Chapter 20 The End is Where it all Begins

Romeo POV

One Week later

(Fairy Tail Guild)

I felt my head throb as I slowly open my eyes to see the white roof of Fairy Tail medic room. I did not know how long I've been there but by the way my body felt, I must have been out for a while. I slowly try to sit up felling the bruise I got from the fight as I heard the door open. "Romeo?" I turn towards the door to see Wendy standing their looking happy to see me awake. I was about to greet her but Wendy did not give me a chance as she ran towards me throwing her arms around my neck giving me a big hug.

"Romeo…I'm glad you're awake…" I smile down at Wendy as I lift up her head to see little bruise on her face. I suddenly felt guilty remembering how much Wendy and the other got hurt because of what happen between The Ataxia and us. I gently pull Wendy to my chest as I told her I was sorry. Wendy gave me a confuse look, "I should have known that Hayato would of pull a stunt like this… Because of me I got you and big bro hurt…" I turn away from Wendy not feeling man enough to look her in the eyes.

I heard Wendy let out a small sigh as she brought her hand to my face moving it so I would look at her. Looking at Wendy eyes I was a stern look as she began talking. "You do not need to be too hard on yourself about this Romeo. Natsu and the other do not blame you on what happen during the tournament. Beside if there's anyone to blame it would be those Ataxia." Hearing Wendy bring up Hayato I ask her about them. Wendy gave me a sad look and explain how when they were about to confine them all five of the Ataxia disappear. I curse under my breath knowing that Hayato always have an escape plan waiting, but I did not let that bother me as I look back at Wendy feeling a bit happy knowing I do not have to be Pyro around her but just Romeo Conbolt. "Hey Everyone Romeo is up!"

The moment I heard my name being call out from the outside the door of the medic room open again and a rush of familiar face enter the room. I could not help but let a huge smile come out as I saw all of my family standing around me as I felt something jumping on my lap. "BIG BROTHER!" James and Asuka jump on to me giving me a bone-crushing hug as I smile at them giving them a hug in return. "Big Brother Romeo me and James cannot breathe." I heard everyone laugh at what Asuka said as I let both of them go. I saw Natsu walking up to me placing a hand on my shoulder giving me a huge smile. "Welcome back Romeo." I could not hold back the tear that was building up as I realize that four years of being gone I was finally back. "Yea… I'm back."

I spend a whole day hanging out with everyone but I could not help but feel like I was forgetting something, something important. I watch as everyone was celebrating me and my brothers' victory in the tournament as they put together a little party inviting my brothers guild. During this party, I learn that I was knock out for about a full two week and that Cole and the other were getting their bearing being back with their old guild. Again I could not help but feel like I was forgetting something as I started to hang out with Natsu who had his kids along as I sat down with him and the other. During the party I got this strange vibe from everyone when they were around me. It felt like if they did, or say something wrong I might just leave. I did not put too much thought into that knowing that I was not going to leave any time soon.

I saw my brother siting on one of the table as they wave for me to join them. I excuse myself from Natsu and the others as I took a seat with brothers. "So how does it feel to be back from the dead?" I rolled my eyes at Cole as Mirajane walk to our table giving me a big hug as she handed us a something to drink. "It been great knowing that I didn't die." My brother and I laugh a good laugh knowing we did not have to put up an act and just be our self. I calmly look around the guild to see all the mage mingling with each other as I lean in towards Cole and the others not wanting Natsu and the others to hear what I have to say.

"Did any of you guys got in contact with Master Zeref?"

My brother nodded their head no saying that Master have not contact any of them since they woke up. I let out a sigh sitting back towards my chair as I ask Tamashii about this, but my guardian of fire just told me not to worry about it seeing as our master like to go on private journey without telling anyone.

"Hey guys!"

The four of us turn towards the shout as we say James running towards us with a big smile on his face. "Wow, James where the fire?" I tease our little brother, as his smile grew even bigger as he roll up his right sleeve to show us what was on his arm. The four of us sat there in shock when we saw what was below his right shoulder. Printed on our little brother shoulder was the logo of not one, not two, but all four of our guild trademark.

"Isn't this cool guys now I'm apart of all of your guild."

I could not help but smile at the little man as I saw Natsu and the other walking towards us. "You all allow this?" Natsu just smile as he told us that it would not be fair for James if he had to pick only one guild to stay at, and this way James can spend time with all his brother. I was happy to see the other guild member agree to what Natsu said, and I was really happy to know that they welcome James so easy. I look back at James as he was showing Asuka the mark as I stood up and walk towards him.

"So how dose if feel to me a member of our guild little man?" James just smile at me yelling "It Awesome!" I suddenly surprise James as I lift him up into the air as Cole and the other got up from the seat as we all celebrate for him.

Natsu POV

I carefully rock little Michelle in my arms as I sat back and watch my little brother Romeo having fun with his little brother. I could not believe how much that little pipsqueak grew up and how proud I was of him. I look over to my Wife Lucy as she held Igneel in her arms. I look over to the others as I saw Wendy walk towards me with a sad look on her face. "Hey Wendy, what with the long face?" I tease her as she took a seat with us. "Natsu… You know we have to tell Romeo sooner or later." My smile soon disappears as I realize what Wendy was asking. "I know Wendy, but let just wait a little bit longer."

Romeo POV

I was having a blast hanging out with the other guild and learning what they been up to for the past four year. I learn that Gray finally accepts Juvia feeling and that they were married. I learn that Elfman and Evergreen are married and they are currently adventuring out into the world. I found out that Gajeel and Levy were an item and that Gajeel was planning on proposing to her. And the biggest thing I learn was that Master Makarov step down as Guild master and place Laxus as his successor making him the seventh guild master of Fairy Tail. I ask how Laxus was able to join the magic tournament if it prevent Guild master from entering it but Sting laugh saying they allow it this year which allow him to participate in the tournament as well.

