A/N: So I am an absolutely horrible and terrible human being who should be taken out back and beaten...between getting distracted by the boy and by having access to Tumblr, i have seem to forgotten to finish posting this...and i apologize profusely. To make it up, I am now posting the rest of the story so as not to leave anyone hanging and to actually finish it instead of letting it sit and stew on my hard-drive. Again, apologies. Enjoy!
The dream was gone the moment Meg opened her eyes. The only thing felt was a gleeful success in her gut. That feeling was immediately replaced by an extreme pressure that moved from her back to her front causing her to sit up, one hand grabbing her back and the other on her stomach.
"Are you alright?"
"Hm?" Meg turned to see Cas stretched out next to her, a book in his hand. "Yea, yea I'm good."
"You sure?" he asked giving her an unsure look.
"Yes. I'm peachy," she said running her hand through her hair. "What time is it?"
"Almost noon," he said watching her get up and start changing. "You've been sleeping longer and more often than you used to."
"Yea, well ain't much for me to do being as huge as I am," she grumbled, still feeling the side effect of whatever it was that made her cringe. "Moose is calling tonight still, right?"
"As long as Kevin says the potion's good to go," Cas replied, still watching her carefully. "Are you sure you want me to attempt this? It's not too late yet to think of something else."
"Stop worrying," Meg muttered. "Everything will be fine. Besides, I'm itching to take a swing at Dean anyway."
Cas huffed, "I prefer you not engage him at all. Leave the rest of us handle him. You just get back to the house as quick as you can."
Meg rolled her eyes before walking over to him and kissing him, "Whatever you say."
"Are you humoring me?" he asked suspicious she was giving in. He watched her shrug before walking out of the room. Cas got up off the bed and followed, catching her before she got to the stairs. "I'm serious."
"And I'm Meg. Nice to meet cha," she replied giving him a wide smirk. He glared at her. "I know you're serious, feathers. I'm not disagreeing with you. Stop stressing yourself out. You'll give your vessel gray hair and wrinkles."
Cas sighed and watched her turn to make her way slowly down the stairs, hand gripping the railing tight. "Do you want help?"
"I can walk down the steps," she muttered in response.
"Just offering," he replied before turning to head back into their room to change his own clothing.
Meg waited until she heard the door click before pausing halfway down the steps, one hand with a death grip on the rail and the other on her stomach.
"This is so not the day for this, kid," Meg grumbled quietly. She took a slow breath and waited for the pain to pass before walking the rest of the way to the living room. Sam was sitting on the couch looking at something on his computer.
"Hey," he greeted when she sat down next him. "You ok?"
"Yea, I'm fine. Why?" she pulled her feet up onto the coffee table.
"You look pale."
"Well it's not the most ideal locale for sun bathing," Meg retorted.
"I don't mean pale like you need a tan," he chuckled rolling his eyes.
"I'm fine, Moose," Meg sighed.
"Ryse good?"
"Alive and kicking as far as I know. Ready for tonight?"
"Yea. I think so," Sam sighed. "Kevin and Cain are out in the garage doing last minute adjustments." Meg nodded. Sam cleared his throat, "You think this'll work?"
"Hope so," Meg shrugged. "I'd much rather deal with Dean the hunter than Dean the demon."
"Yea."
"Even if it doesn't, at least we tried," Meg added.
"I guess…"
"Hey, it'll work. I don't think Cain would be putting forth this much effort if he didn't think there was an excellent chance for success."
Sam nodded before offering to make lunch. Meg nodded eagerly, resting her head back on the couch as he walked out to the kitchen. She only hoped the kid wouldn't throw a wrench into their well thought out plan, especially since Linda was currently not around. Kevin had sent her to Garth to keep her safe while feeding her some story about Garth having found some sort of artifact that Kevin needed to look at, but was too busy to go get it himself.
As she sat there, she realized the kid was as stubborn as she was and would rather have her own plans. Meg closed her eyes, and instead hoped that she would just last until they could get Dean taken care of.
"You sure you're ok?" Sam asked when she came back downstairs later.
"I'm fine," Meg answered ignoring the look she was getting from Cas. He was going to so kill her later. "Why does everyone keep asking me that?"
