I'm giving a shout out to Draco55 who has been a regular reviewer since I started writing and has recently started his own story – Kalos: League of Fashionable Challenges. I think it has the potential to be a great story and I hope you guys will check it out.

By the way I'm really sorry for the long wait but I did a few one-shots which took up some of my spare time and these battle chapters sometimes take a long time to write as I'm trying to make every battle better than the last. I hope I managed to achieve that goal.
This is the longest chapter so far. All I can say is the word count is OVER 9000!
Anyway enough talking let's get on with the story. Here's chapter 21 I hope you enjoy.

Ash was sat in the locker room he would have been sat in eleven years ago had Team Rocket not delayed him. He still remembered Team Rocket's interference that caused him to almost miss his match against Richie. He could still see the determination in Pidgeotto's eyes as she pulled Team Rocket's balloon to the stadium. He heard his name be called and he walked out of the locker room and into the main stadium. He looked around and he saw himself stood battling Richie eleven years ago. He watched as Squirtle fell to a Sleep Powder only to be avenged by the rat. A small smirk came to his face as he watched Zippo dominate Pikachu and then he saw Charizard appear. He watched as he after easily dealt with Zippo and then saw the crushed look on his face as Charizard lied down completely disobeying him.
In the stands Anabel, Manaphy, Ariana, Alex, Chris and Delia were looking worriedly at Ash. Apart form Delia none of them had ever seen Ash act like this before and were all wondering what was wrong with him.
"What's going on? Why is Ash just standing there?" Ariana asked.
"He's reliving what happened here eleven years ago." Delia replied.
They all looked at Delia with a bemused look on their faces. Ash had never really spoken about his battles in the Indigo League. The only thing they knew was that he was eliminated by Richie in the final sixteen.
"Ash never likes talking about what happened in that battle. It started off badly as Ash had been delayed by Team Rocket so he was forced to use Pidgeot who was a Pidgeotto at the time to get him to the stadium. The battle started with Ash's Squirtle versus Richie's Butterfree which was a loss for Squirtle when he was hit by a Sleep Powder. Pikachu then came in and took out Butterfree but was defeated by Richie's Charmander. Ash only had one Pokémon left to battle Richie's two so had to choose between the only two Pokémon he had conscious. The first was Bulbasaur who was obviously not a good choice."
"Who was the other one?" Alex asked.
"Charizard was the other one. He came out and forced Richie to forfeit Charmander. Then his Pikachu jumped on to the battlefield. That's when everything got so much worse. You see at that time Charizard wouldn't listen to Ash and deciding that a puny little Pikachu wasn't worth his time Charizard lied down and fell asleep. The referee had no choice but to say that Charizard was unable to battle so Ash lost. He put on a brave face around everyone as much as he could but even then he showed signs of how crushed he was. As soon as he got home once the Indigo League was ended he broke down. He felt humiliated at what happened in that match. At that point Ash was actually considering giving up on his dream of being a Pokémon Master so that his Pokémon could in his words get a worthwhile trainer. Funnily enough it was Pikachu that convinced him to keep going."
The other's were all shocked at what had happened. They could only imagine the embarrassment Ash must of felt as people around the world watched his Pokémon disobey him. They all looked at the battlefield and saw that Richie was stood in his trainer box waiting for Ash. He was studying his best friend and saw him looking around the battlefield obviously remembering what had happened in their last match in this very stadium.
"Ash!" Richie called out.
Ash looked up at Richie and could see a concerned look on his friends face.
"Don't think about what happened eleven years ago. Focus on today or else you'll lose."
Ash shook his head banishing the memories of the most embarrassing defeat in his entire training career. Richie smiled as he saw the confident look back on Ash's face.
"Thanks Richie."
Ash stepped into his trainer box and looked at the referee. The ref looked from Ash to Richie and seeing that they both ready to battle he stepped forward.
"This battle is between Ash Ketchum and Richie Hiroshi. It is a full six vs six battle. When one trainer loses three Pokémon there will be a short intermission while the battlefield is changed. Ash Ketchum shall choose his Pokémon first." the referee announced.
Ash looked at the rocky battlefield and decided to try and use one of his more aerial threats to his advantage.
"Butterfree may the Aura guide you."
Butterfree appeared on the battlefield and looked ready to battle. Richie hadn't honestly been expecting Butterfree to lead but if Ash wanted an aerial battle then he'd get one.
"Rose to the battlefield."
Richie's Swellow Rose appeared on the battlefield and exchanged an excited smirk with Butterfree.
"Quick Ace."
Rose shot off at an incredible pace and slammed into Butterfree. The bug type was taken aback by the speed of the attack. He turned around just in time to get hit again. Butterfree kept looking around trying to locate Rose but every time he turned he got hit by another attack. Ash watched Butterfree take several more hits and wondered what he could do. He turned his attention to Rose and saw that she was using almost the exact same attack pattern every time. This gave Ash an idea.
"Butterfree stay still." Butterfree looked back at Ash wondering if he was actually being serious. "Just trust me."
Butterfree did his best impression of a shrug and looked dead ahead. He winced as he felt Swellow hit him. He didn't know what Ash was planning but he hoped that he'd do something soon.
"Use Psychic in front of you... now!"
A blue glow surrounded Butterfree and similar glow surrounded something in front of him. Butterfree and everyone in the stadium was surprised to see that he had caught Rose in his Psychic. Butterfree looked at Ash and saw that he had a smirk on his face.
'Alright you smug git what do you want me to do now?'
"Throw Rose to the ground and use Signal Beam."
Butterfree used all his psychic power to throw Rose to the ground. The flying type tried to move so she could stop herself from slamming into the ground but she couldn't move a muscle. Moments later Rose slammed into one the boulders shattering it and leaving her covered in rubble. Butterfree then formed a white orb in front of himself and fired a rainbow coloured beam at Rose. The beam hit Rose and exploded raising a cloud of dust. Several members of the crowd were wondering if that had finished Rose off but Ash knew better. With a screech Rose flew out of the dust and shared another smirk with Butterfree.
"Hidden Psychic Drain."
Butterfree formed six red ors around him that had a tinge of green. He was then surrounded by a blue glow and a similar glow outlined the orbs. The orbs then shot towards Rose at an incredible speed. She quickly dodged out of the way of them and felt a bit cocky that she had managed it. She looked at Butterfree and saw that he was smirking and looking right above her. She looked up and saw six orb headed straight down at her. Before she could even try to dodge the orbs slammed into her back and drove her into the ground. Several green tendrils then went from Rose to Butterfree and he felt a bit of his strength return. He watched as Rose once again shot back into the air.
"Rose use Boomburst."
"Electro Buzz."
