Alright everyone, have your tissues ready because I was crying on this.

Bubbles' POV

I guess it couldn't hurt to tell her about it. I looked down at the floor and I lifted my left shoulder up higher to see Buttercup the mark, " This is the Ring of Shivar."

Her gem necklace glowed brighter towards my mark, "Malthus Shivar...I think I have her, she is bounded to Malthus, the Zodiac thing of Ice right?

"Yes...did you know that once upon a time, Shivar City was a big huge city. I've only seen pictures by it was one of the wonders of the world. But then...there was a battle, because Malthus Village was...I don't know...I got so confused about that...she fought Malthus...you want to know the funny thing, she wouldn't have lost...if it wasn't for my Daddy."

Buttercup looked so confused.

"I guess I should start over...ya know...Every so often, Mermaids' tails spilt in half and turn into legs or if they're on dry land long enough. Mermaids go on land for one thing, "I whispered into Buttercup's ear, "to reproduce."

Seeing Buttercup's face turned to this light peachy blush and she just looked so bashful and embarrassed about it, it was made me chuckle a little.

"Seriously?"

"Yes, so they go and 'snare' a guy, of course...some of them just glad a guy from a boat too...but when a mermaid is on land, that's the only time a man is actually safe from them. So, if the mermaid gives birth to a girl, she's a mermaid, but if a boy, then they bring him to shore...like to the Daddy's house or on a ship. That's how Water and Ice Humes get their water abilities and stuff. Boomer knows better about that stuff than I do...Of course...there's...another...if the baby is born special..."

Bubbles' flashback

I was about four, remembered the ocean...the clear but foggy waters, swimming through chucks of ice. I was holding someone's hand, but she was so closed to the surface, that the sun blinded her whenever I looked up. I just assumed that it was my mother.

"Where are we going?" I asked but she never answered. She pulled me onto the surface first, It was easy for me to walk on the snow and my flippers became feet in no time.

The woman came up after me, crawling onto the ice with her tail dragging along. I saw her, and my image of my mother never left my mind. She was beautiful, whitish blonde hair like mines but she had the prettiest cool violets eyes, dark long lashes and deep red lips, her skin was smooth and soft scales, and the color of cream.

She started to sing: (I don't own this song)

Upon one summer's morning
I carefully did stray
Down by the Walls of Wapping
Where I met a sailor gay.

She was sitting there, wait for her tail to dry, dressing me up in the clothes that she brought with us. Her tail finally dried up and were split into legs. She dressed herself up and I was her holding my hand, pulling me along as we walked through the snow...

"Mommy?" I asked, but she never said a word, we walked through the woods in silence. No Monster or animal bothered us as we marched on until there was a small cottage.

She kneeled down and gave me this bracelet, it was so pretty. It was in the shape of a three snowflakes, she placed in my hands.

"Be good." She barely whispered as she just knocked on a door, "Sorry."

She touched my cheek and lean her forehead on mines as sing, hardly above a whisper: My Heart is pierced by Cupid

She knocked on the door again and hearing a man's voice, she walked away...she just walked away.

"Mommy...Mommy...wait." I could barely speak, she stopped but then she just walked away. I was so confused...the door opened...I turned away to see this man with brown hair and light blue eyes, "Mommy..."

I turned back, I remembered that moment...the snow fall was so heavy and she disappeared. She was just gone...

"Mommy...Mommy! Mommy!" I just dropped the bracelet and tried to run after her, but I fell. Tears fell down my cheeks as I struggled to get back up, but that's when the man grabbed me.

"Where did you get this?" He pulled me up, grabbing me so tight, but I struggled, I bit him and scratched him, "ANSWER ME!"

"LET ME GO! I WANT MY MOMMY! MOMMY! MOMMY! MOMMY!" I bit him his hand again, he let me go and I fell in the snow, I couldn't stop the tears as I laid on the snow, "Mommy...mommy...come back...please."

"It can't be." He said, I looked up at him and I guess, a piece of my cloak ripped, " The bracelet...where did you get this?"

"Mommy...Mommy...gave it to me."

His eyes widened as he walked past me, as he just shouted, "CANA! CANA! Cana...Damn it...Damn it, "He just turned and looked at me again, "Just...just stay there." He was about to run off, when there was snarling and this figure staggering through the snow.

I was so happy, I thought she came back, "Mommy!" I yelled as I was about to run after the shadow but he grabbed me.

"Don't be stupid," He snatched me up.

"Let me go! Let go!" I struggled again, but was instantly carried into the cottage. He threw me on the floor, I got up and struggled to open the door, but he pushed me away, "MOMMY! MOMMY!"

