Heya! Remember me? I know three months have passed but I couldn't update earlier because I was stuck in my studying routine and had a lot of exams in January and February. But now I am back, and I am trying to finish this story so I can probably start a new one if inspiration strikes me more. Hopefully this update will be satisfying. If you find any typos, it's because it's almost 2am. I stayed up just to finish this chapter to post it. Let me know what you think. Until then, xoxo

Blair couldn't make peace with the idea that Chuck had let their daughter be taken by somebody. As she run away to Serena's room, thankfully empty because her friend was still out, she tried not to let her feelings engulf her but failing miserably.

Someone had kidnapped her daughter and God knew who. She was aware she had many enemies and so did Chuck, but nobody besides their families and best friends knew about Audrey. They had always been super careful, hadn't they? Then who who could have put his or her hands on the small child who was now Blair's life?

She sat on the edge of Serena's bed with her hands folded on her lap. She realized that her handbag was stained with sweat as her hands were a mass of anxiety and worries. She sighed and closed her eyes. She needed to be calm and face this head on. Whoever had done it, they would pay. But first, they needed to find the culprit and the little girl, and they needed to do it soon. The idea that a stranger was putting dirty hands on her made Blair squirm in her seat and get the goosebumbs, but in a creepy way.

She needed to be calm. What was the first thing to do?

She stood up and took the phone from her handbag. She needed to call the police, but would they start looking for Audrey despite 48 hours hadn't passed yet? She was a minor and a small child, they needed to. All that she knew was crumbling to pieces and she felt as if she was ignorant all of a sudden. She was panicking too much and forgot that they were already there, in the other room, talking to Lily and Bart.

She didn't realize someone had entered the room. Once she turned, her quivering upper lip pressed too hard on the bottom one and she was sure she pierced it because she could feel the blood in her mouth. It was Chuck. Only seeing him could change her emotions all of a sudden but she thought that instead of feeling lost and confused, he made her rage resurface, and she didn't know if that was better or worse. As if his presence woke her up.

The look on his face was unreadable. His face was pale and his eyes tired. She wasn't sure he had slept last night so she probably believed he looked like that because of the lack of rest. It couldn't be that he, Chuck Bass, wore that apologetic expression because that was how he was feeling. Read him was not hard for her but at times she had problems figuring him out.

He didn't walk towards her but stayed close to the door, perhaps ready to run out of it if she would get mad again – which wasn't a remote possibility. "Blair" he uttered with a thin voice, almost startling her. "I'm –"

She interrupted him before he could say anything. "Don't say a word, Chuck. Shut up. It's better when you don't talk."

He nodded silently and looked at the carpeted floor, then back at her. She couldn't hold Chuck's stare, it was too much. He was trying to communicate with his eyes, which wasn't helping her anger subside at all. She sat back on the bed and sighed multiple times, with the aim to calm her nerves.

"The police started looking" he informed her after what it look like ages. "They said they would let us know as soon as they know something and to stay here in case someone calls."

She didn't look up nor motioned her head to aknowledge what he had just said. She was petrified, speechless. What did people do in cases like this? And why didn't Chuck leave the room? If he'd only disappeared from her life, maybe... Maybe she could start over and move on. But no, he was there. And for the law, he was Audrey's father. He had rights on the kid as well as she, and he had to be there. He needed to.

Somehow, it all made sense that he was there with her. Deep inside of her, she knew how sad he must have been, although the realization that he was feeling such emotions for a human being they created together, scared the shit out of her. Because if Chuck could feel love for his daughter, perhaps there was hope he could feel it for somebody else as well.

She had to stop thinking about those things. They were killing her inside and it was enough suffering for a life time. After their last contrast a couple of months earlier, there hadn't been other awkward encounters between them and she was pushing herself to think that whatever spark she had seen in him before it all fell apart and nothing could be created together, was just a mistake. Perhaps he wasn't even himself to begin with.

"I'm so sorry" Chuck said out of the blue while she was deep in thought. She glanced at him. He was still in the same position as few minutes before, as if he wouldn't dare to go closer to her nor go further. He simply wanted to be there. "I really don't know how this happened."

His excuses seemed sincere. There was something in his eyes... "You wouldn't have let this happen if you were truly sorry" she blurted out without thinking. "And how in hell could this have happened in a building like this with top notch security! This place sucks."