Rose opened her beak and the inside glowed blue. She then fired a blast of powerful sound waves at Butterfree. Before the sound waves could get near him Butterfree glowed red and he started flapping his wings. His wings then started to vibrate and he shot several red sounds waves that crackled with electricity at Rose. The sound waves clashed and after a brief struggle the electricity passed through and hit Rose however the majority of her Boomburst pushed through Butterfree's Bug Buzz. Butterfree felt as if his head was about to explode as the intense sound waves rang in his ears.
"Heat Wave."
Rose quickly recovered from her shock and started to flap her wings creating an intense burning wind. The wind pushed hit Butterfree and he screeched in pain as the flames burned him. He tried to fight the wind but it was too strong and he was sent crashing into the arena wall. Rose cut the attack and watched as Butterfree pulled himself out of the wall and flew in front of her. She was amazed that he had managed to recover from that attack considering how much damage he had already sustained. Butterfree was staring defiantly at Rose not giving away the fact that he was exhausted. He knew that he didn't have much left and he knew that Ash was aware of that fact.
"Brave Impact."
"Giga Ace."
Rose tucked in her wings and shot at Butterfree who became surrounded in white streaks and flew to intercept Rose. The flying types clashed and a battle for dominance started. Neither Pokémon could gain an advantage even though Butterfree could feel himself getting weaker. He knew that he would lose but he would take Rose down with him. A small orange orb formed between his antenna. Rose was too busy fighting Butterfree to notice what the bug was doing, Ash and Richie on the hand did see and were both worried about what would happen if that attack was fired.
"Butterfree don't do it! It's too risky!" Ash yelled.
'Sorry Ash but I can't let you and the others down. I can't lose without at least taking her down with me. I have to do this.'
An orange beam suddenly shot from the orb and combined with all the other attacks caused a massive explosion that shrouded both Pokémon in a thick cloud of smoke.
"BUTTERFREE!"
"ROSE!"
Ash and Richie looked in horror at the cloud of smoke. Two figures than plummeted from the cloud and were now shooting towards the ground. Both trainers quickly ran on to the battlefield and were just in time to catch their Pokémon before they slammed into the ground. They cradled their Pokémon who were covered it cuts and bruises.
"Butterfree and Swellow are unable to battle. Trainers choose your next Pokémon."
Ash and Richie blanked out the referee and kept focussing on their Pokémon. Eventually Butterfree and Rose opened their eyes and looked at their trainers. Relieved smile broke out on Ash's and Richie's faces and they gently hugged their Pokémon. Rose and Butterfree gave them a weak smile and then passed out. Both Pokémon were quickly returned and their trainers took their places in the trainer boxes.
"Tyranitar may the Aura guide you."
"Drago to the battlefield."
Both Pokémon burst out of their Pokéballs and let out a deafening roar. Tyranitar smirked as he saw the Dragonite standing opposite him knowing that he'd finally get a proper battle.
"Extreme Steel Wing."
Drago's wings turned metallic and he in a flash of white he disappeared. Tyranitar looked around trying to spot the dragon when he felt something hard slam into his side. The attack annoyed Tyranitar more than it hurt him and he let out an enraged roar as he felt Drago slam into him again. He staggered back but was still standing getting repeatedly hit by Drago.
"Tyranitar chill out. Now find him with Dark Pulse and grab his tail with Superpower."
Tyranitar closed his eyes and took a calming breath. He then sent out a dark wave of energy. The dark energy hit Drago and he was surrounded in a dark aura. Tyranitar smirked and watched as Drago approached him. A blue aura then surrounded and when Drago's was close he grabbed him. Drago was shocked at what had happened, it had been a long time since anyone had managed to stop him so easily. Tyranitar smirked again and then threw Drago with all of his strength at the wall. Drago was moving way to fast to stop so he slammed through the wall landing in Richie's locker room destroying the majority of it. Drago then burst out of the room destroying what was left of it
"That's gonna cost a pretty penny." Ash said as he looked at the massive hole in the wall.
"Well at least we don't have to pay for it." Richie replied.
"Yeah I dread to think how much it's cost to fix the stadiums after my battles."
"Same here. Right let's get back to out battle. Drago Focus Blast."
"Send it back with Ice Punch."
A blue orb formed between Drago's hands and he fired it at Tyranitar. The Armour Pokémon watched the orb shooting his way and his fist became encased in ice. When the orb was close Tyranitar punched the orb freezing it and sending it back to Drago. Thinking quickly Drago formed another orb and shot it at the original. The orbs clashed and cancelled each other out.
"Thunder Punch."
"Block it and use Ice Punch."
Drago's fist crackled with electricity and he flew full speed at Tyranitar. He threw his fist forward but it was stopped by one of Tyranitar's hands. The Armour Pokémon winced as he felt the electricity shock him but focussed on his fist which was once again encased in ice. He threw his fist forward but it was blocked by Drago's spare hand. The two pseudo legendaries were deadlocked as neither of them could gain a advantage over the other. The ground around them cracked as they both put more power into their attacks but they were still evenly matched. Ash and Richie knew that this fight was going nowhere fast so they had to find a way to split the deadlock.
"Dragon Pulse!" they both yelled.
Drago and Tyranitar opened their mouths and formed a turquoise orb in them. A beam of draconic energy then shot from the orbs and the clash of attacks created a massive explosion. The force of the explosion sent both Pokémon crashing into the wall this time not doing much beyond leaving and indent where they had landed.
"Dark Edge."
"Heat Hurricane."
Two rings of stones that were pitch black started to spin around Tyranitar. He fired the stones at Drago who had started flapping his wings. The flapping created an intense fiery wind that shot at Tyranitar. Several of the stones were caught in the wind and were shot back at Tyranitar. However a few got through and Drago let out pained cries at the stones pierced his flesh. Despite the pain he kept flapping his wings and his perseverance was rewarded when one of the boulders on the battlefield was pulled out of the ground and flew at Tyranitar. The Armour Pokémon had been withstanding the wind however when the boulder crashed into him, he was knocked to the ground. Ash watched as Tyranitar got up clutching his chest and breathing heavily. He looked at where Tyranitar was holding and saw an enormous crack in his armoured body.
"Tyranitar a-are you okay?" Ash asked worriedly.
'I'm fine.' Tyranitar growled back.
Tyranitar then fell to one knee and had to use his free hand to keep himself balanced. The sight unnerved Ash, he had never seen Tyranitar look so... weak. He knew that he couldn't leave Tyranitar out there in the condition he was in. Tyranitar then looked at Ash and could see the concern on his trainer's face so he pushed himself to his feet and somehow managed to steady his breathing. Ash was impressed at how well Tyranitar was hiding his exhaustion.
"Tyranitar you are clearly not fine. You've had enough."
