Small Note

Sakura: We are finally at the second to last chapter! I made this one extra long for a few reasons... One was because I wanted to have a good long chapter and also I wanted to fit as much as I could in this one because the next one is the last chapter. I have an important question for all my readers at the end of the chapter so please do not skip it!

Chapter 21

The Werewolf Awakens

Silence covered the room as the ones in the room began to process what had happened. Finally the quiet was broken by Hermione who simply stated, "You attacked a teacher!"

Yami shrugged as if it was nothing. It actually felt pretty good to finally get back at Snape for everything he did to the students and him when he had attended Hogwarts. Out of the corner of his eye he saw Harry still had a wand at the ready to use it if necessary so he kept on watch. He did not care if they were children, he would protect his family.

Yuugi watched as the young boy got brave and held the wand out making them keep his distance from him. Harry's hand shook, but he kept a brave face as he said, "Tell me about Peter Pettigrew!" By that statement Yuugi knew Harry was still confused about what he saw on the map and there was no telling what had been talked about before Yuugi and Yami got there.

"He was at school with us," Remus told him as he walked closer to Yuugi and placed a hand on his son's shoulder. The younger werewolf knew it was more comfort for Remus than Yuugi since this was a delicate situation. "We thought he was our friend."

"No, Pettigrew's dead!" Harry stated, but Yuugi could tell by his voice that he wasn't sure what to believe. "You killed him!" The boy exclaimed as he pointed the wand at Sirius, who had moved slightly away from his family.

"No he didn't!" Remus tried to reason with the boy as he left Yuugi's side and walked in front of Sirius keeping the wand from being pointed at him. "I thought so too, until you mentioned seeing Pettigrew on the Map!"

Harry shook his head. "The Map was lying then."

"The Map never lies!" Sirius stated causing all eyes to turn to him. "Pettigrew's alive and he's right there!" The way his finger pointed everyone, except Remus, Yuugi, and Yami thought he was pointing at Ron.

"Me?" The injured boy exclaimed. "He's mental! I…"

Sirius put his hand down and rolled his eyes. "Not you. Your rat!" He said interrupting Ron.

"Scabbers had been in my family for…" Ron began to say trying to defend his rat that he held tightly in his hands.

"12 years?!" Sirius interrupted Ron again, "A curiously long life for a common garden rat. He's missing a toe isn't he?" All eyes continued to stay on Sirius as he inched closer to Ron, but no other movements were made.

"So what..?" Ron questioned in fear.

"All they could find of Pettigrew was his fi…" Harry began to say but did not get to finish his sentence as Sirius cut back in with, "Finger!"

"The dirty coward cut it off so that everyone would think he was dead," Sirius shouted in rage as he stood in front of Ron. "Then he transformed into a rat."

Out of nowhere Harry said, "Show me…" while Ron whimpered at having Sirius Black so close to him.

There was no telling Sirius twice as he grabbed for the rat causing it to squeak like crazy, but Ron refused to let go. "Give him to him, Ron," Harry demanded of Ron, who at that point let go.

"What are you trying to do to him?" Ron shouted, "Scabbers!"

Sirius carried the rat by its neck over to the piano as Remus picked up two discarded wands off the ground also moving Yuugi out of the way. Yuugi moved closer to Yami as he watched his father drop the dirty thing on the piano both of them trying to perform a spell on the rat as he tried to run away.

It ran all over the piano avoiding the spell, before jumping off the piano and running toward the other room. A spell came to mind that his parents were trying to do, so Yuugi held out his hand and performed the spell without saying a word. The rat morphed quickly into a chubby man creating a larger hole in the dividing wall that he had tried to escape through.

Sirius and Remus both moved over to the stuck man and grabbed him by the back of his coat yanking him out of the hole and pushed him to the middle of the room. They both kept their wands ready in case he tried something else. Harry had moved out of the way, putting himself closer to Yuugi, Yami, and the door leaving no escape for Pettigrew.

The man took a minute to compose himself still acting like a rat and it allowed Yuugi to get a better look. He had not age gracefully being a rat. Pettigrew had large buck teeth like a rat and his nails had grown long. His face was scrunched up like he smelled something bad along with graying hair that was residing back. There was one finger missing on his left hand allowing clear proof this was the man everyone had been looking for. Just the thought of handing him over to the ministry for his crimes seemed too nice in Yuugi's mind. This short fat ugly man ruined his life and many others, but most of all he took Sirius away from Yuugi.

