Chapter 21: Happy Anniversary
Sakuno could hear giggling next to her ear but she kept her eyes closed. "Shh Aoi, you're going to wake Okaa-San up." Ryosuke said.
At this time Sakuno opened her eyes and smiled. "Good morning you two." She said with a smile, "What are you two up to?"
Aoi squeaked and Ryosuke smiled. "Nothing~" He said and the two of them raced out of the room. Ryosuke was already five and looked so much like Ryoma that Sakuno couldn't help but smile. While little Aoi was already two years and walking. She on the other hand had her mommy's chestnut colored hair and big doe like eyes. Sakuno got out of bed and headed to the kitchen where the delightful aroma of bacon was coming from. Ryoma was in front of the stove. Sakuno gasped seeing dark puffs of smoke in front of him. Ryoma cursed and threw the pan in the sink. Sakuno skipped over to her husband and planted a kiss on his cheek. "Trying to make breakfast Ryoma?" Sakuno asked.
Ryoma turned and smiled. "My failed attempt." He said sheepishly.
Sakuno giggled and wiped the dark smudge off of his face. "What would you like for breakfast Ryosuke?" Sakuno asked taking the apron from Ryoma.
"French toast!" Ryosuke piped happily.
"Fwench twoast! Fwench twoast!" Aoi imitated.
Sakuno nodded her head. "Coming right up!" She said enthusiastically, "Is there anything special you'd like Ryoma?"
Ryoma shook his head. "Coffee."
Sakuno smiled. "Oto-San doesn't want any French toast?" Ryosuke asked.
"No fwench twoast for papa?" Aoi said with a small frown on her face.
Ryoma ruffled his children's hair. "Oto-San will have some French toast then."
"Coming right up." Sakuno said.
When Sakuno finally finished, the four of them had a lovely breakfast. "Ne, do the two of you want to play with Auntie Tomoka?" Ryoma asked.
Sakuno looked at Ryoma confused. "Eh? Why?"
Ryoma winked. "It's a surprise."
Sakuno blushed. "Auntie Tomoka is so much fun." Ryosuke said happily.
"Auntie Tomo!" Aoi squeaked.
Ryoma chuckled. "I'll take that as a yes then."
"Yay!" The children screamed and headed to their rooms to gather their toys to bring,
Sakuno smiled and gasped feeling Ryoma's warm hand over her's. "What do you have planned Ryoma?" Sakuno asked.
"A se-cr-et~" Ryoma said seductively.
Sakuno couldn't help but laugh at Ryoma's unusual behavior. "Alright then."
After Dropping the Kids off at Tomoka's House
"You two love birds have fun." Tomoka said with a big grin on her face.
Ryoma smirked. "Thanks for helping me."
Tomoka gave him the thumbs up. "Anything for Sakuno-Chan. But you better give me all the details later!"
Ryoma waved her good bye. "Yeah, yeah, I'll give you in great detail everything that happens."
Sakuno kissed Ryosuke and Aoi good bye. "I know you two are probably going to eat a lot of candy just don't get into too much trouble please?"
"Hai, Okaa-San~" The two of them said as they ran into the house.
Sakuno stood up straight and hugged her best friend. "Thanks a lot Tomo-Chan." Sakuno said.
Tomoka chuckled. "Anything for my best friend!"
Sakuno smiled and rubbed Tomoka's stomach. "I can't wait till you're born." Sakuno cooed.
Tomoka laughed. "I'll see you later."
Sakuno nodded her head. "Bye bye."
Sakuno climbed in the passenger seat and watched as Tomoka's figure grew smaller and smaller until she could no longer see her. "So where are we going?" Sakuno asked turning to her husband.
Ryoma held Sakuno's hand with his left hand. "Don't worry, you'll find out soon enough."
Sakuno pouted. "Okay."
Half an Hour Later
Ryoma finally parked the car and Sakuno looked around her surroundings. "This…this isn't-"
Ryoma grabbed her hand and laced his fingers between hers'. "You'll see." He said as he pulled Sakuno along.
He opened the door and the bell rang. "Welcome! Oh my! Hahhaa it's been a while since I've seen the two of you here." The jolly man said.
Ryoma nodded his head. "Long time no see."
Sakuno smiled. "Hello."
The owner of the ice cream parlor whistled seeing Sakuno. She had developed into a lovely young woman. "Sakuno look how much you've grown! If you weren't married now I would have taken you for myself."
"Hands off." Ryoma said wrapping his arm around his wife's waist, "She's taken."
Sakuno couldn't help but laugh. After ordering their ice cream they sat in their usual spot that they use to eat at five years ago before Ryoma had proposed to her. Sakuno smiled at the memory. "What are you thinking about?" Ryoma asked.
Sakuno smiled. "Five years ago…when you had proposed to me." Sakuno said smiling.
"Sakuno Echizen," Ryoma said as he went down on one knee.
"Ryoma, what are you-"
"Will you marry me?" He asked.
Sakuno blushed. "Baka," She said hugging him, "If I didn't I wouldn't have your last name."