Ash took Tyranitar's Pokéball off his belt and pointed it at him. Tyranitar growled angrily and with a flick of his tail the Pokéball flew out of Ash's hand and shattered on the arena wall. The crowd gasped and everyone in the stadium looked at the useless remnants of the Pokéball Ash was in shock, he hadn't expected Tyranitar to act so angrily. He looked from the Pokéball to Tyranitar and saw the Armour Pokémon glaring at him.
'I refuse to forfeit.' Tyranitar growled. 'You can help me or you can just stand and watch there but either way I'm finishing this fight.'
"Ok Tyranitar I'm with you."
'Good.'
Tyranitar turned back to the battlefield and locked eyes with Drago.
"Dark Impact." Ash said reluctantly.
"Giga Rush."
Tyranitar was surrounded in a dark aura and despite feeling a spike of pain when he moved he charged at Drago. The dragon flew to meet Tyranitar and a blue aura surrounded him. The pseudo legendaries clashed and after a brief power struggle Tyranitar was overpowered. The Armour Pokémon was sent skidding back to Ash unconscious. Ash looked at Tyranitar and was immensely proud of him as he looked at Drago who was breathing heavily and had sweat pouring off him.
"Tyranitar is unable to battle. Choose you next Pokémon."
Ash took a spare Pokéball that he always carried just in case he needed one and tapped Tyranitar's head, sucking the Armour Pokémon into it. He walked back to the trainer box and replaced the Pokéball with another.
"Heliolisk may the Aura guide you."
The lizard like Pokémon appeared on the battlefield and watched as Drago was quickly recalled.
"Drago return. Cruise to the battlefield."
Richie's Tyranitar Cruise appeared on the battlefield and roared. A thick Sandstorm then engulfed the battlefield. Despite the intense Sandstorm Heliolisk smirked looking forward to a challenge however Ash was not going to let Heliolisk stay out. He would not be able to stand up to Cruise and he couldn't afford to lose another Pokémon without taking one of Richie's down too.
"Heliolisk return. Meganium may the Aura guide you"
Heliolisk let out an annoyed sigh as he was recalled. Meganium then appeared and fired an orb into the sky which intensified the sunlight and the Sandstorm dissipated. Cruise sent Meganium an disgruntled look and she gave him a smirk.
"Stone Edge."
"Razor Leaf."
Two rings of stones started to spin around Cruise. He fired the stones at Meganium who shot a barrage of leaves from the petals around her neck. The leaves hit the stones and sliced them clean in half. This took all the power out of the stones causing them to just fall to the ground. The leaves then hit Cruise but all they did was bounce off of Cruise's heavily armoured body not even leaving a scratch.
"Form an Energy Ball."
Richie knew what Ash was hoping to do and he couldn't let that happen.
"Hit that Energy Ball with Dark Focus Blast. Then follow up with Ice Punch."
Meganium formed a green orb of energy in front of her and Cruise quickly formed a black orb that glowed blue. Cruise fired the orb at Meganium and then he ran after the orb as his fist became encased in ice.
"Send Cruise's attack back with Iron Dragon Tail then use Double Team and swallow the Energy Ball."
As the orb shot towards Meganium her tail turned metallic and glowed blue. When the orb was close she swung her tail at the orb and it was sent flying back at Cruise. The Armour Pokémon was forced to quickly sidestep to avoid the orb, he looked back and watched as the orb barely missed Richie and flew through one of the holes in the wall. Suddenly several Meganium were stood around Cruise who looked around trying to identify the real one. But he was unable to tell them apart so he ran at one and threw his fist forward but he passed straight through one of the fake Meganium. All of the Meganium then swallowed their Energy Ball and a bright green glow now surrounded them. Richie looked at the copies and started to think about how he could get rid of them quickly. Suddenly an idea came to mind.
"Dig then use keep using Dark Pulse."
Cruise quickly dug underground and released a dark wave of energy that erased all of the copies of Meganium. Richie and Cruise were pretty satisfied that that had worked although they both wondered why Ash hadn't tried to counter it. Richie watched as Meganium was hit by another Dark Pulse but was surprised when he saw that both Ash and Meganium were smirking.
"Magical Beam."
Richie suddenly realised why Ash hadn't tried to stop Cruise from using Dig, he wanted him underground so that he couldn't escape or have much time to stop the attack. The petals around Meganium's neck glowed green and a green orb formed in her mouth. A series of leaves then surrounded the beam and she fired a green beam from the orb. The beam shot forward and then flew down the hole that Cruise had dug. After a few moments a rumbling could be heard and Cruise was shot out of the ground by the Solar Beam. When Cruise was high in the sky the Solar Beam finally exploded and a pained roar could be heard. The Armour Pokémon then started to plummet towards the ground, Richie smirked as he had an idea.
"Let's use this to our advantage Cruise, use Earthquake."
"Quick use Grassy Terrain."
Cruise started focussing power into his lower body so he could put as much force into the Earthquake as possible. Meganium watched Cruise's descent and quickly rammed several vines into the ground. The vines glowed green and grass started to cover the battlefield. She retracted her vines just in time for Cruise to slam into the battlefield, everyone had been preparing themselves for a massive stadium shaking Earthquake but were surprised when it was only a slight tremor. Richie and Cruise growled, they hadn't expected Grassy Terrain to reduce the power of Earthquake that much. Suddenly Cruise glowed green and fell to one knee as he felt some energy sapped from him. A similar green glow surrounded Meganium who sighed in content as she felt the small amount of damage done by Earthquake be healed.
"Wait Grassy Terrain is supposed to heal grounded Pokémon not damage them." Richie said.
"Usually it would but we trained hard and modified the move so it heals our team and damages yours."
"Clever bastard." Richie muttered.
Richie started to consider his options. Cruise had taken a lot significant amount of damage and as tough as he is there isn't much hope of him doing much to Meganium. Unless... Richie rolled a sleeve up revealing his Mega Ring. He considered using the Tyranitarite but he had been intending to use Charizardite, after a little bit of thought he decided to stick with the original plan and took Cruise's Pokéball off his belt.
"Cruise take a break. Zippo to the battlefield."
"Meganium return. Heliolisk may the Aura guide you."
Richie growled again. They were in the same position they'd been in a few minutes ago the only difference being that Cruise had taken some damage. He knew he had to knock out Heliolisk quick so that Zippo wouldn't take much damage.
"We've got a little surprise for you Ash. Zippo it's time to Mega Evolve."
Richie activated his Mega Ring and Zippo glowed white. When the light faded it revealed that Zippo had become more sleek and expansive in appearance, but he had retained his normal coloration, except for his now white pupils. He had three pointed horns, the middle of which is longer than the rest of his skull. His shorter snout now had larger fangs and a ridge on the nose. His neck was shorter and his hands were much smaller, but his torso and legs were longer. Small wings developed on his wrists, while the ones on his back became larger and now have ragged edges. The back of his tail had a large thorn at the base and three smaller ones near the tip, which now burnt with a longer flame. Zippo roared and the sunlight intensified, Heliolisk then hissed and fell to one knee as his Solar Power ability kicked in.
