Chapter 20: Back Home, a Lot To Say, a Lot To Do
Nick came through the portal and landed face first flat on the ground. Then Dan and Luna landed softly next to him. "You know all you had to do was walk and you would have stayed up right." Nick grunted and Dan laughed. Then Dan looked around to see a welcoming party that had turned silent at their arrival. Dan knew he was in trouble now that the co-rulers and the mane 6 had seen Nick come in in front of them. 'No excuses for this one. But there is something more important to deal with.' Dan stepped forward and smiled as Luna took off the necklace. "Discord we need to seal off this portal now. There are humans that can teleport which means they can probably find their way here. and they aren't as nice as I am. We need to seal it off forever, and do it soon."
Discord looked at Dan with worry and annoyance. "And what about him? Is he one of those humans that are not as nice as you?" Dan gave a nervous smile now. Nick got up and brushed himself off. "Dan next time warn me about that first step, it's a doosy. Oh hello every one. Name's Nick." Dan was glad Nick was bringing on his good behavior. "Everypony this is my brother Nick. Before you ask, we are not blood related and ya he hated our old world to and had nothing keeping him there. I couldn't just leave him there since I had the chance to bring him with. And no I didn't kidnap him, I asked him and he chose to come with. I will personally take responsibility for him and his actions. I will be making him a necklace like mine so he will be a pony soon enough."
Dan sighed. "Until then I will keep him with me and under my protection so he won't get into trouble. I just couldn't leave that world knowing I left my bro alone and never gave him the chance Discord gave me." Dan had been looking down out of fear that he would be getting in deep shit and Nick might be sent back. Then he looked up to see the others smiling at him. Luna stepped forward and put her wing around Dan and stood next to Nick. "He is a kind soul and is quite fun to talk to. He may have a small temper, but so doesn't Dan. And I trust him being here. Tia you know I wouldn't allow it if he wasn't safe to have around." Celestia looked at her sister then to Nick who was standing nervously next to Luna. Then Nick spoke up.
"Don't worry Celestia I don't want to mess things up, I just want to live life and be with my bro. besides I know the show as well and kinda know how things go so I can work and help earn my keep. But I do ask one favor." Dan got worried and Luna raised and eye brow. Discord had to ask. "And what is that?" Nick gave a smile. "Can you please stop talking about me like I am a pet instead of the bro to the co king?" the group started to laugh lightly and Dan just shook his head while he put on the necklace again. Celestia finally spoke up after looking at Nick's soul and hearing him talk. "You can stay but I will keep Dan to his word on working to get you into a pony form." Nick smiled. "Fine by me. As long as I can still be me and make friends with the mane 6 so I am not alone while I am stuck in the castle. If that is ok with you all." The mane 6 all nodded.
Dan looked over them all happily until he came across Twilight's face. She was blushing. 'Interesting. Does she really think Nick looks good?' Dan's thoughts came to a stop as he saw the portal fluxuate out of the corner of his eye. "Shit! Something is trying to come through the portal! Discord we must seal it now before all hell breaks loose!" Dan ran over to the portal and focused his magic on it. Discord followed suit with Luna and Celestia helping. Nick turned and walked over to Twilight. "Hi Twi how are you?" Twilight was confused at how Nick could be calm at a time like this. "aren't you nervous that something could get through that portal and hurt us?"
Nick sat down next to her and looked back to the portal. "Ya kinda, but I know Dan will stop it and keep us safe. And if the other co rulers are just as smart and strong then we have nothing to fear. Besides I know how to fight off any humans that come through. As long as they don't have to many weapons I will be able to fight them easily. That and Dan can easily set up a shield to keep us safe. And why are you scared? You have defeated so many things and are the strongest pony I know of minus the rulers of course. But that is only because they had a lot more time to train." Twilight raised an eyebrow at him. She was trying not to blush at the compliment and was wondering why Nick would say something like that to her.
It only took a few minutes to get the portal under control and sealed off for good. "Nothing is coming or going through that any time soon. Ok let's get you to the castle before somepony sees you and freaks out. Shall I teleport you girls with us as well? I have gifts for you all." Dan was smiling as he saw their faces light up. Then he teleported the group to the castle. When the got there nick was glad he was still sitting. He felt dizzy and disoriented form the random change of scenery and the first time feeling magic. Dan saw this and helped him get over it. "Oops sorry about that. I forgot what it was like to teleport for the first time. You ok there bro?" Nick nodded and got up shakily.
