So sorry about the wait, guys. Kinda got blocked, but I had an idea. I just couldn't get it fleshed out in the chapter. The references to the movies are as follows:

Dodgeball game:

Captain America (Thin, pale, walking-stick kid "Rogers! You're out!")

Percy Jackson (black-haired, green eyed "JACKSON! OUT!")

Avengers (Strongest on the team, tall, brunette boy with hazel eyes and a very intelligent air about him "BANNER! YERRRR OUT!")

Pre-Play:

Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (the spoon threat)

So here, we have a little connection between two of our Jaegers and we find out some things about their pilots too. And I got a little bit of what's going on in the Breach. Oh, and someone sees something they're not supposed to...

I own nothing.

Chapter 21

Herc made his rounds around the Shatterdome the next evening as usual. He and Chuck had spent most of the previous night tending to Striker's bruises from Gipsy's onslaught with a metal spoon.

He had just walked past the men's wash barracks when he heard something…and froze.

A low, tenor-bass voice sang from the room, but that's not what made him freeze, it was the song it was singing.

It was the song Herc had tried to sing to Angela the night of their wedding.

"My love there's only you in my life, the only thing that's right…"

Mako and Raleigh were wandering around in the Shatterdome after the whole Gipsy beating Striker with a spoon event…which Raleigh found hilarious and congratulated Gipsy for standing up for herself. Chuck herded Striker off after that, but not before shooting Raleigh a murderous look.

They had just started into the human area of the Shatterdome when they heard it.

A rippling alto voice that rose and fell and then paused…like it was in a duet with someone.

The two Pilots stood by the door of the women's wash racks and listened.

"My first love, you're ev'ry breath that I take, you're ev'ry step I make…"

Raleigh's phone rang and he picked it up.

"Please tell me I'm not the only one hearing this, Ray," Chuck started over the phone…

Right as the tenor joined the alto in the duet.

"And I, I want to share all my love with you no one else will do and your eyes they tell me how much you care. Oh yes, you will always be my endless love,"

"Who do you think it is?" Raleigh asked.

"Dunno…maybe the Kaidonovskys?" Chuck suggested, "You'd have to be like…Drifting…to be that in sync,"

"Um…Raleigh…" Mako started.

"Not now," Raleigh hushed her, "Maybe another husband-wife group?"

"Nah, I don't think so,"

"RALEIGH!" Mako yelled.

"What?!"

She pointed at the door…

Right as Gipsy walked out, wringing her long black and red hair while still humming the song.

"Um…Raleigh?" Chuck started, "I know who the tenor is,"

"I know the alto," Raleigh coughed, "Gipsy,"

"Striker," Chuck said at the same time.

Mako bit her lip as Raleigh started choking.

Those two, well, Gipsy, were shouting curses and chasing the other around with a spoon and threatening to stab them with said spoon just the other day. Now they were singing the man/woman part of a duet while the other Jaeger sang the accompanying part!

"I really think those two are going to get together," Raleigh grinned.

"Who sings in our group?" Mako asked, "I sing a little…but I'm rusty,"

"Yancy couldn't hit a tone in a brass bucket," Raleigh deadpanned.

"Then it's got to be you,"

Raleigh shrugged sheepishly.

"And you never told me," Mako growled.

"You never asked," he grumbled, "Besides…Jaz always told me to shut up when I did it…said I sounded like a wounded moose, rather than the King"

"Ever think she might have been teasing?"

"Ouch, Miss Mori, that hurts,"

"You two aren't teasing each other again, are you?" Gipsy asked, turning around with her hands on her hips.

"Nope!" Raleigh answered, "No teasing here,"

"Uh huh…" the Jaeger started, suspiciously closing a golden eye, "Sure…"

"Don't you have lines to work on?" Raleigh asked gently.

Gipsy's eyes hardened and she whipped about on her heel, quickly striding away.

"You made her mad," Mako pointed out.

"No, really?"

"So which one of you is the singer?" Raleigh asked Chuck and Herc as they sat down at lunch, "Can't be Max…or Chuck,"

"Har har, Ray, very funny," Chuck growled.

"Me," Herc admitted, "The strange thing was…it was the song I sang to Angela on our wedding night,"

"He would have gotten it from the Drift though," Raleigh shrugged.

"I was horrible," Herc snorted, "Striker's…well, he's very good,"

"So is Gipsy,"

"So is Gipsy what?" Jazmine asked, sitting down next to Mako with the twins beside her.

"Gipsy can sing,"

"Really? That's great!"

"But that's not the point!" Raleigh protested, "She sang a duet with Striker all the way across the Shatterdome!"

"And that has to do with that how?"

"They were perfectly in sync," Chuck started, "An…"

"AUNTIE GIPSY!" the twins squealed, leaping away from the table and tackling Gipsy to the ground as she walked in.

"Oof!" Gipsy wheezed, "I'm guessing this is going to be a normal thing for you two, huh?"