"Zippo burn the field with Flamethrower."
"Dig then Electric Terrain."
Zippo opened his mouth and shot a massive burst of flames at the battlefield. As he saw the flames headed his way Heliolisk quickly dug underground avoiding the flames that scorched the grass covered battlefield. Suddenly the battlefield started to crackle and sparks of electricity shot off the ground. Richie and Zippo waited for Heliolisk to reappear but after waiting a minute it was obvious that he wasn't going to reappear until Zippo forced him too.
"Let's get him out of the ground use Earthquake."
"Burst through the ground with Wild Charge."
Zippo focussed power into lower body and shot towards the ground, when he was close to the ground he flip and slammed his feet down on the battlefield. Zippo let out a low growl as he felt the ground shock him but a smirk came to his face as he heard Heliolisk let out a pain cry. Zippo then heard a rumbling behind him and quickly flew back into the air. The lizard then burst out of the ground and rammed into Zippo. The Kanto started roared in pain and anger as the electricity coursed through his veins.
"Flaming Focus Punch." Richie called out hoping to use Heliolisk's rather vulnerable position to their advantage.
"Parabolic Charge."
The frills around Heliolisk's neck spread out and electricity was charged in them. As he was about to shoot the electricity at Zippo a fist that was glowing white and engulfed in flames slammed into his face. The force of the punch sent him plummeting to the ground and he crashed into the battlefield. To Zippo's surprise several bolts of electricity shot from the frills around Heliolisk's neck and he was forced to move quickly to dodge the attack. However several bolts of electricity hit him and he cried out as he felt the electricity shocked him and stole some of his energy. Several yellow tendril then travelled from Zippo to Heliolisk and healed him slightly.
"Flaming Focus Blast."
"Thunder Blast."
Zippo formed a blue orb in his hands and then his right fist became engulfed in flames. He punched the orb and it shot towards Heliolisk who had formed a blue orb that crackled with electricity. The orbs clashed but neither seemed to be able to gain an advantage. Seeing that they were tied Heliolisk spread his frills out again and after charging some electricity into them he fired the electricity at his Thunder Blast. The additional power increased the size of the orb and it started to push Zippo's attack back. Zippo responded by opening his mouth and shooting a burst of flames at his orb which increased the size of his attack once again leaving them even. Eventually the amount of power caused the attacks to explode shrouding both Pokémon in smoke.
Once the smoke cleared it revealed Zippo flying high and Heliolisk on one knee as he felt the effects of his Solar Power ability caused him some more damage. Ash looked at Heliolisk and wasn't that surprised about what was happening. A combination of taking damage from Solar Power and being against a Mega Evolved Pokémon made his chance slim to say the least. All he could hope to do was do enough damage to make the next Pokémon be able to take Zippo down easily.
"Thundering Darkness."
"Dragon Wave."
A black aura which crackled with electricity surrounded Heliolisk. Heliolisk then slammed his fist into the ground and the aura that surrounded him transferred into the ground and shot straight at Zippo. The fire type took flight and started flapping his wings incredibly fast which created a fiery wind at Heliolisk. The wave of dark electricity then shot straight off the battlefield and clashed with the fiery wind. Zippo then opened his mouth and formed a turquoise orb. A turquoise beam shot form the orb moments later and cut through the flames and the dark electricity but due to him putting so much power into the Dragon Pulse Zippo didn't focus on his Heat Wave which was pushed back by the dark electricity and Zippo was engulfed in darkness. Both Heliolisk and Zippo cried out in pain but the former was clearly in a worse state than the latter.
"Flaming Solar Blast."
"Hyper Thunder Blast."
Zippo opened his mouth and formed an orange orb that had a blue glow and was engulfed in flames. After spending a moment to charge the attack he fired it at Heliolisk. At the same time Heliolisk formed an orange orb that glowed blue and crackled with electricity. He then fired a large orange and blue beam from the orb. The beams clashed and they battled for dominance. At first they were even but Heliolisk was getting weaker by the second and his attack was gradually pushed back. It finally became too much for Heliolisk and he could no longer maintain the attack. This meant that Zippo's attack slammed into Heliolisk and knocked him out. Zippo then landed on the ground but was breathing heavily.
"Heliolisk is unable to battle. Since Ash Ketchum has lost three Pokémon there will be a short intermission while the battlefield is changed."
Ash and Richie returned their Pokémon and walked down the tunnels. Ash went to his locker room and Richie was escorted to another locker room since his one had been trashed.
Up in the stands Anabel, Ariana, Chris and Manaphy were looking worriedly at the scoreboard.
"Ash is in trouble." Anabel said.
"I wouldn't say that." Alex replied.
Everyone looked at Alex waiting for an explanation
"Ash has got just as good a chance of winning as Richie has. It's just gonna take a big effort from Meganium as she's gonna have to take down Drago, Cruise and do some damage to Sparky."
"But what about Ash's other two Pokémon and Richie's last one?" Ariana asked.
"Well one of Ash's Pokémon is obviously Charizard who will have to take down Zippo and Sparky. As for their last Pokémon I'm pretty sure that they will take each other out."
Ariana was about to question Alex further when they all spotted Ash and Richie walking back on to the battlefield.
Ash and Richie stood in their trainer boxes and looked at the new battlefield which was now a large pool of water with a series of islands. Neither of them were really happy with this battlefield as they had no Pokémon that could use this to their advantage. They both took a Pokéball off their belts.
"Drago to the battlefield."
"Meganium may the Aura guide you."
Both Pokémon came out and landed on an island. Neither Pokémon was that bothered about the lack of ground as Drago would be in the air and Meganium didn't rely on mobility to win.
"Flamethrower."
"Light Screen then use Toxic Blizzard."
Drago opened his mouth and shot a burst of flames at Meganium. As the flames approached her Meganium erected a yellow barrier in front of her., the flames hit the barrier and were deflected away. Meganium was then surrounded by a tornado of leaves that had poison dripping from them. The tornado of leaves shot from around Meganium and trapped Drago in a vortex. The dragon cried out in pain as the leaves slashed his skin and poison dripped into the wounds.
"Burn the leaves with Flamethrower then use Elemental Meteor."
Drago shot another burst of flames which incinerated the leaves and he formed an two orange orbs, one was encased in ice and the other was engulfed in flames. He fired the orbs into the sky and they exploded creating several meteors that now soared towards the ground.
"Use Protect and jump into the water."
