Chapter 21 Long Live The Wolf Maiden

Finally the choking hands around my neck turned to glass and I was able to breathe again. Now appearing at my right and left I saw Brick and Boomer heavily panting.

"I don't know what the hell you just did but," Brick said as he tried to breathe, "thanks." Boomer nodded in agreement.

"How'd you guys...what were you doing inside Butches body?!"

"Bell much?" Boomer shrugged, "After you left, we we're going to go looking for you but Bell didn't like that."

"Yeah, so she did some freaky crap and put us all into his body except for Brute and Brat."

"Did they know?"

"Nope."

"Where's Bunny and the maids?"

"Probably locked up somewhere."

So, that wasn't Butch? But how did I do that? I only put my hands on his shoulders...Revival?

Butch pulled me up to my feet and we stared into each other eyes. He took my hands and held them tightly. I did the same to his. He smiled and said, "You said you loved me."

Blushing I said, "Oh, you heard me?"

"I heard everything."

"...You were really going to come looking for me? Even after what I said and then I thought you were going to marry Bell-"

"I would never marry her. She isn't my maiden and why wouldn't I come look for you? Did you really think I was just going to let you go?" he placed his hands around my waist. I smiled and said, "No."

"Well, I hate to be the one to break up such a touching moment but." Bell said as she crossed her arms. Butch groaned looking around the destroyed wolf home and said, "Not like you haven't done enough already."

"Oh, you don't like my decorations? Pity."

"To think I thought you were loyal to Wolf Kingdom and the monsters. Guess I was wrong? You're just like your father."

"I don't get you, Butch. When my father used to run the monster world they never praise him because they feared him. That only proved that vampires were the only ones capable of leading. Not you filthy dogs."

"FILTHY DOGS?!" Brat shouted from below. We all looked down and saw Bunny and the other maids beside her. Angry. Bell only smirked and repeated loudly, "FILTHY DOGS."

"And to think I was kissing you ass," Brat snapped, "And you wondered why I was such a bitch to you." Bell did nothing but laugh and rolled her eyes. I backed away from Butch and took a step forward towards Bell, "You said you wanted to have your birthday at the Fair?"

"Ah, see I wanted to rule the human population as well."

"Bell, you call us filthy but your just greedy and heartless. You've taken so much away from me and everyone else. Framed Berserk as the dangerous one, turned my friends against me, you've sent a wolf to kill me, tried to stall my training, you...took my sister, Bubbles away. Right in front of me and I had no choice but to watch," I held back the tears and went on, "There is a good reason your father was killed, a leader is not one to frighten its people or monsters. A leader is someone you can follow and who stands by you and doesn't treat you unfairly or different. That is exactly why your race is looked down on. And you can keep thinking that by killing you'll gain power but what good is a Queen if she doesn't have any respect and no one to respect her?"

The other monsters were silent. Bell couldn't look at me bluntly anymore. Her eyes moved elsewhere. She bailed her fist and I watched as tears came rolling down her face. Now looking at me as she grabbed the orbs that hung around her neck she snapped, "You don't know anything about me or my father! He was a GREAT leader despite what these selfish monsters or you think! Just like you I've lost someone important to me as well. Right in front of me and I was just a ten year old girl! You think anyone cared? No! At age 10 I had the weight of the world on my shoulder because I had to lead an entire vampire army BY MYSELF! Yeah, I killed those maidens and I'll continue killing until I am the ruler of this kingdom!"

I nodded, "Alright. Though I'm not going to hand over the Maiden title- excuse me, my Maiden title. So, lets fight till there one still standing." I then felt Butch pull me back and face him. He had a serious look on his face and said, "Buttercup, I'm not going to let you do this! Not by yourself."

"Yeah, Bc," Boomer said, "Let us help you. It's not just your fight, you know?"

"Yeah, I want to kick her ass too!" Brat yelled and the other monster cheered. I shook my head 'no' and said to Butch, "I have to do this alone. The fair way, one-on-one." He looked at me for a moment then said, "Alright."

"Ahem?" Bell coughed impatiently, I broke away from Butch and faced her coldly, "Lets head back to the forest." Bell nodded and jumped down from the floor. The other monsters growl and they move out of her way. As I was getting ready to follow her Butch said, "Remove the orbs from around her neck, she's worthless without them." I nodded 'yes' and jumped down. The monster cheered, Brute came up to me and said, "I apologize for harming you Lady Buttercup."

