Kagome sat on the floor watching Inuyasha sleep. They had managed to find a small abandoned hut, they could have stayed in the village, but Inuyasha said he it wouldn't be safe to stay in a place that Naraku knew they were at. After removing his top Kagome and Shippou got to work on cleaning his wounds and bandaging him up. Sango tended to Miroku who was still suffering from the effects of taking in the poison insects with his wind tunnel.

"You should get some rest yourself", Inuyasha said opening his eyes. He just woke up a moment ago to see Kagome sitting over him still awake.

"I'll be fine, the one who needs to rest is you", Kagome gently ran her fingers through his hair. Inuyasha grabbed her wrist and pulled her closer until she was leaning over him, just inches away from his face. He used his other hand to rest against the back of Kagome's neck and brought her face down to lock her lips with his. The kiss was slow, passionate and reminded her that the love between them was very real.

"Ah that is lovely", Miroku said eyeing the couple from the other side of the hut. He too had just woke up. Kagome instantly pulled away covering her flushed cheeks while Inuyasha just glared at him.

"Well I see your healthy enough to peep on us", he said annoyed at being interrupted, it was hard these days to get some alone time or expression his affection for Kagome, what with all the constant battles lately.

"I wouldn't say I'm healthy, I lose the contents of my stomach if try to get up, all I can do is lie here since my legs feel numb and my arm feels like it's on fire", the monk said listing all his ailments.

"It's probably not fatal then, if you can still complain about it", Inuyasha replied. "Hang on I might have something to help with that", he tried to get up more like struggled, but Kagome stopped him by pushing him back down. "Alright fine I'll lay down, just get my bag", Kagome moved to the other side of the hut and picked up Inuyasha's enchanted bag that housed all of his books, potions, and other magical items he collected.

"What am I looking for?" Kagome asked opening the bag.

"Remedium Venenum, it's a cure all for all types of poisons and toxins, works great for demon and magic created ones too", Inuyasha explained.

"Um, how do I find it?" she honestly had no clue how he ever found anything in this giant space within the bag.

"Just reach in and say 'Remedium Venenum, oh and be prepared to catch", he said quickly.

"Remedium Venenum!" what felt like a bottle suddenly flew into her hands from somewhere within the bag. Taking it out Kagome noticed the bottle was empty and Inuyasha sighed in disappointment.

"Fuck, I should have known it was all gone!" Inuyasha placed his forearm over his eyes as he growled in frustration.

"It's alright I can just rest and let Naraku's poison works its way out my system", Miroku supplied confidently. Inuyasha chuckled at that knowing how wrong he was.

"Listen Miroku, that's a demon poison infecting you, if it doesn't kill, it could take weeks to fight it off, we don't have the time to wait for you", Inuyasha scratched his head trying to think.

"Thanks for not leaving me behind", Miroku was able to read between the lines and noticed how the half demon wanted to bring him along his journey, he was even going so far as to try and help with the poison he ingested. Yes Inuyasha had come a long way since the first time he met him.

"Can you make some more of that medicine?" Kagome asked, and a flash of brilliance went on in Inuyasha's eyes.

"Yes that's it, we are in the south and judging by the location we are probably not that far from where we can get the herb that's the main ingredient in the medicine".

"We are not going anywhere mister, I'll go get the herbs and you stay here and rest!" Kagome said interrupting them.

"Kagome are you crazy you can't go out by yourself, not with Naraku after you!" he shouted from the floor.

"I'll be fine for a short trip, you said it wasn't that far right", she argued back.

"If you go you better take Sango with you!"

"No she has to stay here and protect you two since your both out of commission", Kagome huffed and stood over him.

"We don't need her I can create a barrier with my magic", he held his fist in the air and concentrated his power as a green magical barrier began to form around the hut, he did this to prove a point to his Kagome, however due to his injuries and exhaustion the barrier crumbled. "Okay I can't".