Meganium was confused by Ash's bizarre command but she trusted him completely so she wouldn't question him. She created a barrier around her and after taking a deep breath jumped into the water quickly sinking to the bottom. Meganium held her breath as long as she could but eventually she had to try and take another breath. When she opened her mouth she was shocked to find that her mouth wasn't filled with water. She opened her eyes and saw that the Protect had created a bubble around her. Suddenly a meteor slammed into the ground next to her and then another then hit her Protect. A crack appeared in the shield and she was worried when water started to trickle through the cracks. Ash's eyes widened as air bubbles came from the bottom of the pool.
"Meganium use your vines to push yourself into the air then use Giga Impact and follow up with a Body Slam!" Ash yelled hoping that she could hear him.
Meganium managed to hear Ash's command even though his voice was muffled by the water. She extended all of her vines and used them to push herself up. Shot shot out of the water and shot like a missile at Drago who was trying to recover after using such a powerful move. The speed Meganium was going at combined with Drago's weakened state meant that the dragon had no chance to dodge. Meganium rammed into his gut and Drago started to shoot towards the ground and with a splash he sank to the bottom of the pool. Before Meganium could hit Drago with a Body Slam a pair of meteors exploded on Meganium's back. The Johto started cried out in pain and crashed down on to one of the islands. She quickly got back up and looked around trying to spot Drago but she couldn't find him.
"Giga Rush."
"Take it then hold him in place with Vine Whip."
Suddenly Drago burst out of the water and was surrounded in a blue aura. He flew full speed at Meganium and slammed into her but was unable to move her as she used all of her strength to dig her heels in and stop him. Eventually she felt him lose the strength to continue his attack so she extended her vines and wrapped them around Drago. The dragon struggled against the vines but it was futile.
"Finish Drago with Solarbeam."
The petals around Meganium's neck glowed green and a green orb formed in her mouth. Drago gave one final struggle but he was too weak after using Giga Rush and Elemental Meteor. As soon as the Solar Beam was charged she raised Drago into the air and fired the Solar Beam at him. The attack hit Drago who cried out one last time and then went limp in Meganium's vines. She released Drago and he crashed down on to one of the islands.
"Dragonite is unable to battle. Choose your next Pokémon."
Richie returned Drago and took another Pokéball off his belt.
"Tink to the battlefield."
Ash smirked as he realised that he had chosen the right Pokémon. He returned Meganium and took a new Pokéball off his belt.
"I see your Eeveelution and raise you mine. Glaceon may the Aura guide you."
The Eeveelution's stared each other down and smirked. Glaceon relished any chance she had to fight an Eeveelution and the prospect of fighting a Sylveon for the first time excited her. Tink was also pretty excited as she had heard from Richie about how strong this Glaceon is.
"Start with Disarming Voice."
"Match it with Echoed Voice."
Both Eeveelution's opened their mouths and released a loud sound wave that made everyone in the stadium cover their ears. The sound waves clashed and cancelled each other out.
"Fairy Wind."
"Icy Wind."
Tink pulled her feelers together, and the air around them started to glow light blue. Tink then spread her feelers wide open and sent a strong gust of wind at Glaceon. At the same time the ice Eeveelution opened her mouth and sent a wind that had shards of ice in it at Tink. The winds clashed and created a tornado in the middle of the pool which sent a lot of the water catapulting out of the pool drenching both Eeveelution's. This caused them both to lose focus and stop their attacks. They both shook the water off of them and sighed as they felt their fur dry. The Eeveelution's then heard their trainers clear their throats behind them, they turned around and saw that both of their trainers now had water dripping off them.
'Sorry.' they both said.
Ash and Richie shook their heads and then chuckled. The laughter made both Eeveelution's feel a lot better and they faced each other ready to continue their battle.
"Moon Beam."
"Frost Beam."
Both Eeveelution's formed a white orb in front of themselves. Glaceon's orb then became encased in ice and Tink's was surrounded in a pink orb. They both fired an oddly coloured beam, Glaceon's shimmered as the sun reflected off the ice and Tink's glowed pink. The two beams clashed and appeared to everyone apart from Ash and Richie who could see the ice of Glaceon's attack cracking and Tink's Signal Beam begin pushed back. Both Eeveelution's put all the power they could into the attacks which was enough for Tink's Moonblast to shatter Glaceon's Ice Beam and the ice Eeveelution's Signal Beam overpowered Tink's. The attacks pushed on and hit their intended targets making them both let out a pained cry. On first glance it appeared that Glaceon had come off worse however after a closer look everyone could see that Tink was staggering around clearly suffering from confusion.
"Use Metals Stars."
A horde of stars surrounded Glaceon and she struck them all with her tail which had turned metallic. When all of the stars turned silver Glaceon fired them at the dazed and confused Tink. The fairy type screamed in pain as the stars pierced her skin. This pulled Tink out of her confusion as she used her ribbons to remove a couple of the stars that had gotten stuck in her. Tink let out another pained cry as the star was removed she then threw the stars back at Glaceon who jumped and twisted to avoid them.
"Quick use Draining Kiss."
Ash's eyes widened, he didn't think Richie used that attack but that didn't matter. All that mattered was Glaceon not being hit by the attack.
"Glaceon you've got to believe me when I say that you cannot let that attack hit you. Keep your distance with Ice Beam and if she gets close use Iron Tail."
Glaceon landed back on the island and although she wasn't really sure what the big deal was she wasn't about to argue with Ash so she started firing Ice Beam's at Tink. The fairy was too quick though and she kept dodging them by jumping from island to island. When Tink got close Glaceon's tail turned metallic and she swung it at the fairy type. Tink saw the attack coming and tried to dodge but was still hit by the attack on her right side. This didn't stop Tink though as she ran forward and planted a kiss on Glaceon's cheek. A few seconds later to Tink's surprise she felt a metallic tail slam into her face and send her skidding across the ground. She got up and rubbed her cheek with one of her ribbons and stared at Glaceon in confusion. Usually when she used that attack she could wait a while to gain a lot of strength back but this time she had only gotten a few seconds.
'Why weren't you affected by my attack?' Tink asked.
'I have a mate. A mate that I love and no slutty attack will ever change that fact.'
Tink growled angrily, she hated it when people said that. In her opinion that was them implying that she was slutty.
"Moonblast."
"Protect."
Tink spread her feelers wide open, and an image of the Moon appeared behind her. She then formed an orb of pink energy in front of her mouth, and fired it at Glaceon. The ice Eeveelution quickly formed a shield around herself. The pink orb hit the shield and although cracks formed where the orb hit it didn't shatter the shield.
"Fire an Ice Beam straight up."
Glaceon did as told and shot an Ice Beam straight up. The ice hit the top of the shield and froze it. Ice then started to cover the inside of the shield until it was completely coated in ice. Richie and Tink tried to see inside but were unable to so they had nod idea what Glaceon was doing. Ash smirked at the confused look on Richie and Tink's faces, he just hoped that Glaceon had been practising her swimming skills.