She inhaled deeply and closed her eyes, telling herself to calm down. In the meantime, Chuck had gotten close to her, ignoring her warning to stay away because she could bite. She felt the bed move as he sat down on her right side. The realization that he was near her that they could almost touch, unsettled her. But right now her rage was starting to wear down and only sadness and worry remained. She needed time.

Without thinking, Chuck put an arm on her shoulders. She gazed at his hand on her side and wanted to tell him to go away and fuck off, but her feelings got the best of her. She was holding too much in her heart and she needed to lift that heavy weight. This is why despite all the shitty threatment she had given him ever since she'd come to his house, she lowered her head on his chest and started crying.

To her surprise, he didn't budge and held her, treading his hands in her hair. He was trying to soothe her and it was one of the sweetest things he could do in that moment, despite she had thrown all of her fury towards him.

"Don't worry. Things are going to be alright. They will find her" he whispered softly while she cried her soul out.

It was lunch time when Blair woke up. She didn't realize she had fallen asleep in Chuck's embrace. Once she opened her eyes, confused to where she was, she was tucked under deep covers on Serena's bed. Chuck was nowhere in sight.

She got off the bed and put her shoes on then she walked to the kitchen. To her surprise, it was empty besides some dishes covered with napkins. She found Chuck there, sitting on one of the chairs next to the bar stool where some their lunch was put.

The click of her heels on the parquet made him turn. Somehow, his expression was different than the one he was wearing before. He seemed more... relaxed, serene. She wished it was because of their earlier exchange. It wasn't a romantic gesture, but sweet enough to break the ice between them.

"Are you hungry?" he asked.

She shook her head. "How long have I been out?"

"Long enough for the police to call twice" he informed her and she walked closer. She was all ears. "They found a lead in Queens" he uttered the last word with a broken voice.

Blair's mouth opened in shock. "Oh my God, my baby is in Queens?" she touched her forehead as if about to faint, then shook her head inwardly telling herself to avoid panicking again.

"I know, right" he agreed, looking down as his hands. "They said that they found something that could be hers. Her pacifier with initials" he explained. "But of course, they don't know if it's hers or not. Stupid cops" he shook his head. "Anyway. They said that they could have hid Audrey in one of the lost buildings near the sea."

She exhaled audibly and Chuck looked at her. "Oh my God. Oh my God" she blinked and passed a hand through her hair. "Whoever did this, he or she is gonna pay! I'll make sure mom's new husband Cyrus puts them in jail."

They stared at each other and smiled at the same time. Despite the situation wasn't the best, they could still find humor in what she had just said. She was sure she would do that.

The silence was broken by a phone ringing. It was Chuck's. He grabbed it and quickly answered without letting it ring more than two times. At first he was frowning. He seemed to listen closely to what the other person was saying. Then Blair saw his expression relax and relief flooded him. "Are you really sure? Ok, then we're coming." After he hung up, he eyed Blair with a lit up face. "They found her."

They didn't lose another minute and called Arthur to bring the limo. They were going to kick ass to whoever did this to their daughter.

Blair hated Queens as much as the next Upper East Sider, but the place where Chuck's driver took them made her hate that neighborhood even more. They were in a desolate area with destroyed buildings and old factories. The best place to hide someone, she thought. But why did it have to be Audrey?

A cop was waiting them not far from where they parked. "Are you her parents? Mr and Mrs Bass I suppose?" he asked.

Blair's eyes widened in disbelief at being called Mrs Bass and she tried not to make Chuck notice but without success. Apparently he was shocked by the cop's acknowledgment as well but he didn't let it show. He glanced quickly at her and she could tell he smirked briefly.

"Where is she?" Blair asked, ignoring the second question.

"Come with me" the man said, starting to walk towards a red run-down building. By the looks of it, it once was a toys' factory. The kidnapper had a perverted mind.

Near the entrance, they saw a female cop with their daughter in their hands. They had wrapped her in a brown blanked like those they give to people under shock. Once Blair saw her, she run towards the woman and grabbed Audrey from her grasp.