"Its alright, Brute. It was a big misunderstanding."

"Now go kill her!" Brat patted me on the back, I smiled a bit making my way through the cheering monsters. When I looked over to see the place where Berserk's body had been, she was no longer there.

Bell and I soon reached the empty forest. Her back was turned away from me, "Well, I've been waiting for this, to destroy you. You may have revival but all I have to do is rip it out of your body. Now, the time has come."

"Doesn't matter what time you were waiting for. I'm going to defeat you! The truth is you can't fight. Not without those orbs."

Now facing me with a smirk she said, "What makes someone who doesn't even understand herself with the position she's in?"

"I may still have a lot questioning about myself but I know one thing for sure," I was now face to face with her. I wanted her to hear me loud and personal, "I am The Wolf Maiden."

Just then a sharp pain hit inside my chest as I drop to the ground. Headaches started going off in my head and I was on my hands and knees. I floated up into the air. My clothes ripped off my body.

"Um...you mind putting that back on? I don't want to fight you this way."

Levees and wind swirled around me and the pain inside me increased. Bending my head back instead of screaming I howled. My skin turned into green fur and my arms and legs were now paws. The bright moonlight glistened in my eyes, shrinking them a bit. When I landed back on the ground I was still on all fours and I had a tail? Then I realized that I had turned into a wolf.

"How the..your a wolf?" Bell gasped, "But that's impossible! You can't be! Not, yet!"

Even though I didn't know how my wolf body worked I charged towards Bell. My target was to rip that orb necklace off. Without it, she's really nothing. Bell swiftly moved out of my way which lead to me to crash into a tree. She giggled touching her orb necklace, "Oh? You want this? Do a trick and I'll think about it."

Growling deeply I paused. Obviously she's just going to keep moving around and I'll just continue crashing into trees. I had to hurry before she planned to use the orbs again. I backed into the forest leaving Bell standing there with a question mark face. I smiled, now with a plan in my head. I sprinted deeper into the forest, knowing she would follow me. Damn, I could hear her about to using one of the orbs. I quickly turned around crashing into her. I pinned her down and just when I was about to snatch the orbs Bells fangs showed. I didn't want her to bite me but before I could make a move her cold hands struck my body off deeper into the forest.

Nothing was working out as I planned and I still wasn't sure how to use my wolf body. Bell appeared in front of me. She grabbed me by my neck and choked me against the tree, "This was easier than I thought. You really are worthless and can't even lay a paw on me. Have fun in hell and tell Berserk I said, "Long live the Vampire Queen"." Bell reached for her orbs. No! I stunk my teeth into her glass skin. Fast, she released me and I landed on the ground. Her arm was now cracked and her fingers had fell off. She gasped in horror, I took this as a chance to attack her, my nails sharpen as I headed straight for her necklace. She was too into her broken hand to notice me.

"Its best to kill her first, orbs later." I dug my nails into her side. She hit the ground as her arm broke off. She screamed in pain but I only smiled and said, "This was easier than I thought. Maybe you'll able to tell Berserk that yourself!" She tried to move but she was in to much pain. I didn't feel sorry for her so I continued attacking her though I had to watch out her fangs that she using to defend the rest of what was left of her. The glass laid in the dirt but there was still her legs, head and some parts of her body still attached. Again she reached for her orbs and turned herself in her wolf self. Instead of being in pain she stood proudly with an evil smirk. Not hurt, recovered. Huh?

"How did you do that? You should be hurt!"

"What? You don't recognize your own mother?" My heart dropped. My mother? I couldn't tell if Bell was just trying to mess with me or if she was telling the truth. I backed away a little and said, "Yeah, right."

"Its the truth. After you were born, I kidnapped you and shipped you off away from the Wolf Kingdom. I thought with Berserk and you gone I could easily rule but your mother, Byanne or whatever her name was saw what I did and knew what I was doing. We fought and before she could finish me I opened up an orb and she flew inside."

"...You killed her?"

"No, not kill. But you will."

"Huh?"

"If you kill me, you kill her as well." Bell said with a laugh, "So, make your pick. Wisely." I was taking back. My mother, who I never met was inside Bell. She's being used and if I kill Bell, I'll really just be killing her. Its been my life long dream to meet my her and now this? Tears began to start up in my eyes as I hung my head down low.