"Moonblast." Richie instructed.
Tink formed another pink orb of energy and fired it at the ice. The orb shattered the ice and both Richie and Tink were shocked to see no sigh of Glaceon. Suddenly the ground beneath Tink rumbled and Glaceon burst out of the ground sending Tink high into the sky. As Tink came back towards the ground Glaceon's tail turned metallic and she leapt into the air. When she was just above Tink Glaceon slammed her tail down making the fairy cry out in pain as she slammed into one of the few remaining islands.
"Hit her with another Iron Tail."
"Dodge and use Iron Tail. Then hit her with a Dazzling Gleam."
Glaceon's tail once again turned metallic and she aimed it down at the fairy however Tink was too fast and her tail got stuck in the ground. Before Glaceon could try to get free a metallic tail slammed into her face sending her crashing into one of the other islands. The ice type got back on to an island just in time to be blinded by an intense light. Glaceon shook her head trying to get rid of the spots now appearing before her eyes but it was no good.
"Use Bite then throw Glaceon and use Shadow Ball."
"Frozen Shadows."
Tink quickly shot towards Glaceon and bit down hard on one of her ears. Tink then threw Glaceon into the air and formed an orb of black energy in front of her. She fired the black orb at Glaceon but was shocked when she saw that it was frozen and joined the other frozen Shadow Balls around Glaceon. The ice type smirked and then fired all of the orbs at Tink who tried to dodge them however several of them still hit her making her collapse. Glaceon landed back on an island and Tink got back to her feet but both were now standing on wobbly legs. Ash and Richie watched as both of their Pokémon were now struggling to stand.
"Fairy Impact."
"Frost Impact."
Tink was surrounded by a pink glow and Glaceon was encased in ice. The Eeveelution's leapt from island to island until they clashed. A white light was emitted by the clash as they both tried to overpower their opponent, both putting more power into the attack until finally a massive explosion shrouded them in smoke. Ash and Richie heard a couple of splashes as their Pokémon crashed into the pool. Everyone watched on wondering what had happened and got their answer when both Eeveelution's floated to the surface unconscious.
"Glaceon and Sylveon are unable to battle. Both trainer choose your next Pokémon."
Ash and Richie returned their Eeveelution's and thanked them for their efforts. They then took a Pokéball off their belts.
"Cruise to the battlefield."
"Meganium may the Aura guide you."
The island Cruise landed on started to sink so he had no choice but to jump off the island and slam down on the bottom of the pool. The force created a hole in the bottom of the pool and the water quickly drained away. A Sandstorm then started due to Cruise's ability however Meganium quickly put an end to it by shooting an orb into the sky that exploded and caused the sun to shine brightly. Ash took a quick look at Cruise and could see a tiny crack on his right shoulder from when that Solar Beam hit him. Meganium turned around and sent Ash a look that told him that she'd seen the crack too.
"Let's start things off with a Seed Bomb."
"Charge through and use Ice Punch."
Cruise's right fist became encased in ice and he charged towards Meganium. As she saw Cruise headed her way Meganium opened her mouth and a white orb was formed inside of it. She then fired multiple glowing white seeds from her mouth that exploded when they hit Cruise. The Armour Pokémon shrugged the attacks off and threw his fist forward knocking Meganium back a few yards. Ash was slightly concerned for Meganium as although he knew how tough she is Cruise is a powerful opponent. They both looked at Cruise and smirked when they saw that the cracks had gotten bigger. They knew it wouldn't take much more for that entire plate to break off.
"Earthquake then hit her with another Ice Punch."
"Use Leaf Storm."
Cruise stamped his foot creating a massive Earthquake, his fist then became encased in ice again and he charged at Meganium. A tornado of leaves then surrounded Meganium and shot shot them at cruise however the intense tremors affected her aim making the leaves shoot harmlessly away from Cruise. The Armour Pokémon sent his fist forward and knocked Meganium back again.
"Crunch."
Cruise opened his mouth revealing a series of pitch black teeth. He then sank his teeth into Meganium's neck making her scream in pain. Ash hadn't heard Meganium make a noise like that for a long time and that fact worried him.
"Meganium you have to focus and use Giga Drain."
Despite the pain she was feeling Meganium pushed it aside and focussed on her surrounding. Meganium then glowed green and a similar glow surrounded Cruise. After a few seconds Cruise let out a pained roar and released his hold on Meganium. He staggered back as he felt his energy being sapped. Cruise suddenly lashed out with an ice encased fist which caught Meganium in the face and sent her sprawling. This broke her concentration and stopped her Giga Drain however the damage had been done as Cruise felt a lot weaker and Meganium had regenerated some health.
"Dark Edge."
"Push through the stones and use Iron Smash on that shoulder then hit Cruise with Toxic Leaf."
Two rings of stones that were pitch black started to spin around Cruise. He fired the stones at Meganium who ran at the stones and winced every time one of the stones pelted her. When she was close Meganium leapt in the air and her tail turned metallic while it glowed bright orange. She slammed her tail down on the weakened plate and was deafened by Cruise who let out an enormous pained roar as he felt the plate of armour shatter exposing his weak flesh. Meganium saw her chance and after the ringing in her ears stopped she released several leaves that had poison dripping off them. The leaves shot at Cruise's exposed flesh and slashed it open making him fall to one knee as he felt poison now flooding his system. Both Ash and Meganium knew that Cruise was near enough finished so it was time to finish him.
"Frenzy Solar Blizzard."
Meganium's body became outlined in green and she stomped on the ground. Giant roots with spikes on them then burst out of the ground and after striking the Armour Pokémon they wrapped around Cruise's limbs. He struggled in the roots grip trying to brake free but the grip was too strong. He looked at Meganium and saw that the petals around Meganium's neck were glowing green. She then opened her mouth and a green orb formed in her mouth. After a few seconds she fired a massive green beam that was surrounded in a tornado of leaves. Cruise continued to struggle until the attack slammed into him and a thick cloud of dust and smoke shrouded Cruise from view. Finally the dust started to settle and revealed an unconscious Cruise.
"Tyranitar is unable to battle. Choose your next Pokémon."
Richie returned Cruise and selected his next Pokémon.
"Zippo to the battlefield."
"Meganium take a rest. Charizard may the Aura guide you."
Ash then rolled his sleeve and activated his Mega Ring. Charizard was then engulfed in a white light. When the light died down it reveal Charizard who's body and legs appeared more physically fit, though his arms remained thin. His skin turned black with a sky blue underside from the lower jaw to the tip of the tail. Two spikes with blue tips curved upward from the front and back of each shoulder, while the tips of his horns sharpened, turn blue, and curved slightly upwards. His brow and claws were larger, his snout was shorter, and his eyes were now red with white pupils. He had two small, fin-like spikes under each horn and two more down his lower neck. The lower trims of his wings were divided into large, rounded points and each third joint is adorned with a claw-like spike. Blue flames could be seen coming out the sides of his mouth, and the flame on his tail burnt blue with increased heat.