Ryoma chuckled and lifted his wife into the air and twirled her around. "I love you Sakuno Echizen. No matter for better for worst, in sickness and in health, I will always be by your side no matter what."
Sakuno started to tear up. "Mou, Ryoma!" She said softly hitting him.
Ryoma brought her into yet another embrace and as he pulled her away slightly he kissed her tenderly. Sakuno smiled and kissed her husband back. "Eh? Isn't that Echizen and Sakuno-Chan nya?"
Ryoma and Sakuno both turned to Kikumaru and Oishi walking over to them. "Sempai?" Ryoma said confused, "What are you guys doing here? I thought you guys were in America right now?"
Oishi smiled. "We just got back yesterday."
"How are the kids nya?" Kikumaru asked Sakuno happily.
Sakuno smiled. "They're doing fine."
"Speaking of kids…where are they?" Oishi asked a bit confused.
"They're hanging out with Tomoka right now." Ryoma answered.
Kikumaru and Oishi made an 'oh' sound and laughed awkwardly. "Then we'll be going! Have fun on your date!" Oishi said pulling Kikumaru along.
Ryoma grabbed Sakuno's hand. "On to the next place."
"Where going somewhere else?" Sakuno asked.
Ryoma smirked. "We're going many places today Sakuno."
One Hour Later
"We're at a beach!" Sakuno squealed happily, "I haven't been to the beach since our honeymoon.
"Yeah," Ryoma said, "And that didn't go too well."
Sakuno giggled. "Though I did manage to have fun." Ryoma said smirking at Sakuno.
Sakuno blushed. "Mou!" Sakuno said softly hitting her husband.
"Let's go for a swim." Ryoma said pulling his wife closer to the water.
"Eh? But we don't have swim suits!" Sakuno squeaked as the water licked her toes.
"It's okay, I brought a change of clothes for us." Ryoma said with a smirk.
"Both of us?" Sakuno said confused.
Ryoma smirked. "Of course, unless you wanted me not to."
Sakuno shook her head. "Of course I did!"
Ryoma smirked. "Good." He said as he swept his wife off her feet and walked her deeper into the water.
Everyone around them looked at them strangely. "Everyone is staring." Sakuno said hiding her face in the crook of Ryoma's neck with her arms wrapped around his neck.
He shrugged. "Who cares?" Ryoma said.
Sakuno couldn't help but giggle. "Bad boy."
"Will you punish me?" Ryoma asked.
Sakuno flushed and playfully hit her husband again. "Mou! You're such a pervert Ryoma!"
Ryoma kissed his wife's nose, "Of course but I'm your pervert."
Sakuno smiled, "Indeed you are."
Their bodies were submerged in water and only their heads showed as Ryoma kept his feet planted on the ground. Sakuno looked at Ryoma and smiled. Ryoma smiled back and kissed his wife. Sakuno ran her fingers in Ryoma's hair as she kissed him back. "That would be interesting." Ryoma said when they parted for air.
"What would be interesting?" Sakuno asked.
"Doing it in the water." Ryoma said with a devilish smirk on his face.
Sakuno's face turned beet red. "Mou!"
An Hour Later
Ryoma and Sakuno came back to the beach with their clothes clinging to them. Sakuno wrapped her arms around herself feeling exposed. "Everyone is staring." Sakuno said as she clung onto Ryoma's back.
Ryoma smirked. "Made, made, dane."
Sakuno rolled her eyes. As they headed to the car, Ryoma grabbed a bag from the trunk and handed it to Sakuno. "Do you wanna change in the car? There's a towel in the bag too." Ryom informed her.
Sakuno nodded her head. Ryoma opened the door and shut it behind his wife. Sakuno looked at her husband's back pressed on the car. She smiled and opened the bag and gasped.
A few minutes later, Sakuno knocked on the door for Ryoma to open the door. Ryoma couldn't help but smile seeing his wife. She wore a silver sleeveless dress that barely reached her knees. A cute bow was tied on the side that hitched up the dress a bit but giving the dress elegant waves. Sakuno's hair was still nearly dry and was wavy and gave her an angelic look. Sakuno blushed. On her dainty little feet were silver matching one inch heels. "When did you go get this?" Sakuno asked.
Ryoma put his finger to his mouth. "A secret my love."
Sakuno pouted.
Sakuno got out of the car and then Ryoma climbed in to change himself. Sakuno covered her chest area feeling the men passing's gaze. "Hey are you by yourself little angel?" One of the men asked in a group that came towards her.
Sakuno's eyes widened as they came closer. She felt scared and couldn't speak. "Would you like to hang out with us?"
At that moment Ryoma opened the door and grabbed Sakuno by her waist and brought her closer. "Sorry gentlemen, this pretty little angel is already married." Ryoma said raising both his and Sakuno's hand, "And if you don't want to get the shit beat of you, I suggest you keep walking along."
And that is exactly what they did. Sakuno let out a sigh of relief and turned to see her husband wearing a pressed black suit. Sakuno smiled. "You look handsome." Sakuno commented.
"And you're an angel straight from heaven."
