Chapter 19: Cheeky.

Next to the quiet and solitude of the halls, the hall seemed like a zoo where all the animals had been released. No space to move your arms apart from to wedge a hole between to people and then squeeze through. Progress was slow, and of course, with every turn I ran the risk of coming face to face with Jaque. If that happened, I'd have nowhere to run.

Ok, overreaction. I'm making it sound like Jaque is a serial killer or something. He's not. But I really didn't want to see him. I couldn't reject someone I really did like, I would feel horrible.

And I did find Jaque. Without knowing it, I had walked to the centre of a small crowd. In the middle, Dom was sitting next to Jaque and she had her veela charm on. I mean, she had it on big time. Boys all around were staring unashamedly straight at her. But she only had eyes for Jaque, and he her.

Turning around to set off back into the crowd, I smiled to myself. Atleast Dom was getting what she wanted.

After that, it wasn't too hard to figure out where Roderick was. But it was hard to get to him. See, I had worked out that Roderick and the rest of the Dursmtrangs were the source of loud whoops and cheers. Unfortunately, the whoops and cheers were surrounded by about half of the 3 schools together.

And let me tell you, some of those fans were not easy to move, or to squeeze past, or to, well, I couldn't get through them.

In the end I actually resorted to crawling. Crawling. And all I could think was dang, this guy must be special if I'm crawling for him.

My hands got trodden on a few times. And every time it happened the offender would look down to see why the ground felt funny; see a wild-eyed, crazy-haired ginger girl crawling along; and back away quickly. Unsuprisingly, this helped clear a path for me.

I stood up when I got nearer the middle. I didn't want Roderick to see me crawling now, did I? Only crazy people crawl in the middle of a crowded space. I didn't want him to think I was a crazy person.

More like I didn't want him to know I was a crazy person.

When I finally pushed my way to the centre of the crowd, Roderick's eyes found mine immediately. He was still on the shoulders of some Durmstrang people, and he was laughing heartily.

"Rose!" He said when he saw me. Well, he more like yelled it, he had to otherwise noone would of heard. "Come join me!" I didn't even have time to be puzzled before I was being hoisted onto the shoulders of his team mates.

I yelped and clung to the heads of the guys I was sitting in. This made Roderick laugh even louder.

"Rose I haf to ask you somezink." Roderick said as soon as I was next to him. I was aware that everyone's eyes were on us as we rose above everyone. But all I could think was this is it this is it this is it.

"Yes?" I asked, putting on my most innocently unaware voice. He grinned.

"Vill you go to the ball with me?" My heart exploded in my chest. The pressure of maybe having to turn Jaque down disappeared. All I had was the butterflies fluttering pleasantly as any 15 year old girls should when she is with a guy she likes and he likes her back. In that moment, I felt younger than I had felt in a long time.

"Yes." I nodded, and Roderick kissed me as all around us his teammates cheered and highfived.

"Well I think you've lost the bet there Zabini." Scorp said as he sat down. "Might aswell hand over the broom already." Both me and Tyler knew what had brought this on. How could we not, pretty much the whole school was watching my cousin snog Roderick Krum.

Ok, 'snog' might have been an exaggeration. But whatever it was, I was not ok with it.

"Nah she will still say yes to Tyler, master of seduction. She's only settling with that Krum guy because he's the only one interested in her right now." Zabini smirked proudly.

"Yes Tyler, she's only 'settling' with the son of the most famous quidditch player ever who is also one of the richest wizards in the world because she has no other options." I told him, rolling my eyes. From his other side I heard Scorpius snigger.

Tyler shoved us boisterously. "She will say yes, you'll see. I'll be the one laughing when I'm flying around on Scorp's brand new, limited edition broom." He raised one amused eyebrow at Scorp and then he jumped up and left the hall.

"Where's he gone?" I asked Scorpius.

"Probably to get the chloroform for your cousin." He looked away from the hall doors to face me and we both burst into laughter.

I was in a dream like state as I floated back to the common room. No matches to worry about until after the Yule ball. No more hiding from Jaque. And best of all, I had a supermegafoxyawesomehot date to the upcoming ball. Every girls dream.