"See I'll be fine on my own", Kagome finalized. Inuyasha ground his teeth together in frustration, he really didn't want to send her out there alone, but Shippou wasn't ready for any offensive type of magic yet and Sango would have to stay here because Miroku and he were pretty much useless right now.

"Alright, but take your bow just in case", Inuyasha said reluctantly.

"Now where do I go", Kagome smiled happy that she got her way.

"I'll give you direction, but first I need to tell you who grows these herbs. His name is Jinenji".

"Who's Jinenji?" Kagome asked tilting her head like the curious cat she was.

"He's a half demon like me, I met him a few years before you came into my life. I even asked him to join me on my travels, but he refused saying he wanted to take care of his mother and their herb fields", Inuyasha smiled thinking about the gentle giant that he met. Unlike himself who was still bitter towards most humans for the treatment towards half demons, Jinenji preferred a gentle approach and ignored their abuse. Kill them with kindness that was his approach.

"When you get there, tell him you're a friend of mine, he'll give you what we need", Inuyasha gave her directions to the village where Jinenji and his mother lived on the outskirts of and she left immediately wanting to get back quickly.

"Perhaps I should have told her that Jinenji is a big softy, oh well".

LATER

Kagome ran through the trees, it didn't take her that long to reach the village, when she arrived she didn't quite enjoy the rude reception she got from the villagers.

"Excuse me" Kagome asked politely.

"Mwah! Another demon is here!" One of the villagers shouted.

"It's here to eat us!" another shouted.

"Actually I'm just here looking for…"

"Be gone from these parts vile demon!" the villagers cut her off.

"If you just let me talk I leave I just need…"

"Let's drive her out before she attacks us!"

"Will you all just shut the hell up!" Kagome shouted and immediately covered her mouth surprised she said such a mean thing, her cheeks lightly turned pink in embarrassment. "I'm so sorry, could one of you just tell me where I can find Jinenji?" the villagers coward before her and shakily pointed her in the right direction and ran off before she could say thank you.

Kagome arrived at a large field with a small hut in the middle of it. Walking along the dirt path she tried to look around for anybody, but had yet to see any one. Kagome felt a presence behind her and a saw a shadow of a hand reaching out towards. Relying on the training she got from Sango she whipped around and scratched the hand with her claws, facing her enemy she crouched down and hissed aggressively.

Instead of big scary demon like she was expecting, Kagome's eyes met a big demon-like man with a sort of horse shaped head and big blue eyes that were currently tearing up as he help his hand that she scratched.

"Um hi, are you perhaps Jinenji?" Kagome asked getting up from her crouched position. The guy didn't answer instead started bawling and running for the hut.

"Mother!" Kagome panicked and tried to apology for attacking him.

"I'm sorry, sorry!" Kagome followed and tried to calm him down.

"Hey leave my boy alone!" an old woman came out of the hut swinging a piece of wood at Kagome. She dodged it and used her agility to land safely on the roof of the home. "Get down from there!"

"Not until you both calm down, listen, and stop attacking me!" Kagome said from the safety of the roof.

"What do you want?" the old woman asked putting the wood down.

"Now that we can act civilized I'm looking for a certain herb, for my friend", Kagome said jumping down from the roof. She looked up at Jinenji and smiled apologetically, "I'm truly sorry, but Inuyasha said I had to be careful and you kind of startled me".

"Inuyasha do you know him?" Jinenji asked.

"Yes he's the one that sent me here, our friends been poisoned and Inuyasha is hurt really bad, he said he can make a cure for the poison with one of the herbs you grow here", Kagome explained.

"He was very nice to me when he came here years ago", the large half demon spoke softly.

"That Inuyasha said he put up a magical barrier that would keep out anyone who would be mean to Jinenji, obviously if you're here it's not working anymore", the old woman said in a grumpy tone.