Finally as if he was in a state of fake shock did Peter utter a sound, "Remus? Sirius?" He questioned as if he could not believe his eyes. "My old friends!" There was a sound of gleam as he pretended to go in for a hug and Yuugi knew he planned to transform however thanks to Yuugi's spell he was not able to, so Yuugi's parents simply pushed him back to the middle of the room.

Both Remus and Sirius watched carefully with their wands ready as Peter looked around the room trying to find a new escape. Those beady eyes caught sight of Yuugi, but the glare he received from Yami and the growl from Yuugi, caused those eyes to quickly shift to Harry "Harry, look at you. You look so much like your father, like James." He said as he moved closer to the boy causing Harry to back up. "We were the best of friends, he and I…"

Pettigrew's speech was cut short as Sirius moved in between them blocking not only Harry, but Yuugi as well from Peter, shouting, "How dare you speak to Harry!"

There was an animalistic grunt that came from the short man, who turned and ran behind the piano like a scared little rat. "How dare you talk about James in front of him!" Sirius continued to shout as he and Remus followed both blocking his way leaving him trapped behind the piano. Yuugi felt he should have been upset by the way Sirius was protecting Harry from Peter, but he couldn't because Harry was like a son as much as Yuugi was to him. Peter had no right to speak to either of them and the way the rat had ignored him caused Yuugi to believe he knew better than to try and talk to Yuugi or he would have been dead on the spot from his enraged father and papa.

"You sold James and Lily to Voldermort, didn't you?" Remus questioned in anger trying to get the truth out of Peter.

"I didn't mean to!" The pitiful man said with fake tears coming to his eyes. Sure he was scared now, but Yuugi was sure he hadn't been scared when he got Harry's parents killed. "The Dark Lord you have no idea the weapons he possesses! Ask yourself Sirius!" Peter continued pointing to the man. "What would you have done?"

"I would have died!" Sirius shouted at him without hesitation. "I would have died rather than betray my friends!" He shouted again as Peter ducked under the piano and crawled under it quickly getting to the other side and running back up to Harry.

Peter grabbed the boy's shoulders and tried to whisper in his ear, but Yuugi could clearly hear what was being said. "Harry, James wouldn't have wanted me killed! Your dad would have spared me! He would have shown me mercy!"

Yuugi could not take any more as he grabbed the man by the back of his coat and yanked him off of Harry causing him to fall to the floor on his rear end. He glared down at him with a growl showing sharp teeth and all to show he meant business. "Do not touch him again you piece of filth!"

The rat of a man backed up away from Yuugi as Remus and Sirius came back around to the front of Peter pointing their wands at him. "You should have realized Peter," Sirius began with a smirk on his face, "That if Voldermort didn't kill you, then we would, together."

"No!"

Yuugi turned to look at Harry in shock. This was the man who had made both their lives hell for years and he was stopping him from being killed. "Harry, this man is…"

"I know what he is." Harry interrupted Yuugi as he looked down at the older teen. "But we'll take him to the castle."

"Oh, bless you, boy," Peter said as he went to his knees. "Bless you!"

Harry's face took on a scowl, "I said we'd take you to the castle. After that, the dementors can have you."

There was only two seconds that passed as Peter's face went from happy to a crying mess after that statement and Yuugi was enjoying every minute of it. He smiled with joy as he went over to his father and hugged him even as Sirius wrapped one arm around him but kept his other hand with his wand still ready if Peter tried anything.

The younger wolf was finally going to have his family back and Harry would get some justice for his parents. That night was turning out to be too perfect to be true.

The journey back through the path toward the entrance at the whomping willow was an interesting one. Down the winding path Yuugi led the pack with a big smile on his face as Sirius and Harry walked behind him half carrying half helping Ron walk on his injured leg. Hermione was behind them simply following while Yami was behind her using a simple spell to carry the unconscious Snape out. They already had some lame excuse about how he knocked himself out since no one wanted Yami to get in trouble. Further back from the group taking their sweet time was Pettigrew and Remus. Remus had to keep a careful eye on Pettigrew as they walked so he couldn't escape or try something even though he couldn't transform thanks to Yuugi.