I was going up to the common room a bit late, with Dom. And from what I could see she was in the same mood as me. But that all deteriorated when we walked into the common room.

"You're such a slut! I can't believe you thought that a boy like Al could ever even look at you!" Jessica Parkinson's voice was filling the room as she shouted at a black haired girl who was faced away from me.

Alice.

"I didn't-" My best friend began weakly, struggling to defend herself. She never liked arguments.

"Why would a Potter ever want you. You're nothing." Jessica's brown eyes were burning with the heat of the argument. My gaze slid over the room to where Al was cowering in an armchair in the corner.

And that was when the most awesomest thing I had ever seen happened. James Sirius Potter walked straight up to Alice and kissed her right on the lips.

"There we go." He said as he turned to face Parkinson. "She just got snogged by a Potter, which is more than you'll ever be able to say." And everyone burst out laughing as James took a bow.

"Thankyou thankyou, I'll be here all week."

Most of the Gryffindors were rolling on the floor or clutching their stomach as they laughed at Parkinson's lost face. You could see her eyes panicking, flitting around. Visibly searching for a comeback that might help maintain the last of her dignity.

Clearly, she found nothing. Because she just stomped her foot and fled back up the girls staircase.

After a while the common room started clearing. People went up to their dormitories. I, however, stayed down and waited for Al to finally ask Alice.

"Just to make sure Alice, I was just doing that to get rid of her. I don't have time for another admirer." James told Alice after most people had gone. My best friend grinned back.

"I know. And, well, thanks." She blushed slightly.

"Anytime." James smirked, and Alice laughed.

I turned my attention away from James and Alice's conversation and looked back to the corner where Malfoy and Al were sitting. But they were gone. I whipped my head round and saw the back of Al's head disappearing up the staircase to the boys' dorms.

"Excuse me guys." I told James, Alice, Fred, Roxy and Dom. "I have to go kill someone." They just waved goodbye as I headed after Al.

When I got to the boys' dormitory I hardly even stopped at the door. Just kicked it open and kept moving.

"Albus Severus Potter! What in Merlin's beard do you think you're doing! You just had the perfect opportunity to ask Alice out and humiliate Parkinson and you just sat there. You brother had to save Alice and he's not even the one who's madly in love with her!" Al's eyes widened and for a second I thought he was going to tell me to stop shouting his secrets to the world. But he didn't.

All he said was, "Is she mad at me?" And my heart softened at the worry in his green eyes.

"No Al, I don't think she's mad at you." I said in a kinder tone. "But still! If that had been me down there I would have walked right up to you and slapped you in your famous fat face you jerk! Get down there and fix it right this second." Al looked thoughtful for a second.

"Wouldn't it be better if I did it more publicly, you know. So everyone saw?" Al asked me. "Like, at breakfast?" My eyes narrowed as a plan planted it's seeds in my brain.

"Albus Potter, that might just be the best idea you've ever had." He beamed triumphantly. "I'll leave you to plan it all out. And remember Al, it has to come from in here." I pointed at my heart. And after he nodded in understanding I turned and left.

I spent the rest of the night lying awake in bed and wondering what Al would do for Alice. Turns out, I didn't have to wait long to find out.

.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.

By the time I got to breakfast the next morning, most of the three schools were already there. Including all my friends and family.

As I slid onto the bench across from Alice my eyes slid to where a group of Slytherins were sitting. I found Al's Green eyes across the room and though it was only a tiny movement, I saw him nod.

Just a minute later, there was a loud boom from the front of the room. All heads turned toward the sound and found Al standing on the end of the table, wand by his side. He was walking up, over the dishes and plates and as he did, he started to talk and behind him in burning letter, words started to form in mid-air. The same words as were coming out of his mouth.

"Alice Longbottom, you are amazing. Beautiful, smart, brave. And I know you've never been for the cheesy things, so I'm sorry. But you've earned something big and I am not creative enough to think up anything better. You know me, have known me since you were born, and you know my imagination is limited." I glanced over at Alice; she was staring, transfixed, at Al. And her green eyes were beginning to swim with tears.

