Hey Baby, Here's That Song You Wanted – Blessthefall
"I've spent all night long, trying to figure out what I've lost and what I've found when my feet won't hit the ground. Trying to make it, starting over. And will we ever love again?...So here we are again, to make some sense of it all, all these sudden changes...I keep putting together what we lost. But pieces keep falling one by one. Cause this life has us holding on. Hey baby, are you alone tonight? How can we make it? Hey baby, it looks like you were wrong. It's never too late, too late."
Danielle's eyes slowly opened. Her mind took a second to remember everything that happened last night. And when she moved stiff fingertips, she looked down to find her hand wrapped over a familiar tattooed one. She smiled and slowly turned herself around so she wouldn't wake Austin with not much luck. His face scrunched up and his eyes opened, looking directly into Dani's.
A smile stretched over his stubbled face as he gave her the good morning kiss she's missed for so long. She wrapped her arm around him and their legs tangled up with each other. She closed her eyes and listened to the sound of his breathing, feeling like she was finally home.
Suddenly, she heard the door to the back room open and a familiar voice speak rather loudly. "Dani, Andrew—oh." Danielle and Austin both looked at Vic, very embarrassed to be caught like this. Vic smiled nervously and then backed out of the doorway. "My bad."
After the door closed, the couple looked at each other and silently started laughing. Danielle reached for her phone near the end of the couch and scrolled through everything on her lock screen. Hundreds of kids were tweeting her, asking about the rumored fight she and Austin had had.
"Dude, some of these kids are seriously way too interested." Danielle said, unlocking her phone and scrolling down her Instagram feed.
Austin wrapped an arm around her waist and buried his face into the crook between her neck and shoulder, closing his eyes. "And you're honestly still surprised about that?"
Smirking, Danielle opened her camera and held the phone high to capture both of them. She smiled brightly and just as she was about to snap the picture, Austin slightly opened one eye. She started laughing as his head jerked up and he snatched the phone from her hand to examine the picture.
"Aren't you adorable?" She said, attempting to take her phone back. Austin stared at her with a sly smile and let go of her phone. She kissed his cheek and then proceeded to scroll through the filters, trying to decide on the best one.
Once she was ready to post it, she tagged Austin and typed out the caption: Such a wittle sweepy head in the morning. With the double heart emoji and posted it. Then after she locked her phone, Austin pulled her closer again, leaning his head on top of hers.
"I should see what Vic wanted." She said, playing with the promise necklace wrapped around his neck that a fan made him.
"No," Austin moaned in a tired, raspy voice, leaning back so he could look at her. "Let's just go back to sleep for a little longer."
Danielle laughed and squished his cheeks together, giving him a fish-like face. "We've got every day once we get home for that."
Austin rolled his eyes and let his head fall back down on the pillow, closing his eyes again. "Fine..."
Giving him a long kiss, Danielle rolled off the couch and into the bunk hall, grabbing her pajamas off her own bunk and throwing them on before heading out into the front lounge where all her band and crew members sat.
And Vic. Who always seemed to be on her bus every morning now. When they saw her, they diverted their eyes.
"Jesus, am I suddenly Hester Prynne or...?" She said.
Andrew looked at her, his lips set in a straight line. "We just want to make sure this is it. I know it seemed like you and Austin have actually made up, but you were also both drunk last night again."
Danielle sighed, leaning against the doorway. "It's all over. I promise."
"You had sex with Trace." Erick said, a look of utter disappointment on his face. "We all know you did."
"And I won't deny that." Danielle shrugged.
"Do you want the reputation of being that girl?" Erick asked, narrowing his eyes at her. "Does Austin know he took Trace's sloppy seconds?"
Danielle's mouth dropped. Vic suddenly looked annoyed and stared at Erick, which made him suddenly shrink back into his seat. Then, Vic looked back at Dani but she couldn't read the emotion on his face.
"I told you I trusted you, Dani." He said flatly. "So what the hell did you do to make that asshole leave you alone?"
"I just told him I wanted him to leave. And he did."
Erick raised an eyebrow. "And you believe it's over like that?"
Danielle nodded slowly. "I don't think he's going to cause anymore trouble."
"He still wants to kill Austin. He's not going to let this go easy." Jeff suddenly piped in. "We all know it and you know it too, Dani. Stop trying to cover up for him. I don't even understand why you would."
"Look," Dani put one hand up and tried to gain her composure. "I understand that the things I've done on this tour have been very, very crazy. I also know that I'm going to get bit in the ass for some of those things. But Austin and I have talked. Without screaming, we actually talked and we're okay now. Ask Vic."
Everyone looked at Vic and being put on the spot, he froze up for a second and then gave a little shrug-nod. Then, everyone looked back up at Dani.
"Austin's in the back room right now if you don't believe me. We're really, really going to try to work on being a real couple."
Erick shook his head. "You're crazy, Danielle." He paused and then a slow smile slid on his face. "You're honestly lucky we all love you too much to stay so mad at you."