While they walked Sirius started to talk to the two boys beside him, "Sorry about the bite. I reckon that twinges a bit." He finally apologized after the long walk of silence.

"A bit…?" Ron asked with sarcasm. "A bit?! You almost tore my leg off!"

"Now, I was going for the rat," Sirius said in his defense. "Normally, I have a very sweet disposition as a dog. In fact, more than once, James suggested that I make the change permanent. The tail I could live with, but the fleas…" He paused for a minute in their walk to let them catch their breath, before he continued with, "They're murder."

"So true…" Yuugi said with a laugh finally joining in if only for that second. He could picture his father as a dog running around for the rest of his life, but he was pretty sure his papa would not enjoy that so much. It would be weird having a husband who was a dog.

Another minute and they finally reached the opening where it was dark outside and well pass their curfew judging by the moon. Yuugi went through first to make sure the Whomping Willow was behaving and since it was still frozen he left it alone and helped the other two get Ron out. The three of them set him near the opening, before Sirius took a look around and walked off a bit. Yuugi moved to the side as Hermione came up and both her and Harry stayed beside Ron. It was kind of awkward for the moment and Yuugi couldn't decide whether to follow his father or wait for Yami. For a moment Yuugi thought about following his father until he saw Harry get up and go over to him.

Thankfully Yami came through the opening next and pretty much tossed Snape to the side as he walked up to Yuugi and wrapped his arms around him. "How are you feeling?"

Yuugi smiled up at him before his eyes moved back to see Sirius and Harry talking. "I'm not really sure what to feel for the moment. I mean after all this time I can finally get my parents back."

"I guess that means no traveling the world on the run anymore…" Yami teased playfully, since he knew once Sirius was free Yuugi was going to want to go back to his parents. He was a little upset their plans would be changing, but it was all for the better.

Yuugi chuckled and grabbed one of Yami's hands lacing their fingers together. "Just because I'll have my father back doesn't mean we can't travel. I'll still have the ministry on my tail end trying to keep me in line given their stupid fears. However I first want to help my father get settled back after all those years he spent in prison."

"I think I can live with that." A kiss was placed on Yuugi's head before all eyes turned to the crying shaking mess that was Pettigrew as Remus came out of the opening next making sure Peter was behind him.

The rat kept going on and on about not wanting to be given to the dementors, before his eyes settled on Ron. He latched on to the boys arm, "Ron, ha-haven't I been a good friend, a good pet? You won't let them give me to the dementors, will you? I was your rat!" He pleaded of the boy, who cringe and tried to move away.

As Remus tried to pull Pettigrew away, Peter turned to Hermione and started to beg her, "Oh, sweet girl! Clever girl! Surely you won't let them…"

He never got to finish his sentence as Remus yanked him off the ground and moved him away from the group, "Get away from her!"

Yuugi and Yami moved out of the way too, so they wouldn't be caught in his grasp. Honestly Yuugi wished someone would just put the guy out of his misery. He turned back briefly to see how Harry and Sirius were doing when out of nowhere he felt this horrible pain in his chest. The young wolf grabbed the front of his shirt confused by the pain.

Yami looked down in worry, "Hey is everything okay?"

Yuugi cringed again at the pain. "I-I'm not s-sure…"

"Harry!" Hermione shouted out of nowhere, causing all eyes to turn to her. She pointed to the sky where out of the blue the full moon started to come out from behind the clouds.

Yuugi eyes widened at the sight, before his glaze immediately went to his papa. He knew where this pain was coming from and he had to get out of their now. However time was not on his side as Remus was already going through his transformation causing him to drop his wand. Sirius was quick to get to his husband's side and try to talk to him not even paying attention as Pettigrew picked up the wand.

Through the pain and aching head Yuugi watched as Harry tried to stop Peter, but he had already performed the spell giving him back his transformation ability. A second later a rat was on the ground running away and Yuugi was falling to his knees in both pain and anger. So badly Yuugi wanted to stop that murderer from getting away, but his body was not his own anymore.

This was the first time Yami had ever seen Yuugi like this during the full moon. He kneeled down beside him and tried to calm him down, however he honestly had no idea what do to. The older could only watch as against his will Yuugi started to transform along with Remus. Seconds later both Sirius and Yami were tossed from their respected lovers, as two powerful werewolves stood before them howling at the moon.