"Yep!" Lauren chirped.

"Hey, Auntie Gipsy…when is your play?" Matt asked.

"Uh…"

"And when do you get to kiss Striker?"

Gipsy's eyes flashed and she gave a low growl, Raleigh could hear the faint whirring of her turbine as it started to appear and start up. The area around her eyes started to turn a pale yellow color and gain a shiny tint. The twins scrambled off her.

"Gips…" Raleigh warned.

She shook it off, the whirring dying and her skin fading to its normal texture and color.

"I don't know," she answered tersely, getting up and walking out.

"Gipsy…" Raleigh called, but the Jaeger waved and kept walking.

"She really doesn't want to talk about that, does she?" Jazmine asked.

"Nope," Raleigh sighed, "I've never seen her this moody. And we've been through…"

Mako elbowed him, making her Co-Pilot yelp.

"I'll go talk to her," Jazmine said, "She needs a woman's touch,"

"Um…Jaz, I don't think that's a good idea…" Raleigh started, but Jazmine had already gotten up and walked towards the area where Gipsy went.

Jazmine wandered into the Jaeger hanger by accident, seeing Cherno and Crimson both moving around. The Jaegers froze when they saw her, both inwardly cursing each other as a smile grew on the woman's face.

"You don't have to worry about moving around," she told the two mechs, "I bet its boring standing around all day,"

They just stared at her.

"They didn't know you knew about them moving around," came Coyote's voice from behind her.

The woman turned to face the sandy-haired teenager, with the Asian girl Raleigh said was called Tacit…or Roni by Coyote…standing beside him.

"They were told not to move or anything while you were here the room with them…we didn't realize you knew about them being sentient," Tacit explained.

"Kinda hard to forget that when Yancy kicks Gipsy Danger in the foot and she yelps, staggering back before growling at him,"

Coyote and Tacit both seemed to find that funny.

"He kicked her?" Coyote gasped, "And she felt it?"

He was so not going to let Gipsy live that down.

"Apparently," Jazmine shrugged, "The look she gave him…"

She shuddered, she could have felt the icy venom off the visored glare the Jaeger gave her Pilot.

"I can image," Coyote agreed, "The girls are scary,"

Tacit shot him a cheeky grin.

"We just do it to keep you boys in line," she replied, "Although…Gipsy's not very good at it, she seems to instigate it more than help fix it…she has her moments where she does though,"

"Speaking of Gipsy," Jazmine started, "You know where she is?"

"Last time I saw her, she was heading outside," Coyote shrugged, "She tends to go out to the beach to cool off,"

"Thanks," Jazmine called as she ran outside the hanger doors and looked around the beach.

So far, nothing but the sand and the deceptively calm water.

"…mn Aussie! Ruins everything!" came a distinctly American female voice, "Can't go two feet without someone talking about that blasted kiss!"

There was a sound of a rock hitting water and Jazmine followed the voice.

"Why is it I can't have two minutes of breathing room?" Gipsy yelled, hurling another rock into the sea, "Is that too much to ask!?"

Jazmine crept closer, almost in viewing distance of the teenager. She heard a low, but loud whirring noise the closer she got…

"You brought me back here, but why!?" Gipsy cried, "You could have left me at the bottom of the sea! In that blasted Anteverse! And let me die in peace!"

Jazmine froze as she heard that…and she gasped at what she saw.

It was Gipsy…that was for sure.

But the teenager seemed to have a gold visor covering her eyes while gunmetal-blue armor covered her arms and legs and one of the famed chain-swords took the place of one hand.

Gipsy heard the gasp and turned towards Jazmine, horror and shock painted over the Jaeger's face.

"Jazmine…" she breathed, the armor, sword and visor melting away, "This isn't what it looks like…"

The woman backed away, terrified at what she saw.

"Jazmine, please!" Gipsy begged, starting forwards, but Jazmine turned tail and ran, "JAZMINE!"

Jazmine ran until she made it to the Shatterdome hangar…looking at the five teenagers there. It was then that she realized that they all were Jaegers. Coyote (Tanner) was Coyote Tango, Tacit (Ruri) was Tacit Ronin, Cherno (Afon) was Cherno Alpha, Crimson (Zhu) was Crimson Typhoon, Striker (Steven) was Striker Eureka…they were all alive…all teenagers.

"Jazmine!" Gipsy yelled, running in, her black and red-streaked hair flopping into her face as it fell out of her ponytail, "Please, let me explain!"

Four pairs of fiery gold eyes and one pair of icy blue eyes locked on the two.

"Stay back," Jazmine warned as Raleigh and Mako ran in.

Gipsy's pleading gold gaze turned to her Pilots and Raleigh bowed his head, closing his eyes.

"I'm so sorry, Raleigh," Gipsy whispered, "She…she snuck up on me…"

"You know," he finally said, "Jaz…we were going to tell you,"

"What, when the war was over!?" Jazmine hissed, "When you were on your deathbed!? That those six…are JAEGERS!"