"Aww, how sad." Bell laughed again. I wanted to attack her but I didn't want to hurt my mom. It was over and I had fail my name as The Wolf Maiden and the rest of the Monsters. I had failed myself. Soon a cool breeze circled around me and everything went blank. Bubbles now stood in front of me. She smiled placing her hands on my head and said, "Hello, Buttercup."

"..Bubbles?" I gasped, she nodded then said, "Listen closely because this will be the last time you'll see me. Your mother was a strong woman who would put her life on the line for the right of her people. Even if it meant losing someone or something important to her. Right now, your mother want you to do the right thing. You may not like it but she knows that it best for her to pass on then to let the kingdom be brought down. Don't try to recover her, it will not work. Just know, that she'll be proud of you every step of the way and so will I."

I nodded in agreement with tears running down my face. It had to be done. Bubbles hugged me one last time and then I found myself back in the forest. Bell was still laughing.

"Lets see if you think this is funny, bitch!" I charged towards her, claw slapping her face into a the ground. Blood dripped but I didn't give her time to show any expression. Biting into her left leg and spinning her around in circles I let her go. She flew off into the end of the forest. I sped after her not wanting to let her out of my sight. Bell was hanging off the edge of the ground. If she was to let go she would land in the sharp rocks below. Crouching down, I put hands around her neck and she said, "You're killing your mother, remember that!"

"And remember this, long live The Wolf Maiden." I snapped her neck. Her paws let go of the edge and she fell into the sharp rocks below. The orbs had fallen off and exploded around the rocks. Spirits of the maiden rose up and they circled me. Now back to themselves.

I transformed back into myself. Coupe of wounds around my face and lower parts of my body but I stood tall and revived myself before the other Maidens. They smiled, bowing and said, "We can't thank you enough!"

I led them back to the wolf house were the other Monster were waiting. Shocked looks were on their faces once they saw me with the Maidens behind me. I paused in front of them and said, "Ding-Dong the Bitch is dead." The monster screamed in happiness, "All hail Lady Buttercup!" As the Maiden rekindled with their race, Gir began to sing "We are the Champions".

Bunny came up too me, "Someone wants to see you, alone." She added a wink and pushed me towards the garden. The only thing left standing. Butch was standing there looking up at the moon. I joined him, "I'm back."
"Welcome back." He said while still looking at the moon. No emotion. I cross my arms and frowned, "Well this conversation is just soaked in concerned, isn't it? Not."

He then looked at me and smiled, "I knew you would do great. Beside, weren't you the one to tell me not to underestimate you?"

"Yeah, that was me." I laughed a little, then blushed, "I guess I was just excepting something from you once I returned.."

"Well the bedroom is gone but the beds still-OW!" I punched him in his arms. He rubbed it and looked at me, "I was kidding! Sort of." I rolled my eyes and said, "Whatever." Butch placed his hands around my waist and I put my hands on his shoulders. Our eyes looked into one another's and moonlight hit our faces as our lips met. No Gir to ruin the moment since he was busy entertaining the other monsters. It felt so nice just to be in his arms and my body felt weak. After ten blissful minutes we pulled apart.

"I can't wait to start our future together, Buttercup."

"Don't get to ahead of yourself. We barely have a home, remember?"

"I know, until we can get things fixed around here I've decided that we should all just move into your town. For a while."

"Where will I stay?"

"With me of course." He said it like I've should have known.

"Just the two of us? Alone?"

"Sadly, no. The other wolves have to stay with us as well. Which sucks, we could have had so much fun together-OW! I DIDN'T MEAN ANYTHING BY THAT!"

"Yeah, right." I crossed my arms and glared up at the moon, "You think this is the end of Bell? Like, would she come back?"

"Well, you killed her but.." Butch trailed off, I looked over at him, Waiting for him to finish, he then said, "Your sister and who knows who else of Bells army is still alive. They will strike again, later though. But you'll have to make some difficult choices as the Queen. And sometimes I will not agree with you."

I knew exactly what he meant. Kill Bubbles. I know it's not her but, she's still my sister and I want to find some way to help her. Even if she is a vampire.

I'm not giving up on you Bubbles.

NOTE: Well :( guys...this is the end of the road. Its been a fun journey and I've enjoyed writing for you all! I'm going to miss this story but...BE ON THE LOOK OUT FOR A sequel! Later...like wayyy later because I'm going to be working on other things. Anyway, bye! :) REVIEW!