He covered my mouth, "SHUSH! SHUT UP! Do you want to be killed? That's not your mother, your mother-" He stopped himself as tears came down my eyes, "I just can't believe this...You can't be...how old are you?"

I was silent as I held up four fingers. He stood up and was walking around.

"This...this can't be...but...but I gave this bracelet to one person...but...but...and those eyes...oh damn...What's your name?"

"Aurora." I sniffed.

"That's very pretty...very pretty. You...you should wash up...are you hungry?"

"I want my mommy!" I shouted.

He looked so heart broken, as he looked at my feet, they were still webbed, he nodded, "I see...now I see. I'm sorry, but you're not...your mother...my Cana is gone."

"No! No! Mommy...my mommy not gone-" I cried as he hugged me. That itself...made me cry, because...I guess...something in me told me that he was right.

I never saw her again, Mom had abandoned me. The man she left me with, was my Dad. He told me...a four year old, why she left me. Mermaids must tails, I had flippers...feet...that was impure to mermaids. My Dad had to keep telling me that for My Mom to go out of her way and bring me to him, showed that she loved me which Ice Mermaids weren't accustomed to. He never told me why...why that was a big thing.

End of Flashback

I wiped away more of my tears, it was so painful to swallow.

"You don't have to-" Buttercup looked so sad.

"No...it wasn't so bad. I mean Boomer told me that Mermaids who were born defective were killed or left to die. So I was lucky, I guess. I still don't understand why she couldn't keep me."

"Bubbles-"

"Plus, after my Daddy found out that I really was his child, he was nervous but happy I think...No I'm sure he was. He left being a Healing Mage of the temple of Shivar (because he had to raise me), we even moved closer to Shivar City, so I could be safer from the monsters. He raised me for four years, ya know...but then...then...He seemed to be distracted and came home late...Our city and another City were riled up. I didn't know it at the time, but there was going to be a battle. Articana is very loyal to Boomer, well even though they don't know what he really looks like.

Flashback

I was going to be nine years old, Daddy was teaching me healing spells and potions. He came in as their was stomping and yelling outside. One of my Daddy's friends came in with him.

"We'll need you, the temple may need you too. Malthus City has been taken over and announcing their support to Vulcan himself." His friend said.

"You know who Malthus is right. The Zodiac Crystal Being of Ice...a Zodiac. Heaven forbid if they summon him."

"Well yes, but Shivar is the Empress of Ice, and they need a vessel that could summon him, while we have plenty of Sages. We have to support our Future King."

"Hello Daddy," I greeted him, skipping, I bowed to him and his friend, then went back to hug him.

"Hello there my Bubbles," He patted me on the head, and he looked at his friend, "Well talk about this later."

The friend looked down at me, but then he nodded at my Daddy and walked out. My Daddy watched as he left.

There was a knock from the back door, he pushed me back, "Bubbles, I'll be right back." He walked out through the back door, I looked through the window and saw he talking to someone in a cloak. I saw him giving the cloak figure a vial. I remembered him coming back inside, he looked so troubled...

One day...well...one morning, there was a large explosion that woke me up. It was ringing through my ears. I could hear knocking, screaming, and the house shook, and there was another explosion.

"DADDY! DADDY!" I cried out, I shuffled under the bed. My dolls, my books, my vials and herbs all fell to the floor. I hid further back as flames erupted down the hall.

My next door neighbor and my first crush came rushing into my room, Cody.

"Aurora! AURORA!" He called out my name. I was so happy when I saw him, holding his hand out and pulling me out from under the bed, "Aurora, c'mon!"

"WAIT! DADDY!" I yelled.

"He's not here!" Cody yelled as he pulled me down the hallway, through the flames. I...I barely knew what happened, holding Cody's hand as we escaped through the crowd...his family took me along...

"BUT MY DADDY!" I just yelled as Cody's dad put me on the sled wagon.

"He's at the temple, c'mon child!" His mother yelled. I don't remember much, because all I could do was close my eyes and pray...pray that Daddy would be safe. When I opened my eyes again, we were on top of a hill.

I gasped as the city was on fire...but there was a battle raging not to far from the city, two of these big figures fighting too.

"I don't get it, how did they summon Malthus?"

"WHAT'S GOING ON EH!"

People were dumping snow and water on the flames, as the fire died down and the unthinkable happened, Malthus won (I still didn't know what was going on, but the soliders of Shivar were still able to push Vulcan's soldiers back and beat them but the price was still too big. I saw as the chains came out of Malthus' body, grabbing a hold of Shivar and pulling her to his body. Shivar was chained and bounded. She screamed...it sounded so unnatural...and this white energy flew out of her body. Malthus disappeared and Without Shivar, our city crumpled.)

I went back into the city, with Cody and his family. He was able to keep me calm and hopeful...that Daddy was still alive. As I looked through the debris, waiting for Daddy...

