not currently in Japan, she's actually with Byakuran now."
"You said she is safe!" Tsuna yelled. "If she's with him...is he holding her hostage?!" Panic filled his voice and horrible imagines flashed through his head.
"If she's with Byakuran then she is safe." Naohiko spoke up.
"What?"
"But we need to get her away from him. He doesn't know the truth. I saw her, I tried to explain. I tried to help her keep a open mind and look at all the sides. However, since she's with him that can change. He truly believes that Tsunayoshi-Sam sent Miyuki to her death intentionally."
"W-what?" Tsuna whispered. Shock filling his expression.
"Tenth would never do that! He's not that kind of person! He would never hurt people he cares for intentionally!" Gokudera shouted.
Akira stepped forward, placing his hand on Tsuna's shoulder.
"Tsunayoshi, you didn't grow up to be a horrible person. There was a mistake. You weren't to blame. But it'll be okay. You'll be able to live a different, happier future. Your future self already beat himself up enough about it. You don't need to."
"We need to start planning." Shoichi spoke. Everyone needed a better future. Shoichi would try his best to help them get it. Including a better future for Byakuran.
Miyuki leaned back into the soft sofa. It was one of those sofas that's nice to collapse in after a long day of hard work. She glanced up, pushing her bangs out of her face. Byakuran sat across from her, behind the desk separating them. He looked pass Miyuki with a slight frown on his face. If she stared into his eyes long enough, anger seemed to swirl into the lilac color though, before she could mention it he would blink it away, going back to a blank expression.
Miyuki uncomfortably shifted on the sofa. Something had happened.
"Please tell me what happened."
"It's nothing you have to worry about." He mumbled waving his hand in the air.
She frowned at him waving her off.
"Just a traitor. Nothing for you to worry about."
Before Miyuki could reply a man dressed in a white uniform ran into the office.
"Byakuran-sama! The base in Italy has been captured by the Vongola family!"
Miyuki froze in her seat.
Byakuran glared at the man in the doorway.
"Leave."
Without giving it a second thought the man ran from the room, he wasn't sure what his mistake was, though, he knew better than to question it.
"Are you fighting the Vongola?" Miyuki whispered. Her heart dropped. She knew that Byakuran didn't have a positive view of them. But fighting them?
"Yes."
"Why? What's the point? More bloodshed isn't the answer! More people losing people they care about. I don't understand why you need to fight them, they aren't bad people." Miyuki blinked, trying to keep the tears from falling.
Byakuran stood up, his face unreadable. Slowly, he approached Miyuki until he was towering over her. Miyuki frowned looking away.
White sleeves suddenly blocked her view, he had pinned her down, between his arms.
"You think they are the innocent middle schoolers they were ten years ago?" The mockery in his tone caused her to flinch. "You think they are innocent men, with no blood on their hands? Do you realize this is the mafia? Nobody in the mafia is innocent. Especially the vongola family. Would you like a list of the ones murdered in the name of your dear Sawada Tsunayoshi?" He spoke the name with venom.
"If Tsuna had to, they would've been horrible people. He wouldn't do something like that without a good reason."
She glanced up, tears filled her eyes, blurring the man over her.
"In the vongola, someone who disagrees with you is reason enough to eliminate them."
The brunette blinked, tears falling from her eyes as she did so.
"I wouldn't of joined them. I wouldn't of stayed with people like that." She whispered, she isn't a horrible person. She wouldn't of been that horrible in the future. Shoichi told her that she wasn't. More tears fell as she tried to convince herself it wasn't the truth.
Byakuran placed one knee on the sofa, reaching towards her, he cupped her face in his hands. "Once you join a family like that you can't just walk away. You would've had no choice."
Was that why she died? Did Tsunayoshi really send her on a suicide mission? Did he really change that much? She frowned, the tears suddenly stopping. Was she really that stupid to believe someone in the mafia could be completely innocent like that? She reached up, pulling his hands from her face so she could bury her head in his chest. He placed his arms around her, pulling her closer.
The vongola would pay for what they've done. He would make sure of it.
I don't know why certain things are underlined. Posting from a phone is so hard. I should really buy a laptop. Anyway I hope you guys enjoyed this update. I hope Miyuki doesn't seem strange changing her ideas, but I feel like in her situation and her age (lack of experience) it'd be hard. I think it'd be easy to question everything and everyone. Even if the day before you felt pretty good about what you had decided. Plus she truly has no idea who they are personality wise TYL. It's hard to trust someone that you don't actually know. While Byakuran is right there. And he has really strong feelings about it. I also skipped the battles in the invasion. It's a lot to write and Miyuki really has nothing to do with it so...you guys know how it went. If there are any mistakes I'm sorry. I just checked over it but the phone is a pain. Thank you for all the reviews, favorites, follows. Please review and tell me what you think! Btw I was looking for Byakuran stories. They are all Yaoi! What's up with that? I love you guys, thanks for all the support. I know waiting for updates is a pain. I'm sorry. I appreciate you guys. Really I do.