Nick almost fell over once but Twilight held him up with her wing. "Thanks for that Twi. I needed that." Twilight blushed at his kinds words and nodded in response. Dan noticed the blush and smiled. He would have to talk to Nick about that later. But as for now, Presents! Dan smiled and brought over a bag filled with the new toys for his friends. "Ok so besides bringing my bro back with me I got things for each of you. I just hope you like them." Dan opened the bag and used his magic to bring out the items and pass them to the ones they were intended for.
"First for Twilight, a human history book so you can know more about us and our kind. I know your love of learning. But do me a favor and only let this small group read it. it is probably better not to let the young ones read it either." Twilight was more than happy to get a new book and learn new things.
"Next is miss Rarity, for you a fashion book with art in the back to give you ideas for new lines based on another world. Hope this is at least fun to look through and show you what our cloths of high society look like." Rarity was just as happy as Twilight with the new reading material.
"And for her mate a collection of all the dragon mythology from my world. I thought you might find it amusing to see what we had right and wrong. And maybe show you why I have always been interested in dragons. Plus it has some cool pics and ideas for tattoos." Spike said it was a great idea and couldn't wait to see them.
"For my animal loving friend FlutterShy a book that has pictures and facts about every animal in my world. I would have brought you a new pet like a tiger or something but I didn't want to mess with the echo system, or take an almost extinct species from there for fear it would hurt their population." Flutters understood what Dan meant and why he had got her a book instead of the live thing. She was grateful with just the pictures and facts.
"Ok so for the fastest thing in this world I give the fastest thing in my world. This is only a small model of the things called jet planes, but it should be able to keep up with you to a point. They are used for speed shows and have weapons to make them able to attack our enemies. I can active the weapons if you want me to. But for now it is just for you to have fun flying with." Rainbow did her "This is totally awesome!" and proceeded to race the model in circles around the room.
"Ok for the loyal cowgirl I have a nice hand crafted and designed belt and lasso. The belt will hold the lasso to your side. I hope you like the design I had them make it a mountain and range design so it would match your liking, or so I hope it will. And the lasso is made out of a wear resistant material that is stronger and will last longer than most rope here." AJ was amazed by the details in the beautiful landscape design and the quality of the rope. "Thank ya kindly, this will be put to good use, I can promise you that."
"Ok this is going to be a fun one. For the random party pony I give a random thing from my world. It is called a snuggy! It is part blanket and part jacket! It will be harder for a pony to wear it than a human but I am sure if you can break the forth wall this will be easy for you." Pinkie was jumping up and down looking over the new item and then started to try it on in as many ways as possible, making her friends laugh at her. She thanked Dan with a smile as she put it on in a way that it looked like a flowing dress, or as she said "I have a cape!"
"Ok now for the sister in law I'm lucky to have I give you a bag of tricks. This bag is filled with fake magic tricks and simple pranks so you can have fun letting your prankster out. And make sure to prank Discord good for me." Celestia looked excited at the thought of new pranks from another world and laughed at the thought of pranking Discord with them. She eagerly agreed and started to rummage through the bag of goodies.
"And last but not least Discord. My friend you were a tough one, but I think this reading material will keep you entertained. I am sure I told you all that in that world you are nothing but a show. So here is the scripts for all the episodes to the show MLP FIM. So you can cause chaos in the future and see the fun that has been in the past. Just don't go changing the future on us ok?" Discord laughed and took the booklets and started reading with gusto. "No promises there bud." Dan just laughed at him.
The others thought Dan was done but he had two more gifts to give. "Now before you go I have two more gifts for those who thought they got nothing. To Nick I give this necklace that I will be working on so he can be a pony. And I will show you to the room you will be staying in here soon enough. And to my Lovely Luna I give this scrap book. It has pictures from our favorite moments from our honeymoon. " Luna was shocked. "When did you have time to take any? And where did you hide the camera?" Dan just laughed. "I have my ways dear. Go ahead and look." Luna opened the book and the others crowded around her to get a look.
The book had the moment that they arrived, Dan attacking the guy that tried to hit her, the canyon, the reef, the moon on the water, all the sites they saw, and on the last page was something that made Luna chock up at its sight. On the last page was a large picture of the Northern light in the night sky. But at the bottom it had a caption. The caption said "It was the prettiest sight in this world until you arrived here my love. You and your night will beat even this sight in my mind." Luna was starting to tear up as she finished reading it and looked at a smiling Dan. 'He never stops surprising me. Or making me feel happy and wanted.' Luna lowered the book and ran to hug and kiss Dan. "I love you." Dan smiled "I love you to my dear."