"I told you that was an accident, I had no intention of attacking anyone", Kagome argued getting a little annoyed. After clearing up all the misunderstandings they went inside the hut to talk, Kagome learned that the old woman was Jinenji's human mother, and that the demon father left them this land before he died. She also learned how the people in the village close by always harassed them, attacking Jinenji leaving scars on his body. Kagome grew upset to hear that and planned on having a talk with those villagers before she left. From what they told her, Inuyasha came here right when the attacks were getting really bad, he used his magic to threaten the humans and even erected a barrier that would keep out anyone with cruel intentions or those who intended to hurt Jinenji and his mother.

"Miss Kagome?" Jinenji said getting her attention, "I never met you before, but what's your relationship with Inuyasha?"

"Well…um…you see, I'm his companion, but I would like to be more than that", she said blushing a bit.

"Oh so you're in love with him", the old woman spoke bluntly.

"Well yes, but we haven't done anything about it, it's complicated", Kagome sounded a little disappointed by that.

"Love isn't complicated girl, it sounds like he doesn't want to admit he's in love with you", she said knowingly.

"He said he loves me, it's just he hasn't announced what we are together", Kagome argued.

"Ah yes another man afraid of commitment", she chuckled a bit. "Maybe you should be the one to tell him what you two are".

"Here take this", Jinenji interrupted them handing her a small bag containing several herbs. "This should help Inuyasha make a cure for your friend".

"Thank you very much", Kagome said taking the herbs and patting the half demon's large hands making him blush lightly. "You're very kind". Kagome said goodbye with the promise to come visit again and went to the village to have a chewing out of those mean heartless people the sun was beginning to set on the way there.

FOREST NEAR THE FIELD

"Are you sure you can take down the barrier sir", one of the villagers said.

"Of course, something like this is child's play to me", a man dressed in a white fur cloak and baboon mask said darkly. He reached a hand out towards the barrier and smirked when it tried to shock his hand, with a flick of his wrist he used his dark magic to shatter the barrier like glass.

"Thank you Lord Naraku, are you sure there's nothing you want from us to repay you with", another villager spoke.

"Oh no I don't need anything from you just do as you please", Naraku said, the villagers marched towards the home Jinenji with torches and spears to either kill him or drive him away once and for all.

'This is perfect, with Inuyasha injured and out of the way, Kagome is here all by herself and unprotected', he thought walking after the humans believing he now had the upper hand and could easily capture Kagome.

AT THE VILLAGE

Kagome landed out of the air on her feet perfectly balanced right in the middle of the village startling the humans. She looked around at them with an angry glare, her cat ears straight and agitated.

"Tell me, does anyone know what Jinenji ever did that was so terrible? What did he do to deserve such treatment?" She practically yelled making them all cower in fear. None of them spoke up out of both fear and the fact that they really didn't have an answer to that question.

"You're all despicable you know that right, Jinenji's kindness is wasted on you lot", Kagome marched away. One of the villagers grew courageous and approached her, it was a teenage boy who surprisingly decided to stand up.

"Jinenji never did anything, it was always the village elders and older men who harassed him for being a half demon. Most of us just leave him alone", the boy explained.

"I see", Kagome closed her eyes and sighed. "Perhaps you all did the right thing in leaving him alone, but did any of you try to befriend him or at the least try to get to know him?"

"No", the boy said looking ashamed.

"Nothing good can come from loneliness, no one deserves that", Kagome said thinking back to Inuyasha and how sad he used to be when she first met him that stormy night, back when she was just a cat.

"Miss you have to help him, the men went to go drive him out tonight", the boy said urgently.

"They won't get passed the barrier", she said remembering Inuyasha was the one to set it up.

"They have someone, someone who said he could take down the barrier", the boy looked worried now.

"Who?"

"I didn't hear his name only that he said he would take the barrier down so the men could drive out Jinenji or kill him, you have to stop them!", Kagome didn't hesitate she took off running back towards the herb fields. She arrived to see part of the fields along with the hut set ablaze with the men from the village hurling rocks at Jinenji's mother.

"Stop that!" Kagome stood between the old woman and the villagers. "That's enough!"

"Move out of the way demon!" one of the men yelled.

"We're getting rid of Jinenji once and for all!" another yelled.