"Oh my God, you're safe" she kissed the head of the baby. She was crying, but she didn't care because now she was safe and back into her mother's arms. "Oh my God" she held her tight and looked closely if she had had any damage. Chuck was next to her. One glance at him and she knew that he was relieved too.

He didn't budge but she knew that he was eager to embrace her as well, so she passed the child to him, who held her tight and closed his eyes with a grin of relief. He didn't say anything to her, but she knew his actions spoke more than words.

The female cop cleared her voice at some point. "Excuse me, Mr and Mrs Bass. But you need to come with me to the police station. I need to take your statements on the finding of your daughter and we'll handle the aggressor."

"Who is that bastard, huh?" Blair hissed, and the cop shrugged. "We'll let you meet him once we get there. He says he knows you both, so you better as well come to clear him up or either condemn him."

She and Chuck exchanged a glance. "He knows us?"

The cop nodded. "Yes, right. And says that you may clear up the misunderstanding."

***

Misunderstanding my ass, Blair thought as they drove to the police station of Queens' jurisdition. She had already called her stepfather Cyrus to help her in case she needed to press more charges. Who the hell could be that knew them both?

In the limo they valued their acquaintances, but reasoning, Chuck believed that it could be a person on his side to have ordered this more than someone Blair knew. They concluded that it may have been his uncle Jack who was trying to get revenge for what had happened last Valentine's Day, but it turned out they were both wrong in the end.

Once Blair had left her daughter with her mother Eleanor who had reached them at the station, she and Chuck never thought the person they would be seeing in the interrogation room with handcuffs would be none other than Dan Humphrey.

A look of agreement passed between them and they both seemed skeptical. "Why is Dumpty Humpty in the interrogation room?" Chuck wondered.

"This guy, Daniel Humphrey, was the man we've found with your baby. He was the only one with her so we are thinking that he worked alone" the cop from earlier told them. "He says he was trying to scare you and that's it. That you attend the same high school and that he isn't a threat, much less he would ever hurt your baby daughter."

Blair laughed. "Yeah, I believe so" she rolled her eyes. "It's true that guy attends our institute, but he isn't our friend."

"Right. He hates our guts, especially mine" Chuck agreed.

"Then what do you want to do?"

"Can we talk to him?" Blair asked, and the police officer nodded. "Our lawyer is coming, so in any case he is gonna handle this. I won't let Dan Humphrey get away with this."

"Alright. But just for five minutes, then you're out. Don't do anything, Mrs Bass. Or I'll handcuff you as well" the cop threatened, but she could say his tone was playful.

She shrugged and walked towards the door of the interrogation room followed by Chuck. When Dan saw them, he shrieked almost inaudibly. It was the sound of somebody who realized that he had been busted.

"So, Humphrey. Long time, no see? What are you doing here?" Chuck said, smirking.

Dan snorted. "Don't you see? I'm handcuffed. But this is a mistake, you guys. I didn't want to do what i did. It is a misunderstanding."

Blair raised an eyebrow. "Oh my, you're denying, even. Dan, you kidnapped our daughter. You realize this, right?"

He nodded. "Yes. But it's a misunderstanding, I tell you."

"Try as you might to change our minds. You still broke in my house and took her away, no? Then it's crime, Humpty."

Dan's face crumbled and he covered his eyes with his hands. "Ahhhh!" he shrieked again, this time more loud than before.

"Why did you do that? Why did you kidnap her? She's not even 1 year old!" Blair shouted, her raw emotions showing.

"Because I wanted to get back at you, Blair. Because..." he seemed tortured, "Because you got Yale and I didn't. And I was mad. I've studied like an ass for the whole year and then how I get repaid? By getting accepted by some suburbian college? NO!" he shook his head, visibly out of his mind. They had never seen him like that.

"So, Humphrey. You kidnapped an innocent baby for your own satisfaction? And my baby girl for that matter?" Chuck's tone was thick and venomous. "And for what, a stupid university?"

Dan glared at Chuck. "You don't understand. For people like you and Blair it may be stupid, but for me, if I don't do wonders, it could fuck up my life."

"Well, your life is already fucked up as it is because you've committed this crime" Blair said.

He shook his head and looked like he was about to cry. "I know, right! Not if you don't press charges, though. I beg you" he pleaded with red eyes and looked at both. "Drop the charges. Don't ruin me already."