"We didn't want to frighten you," Mako told her.

"Well, look how well that worked out!" Jazmine snapped, "You know what, forget it. I'm getting Matt and Lauren…and we are going back to Anchorage,"

The six Jaegers jumped like they had been stung.

"No!"

"Please don't go!"

"Nyet! Do not take the little ones!"

"Jazmine, please! Don't take them!"

"We're begging!"

"You're the only family I have outside of Mako, Raleigh, and Yancy," Gipsy whispered in a small voice, "Don't take my niece and nephew away…don't let me lose another sibling,"

Jazmine's gaze hardened.

"Raleigh can risk his life if he wants, but I'm taking my kids home," she growled, "I've already lost one family member because of you,"

Gipsy looked like she had been slapped and tears started streaking down her face.

"Jazmine, that was uncalled for," Raleigh snapped, "It wasn't her fault!"

"Defend her, why don't you!" Jazmine snorted, "She's the reason Yancy died. You almost died because of her! I know what happened with Operation Pitfall, I saw the medical reports, Raleigh!"

"SHE SAVED MY LIFE!" Raleigh roared, "If it wasn't for her, I would be atoms in the Anteverse along with her!"

"STOP!" Striker yelled, causing everyone to look at him, "Just stop. Don't ya see what you're doin'?"

The Jaeger's fiery gold gaze landed on Jazmine.

"You. You have no idea what we've all been through," he growled, "Every single one of us has died attempting to save our Pilots or giving another the chance to live,"

He pointed at Tacit.

"Helm and Conn-Pod ripped off and shattered,"

Then at Coyote.

"Conn-Pod shattered, Pilots killed on impact,"

Crimson was next.

"Conn-Pod ripped off, Pilots crushed and impaled,"

Then Cherno.

"Reactor near-meltdown, Conn-Pod crushed underwater, Pilots drowned,"

He pointed at himself.

"Atomized to give Gipsy time to get to the Breach,"

He looked at Gipsy who he was currently embracing as she sobbed.

"Reactor melt-down to save all humanity,"

Striker glared at Jazmine again.

"What gives you the right, human, to say that it is her fault?" he growled, his voice gaining a metallic edge to it, "The reason you are standing here, the reason why all of you are here…is because of Gipsy's sacrifice. Because of Yancy's sacrifice. You have no right to treat her this way. None,"

Jazmine's gaze didn't soften.

"I will not endanger my kids," she snapped, storming out.

"I'm sorry," Gipsy whispered, "I wish I could have taken his place, I wish none of this happened, I wish they never thought of me,"

"Careful," Brawler warned Horizon as she leaned out from behind a rock, "It's slick,"

The green eyed Chinese Jaeger snorted.

"We've been through worse, Brawler," he chuckled, "A bunch of Anteverse Precursors aren't going to bother me…nor their slimy surroundings,"

"Fine, fall to your death, see if I care," Brawler growled, blowing an iron-grey strand of hair out of her blue eyes.

"You know you love me," Horizon grinned.

"Why, why, Yancy did you partner me with this Joker," Brawler grumbled.

She took a step forwards, and her foot slipped on the slippery rock, nearly plunging her into a blackened Abyss.

"Gotcha," Horizon announced, yanking her back on the ledge, "See, what would you do without me?"

"You two can romanticize later," Romeo chuckled, his reddish-orange gaze gleaming as he and Chrome Brutus edged up beside Brawler and Horizon, "Yancy's ordered us back to the camp…says Nova Hyperion and Eden Assassin found something,"

"Let's go then," Brawler ordered.

The four made their way cautiously back to the camp…where Nova and Eden waited patiently…and covered in Kaiju blood.

"What happened to you two?" Horizon asked.

"Got in a little trouble with some Precursors…they set their Kaiju pets on us," Nova shrugged.

"Da, and then we destroy them easily," Eden grinned, her eyes glinting brightly, "Faces…so surprised!"

"Sorry to interrupt the war-stores," Yancy said, "But what did you two find?"

"We find enemy's base," Eden answered, "Was not expecting it…but we did,"

"You found his hideout," Yancy repeated, "That…well done, girls, well done!"

"So…when do we crush this creep?" Vulcan Specter growled, slamming his first against his palm, "He's caused enough pain to our comrades…to all of us…"

"Soon, Vulcan," Yancy promised, "Soon,"

And he meant every word of it.

Yes, I am evil that way. I was getting tired of Jazmine not knowing and I figured she'd take it...well *note sarcasm*. She's still very wary of the Jaegers because of Yancy's death and it still hurts. Striker's comforting Gipsy and who knows...maybe she won't be trying to stab him with a spoon.

I had the idea of the two singing together (and not knowing) for a while and I thought it was sweet. Making the song the same one that was played at Herc and Angela's wedding made it sweeter, but that's my opinion.

Anyway, hope you liked it. If you did, please let me know!