"Not while I'm here!" Kagome hissed and readied her bow with an arrow. The villagers stepped back holding their weapons protectively. No one made a move, the old woman went back to the burning hut to get Jinenji out of there.

"Don't worry I'll deal with her", an ominous voice suddenly said from behind the crowd. They all stepped aside to let the man dressed in the white fur cloak and mask to step forward.

"But milord let us deal with…" a hand shot out of the cloak and blasted the man that dared talk back to him with miasma that dissolved him into bones in a matter of seconds. "This girl is valuable to me, I don't want any of you worthless humans damaging my prize". The village men retreated far back to the edge of the forest, scared of suffering the same fate.

"I recognize that voice, you're Naraku!" Kagome explained tightening the hold she had on her white bow. She released an arrow without hesitation, but Naraku managed to sidestep it.

"Perhaps we got off on the wrong foot, if you let me explain my actions, you mind find my intentions are not as wicked as they were made out to be", Naraku spoke calmly holding his hands up in a non-threatening gesture.

"How about you start by telling me what do you want with me?" Kagome ordered readying another arrow.

"It's not you that I want, it's what you are that I want", he said.

"That doesn't make any sense!" Kagome shouted.

"Allow me to explain, you see due to my nature it appears I can't create any offspring of my own, so I tried the next best thing. I created incarnations, beings born from parts of my body and soul", he paused for a moment to see that Kagome was indeed paying attention, he smirked thinking it would be easy to convince such a simple minded girl. "However these creatures I made are not right".

"What do you mean?" Kagome asked curious to hear what he had to say, though she didn't lower her bow, she still did not trust his words.

"Whenever I look at them I hate them, every time I look into their eyes I just see a part of myself glaring back at me, because that's what my incarnations are, at their core they're still just a part of me. That's why I need you, you are like them except you're not a part of Inuyasha that he cast off, you're independent, you can go anywhere, do anything. That's all I want to create a lifeform, a legacy that will live on after I die", Naraku explained his reasoning for everything.

"That's it?" Kagome wasn't fully convinced.

"Yes, so will you help me? Will you help me so I can have children?" He almost sounded sincere playing on her compassion.

"Is that your reason", Kagome titled her head down to where her eyes were hidden by her bangs, she suddenly fired an arrow that Naraku barely dodged, the magical projectile clipped his shoulder making him hiss in pain as a bit of his dark magic was eaten away.

"Is that your reason for all the pain and suffering you caused?!" Kagome screamed pulling out another arrow, "You cursed Miroku and his whole family, destroyed Sango's people, turned her own brother against her, but most of all you tried to hurt Inuyasha!" she fired another arrow that just grazed Naraku's head, the magic shattered part of his mask revealing his shocked wide left eye. "You must think I'm stupid if you thought for even a second that I would believe such nonsense. No one could possibly justify the things you've done, so what's your real reason?!" Kagome fired another arrow and this time he dodged it. "Answer me!" Naraku began to chuckle evilly as he dodged another magic arrow.

"So you saw through me, your much more perceptive than you let on, but not matter", he smirked watching her pull back on another arrow. "I'll tell you as a reward then. What I really want is eternal life. Since the legendary sacred Shikon jewel was lost a long time ago I've been pursuing other leads to immortality", he stopped talking seeing she wasn't shooting at him anymore. "My incarnations are connected to me, they die when I die, so they aren't the answer, but you, you're the answer. I want to create a being like you, that I can transfer my soul to and be free from this perpetual decaying body. Then I can do it again and again, I'll live forever". What he just said made Kagome remember what Inuyasha said about dark magic, how it rots the wielders soul away until they become empty husks that can't truly live anymore and realized that's what Naraku was suffering from currently.

"Wait you think your body is the problem?" Kagome asked.

"Of course what else could it be?" Naraku sneered at her.

"Maybe it's your soul that's rotting away into nothing", she said.

"My soul rotting away? Don't be ridiculous, souls don't just rot away", he laughed. "I want eternal life and I don't care who I have to step over to get it!"