"You were hiding up in your room all day."
"Can't a girl catch up on her beauty sleep?" she asked walking past them and out the front door. Doug greeted her as she got past the wards. She scratched his shoulder before another contraction hit, causing her to grip onto Doug's fur. Doug cocked his head at her and gave her a worried whine. "It's ok boy."
Meg heard the door open and shut behind her. She forced herself to let go of Doug and started taking deeper breaths. Doug leaned up against her offering her some support. She gave him a grateful pat before turning to see Sam walking towards her.
"Where's Cas?" she asked as they started walking towards the garage when he got level with her.
"He's waiting inside with Cain. Kevin's going to spring it before they reveal themselves," Sam said. He looked her over quick, "Are you-"
"Seriously, the next person who asks me if I'm ok or that I'm sure I want to risk this, is going to get ganked," Meg snapped, pulling the door open.
"Ok then," Sam nodded before pulling out his phone. "You think this'll get him here?"
"Give me the phone and I'll get him, don't worry," Meg smirked, holding out her hand for his phone. Sam handed it to her, giving her a wary look. She hit call and waited.
"Sammy! Knew you-"
"Wrong-o," Meg cut him off with a chuckle.
"Well, well. If it isn't the skank bitch I wanted to talk to," Dean replied. "Well not so much talk to, rather gut."
"Careful Dean, them be flirtin' words where I'm from," Meg replied.
"Where's my brother?"
"Sam? Don't worry about Sam. He's been having a bloody good time with me," Meg purred. Sam shifted in front of her, clenching his jaw.
"You better not have hurt him."
Meg laughed, "Don't tell me you actually care about him. What will all the other demons say when they hear what a softy the new Knight of Hell is. They'll be lining up to take swings at his brother. Ooh, maybe I'll sell tickets."
"Cas wouldn't let you."
"Who said Cas is here?"
"Yea," Dean scoffed. "Like Cas would leave you and the parasite alone. Hasn't that thing eaten you from the inside out yet?"
"Any day now. How's being a demon? Everything you ever dreamed of?"
"About that. I gotta bone to pick with you."
"Ooo, a bone? Does it have teeth?"
"Did you tell my brother?"
"He ain't your brother anymore, Dean."
"Bitch…who else have you told?"
"Easier question would be who haven't I told," Meg chuckled. "Did you really think your threat would scare me?"
"You're dead."
"Now you'll have hunters and angels on your ass. Not to mention those still loyal to Abaddon."
"I'm going to kill you."
"Oh? Like you got mommy and daddy killed? And Bobby? How about all those other people under your belt. I think Sammy even has a life or two to thank you for. You're poison, Dean. Always have been. Maybe getting turned into a demon was for the best cuz you've always been a bad boy deep down. No matter how much good you've done. You-"
"Uh, Meg," Sam cut her off putting a hand on her shoulder. She turned to see Dean standing a few yards from them, the First Blade in one hand while his other held his phone up to his ear. His eyes were black as night.
"Sammy, get away from her," Dean snarled.
"Listen Dean, we just want to talk," Sam said holding up his hands.
"We can talk after I gank the bitch," Dean growled walking towards them.
"Go head and try. I've always been faster than you and your dim-wittedness," Meg smirked.
"Reasons he comes with back-up," a British voice behind them drawled.
Meg cursed quietly to herself. That was one thing they had forgotten to account for.
"Meg, duck," Sam said shoving her shoulder to see Dean had rushed her when her back was turned. Fortunately, it seemed Kevin's Devil trap he had hidden worked. Dean struck an invincible barrier as Crowley yelled behind them. "Sorry. You ok?"
"Sure," Meg grumbled, fighting off a perfectly timed contraction. "Where's Crowley?"
"It seems Kevin thought of that," Sam said nodding to the door. Kevin was standing there with a jug of holy oil and a blow torch. He gave them a wave before Meg looked back at Dean to see him testing the perimeter. Cas and Cain had run in after Kevin must have given them the all clear.
Without a glance at Dean, Cas walked right up to her, "Are you ok?"