Yami shook off the fall he had taken and took a look at his lover. Unlike his papa who was slightly hairless with little grey hair, Yuugi was covered in midnight black fur like his other wolf transformation. The only real difference between the two transformations of Yuugi was that in this form he was stronger, taller, and could stand like a human. In whatever form the younger took, Yami could find something beautiful about him. While the others dealt with Remus, Yami carefully stood up and approached his partner.

"Yuugi?" Yami questioned and watched as the younger's ears perked up. He knew a werewolf was never in their right mind and could see everyone as the enemy, but he was hoping Yuugi would be different. Then Yami took notice of what Yuugi was so staring at so intently that kept him from turning to look at Yami. The little werewolf was watching as his papa carefully approached the three third year students and professor Snape, who Yami never noticed had woken up during all this.

The professor was knocked down quickly by a swipe of Remus's paw as he continued to growl getting ready to strike again when out of the blue he was knocked down by a large black dog. Sirius growled and barked at his mate as they circled each other. Yami knew now why Yuugi's attention was on nothing but his parents. He was simply a werewolf with a mind of a puppy waiting to see what its mother would do.

Seeing it as his chance to maybe pull Yuugi away as Remus and Sirius continued to fight, Yami reached out his hand to calmly touch Yuugi's upper arm. If he could get Yuugi far enough, then maybe he could gain control. However Yami never thought his own lover would turn and attack him without warning when his hand came in contact with Yuugi's arm. Yami held his bleeding arm as he continued to hold his ground in front of Yuugi. The younger growled and stared him down, before there was like a light that went off in Yuugi's head.

The younger werewolf whimpered like a dog that had done something it was not supposed to and turned to run off after Sirius and Remus, who both ran off only seconds ago. Harry disobeyed Snape, who was shouting at him to come back and ran after all three of them.

Thinking quickly Yami tore off part of his robes and started to wrap his arm before he bled to death. The look in Yuugi's eyes told Yami that Yuugi knew he had just attacked something he held dearly, so hopefully he wasn't as lost as Remus was and would come back to Yami safely. Hope was all Yami had at the moment as he went to his knees as his head started to spin. The night just went from perfect to downhill in a matter of minutes.

"Harry?" Hermione whispered softly as she tried to wake the sleeping boy.

Yami rolled his eyes at her failed attempts for the last few minutes. The morning sun had risen in the sky and it wouldn't be long before the Hogwarts students would be getting ready to head to the Great Hall for breakfast. The older male hated that he was stuck in the medical wing of Hogwarts, but he along with Hermione, Ron, and Harry were trapped there after their little adventure the night before. The traitor known as Snape pretty much dragged Ron, Hermione and himself back to Hogwarts, before a party was sent out to search for the others. Harry and Sirius were the only ones that were found and while Harry was bought to the hospital wing, Sirius was locked up somewhere, but Yami had no clue where. He was worried about what would happen to the man, but more importantly he was worried about Yuugi. His little werewolf had not returned to the castle and it kept Yami up the rest of the night worrying about him. Thankfully the claw marks Yuugi had given him had not been life threatening just left him dizzy from blood lost and he was informed by the head nurse he would probably have permanent scars on his arm. It was a small price to pay after everything that happened that night.

His attention was bought back from his thoughts as Harry seemed to have woken up and was discussing something with Hermione, and then she turned serious as she informed him what was going on while he was out.

"Listen Harry, they've captured Sirius. Any minute now the dementors are going to perform the kiss."

Harry was quick to leap up off his bed and grab his glasses. "You mean they're gonna kill him?" He asked in both shock and worry.

"No, it's worse than that." Yami added in causing them to look at him. "They're going to suck out his soul." He said with a scowl. So much he wished he wasn't stuck there was so he would help Yuugi's father. The man had been nothing but kind to him and this would kill Yuugi if he lost his father for good.

The sound of doors opening turned all their attention to the double doors as Dumbledore strolled in.

Hermione was quick to walk over to him saying, "Headmaster, you've got to stop them! They've got the wrong man!"

Harry was right behind her adding in, "It is true sir. Sirius is innocent!"

"It's Scabbers who did it," A third voice said out of the blue and all eyes turned to Ron who was laid up on his bed with his injured leg casted up and on a pillow.