Blair sighed with annoyance and turned. "It's too late, Humphrey. You're already ruined." She walked towards the door and after one look at Dan, Chuck followed her.

Before they could exit the room, Dan spoke again. "So... She's your daughter, huh?"

Both of them glared at him and then left the room.

Chuck had suggested they went to Blair's house with Audrey, since she would have picked her up in the afternoon if it hadn't been for the ruckus Humphrey caused. In the end they decided not to press charges. They thought that if they did, then he may do something to harm Audrey's identity by revealing her to the world, and they didn't want that. Heck, Blair would even try to talk with the headmistress about college acceptances to see if they could find another place for him to attend even though she knew it was hard. Anything to keep his mouth shut.

After Blair washed the baby to clean her and put her to bed, she brought a drink to Chuck and then sat next to him on the couch. He was sitting in her room. After Audrey had grown up a bit, she decided to move her in the nursery so that she would be close but she could be still use her personal room to do what she needed to do without disturbing the sleeping child.

Chuck grabbed the Martini and drank it slowly. "Busy day, huh?"

She laughed. "Yeah, definitely. But I'm thankful everything went well."

"Me too. I wouldn't have lived if something had happened to her" he confessed.

She nodded. "Me too" she agreed. She sipped her drink and felt it was about time she drank something. Her mouth had felt dry all the time until she had her daughter back in her arms. "I'm glad that she won't remember it."

"Less money for the psychiatrist" he grinned, and Blair laughed again.

It seemed so easy being with him, yet so hard. They had their ups and downs but in the end they liked each other's company.

"I'm sorry for taking it out on you earlier" she blurted out. "I knew it wasn't your fault because you were sleeping and –"

"There's no need for you to apologize."

She managed a smile and sipped the remainings of her glass of Martini, then she settled it on the table next to the couch. It was a perfect moment in her eyes. In her imagination, they could look like a couple of newlyweds who had just finished eating dinner and were enjoying a glass of something on a couch while their only kid slept. The fact that the cop had called her "Mrs Bass" didn't help her with the fantasy. Somehow, she could envision a future where that surname would be hers, couldn't she?

It was true that at first she hadn't trust Chuck's words, but then she had let him soothe her and she had decided to drop her accusations because he seemed changed. He looked more mature in her eyes after the last time they had a conversation that lasted longer than 30 seconds. Did it mean she was on the good way of having more faith in him? Did it mean she could embark in a relationship with him with an open mind?

She wasn't fairly sure but she could try. Hell, she wanted to try. She wanted to be with him. She wanted to have with Chuck what he never had. She wanted a family with him. And she knew he probably wanted it as well. In a way, they already were a family.

She had seen him today. He had kept his composure and was calm the entire time this scary event happened. He was the solid rock while she was lost, her other part, her salvation from insanity. He was what she needed to be whole. And he was the only one who could make her feel better with the simple touch of his hand. She...

After Chuck put his empty glass aside, she gazed at him with eyes full of desire and she could tell that he was feeling the same. He was about to say something but then decided it was better to keep his mouth shut. Their hands grabbed each other's hair at the same time and their mouths crashed in perfect unision. They had a great way to predict what the other was thinking, and Blair was sure that he was also pondering about their current situation.

Their kiss was hungry, wild, passionate. They hadn't kissed ever since that Snow White play – if you could call that a kiss. This was so much more.

Chuck broke the kiss and looked at her, his eyes searching for the agreement to move forward. Blair grinned and started undressing him as he began to do the same. It wasn't soon before long that their appetite was satisfied, bodies entwined and a fire that had never been exstinguished was ignited again. That night both made love to the other with their whole soul, and they knew it. But what would happen next? Could they try to be together?

Uh, Oh. Upper East Siders, I have got an intel about our UES roaylty, C&B. You'll never guess what it is. And no, this time it isn't another one of B's crazy schemes of pretending to rise to queendom again. It's more juicy.
According to my sources, it seems our King and Queen failed biology. Want to know why? Apparently, there is a living proof to testify their unprotcted deed. Yes, you heard me well. There's a Baby Bass roaming around NYC that they have tried to hide well. Bad C&B! You know how I live for this! Be on the look out, because I want pics. You think he/she looks more like mommy or daddy? XOXO, Gossip Girl