The two Mega Evolved stared each other down and smirked. Even though Zippo was feeling weakened after his match with Heliolisk he was more than ready to do as much damage as possible to the pokemon that had embarassed him eleven years ago.
"Flame Pulse." Ash and Richie instructed.
Both Zippo and Charizard opened their mouths and formed a turquoise orb that was engulfed in flames. A turquoise beam that was surround in fire then shot from the orbs. The attacks clashed and to nobody's surprise they cancelled each other out.
"Zippo use Hidden Solar Thrower."
"Charizard match it Hidden Flame Pulse."
Zippo absorbed the sunlight and formed a green orb in his mouth that was engulfed in flames and six yellow orbs surrounded him. At the same time Charizard formed a turquoise orb in his mouth that was engulfed in flames and six yellow orbs circled around him. Zippo then fired a green beam that was engulfed in flames and Charizard fired a turquoise beam that was also engulfed in flames. Both beams had six yellow orbs circling around them. The orbs were the first thing to clash which caused six mini explosions that shrouded the area where the beams were clashing. When the smoke cleared it showed the attacks were still evenly matched due to Zippo's higher special attack power being hampered by his weakened state. Ash could see that they were getting nowhere fast and that he wouldn't be able to beat Zippo in a long range battle.
"Fly through the attacks and hit Zippo with Shadow Dragon Claw."
Charizard gave a quick nod and flew straight through the attacks. Zippo kept up his attack in the hopes of stopping Charizard but his attacks just didn't have the stopping power they had when he was fighting Heliolisk. When Charizard was close to Zippo his claws glowed green and were surrounded in a dark aura. He then raked his claws along Zippo's right side creating three huge gashes. Zippo let out a growl and held his side as he felt blood trickle from the wounds. He was so focussed on his wound that he didn't noticed the metalic tail headed his way. Charizard's tail slammed into Zippo's face and sent him crashing to the ground.
"Use Flare Blitz to keep the pressure on."
"Stop him in his tracks with Dragon Pulse."
Charizard became engulfed in blue flames and flew at Zippo who was only just getting to his feet. As Charizard approached Zippo he opened his mouth and formed a turquoise orb and fired a beam of draconic energy at Charizard. Due to how close he was too Zippo there was no chance for Charizard to dodge the attack. The beam knocked Charizard back and he roared in pain. He quickly righted himself and exchanged a heated glare with Zippo.
"Thunder Blast!" Richie commanded.
"Send it back with Focus Punch."
Zippo formed a blue orb in his hands that crackled with electricity and he shot it at Charizard. As the orb rocketted to Charizard his fist glowed white. He threw his fist forward and punched the orb causing it to go flying back at Zippo and making Charizard wince as he felt the electricity shock him. Zippo quickly flew up to dodge the orb which blew straight through the arena wall.
"Double Thunder Punch." Ash called.
"Dragon Claw."
Charizard's arms crackled with electricity and he shot at Zippo. He aimed a punch at Zippo's face but he easily ducked underneathe it. Zippo's claws quickly turned green and he swiped his claws across Charizard's stomach leaving three long but not deep cuts. Charizard roared angrily and then threw his other fist into Zippo's stomach making him let out a pained roar as electricity coursed through his system. They disengaged and descended until they were flying just in front of their trainers. Richie looked at Zippo worriedly as he was struggling to stay airbourne. It didn't take a genius to realise that Zippo was almost done.
"Zippo put all of your strength a Flare Impact."
"Finish Zippo off with Flare Rush."
Zippo became engulfed in flames and flew at Charizard who had become surrounded in a blue aura and was engulfed in blue flames. Charizard shot off to meet Zippo head on and the two of them started a massive battle for dominance. The power of them was creating shock waves that nearly knocked Ash and Richie off their feet. Eventually Zippo's tiredness caught up with him and he lost what little strength he had left. With nothing to stop him Charizard carried on with his attack and rammed into Zippo which made him crash to the ground next to Richie.
"Richie's Charizard is unable to battle. Choose your final Pokémon."
Back in the stands Ariana was having to control her excitement as she watched Ash gradually turn the battle around.
"Ash has turned it round, he's gonna win for sure." Ariana exclaimed.
"It's a bit early to be saying that." Alex said.
"What do you mean?" Ariana asked.
"Ash may have two Pokémon to Richie's one but both of them have been weakened. Sparky on the other hand is fully fit. This match is far from over."
Ariana suddenly felt a lot less confident. She looked at the scoreboard and realised that not too long ago Ash had been in Richie's position but Ash had managed to turn it around.
"Come on Ash, you can do it." Ariana whispered.
On the battlefield Richie returned Zippo and then looked from the scoreboard to Sparky.
"Sparky you ready to win this?"
'Yeah let's do this.'
They shared a determined grin and then Sparky jumped off of Richie shoulder into the empty pool. He exchanged a smirk with Charizard however it was cut short when Ash returned Charizard. Ash knew that the dragon wouldn't be happy about this but the fact of the matter was that Charizard would lose to Sparky right now. He needed Meganium to do some damage to Sparky and then hope that Charizard can sweep up.
"Meganium may the Aura guide you."
Meganium landed on the base of the now dry pool and stood ready for battle.
"Extreme Speed."
Sparky shot off at an amazing speed, the only thing visible were the white streaks coming off him. Meganium felt Sparky slam into her side, she turned to look that way but then felt Sparky slam into her other side. Ash growled as he was basically watching an exact replay of Rose vs Butterfree. Well this time he was ready for that strategy.
"Earthquake then throw him in the air with Vine Whip."
Meganium felt Sparky ram into her again but just ignore it and raised her front feet quickly slamming them down on the ground. Intense tremors shook the ground and caused Sparky to stumble as he let out a pained growl. Meganium quickly released her vines and grabbed Sparky. She then threw him into the air before he could try and shock her.
"Solar Beam."
"Intercept it with Volt Tackle."
Sparky managed to turn himself around and he shot towards Meganium as his body was surrounded in a yellow aura. Meganium's petals glowed green and she absorbed the sunlight quickly forming a green orb in her mouth. As she was about to fire Sparky rammed into the orb which caused a massive explosion that sent Sparky and Meganium flying. Luckily for the former he was shot in the air and managed to land on his feet minimizing the damage. Meganium on the other hand was shot straight back so she slammed into the pool wall. She pulled herself out of the wall but looked worse for wear.
"Use Iron Electro Bolt."
"Energy Storm."