All of the positive comments made Danielle smile for the whole morning. She walked through the venue, feeling like a completely different person. Every part of her just felt so alive and joyful. As she rounded the corner into the snack shop, she spotted Ronnie there with Mike.
When Ronnie saw her, he gave her the look. And he continued to stare at her as he headed for the cashier. She hit him in the arm and a small smile slid on his face.
"Stop giving me that look." She said, grabbing a diet Coke from the fridge.
"Oh, Danielle," he said, looking at her. "I know what you did the other night and I have to say I'm very, very upset with you."
A nervous smile slid on her face. "But you heard what happened last night, right?"
Ronnie rolled his eyes and shook his head, a small smile still on her face. "Drama follows you like a dark cloud."
Mike paid for his stuff and he walked around Ronnie, opening his bag of chips. "Yeah, and she kissed my brother, too. Slut." He smirked. With a dropped jaw, she went to slap him in the face but he dodged it, laughing. "Kidding, kidding..."
As Ronnie was about to walk off, he placed a hand on Danielle's shoulder and said, "In all seriousness, when that prick comes around again, I'm gonna make sure I'm there so you don't make another mistake."
"He's not coming back, Ronnie." Danielle said with matter-of-fact.
Ronnie stared at her like her head just fell of her shoulders. "Yeah. And I'm re-joining Escape The Fate." He started laughing and walked away. Danielle just shook her head and bought her soda.

The images in front of Danielle's eyes were blurred together and the loud noises seemed muffled inside of her ears. An arm that draped around her shoulder made her jump. She turned and saw a shocked Austin letting out a little laugh.
"No need to be hostile. Only me."
Dani nodded, running a hand over her face. "I'm sorry. I guess I'm a little jumpy since...everything."
Austin didn't speak. He looked around Dani's bus, filled with all the other band members and a few others, making it even more claustrophobic.
"Can we talk?" He suddenly asked.
Dani looked at him raising an eyebrow and smirking. "When I'm drunk? Really?"
Austin laughed. "Isn't that normally when we have our heart to hearts?"
Dani met eyes with a band girl that seemed to have her eyes on Austin and Erick. Dani quickly agreed, grabbing hands with Austin and dragging him to the back lounge, hoping that made it obvious who he belonged to. She locked the door and lied down on the couch, her head starting to spin. She prayed she wouldn't puke.
"You okay?" Austin asked, gingerly propping her up so he could sit next to her. She nodded, closing her eyes and lying her head in his lap. He pet her hair down, making her feel sleepy.
"Why'd you sleep with Trace?"
Dani's eyes opened. She let out a deep sigh. "It was a mistake. I'm sorry. He said all he wanted was me and I was hoping he would leave right after I gave him what he wanted. And he did."
Austin kept petting her hair. "How do you know that for sure?"
Dani slowly sat up, meeting his eyes through a thin fence of her dark hair. He looked seriously concerned. "Austin, I won't let him hurt you."
"I don't care what he does to me." He snapped. "I care what he'll do to you."
Dani smiled, looking down, feeling her body sway slightly. "I dealt with him abusing me for a year and a half. I think I could handle him."
Austin looked away. He was quiet for a few seconds. "And...about Gielle..." He looked back into her eyes. She didn't react. She almost forgot about mentioning that earlier. "She's my past. And I want you to respect that. We were both young and naïve."
Dani nodded, looking down in embarrassment. "I didn't mean to—I was just hurt." She looked back up at him, her bright green eyes filling with tears. "I'm still hurt. I'm trying so hard to pretend it never happened. So hard to pretend you weren't with someone else. With several someones. Why did you do it?"
Austin shook his head, looking away from her tear filled eyes. "I could tell that we were going to fall apart. I didn't want to hurt you. I make stupid decisions, I'm sorry. That's over now. I promise."
Dani sniffled, wiping at her eyes and looking down at her fingers to see if she smudged her make-up. "I love you and I want to trust you, but it's going to take a while."
Austin nodded. "I know."
Dani sighed. "And I'm sorry for bringing up Gielle. I vowed to myself when we first started dating that I'd never bring her up, ever."
Austin was quiet. He cupped Dani's face and made her look into his eyes. "She's my past. Just like Chrissy's in my past, too. The only girl I ever want in my future is you." Dani's eyes filled with tears again—this time with happiness. "The only girl I can see myself ending up marrying is you."
Before she could blubber like an idiot, Dani lunged for his lips. Austin held her close, feeding her hunger—their hunger for each other. She knew she wanted Austin just as much as he still wanted her and maybe just maybe this time, nothing would get in the way.
A/N: OKAY. So, this chapter might be a little confusing because I wrote it before I wrote the previous one, therefore, I had to change a few things. Basically, the end in italics is what happened the night after Austin took her back from the airport. So it's what happened the night before the beginning of the chapter. Make sense? Cool. UNTIL THE NEXT ONE! XO