"Your just a monster", Kagome said firing another arrow seeing how he was either in denial or didn't know what was truly wrong with him. The arrow went straight through Naraku's chest. "You're finished!" The demon remained silently for a moment, the only sound being the crackling of flames around him. Naraku startled chuckling as he stood back up completely fine and not dead.

"Finished am I? I don't think so", the cloak fell off revealing Naraku except he had what looked like an incomplete body. His head and neck was all that looked human, while the rest of his body was a mass of fleshly squirming tentacles floating off the ground, with a space left open where her arrow struck. "Your arrow didn't pierce my heart, it simply passed through it", he watched her shock with an evil grin. "Oh dear, are you out of arrows in that quiver of yours?" he laughed seeing Kagome reach for an arrow that wasn't there.

"Now, you're coming with me, whether you want to or not!" Naraku's body began to morph and expand becoming even larger. It was similar to the form he took when Inuyasha first fought him, with the lower half of him a huge mass of demonic limbs and tentacles. They all lunged towards Kagome intent on capturing her. Kagome dodged as best she could with the training Sango gave her, but without her arrows she had no way of attacking him back.

"You can't run forever!" Naraku laughed as more squirming appendages erupted out of the ground catching her off guard. Kagome made the unfortunate mistake of taking her eyes off him to dodge the oncoming attack, one of the main tentacles grabbed ahold of her, locking her legs together as it wrapped around them and causing her to slam into the ground.

"Now I've got you", he chuckled slowly pulling her towards him. "Ah, but first I'll have to leave a little goodbye present for Inuyasha", another tentacle stretched out towards her and tore most of her top off, she had to cover her breasts to keep the rags that were left from falling off. Naraku then sliced off half of her long black hair. "Good this will be perfect to leave behind", Kagome glared at him as he tossed her top and hair in a pile, but before he could drag her completely to himself a large hand appeared gripping the tentacle that held her. It was Jinenji only suffering from a few burnt patches on his arms and legs, he saw Kagome in danger and for the first time ever decided to act instead of cower away.

"Let go of me fool", Naraku frowned seeing the half demon, Jinenji's grip didn't loosen, instead he tightened his hold rather painfully. "If that's how you want it", Naraku raised his hand and shot a blast of his poisonous miasma at the big guy.

"Jinenji look out!" Kagome yelled seeing the poor man in danger. Jinenji didn't move or lose his hold as he was blasted by the demon's deadly vapor. He stayed strong despite the miasma trying to kill him, Naraku was confused about how someone could remain alive from such a poison. What nobody knew was that years of being exposed to herbs and the healing properties they possessed had left him immune to demonic poisons like this one. He grabbed ahold of the appendage that gripped Kagome with both hands and tore it in half with a sickening sound of flesh ripping apart.

"Leave her alone!" Jinenji marched towards Naraku who only grinned and launched more of his tentacles at him, he stood his ground as he was whipped and battered. He walked towards the demon despite the bombardment of limbs and miasma. Naraku actually grew a little nervous as this half demon slowly marched towards him no matter what he threw at him. Two giant hands popped out of the poison cloud and grabbed the larger tentacles comprising a majority of his lower body.

"How cute and what can a weakling like you possibly…", Naraku's condescending speech was cut off as Jinenji lifted him up by his tentacles with surprising strength and repeatedly slammed him back and forth like a sack of potatoes. Kagome watched as Jinenji's body glowed as he comically threw Naraku into the ground over and over, she rested on her knees trying to keep her top from falling off when something white caught her eyes. One of the arrows she already used sat on the ground inches away from her.