Sakuno laughed at her husband's corny line. They buckled themselves in and they off once more. The sky was turning a redish orange tint as it mixed with the blue. "It's gorgeous!" Sakuno said in amazement.
Ryoma turned and smiled. "Not as beautiful as you."
Sakuno smiled, her cheeks reddened. Ryoma just wanted to stop the car there and kiss her which would have probably made her even redder. Her face…it was just…so…darn…cute! Ryoma shook his head and suppressed the urge. If he did, they would be late for the dinner reservation. By the time they had reached their next destination the sky had darkened and the sky was sprayed with hundreds and thousands of stars. "This is beautiful!" Sakuno breathed dazed by all the twinkling stars, "I've never seen so many stars before!"
Ryoma squeezed his wife's hand and pulled her to the outdoor restaurant. Sakuno blinked amazed at where they were. "Wait-"
"Do you remember that restaurant you wanted to go to when we were college?"
Sakuno nodded her head. "With such a beautiful view…" Sakuno gasped, "Is this the place?"
"Bingo." Ryoma said with a smirk.
Sakuno clasped her hands together happily. "This is wonderful!" Sakuno said looking up, "I can't believe you remembered!"
"Of course I remembered." Ryoma said with a small scowl, "I remember everything you've told me."
Sakuno leaned closer. "Are you sure about that?" She challenged.
Ryoma leaned in the faces mere inches. "100% sure."
Before they could do any more, a waiter came to take their drink orders. "Champagne." Ryoma said ordering for the both of them.
"Right away sir." The man said and walked away.
Ryoma and Sakuno conversed and laughed at their inside jokes. When dinner was over they headed back to the car and just sat there in the dark. "Thank you so much." Sakuno whispered, "Today was just wonderful."
Ryoma squeezed his wife's hand. "I'm glad you enjoyed it."
Sakuno smiled and leaned over to the driver's seat and kissed her husband. "Happy anniversary, Ryoma. Thank you for being with me for five years."
Ryoma smirked and gentle tugged her arm so he could kiss her again. "Thank you for not leaving this tennis fanatic."
Sakuno giggled and kissed her husband. "I didn't get you anything." Sakuno said pursing her lips but then her eyes lit up, "Let's go home."
"Oh?" Ryoma said with his brow rising, "What's at home?"
"A se-cr-et." Sakuno said with an adorable wink.
Ryoma ran his hand through his hair. "Alright."
Sakuno pulled out her phone and waited for the person to answer. "What's up?" The person answered.
"Do you think it's okay if the kids sleepover tonight?" Sakuno asked.
Ryoma eyed Sakuno curiously.
"Of course! Have fun Sakuno-Chan~!"
Sakuno hung up the phone and looked straight not making eye contact with his husband because she knew that if she did, he would try to get the information out of her.
An Hour Later At the Echizen Residence
Sakuno pulled Ryoma into the house and sat him down in the living room on the couch. She pulled off Ryoma's tie and tied it over his eyes like a blindfold. "You must not take this off understood?" Sakuno said, "If you do, you won't get your surprise."
Ryoma nodded his head. "Alright."
Sakuno smiled and kissed her husband's forehead and headed up stairs to their bedroom. Sakuno opened their closet and quickly rummaged through all her clothes and smiled when she finally found what she was looking for. Sakuno removed the dress and slipped the other one on. She tied it and smiled. She slipped on the black stockings and black polished Mary Janes and smiled. "I'm surprised it still fits after five years!" Sakuno said amaze as she twirled.
She smiled and headed down the stairs.
Ryoma's P.O.V
I waited patiently as I could hear Sakuno upstairs probably looking through the closet for something. I wonder what it was that she was getting. I smirked remembering the French maid outfit that she had worn for our honeymoon. I chuckled remembering her bright red face. She was so adorable I couldn't help myself. My ears perked up at the sound of clicking of…heels? "Sakuno?" I said.
"I'm here." Sakuno said in her angelic voice.
God I loved her voice. I loved everything about her. The clicking sound was getting closer. I felt a pair of small arms wrap around my neck and then I felt Sakuno sitting on me. I wrapped my arms around what I thought was her waist and I could feel something feeling like silk and something frilly. "Can I look now?" I asked feeling excited.
I could Sakuno shift her position and I could feel her lips on my ear. "Guess what your surprise is."
"Can I have a hint?" I asked.
"I am your hint." She said boldly.
I chuckled. "Hmmm…have I seen you in what you're wearing?" I asked.
"Yes." She whispered in my ear.
I smiled. "French maid." I said.
I could feel Sakuno trying to untie the tie. I waited patiently until it was finally free and I opened my eyes and my jaw dropped.
Regular P.O.V
Sakuno had put on a crimson lip stick and put her hair up into an irresistible messy bun with wisps of hair that made her face look irresistible. Not to mention the outfit. She looked simply gorgeous. "What do you think?" Sakuno asked giving her husband a twirl.
Ryoma stood up and grabbed his wife and brought her on the couch. Sakuno smiled. "What would you like me to do for you master? Your wish is my command." Sakuno said.
Ryoma smirked.