I look around at everyone when I notice Natsu and Wendy had a sad look on their face. I calmly walk towards them taking a look around of everything when something finally hit me. I look over the crowd of people trying to find the person I could not believe I forgot about. I walk up to Natsu as he gave me sad smile.

"Hey Romeo who are you looking for?" "Oh I'm looking for my dad…"

Natsu stare at me with sad eyes as the whole guild became quite. I suddenly had a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach as I look around letting out a nervous laugh seeing every Fairy Tail member trying their best to avert eye contact. I slowly look toward Wendy as she try everything she can not to look at me. I saw small tears in her eyes as the feeling in my stomach grew worst. "Come on guys this is not funny… Where's my dad, is he out on a mission or something…" no one talk as the feeling god worse inside of me. I quickly look over to Wakaba hoping he would say anything about my dad but all he did was stare.

"CAN SOMEONE PLEASE ANSWER ME!"

I suddenly lost my cool yelling at everyone as I was suddenly turned around. I felt Lucy threw her arms around me embracing me in a big hug. Feeling Lucy holding me in her embrace the color in my face soon fades as I started to understand what was happening. I felt my body started to shake making Lucy hold me tighter. Think back to this tournament and my training with Master Zeref I remember facing many obstacle and seen many terrifying thing… But standing right there in Lucy arms, I felt so scared, so terrify as I look up to Lucy hoping what I thought was a lie. However, the look on Lucy face told me everything as I suddenly broke down crying into her chest gripping on her shirt. I felt Lucy rubbing my hair slowly hearing her whisper three word.

"Romeo…I'm sorry."

It was quieted as I stood over a tomb holding a bunch of roses in my hand. "Hey dad… Sorry I'm late." I look down at the tombstone in front of me as it read the words, "Macao Conbolt" Seeing those name on the tombstone many emotions were building inside of me as I got to my knee placing the bundle of rose down trying my best not to break down. "I hope I did it dad… I hope I became a strong wizard that you could be proud of." I felt a hand on my shoulder as I look at Wendy giving me a reassuring smile. I did my best to smile back but I felt the pain in my chest knowing that I never got a chance to say good-bye to my dad.

"How long… How long did he pass away?"

Wendy did not answer me right away as she kept her hand on my shoulder. "He passes away about a year ago. Your father was very upset when you disappear and spend the first year looking for you." The guilt in my chest grew as I kept quiet clenching my hand into a fist. "Natsu and the other try their best to console him that you were alive… But after the second year he gave up on the search for you putting all his time and effort on mission hoping that it would distract him."

My fist tighten as I clutch to the dirt on the ground feeling the pain inside of me growing as I felt Wendy slowly wrap her arms around me. I slowly look back to see Natsu, my brother and other member of Fairy Tail as they all have sad look on their face. Tears slowly started to form in my eyes as I thought about my dad and how he try to raise me even without a mother, trying his best to teach me right from wrong. I knew my dad was not the best father in the world but I knew love me with everything he got. I started to wonder if he knew how much I love and appreciate all he did for me. I wonder if he knew that everything I did was so I could make him proud of me. I wonder all of this but I knew I would never know.

"Did my dad say anything before he died…"

Wendy slowly let go of me as she nodded her head yes. "Before your father past away he left a few word for you just in case you come back." I did not say anything as I let Wendy tell me my father final words

"Your father said that he was sorry he did not make it to see your return… He said that he knew you were out their getting stronger and trying make a different in this world. Your father wanted to let you know that he loves you and that you were the best thing he ever had."

Hearing those words from Wendy I felt the tear fell from my eyes as Wendy place a hand on my cheek as I look at her. "Romeo you need to know that your dad loves you very much and that he would be very proud to see the mage you come." I nodded my head to Wendy as I took her hand into mine as I look over to my brother as they gave me small smile. I slowly smile as I whip the tears in my eyes thinking how my dad would wanted me to move forward and not wallow in the past. I look back at Wendy as I told her thank you.

A hand was place on my shoulder as I look towards Cole and the other standing beside me. They all gave me a small smile as I smile back turning back toward my dad grave as I slowly pat the tomb.

"Dad… I would like you to meet my brothers… I been training with these guys for the past four years and we have become one hell of a team... These guys may not look like it but they are the most trustworthy people I know, and the best friend I could ever ask for." My smile slowly grew bigger as Wendy grip my hand as I continue speaking. "Life been pretty hectic dad but I know I'm going to be fine. I have great friend that I could count on, an awesome guild will look out for me, and an amazing dad who is watching…" I felt tears stream down my face but I knew it was no longer tears of grief. "I love you dad… and I'm sure going to miss you."

I felt a little better seeing my father as I walk beside my brother out of the cemetery. I told the others to go on without us as I stay behind with my brothers. I gave Wendy a kiss on the forehead waving her good bye as I walk with my brother to the park. "So what happen now?" We all look towards Daisuke as we took a seat under a tree gazing out in the distance. "What do you mean?" "I mean what do we do now, do we go back to our guild or do we continue working with this little group of ours?" I let out a small laugh laying back down feeling the sunray hitting my skin. "I don't see why we can't have it both ways. I mean we could stay with our Guild and keep our team going there is no rule saying we can't. And beside we still have a lot of thing we need to do as the Guardian and a lot to learn from our master and guardian spirit." I slowly extend my hand raising it to the sky. "I mean the end is where it all begins."

Normal POV

Unknown area

In a dark cavern five-hooded figure stood on pillar as the ground shook with ferocity. A load roar was heard piercing the sky as the ground open. All five mage bow as a black dragon climb out of the ground.

"Welcome back Master Acnologia..."