I got real dizzy all of a sudden, my body felt so strange. My arm glowed white...I was in so much pain, it was like something was cutting into my skin...and it was burning at the same time...it was too much, my heart was racing, my teeth were clenched together and then I just blacked out.

I woke up to the worst kind of nightmare, someone spalshed water on me.

I shot up, as the man (Daddy's friend) was holding a bucket, "I KNEW IT! I KNEW IT! SHE'S A MERMAID! I SAW HER TRANSFORM WHEN SHE FAINTED! I KNEW THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG!"

"SHE'S NOT A MERMAID! SHE HAS TWO...SHE HAS FLIPPERS!"

I was lying on the street, surrounded. I could barely breathe, as I looked around, my webbed hands, my scales, and my flippers. My secret was out... I looked at Cody, he looked like he was about to step in but his mother glared at me and pulled him away.

"SHE'S A FREAK OF NATURE!"

"A MONSTER EH!"

"LOOK AT HER ARM!" Someone else yelled.

I looked at my arm, there was a mark.

"THE MARK OF A TRAITOR!"

"THE MARK OF SHIVAR'S TRAITOR!"

"SHE IS THE REASON THAT SHIVAR IS GONE! AND OUR HOMES TOO!"

"No...no...please...I didn't." I could barely hold back the tears, "Why are you saying all those things."

"OUR CITY IS DESTROYED! IT'S ALL HER FAULT! SHE BETRAYED SHIVAR!"

"I didn't do anything." I sniffed, I was hit with a snow ball...and then rocks...

"YOU BITCH!"

"TRAITOROUS COW!"

I put my head to the ground and covered my head.

"LOOK AT WHAT YOU'VE DONE!"

"DDDDDDDAAAAAADDDDDDDDDDYYYYYYYYYY!" I screamed and cried as a ring of ice surrounded me.

"AURORA!" I lifted my head up as I saw my Daddy coming towards me.

"Daddy...Daddy." My flippers were disappearing and my skin was turning back to normal. I hugged Daddy, Daddy looked different, he had white streaks in his hair now and he looked paler.

"It's ok...I'm here."

"HE HAS THE MARK TOO!" One of them yelled, I could see it, Daddy had a mark on his left shoulder too.

"GET OUT-"

Daddy's friend snarled, " So this is why? This is why you betrayed us! For that!"

"Daddy?" I looked up at him.

My Daddy was silent.

"I should have know, you became a parent over night, no woman...nothing. A child just appeared out of no where...no way...SHE MADE YOU BETRAY US...YOUR HOME...SHIVAR!"

"No!" My Daddy yelled.

"YES...THAT'S RIGHT!"

"RIGHT! RIGHT! MERMAIDS CAN HYPNOTIZE MEN RIGHT! SHE HYPNOTIZED HIM EH!"

"She did nothing! It was all me!" He yelled.

"LET THE MAN GO WITH THE TRAITOROUS BITCH! THEY'RE BOTH TRAITORS!"

Daddy held me close, as we left the ruin city, but as we left out of their sights, Daddy kneeled over me and held me in his arms, he felt so cold.

"I'm sorry...I'm so so sorry, "He cried, "I didn't mean it! I didn't mean for it to happen? Not to you...not to my little girl." He kissed me on the forehead, even his lips were cold.

"Daddy?"

"You're not in pain...are you?"

I was confused, why did he ask me that, but all I did was shake my head.

"Good...good, maybe it's because you're an Ice Mermaid...maybe that'll protect you."

I wouldn't know what he meant until it was too late.

End of Flashback

Buttercup's POV

"I never knew why my Daddy betrayed our city. The Mark proved that he had something to do with it...Malthus Shivar," Bubbles sniffed, "Well, I think that's it. I won't have any tears left if I keep talking. I should take a bath. Thanks for the food." Bubbles cheered up a little.

Sam and I came out of the room, I was holding the sleeping Fang in my arms.

"BB?"

"Yes." I swallowed hard, fighting back the sadness and smiled.

"She does go through it too."

"Too?"

"People hate me...but I did nothing. Is that puncherment...punish...I am punish 'cause of others? "

I thought about that time, when we first met on the Air Ship, how upset she was when I saw her ears. In the Kingdom of Cynder, how one look at Sam's ears...and there was this hatred...

"I'm hated-"

It was too much...I covered my mouth as a tear came down from my eye. I kneeled down and hugged her.

Now I think I know what Butch meant, we should have left. If we were in another city or village, no one would know about Bubbles'...or Sam's ears.

"If people hate you, that's their problem 'cause they're gonna have ta deal with me. Do you hear me?"

That goes for Bubbles too.