"Now go away!" Jinenji threw Naraku with all his strength towards the forest. The humans scurried out of the way as the large mass of flesh and Naraku came tumbling like a boulder towards them losing pieces of his body along the way. His back slammed painfully into a tree, the rest of him was torn and ruined, tentacles and demon limbs useless, he spat up blood and gasped painfully for breath which was difficult after getting the wind repeatedly knocked out of him. He looked down searching for something, anything he could use to strike back, but it was now all useless obliterated flesh. Naraku looked up just in time to see one of Kagome's magic arrows coming straight for his heart. He panicked and managed to move himself a bit, but the arrow lodged itself into his chest just missing his vital organ. He screamed in pain as her power consumed his dark magic and used it to explode outward erasing nearly half of his body. He yelled in anger at being forced to retreat again, his miasma surrounded him and he floated up into the air.

"You little bitch, you'll pay for this!" Naraku disappeared into the sky. Kagome watched him leave sighing in relief when she felt his evil presence recede. She saw a large hand holding the torn part of her top out to her.

"Are you alright?" Jinenji asked handing her the red clothe, Kagome gratefully accepted it and placed it to the small piece on her body and it magically repaired itself back to its normal state, a simple clothing enchantment courtesy of Inuyasha. Unfortunately her hair was not something she could fix and would have to leave it short like it is for now.

"I'm fine thanks to you Jinenji", Kagome smiled up at him. "That was amazing I didn't know you were so strong".

"I should have mentioned my boy's tougher than he looks", Jinenji's mother remarked coming to stand by them. The fire's had stopped, but half the field was gone along with their hut. The human villagers that Naraku manipulated cautiously approached feeling a little guilty for all the trouble they caused. Jinenji noticed them and slowly marched over to the men. They all bowed their heads in fear, thinking he was going to hit them, but the large half demon held out a small pouch for them to take.

"These should help for those of you that breathed the miasma", he said softly. The villagers looked shocked at his kindness and gratefully accepted. Kagome spent the rest of the night helping Jinenji and his mother salvage through what was left of their home. In the morning the villagers showed up to help claiming they were sorry for what they did and wanted to make up for it. The men promised to rebuild their hut and work on restoring their herb fields whenever they could. Kagome figured she had been gone too long and decided to leave before Inuyasha came limping after her.

"Thanks Jinenji, you're very kind and very brave", she said jumping up to hug him, wrapping her arms around his neck. The half demon blushed at the close contact, but secretly welcomed it.

"Good bye Kagome, it was nice meeting you", Jinenji said waving at her.

"Bye I'll come back soon and I'll bring Inuyasha!" Kagome called back jumping into the forest. It took about half the day to return back to the hut her friends were staying. She realized this whole trip took longer than Inuyasha said it would and that she would have some explaining to do, some that Inuyasha wouldn't be happy to hear, like Naraku attacking her again. When she arrived she peeked through the entrance to see Inuyasha sitting up with some of his wounds healed which relieved her immensely. Kagome also noticed Shippou was sitting on his lap and Inuyasha appeared to be reading from an old beat up book with the title worn off.

"What's this one about?" Shippou asked looking up at him.

"Ah this one was always my favorite 'The King's Nine Magic Tools' a classic", Inuyasha smirked turning the page.

"You see Shippou there was a King that originally established all the magical arts and techniques that we sorcerers practice to this very day. He was a kind man revered for his limitless power and legendary magic", Inuyasha continued the story showing him the illustration of a man with a crown, a robe and glowing golden light around him before turning the page. "But before he became the King he needed to establish himself as one".

"What does that mean?" the fox boy asked confused.

"Well he needed to make himself a King since there was no one ruling magic. He needed to be acknowledged as a king and respected. The only way to do this was to achieve ultimate power and he did this by creating The Nine Magic Tools", he turned the page.

"What are those?"

"They are legendary all powerful objects of great magic that he made himself, well he did have help with a few", he turned the page revealing an illustration of a clay brown ring attached around the wrist of a man, it was covered in lines carved into a maze like pattern. "The first one he made was called the Earth Bangle, an object that when worn can allow them to control every form of earth, sand, dirt, stone, mud clay", Inuyasha turned the page showing an image of a light blue scepter with a white star shaped crystal at the top, "The Ice Wand, the King created this by capturing an entire blizzard that plagued his country and channeling into a scepter, one wave could freeze an entire forest", the next page showed a small staff shaped like a white lightning bolt, "This a fun one The Lightning Rod, the King made this one by catching a lightning bolt before it struck him, he then formed it into a rod, whoever controls this can move at the speed of lightning". Kagome watched Inuyasha reading the story to Shippou and smiled, he could act very fatherly when he wanted to. That's exactly what this looked like to her, a father reading a fairy tale to his son. Before Inuyasha continued he sniffed the air catching Kagome's scent.