A ball of electricity formed on the end of Sparky's tail, a bolt of electricity then shot off of Sparky increasing the size of the ball. He finished it by hitting the ball with his now metallic tail which sent it rocketing at Meganium. Meanwhile Meganium had formed a green of energy that was surrounded in a tornado of leaves. She fired the attack at Sparky's move and although her Energy Ball was quickly overwhelmed, the tornado of leaves managed to avoid the ball of electricity. Meganium cried out in pain as the ball of electricity shocked her, usually an electric attack wouldn't faze her but Sparky was on a whole other power level to almost any other electric type. Sparky was so focussed on his attack that he had no chance to avoid the attack so he was thrown into the air and the leaves slashed at his skin leaving a series of small cuts. Sparky slammed down hard on the base of the pool and after a short pause he got up and saw that Meganium was stood up too however she looked exhausted.
"Meganium you can stop if you want to." Ash said.
Meganium looked back and shook her head.
'No I've still got one more attack in me.' Meganium replied defiantly.
"Okay well use Toxic Plant."
Meganium raised her front legs and stomped them on the ground causing a series of thick roots that had poison dripping from them to shoot out of the ground. The roots stabbed at Sparky who at first was able to dodge them however he slipped on one of the puddles of water still in the pool. This made him fall to the ground and he cried out in pain as one of the roots pushed him into the pool wall. He struggled to break free but he was trapped, he cried out again when he felt some of the poison seep into his wounds. Suddenly the root dropped to the floor, Sparky looked confused but then saw Meganium now lying on her side breathing heavily.
Ash immediately leapt into the pool and cradled Meganium's head. He saw her eyes flicker open and he looked at her worriedly.
"Meganium are you okay?"
'Yeah.' she murmured.
"I'm so proud of you Meganium. Don't worry me and Charizard will win this."
Meganium smiled weakly and briefly nuzzled Ash before finally losing consciousness.
"Meganium is unable to battle. Choose your final Pokémon."
Ash returned Meganium and got back out of the pool. After placing Meganium's Pokéball back on his belt he Charizard's off.
"The time has come, Charizard may the Aura guide you."
The dragon reappeared and had a determined glint in his eye as he finally had a chance to redeem himself for his actions eleven years ago.
"Flaming Focus Punch."
"Thunder Break."
Charizard's fist glowed white and was engulfed in flames. He charged at Sparky who's fist crackled with electricity. The mouse ran forward and his fist clashed with Charizard's. Sparky tried his best to match Charizard but could feel himself being gradually overpowered. His tail turned metallic and swung it at Charizard. The dragon saw the tail headed his way and quickly twisted to avoid the attack. This allowed Sparky to deliver a Thunder Punch to Charizard's stomach. Charizard growled and his claws turned green, he slashed Sparky creating three cuts on his left side. They both fell back and winced as they momentarily held the area that had been struck.
"Use Thunderbolt to keep him at range."
"Dodge them and use Fire Punch then Iron Tail."
Sparky charged a large amount of power and shot a bolt of electricity as Charizard who strafed to the right. Sparky quickly loosed a series of smaller bolts of electricity, some of them hit Charizard but due to the dragon typing he now possessed the electric attacks were nowhere near as effective as they would usually be. Charizard dodged the last Thunderbolt shot his way and hit Sparky with a flaming uppercut. He then shot off after Sparky and his tail turned metallic.
"Sparky use Discharge."
Charizard flew over Sparky and swung his tail down just in time for Sparky to release a wave of electricity. As Charizard's tail slammed down on Sparky's back and sent the mouse crashing down to earth, the wave of electricity engulfed Charizard and repeatedly shocked him. The moment Sparky slammed into the ground the electricity surrounding Charizard dissipated. Sparky got back up and saw sparks of electricity occasionally shooting off of him showing that he was suffering from paralysis.
"Go for another Iron Electro Bolt." Richie said hoping to take advantages of Charizard's paralysis.
"Focus Thrower."
Another ball of electricity formed on the end of Sparky's tail, a bolt of electricity then shot off of Sparky increasing the size of the ball. He finished it by hitting the ball with his now metallic tail which sent it rocketing at Charizard. The dragon tried to form the attack but his body seized up when he tried as the electricity coursing through him controlled his movements. Charizard continued to struggle until the ball of electricity slammed into him. Ash watched worriedly as Charizard plummeted towards the ground. He let out a relieved sigh when he saw Charizard land on his feet.
"Seismic Toss."
"Thunder."
Charizard shot at Sparky and grabbed the mouse by his tail. He flew up into the air and roared in pain as a large amount of electricity was discharged from Sparky. Despite the pain he was feeling Charizard remained focussed on his goal and continued to fly straight up. As soon as he was high enough Charizard threw Sparky at the ground and fired a large burst of flames at him. Sparky reacted by firing a bolt of electricity at the flames which stopped them however he couldn't stop himself from crashing into the ground. He struggled back to his feet and looked at Charizard who looked just as tired as he was.
"Extreme Volt Impact."
"Giga Flare Rush."
Sparky was surrounded in a yellow aura and he shot off so fast that he was barely visible. Charizard responded by surrounding himself in a blue aura and flames. He flew at Sparky and the pair clashed both trying to overpower the other. Their combined power was making the stadium shake almost knocking Ash and Richie off their feet. The ground around Charizard and Sparky started to disintegrate until they were standing on a small chunk of rock. With a roar both Pokémon put all the strength they had into the attacks which was all it took for their attacks to explode shrouding them in a thick black fog. The power of the explosion knocked Ash and Richie off their feet and they skidded along the ground, the only thing stopping them from hitting the walls was Mewtwo's intervention. Both trainers groaned as they got back to their feet and looked at the fog which was starting dissipate. When the battlefield was clear Ash let out a triumphant cheer as he saw Charizard standing over an unconscious Sparky.
"Raichu is unable to battle. All of Richie Hiroshi's Pokémon have fainted which means that Ash Ketchum advances to the semi finals."
Richie climbed down into the pool and picked up Sparky. The mouse's eyes opened and he looked sadly at Richie.
'I'm sorry Richie, I let you down.'
"No you didn't. You were incredible."
Sparky smiled and then passed out.
"Hey need a hand?"
Richie looked up and saw Ash.
"Yeah."
Ash reached down and grabbed Richie arm. He then lifted Richie out of the pool and they shook hands.
"That was a great battle Richie."
"Yeah it was. I hope we'll have another battle soon."
They smiled and shook hands once more. After waving to the crowd they went down the tunnel and exited the stadium.
Notes
For those wondering why Ash's Tyranitar didn't trigger Sandstorm I didn't want them both to have that ability so he has Guts – Yes I know he doesn't have that ability but Larvitar does so I just chose to say it's an extra ability Tyranitar can have.