"Just fabulous," she grinned, her jaw clenched as she tried to hide the contraction.
"He didn't do anything to you did he?"
Meg shook her head, "Showed up right in the middle of Kevin's trap, the dumbass."
Cas gave her a small smirk before turning to Kevin, "Go get the potions. Meg-"
"Don't even tell me to follow," she snapped. There was a good chance she probably wouldn't make it to the house without help and that meant revealing the problem. "I want to stick around for this."
Cas stared her down for a moment before rolling his eyes at her and nodding at Kevin. Meg slumped back against the work bench, reaching behind her to grip the table ledge. She tried to keep her breathing normal so not to give anything away. Cas had since turned to face Dean who was smirking at him. Cain was walking the perimeter of the circle while Sam stood watch for Kevin, not looking at his brother.
"If you want the blade back, you can kiss my ass," Dean said glancing over his shoulder at Cain.
"Oh I don't want it back," Cain replied.
"Then what's with the whole trap Dean thing? If you all wanted a happy reunion, all you had to do was ask."
"Think of it as an intervention," Meg replied. "I'd kick it off, but I don't really have anything nice to say about you."
"Kevin's coming," Sam said looking back at them. "Dean, give me the blade."
"Mm, no thanks," Dean smirked. Sam glared at what used to be his brother. "Why don't you come get it?"
Sam glanced at Cas who nodded, "We'll cover."
Sam nodded before stepping into the circle. Dean watching him, a smirk on his face, "Sammy."
"Dean, just make this easy. We're trying to help you."
"Oh, easy, huh? Like you made the last few months?" Dean smirked wider. "I was trying to save you and look where it got me."
"Let us help you fix it then," Sam said as he inched closer.
"How?"
"Let us cure you," Sam said a pleading look on his face. Meg glanced at Cas, who was watching the pair rather than her. She bit her lip to keep from making any noise as the next contraction hit harder. Dean glanced at her briefly, his eyes lighting up. "Come on, Dean. You said yourself you didn't want to end up like this. You didn't want the blade turning you into a monster."
"I don't know, Sammy. Ain't too bad once you get you used to it," he shrugged. Meg looked at Cain. He had stopped walking the edge and was giving Dean a suspicious look. A second later, he was gone.
"Cas," Meg said quietly. He glanced back at her. "I'm not liking this."
His eyebrows pinched in confusion. Suddenly, several things happened at once. While Sam had held out a hand for the blade, Dean's eyes flicked black and he had swung at Sam's forearm, leaving a cut. He grabbed Sam and broke the circle before disappearing and reappearing at the wall. Using Sam's blood, he started drawing a sigil. Cas took a step forward, but Dean turned and threw him up against the wall, leaving Meg gripping the work table.
"Dean, don't do this," Sam spit out as Dean finished the sigil. Dean smirked at him and sent him flying back to the wall on the other side of Meg and sealed the door before Kevin could get inside.
"Don't do this, Dean, "Cas growled at him. "Let us go."
"Don't think so," Dean smirked. "Crowley wants the bitch and whelp dead. Preferably before it pops out."
"Crowley's using you, dipshit!" Meg snarled, letting the pain she was in feed her anger. "That's all he's ever been doing. You're turning into his little lap dog!"
"Dean, there's still time to figure all this out," Cas spat out. "Don't do something you'll regret. This isn't what was meant for you."
"Oh blow it out your ass, Cas," Dean growled back. "Besides, seems like there is no time. Right, bitch?" Dean smiled wider at her, "Seems like kid's coming now."
Meg glared at him as she felt Cas to turn out at her, "Meg?"
"M'fine feathers," she lied.
"Don't lie," Dean chuckled. "Tell him the truth before I send him away."
Meg looked over at Cas and gave him a slight nod to indicate Dean was right. A look of horror appeared on his face as he started struggling to escape Dean's hold on him. "Dean, don't. Let me go. We can help you."
Dean laughed, "I don't want help, you idiot. What I would like to know though," his hand inched closer to the sigil he had drawn and Meg felt her knees give out when she saw what it was, "since Heaven is closed, where is it you cloud-hoppers go when we banish you?"