"Scabbers..?" Dumbledore questioned with an odd look in his eye.

"He's my rat sir. Well he's not really a rat… uh, well he was a rat. He was my brother Percy's rat. But then they gave him an owl, then I got…" Ron began his long winded explanation, before Hermione finally interrupted him and said, "Point is, we know the truth."

Hermione turned back to Dumbledore and almost look as if she was about to cry. "Please believe us…"

Yami watched in amazement as these three students were helping defend Sirius after all that they had heard. For years people believed Sirius was a criminal with only few who still believed in the man. Now there were other voices besides Yami and Yuugi's standing up for the man. He waited to see what the headmaster would say because he was the only one who had true power at Hogwarts.

"I do Miss Granger," Dumbledore said as he placed a hand on her shoulder. "But I'm sorry to say, the word of three thirteen-year-old wizards and one assistant professor will convince few others." He cut his eyes to Yami as he said that last part, before moving past Harry and Hermione and walking over to Ron.

"A child's voice, however honest and true, is meaningless…" All three cringed for Ron as the headmaster placed his hand on the boy's foot and Ron whimpered in pain. "…to those who have forgotten how to listen."

A far off look developed in Dumbledore's eyes as he looked past Harry and Hermione out the doors at something, but Yami could not see what. "Mysterious thing, time. It is powerful and when meddled with dangerous." Dumbledore said as he began to walk back toward the doors. He stopped just before the doors as the main clock at Hogwarts began to chime. "Sirius Black is in the topmost cell of the Dark Tower," He then turned quickly back to the students. "You know the laws, Miss Granger. You must not be seen and you would do well, I feel to return before this last chime. If not the consequences are too ghastly to discuss."

Just when Yami could not think the headmaster could not get any weirder, he walked back slightly toward the girl and continued to say. "If you succeed tonight more than one innocent life may be spared." Dumbledore pretended to turn something with two fingers, "Three turns should do it, I think."

Once that was said and done the headmaster walked back to the doors. He started to close them, but poked his head back in at the last minute and quickly said, "Oh by the way, when in doubt I find retracing my steps to be a wise place to begin. Good luck." The doors shut behind him leaving all of them except one completely confused about what had just happened.

"What the bloody hell was that all about?" Ron asked saying what all of them were thinking.

Yami couldn't have agreed with him more, but once he saw the look in Hermione's eyes he knew she knew what Dumbledore had been talking about. He watched as she apologized to Ron, before pulling a long chain from around her neck. She wrapped it around both her and Harry, before turning something in her hand that Yami could not see. Then as if by magic which it probably was, both of them disappeared surprising both Yami and Ron.

"What the…" However Yami did not get to finish his sentence as the doors to the room opened up again and Yami was seriously hoping it was his lover but instead it was none other than Harry and Hermione. The gears in Yami's head were turning a mile a minute trying to put together what the hell was going on.

"How did you get there?" Ron asked as he pointed to the spot they had been standing when they disappeared, "You were… I was talking to you there and now you're there."

Hermione simply turned to Harry with a grin on her face. "What's he talking about Harry?"

"I don't know," Harry said with a shrug and a grin of his own. "Honestly, Ron, how can somebody be in two places at once?"

The two of them started to chuckle as Yami simply lay back down. It was way too early in the morning and he was running on lack of sleep to try and figure it out what was going on. Hopefully when he woke up from his nap Yuugi's smiling face would be there to greet him.

Sakura: That took forever to type! I knew the place I wanted to leave it, it was just getting there that was the problem…Alright I'm not sure whether I confused my readers or not, but if you have seen the movie you know about Harry and Hermione's disappearing and reappearing act, I just took out all the other stuff since neither Yuugi and Yami were going to be a part of it. Next chapter Yuugi will return and it will be the last chapter to Deathly Child! Other than that I have one more thing to say before you leave a review…

IMPORTANT: Sequel or No Sequel? I already have it planned out just not typed up yet so it will be a while, plus I want to start a new story and finish my other story Hunters Game before I even think about giving everyone the sequel. I will be skipping the fourth movie/book and the sequel will focus around the fifth movie/book. So let me know what you think and if most want a sequel I will try my hardest to get one typed up and ready to go sometime next year.