"We'll have to finish this story later, Kagome's back", Inuyasha said standing up closing the book much to Shippou's disappointment.

"Come on I want to know about the other magic tools", the boy whined.

"Relax the story isn't going anywhere, that's the good thing about fairy tales they're not real, so they can't go anywhere", he said reassuringly.

"How do you know The Nine Magic Tools aren't real Inuyasha?" Shippou said challengingly.

"Because kid, I'm a well experienced sorcerer and trust me when I say they're just a myth people started", he glared down at him.

"Inuyasha don't be mean, let him have his fantasy", Kagome said coming into the hut.

"You're too soft on…what the hell happened to you?" Inuyasha said noticing her hair cut short and a bruise on her shoulder.

"Oh well something happened where I went", Kagome said dreading this conversation while rubbing the back of her head nervously. She told him everything that happened, even the part where Naraku attacked her revealing what he was truly after and as she thought Inuyasha had to blow up.

"That…SLIMY COWARDLY FUCKING BASTARD!" the half demon shouted startling everything in a two mile radius. Inuyasha was beyond pissed, that Naraku would stoop so low, not that he expected much.

"Inuyasha you have to calm down!" Kagome tried reasoning with him as he paced the room furiously.

"First I'll pull his spine out of his mouth", Inuyasha began muttering off darkly.

"Inuyasha…", Kagome tried again.

"Then I'll burn both his arms and legs so he can't crawl away", he continued.

"Inuyasha"", Kagome attempted to reach him.

"Next I'll crush his bones for daring to touch Kagome".

"Inu.."

"And finally I'll.."

"SIT BOY!" Kagome shouted making him flinch, in fact he nearly jumped off the floor at her harsh shrill tone. He paused quietly for a moment to collect himself and cool down. Inuyasha's mind finally registered what Kagome just said and he couldn't help but burst out laughing.

"Are you alright now?" she smiled seeing him laugh so hard must be a good thing.

"Yeah, yeah, that was a good one, 'SIT BOY!', to a half dog demon", he chuckled at the hilarity of it all. Kagome walked up and hugged him tightly and reassuringly.

"By the way I got the herbs you need!", Kagome exclaimed pulling out the small bag.

"That's good, how's Jinenji still a momma's boy", he joked.

"He was really sweet, he protected me from Naraku", she said happily.

"I better thank him personally next time I see him", Inuyasha heard a groan coming from the floor behind him. Miroku turned himself on his side to look at the two of them, Sango sat against the wall behind him choosing to sit back and watch the spectacle they made.

"It would be lovely if you two could keep the noise down a bit", the monk said sarcastically, in truth he would prefer silence so he could sleep the pain away.

"Right your still here, I better get to work on that antidote, so you can stop complaining", Inuyasha sighed rubbing the back off his head. Kagome smiled seeing how everyone had gotten so familiar with each other. Whether Inuyasha admitted it or not they were all close friends that cared about one another.

Damn this was a long chapter.

I hope you enjoyed it. I felt like I was neglecting Kagome's character for a while so I decided to make this chapter for her. I hope you liked Jinenji throwing Naraku around like a rag doll, that little bit was inspired by that scene in the Avengers where the Hulk just grabs Loki by the feet and slams him into the ground repeatedly, I thought it was a funny image.

Jinenji was actually being saved for one of the sequels, but like I said I wanted a Kagome focused chapter and having him show up just fit. The King's Nine Magic Tools is a fairytale I made up for this story, something that Inuyasha can read to Shippou like a bed time story.

Thank you for reading, until next time.