"But you give me inspiration, and confidence. You make me want to sing, and dance and jump up and down and laugh. And whilst I can sometimes refrain myself from doing those things, I cannot refrain myself from this." Al had almost reached us, his gaze directed only at Alice and he avoid bowls of bacon piled high and dishes of croissants.

"Alice, you are the girl for me. I have known it for years. So will you do me the honour, of coming to the Yule Ball with me?" Al was now right in front of Alice, and he held out a hand. "Please?"

Alice, wide-eyed and beaming, took his outstretched hand and clambered onto the table with him. "Of course I will Al." She said, before throwing her arms over his shoulders and leaning in for a kiss. The hall erupted into cheers, and through it all I managed to hear shouts of 'That was so cute!'; 'Yes Al!' and also 'Yes little bro, get some.'

Three guesses who that last one was.

But amidst all this, the only thing in my head was, you did good Al, you did good.

.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.Scorpius' POV.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.

Jess stood up in outrage as the Longbottom girl kissed Al. She screamed in frustration, looking around frantically for anyone to give her some attention. I smirked as she stomped her foot again and ran from the hall, sobbing and crying.

Luckily, no one but me could here her over the cheering.

"Ughh Al is such a girl." Tyler said as he pulled a disgusted face at the couple on the table.

"Maybe," I grinned over Tylers shoulder at Al. "But, he's a girl that gets the girls, if you know what I mean." Tyler pulled a face at me.

"Well, personally, I prefer being a man whilst getting the girls." He replied. And as if to prove his point, he winked at a nearby Slytherin 3rd year, she blushed lightly and turned away.

"I don't know how fat you'll get with Weasley using that theory." I told him, as I watched the younger girl giggle with her friends.

"Oh please," Tyler scoffed, "she's going to be begging me to go to the ball with her once I'm done." And with a menacing smile, he cracked his knuckles.

"When you do that, it makes it look like you're going to kidnap her or something. You look crazy."

"Who says that's not what I'm going to do?" He smirked and raised ad eyebrow, and deep in the pit of my stomach, something moved. I frowned.

"Yeah.." I said distractedly, wondering if I'd eaten something.

"Scorp you've gone white as a sheet man."

"Um. Sorry yeah, what?" I asked, and pushed the weird stomach moment from my mind.

.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.Rose's POV.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.

After breakfast, me and Dom went back up to the dorms. Not surprisingly, Alice didn't follow. Surprisingly, Roxy did.

"Hey Dom, I know this is short notice and all," Roxy began as she walked into the room after us and sat on Alice's vacant bed, "but you know how Victoire has a successful dress-making business now?" She ran her hand through her hair and lent back in an obvious attempt to seem nonchalant.

"Yes...?" Dom grinned and winked at me.

"Do you think she could make something for me? You know, for this Yule Ball thing." Roxy asked, sitting back up.

"YES!" Dom jumped up, clapping, "yes yes yes. She can make dresses for Alice and me and you and Rose and AAALLLL of us and we can look so hot and we can own the whole night and..." She broke of, breathing heavily with on hand on the post of her bed.

Roxy beamed, "Really?"

"You really think Victoire can make four dresses in, what? Just over a week?" I asked, sending Dom a doubtful look.

"Rosie you get too caught up in muggle things." She replied, dancing around the room. "You're forgetting that my sister is a wizard. Now, all you have to do is make a quick sketch of the dress with the colour and send your measurements in. Then, in a few days, our dresses will be here!"

So we spent the next fifteen minutes measuring eachother and sketching our dresses, mine was blue. Blue suited me, well, that's what people said. And it was long, veeerrryyyy long. I made sure to make that very clear, we didn't want a repeat of the slut dress. But anyway, this would be floor length. Very simple aswell. Roxy's was purple, and knee length and had a skirt that went out and a sweetheart neckline (that's what Dom called it). I didn't see Dom's design, but I knew it was a lime green.

A/N: Sorry again for the long wait. So ROSEDRICK or RODROSE or RODOSE or what? And ALBICE, ALUS or you know, comment which ship names. And give me ideas for the design of Dom's dress. I'm not good at doing that. Also, I know I don't deserve it, but I would appreciate it if you could drop a review and try get the reviews to 60 maybe? :* thanks! Love you.
