Just gonna get right into the story.
Here's Chapter 20.
Chapter 20: New Fusion Monsters
July 15, 20XX 13:50
"So this chick's name is Layla Dangersoul?" asked Mark.
"According to her dog tags, yes." said Billy.
"How close are we to the Cul-de-sac?" asked Jason.
"We shouldn't be that far away now. Take a left!" yelled Serah.
The three of them turned their vehicles left and saw the Cul-de-sac in the distance. Billy, who was taking care of Layla with Nano Eddy, kept covering some of her wounds while Nano Eddy tried to stop the bleeding with his healing power. "Hey, can you guys pick up the speed? At this rate, she's going to die before we even get close to the Cul-de-sac."
Jason moved his hover board closer to the ship. "Give her to me." said Jason. "The hover board has a speed boost mechanic built into it. I'll be able to get there faster than you guys."
"Alright. Just be careful with her. Don't drop her!" said Billy. He then picked up Layla and brought her over to the edge of the hovercar. Billy lifted her up a little and Jason pulled her onto the hover board.
Jason pulled her onto the hover board quickly and held onto her; he slammed his foot on a panel on the hover board and the hover board moved ahead of the other vehicles. The hover board was going a lot faster than Jason expected and he wound up having to use both hands to keep Layla from flying off it. As soon as he was a few meters from the giant wall of boxes that surrounded the Cul-de-sac, he slammed the panel with his foot again and the hover board began to decelerate slowly. "Fuck. At this rate I'm going to crash."
Jason looked around and saw some part of the street that had been ripped out of the ground and now looked like a ramp made out of asphalt. An idea began to form in his head and steered the hover board towards it. "I hope this works."
Jason knelt down and grabbed Layla with one hand and the edge of the hover board with the other hand. He closed his eyes tight as the hover board moved up the street ramp and flew into the air. He felt the wind hitting his face and a little weightless as he flew over the wall. Jason heard some people shouting and he opened his eyes as the hover board began to fall out of the sky. The first thing he noticed while he was falling was that the area where he was going to land had a group of civilians and the second thing he noticed was that he was going to hit them.
"Heads up! Get out of the way!" shouted Jason. The civilians looked up and saw Jason and the hover board; they then began to move out of the way screaming just before the hover board landed.
When the hover board landed, it hit the ground hard enough for Jason to hear a part of it break. He cussed and turned the hover board towards a tree so that the hover board would collide with it, but just before the hover board crashed Jason grabbed Layla and leapt off the hover board. He heard a loud bang as he rolled into a bush.
"Ow. My back. Stupid move." Jason crawled out of the bush and found himself surrounded by multiple Urban Rangers, who all had their weapons aim at him. "Oh shit." said Jason.
"Drop your weapons and identify yourself!" yelled one of the Rangers who was pointing a rifle at him.
The Urban Ranger had a red bandana on his head and had a red vest with a blue shirt underneath it along with red sweatpants; a design only second-class Urban Rangers wore.
"Look, I'm not here to cause trouble." said Jason.
The Urban Ranger scoffed and pointed at the hover board, which was now broken and had smoke coming out of it. "Really? Cuz judging by your entrance, I'd say you're here to do just that. Now drop your weapons!"
'I don't have time for this, dammit.' Jason looked at the bush and saw Layla was still wrapped in the blanket. "Listen, I have someone that's wounded and needs medical attention now."
The Ranger looked at the bush and saw the blanket. "Well then tell us who is it that's hurt."
Jason looked at the bush again and sighed. "Her name is Layla Dangersoul, okay?"
A majority of the Rangers lowered their weapons a little and looked at each other nervously. The leading Ranger on the other hand, got a little bit closer and glared at Jason. "You're lying. She's been missing for days now. There's no way she could-" he got a clear view of what was in the bush and saw that Layla was indeed with him. A look of shock appeared on his face before he turned to look at another Ranger. "Get a medical unit over here."
The Urban Ranger nodded and ran towards one of the houses. After a few seconds the Urban Ranger came back with two KND operatives following behind him carrying a stretcher. Jason picked Layla up gently and helped carry her to the stretcher. The operatives then rushed back into the house with Layla on the stretcher.
Jason looked around and saw that all the Urban Rangers were starting to walk away. The leading Urban Ranger had dismissed them and was now walking over to him.
"Hey, what's your name?" asked the Ranger.
"My name is Jason Halenriser." said Jason.
"You're one of the Subjects. Never thought I would meet another of you people. My name is Milton Musclewarrior, Captain of the Zeta Squad. Layla is one of my two partners in the squad."
Jason raised an eyebrow at this statement. "Okay, there two things I want to say. First, three more Subjects should be arriving at the gateway in soon. They're with me and I would really appreciate it if you guys let them in."
Milton nodded his head. "Okay then." He picked up a walkie-talkie he had attached to his belt and turned it on. "Gate Sentinels, there should be three humans arriving at the gate soon. Let them in."
"Yes sir, Captain Musclewarrior."
He then turned off the walkie-talkie and put it back on his belt. "What else do you want to say?" asked Milton.
"Why did you call off the other Rangers?" asked Jason.
"You brought Layla here. Though I do not completely trust you, I trust you enough to dismiss the others." said Milton.
Jason narrowed his eyes. "You think I had something to do with her disappearance, don't you?"
"You come into this place with a girl who has been missing for three days, and yes we did try looking for her, and is injured, and you don't expect us to be a little suspicious?"
"Good point."
There was a loud scraping sound coming from the entrance of the Cul-de-sac and saw Billy, Mark, and Serah walk into the fortress made of boxes. Billy was the first to see Jason and began to run towards him with Mark and Serah not far behind him. Jason ran over to meet them.
"Is she alright?" asked Billy.
"I'm not sure yet. A couple medics came by and picked her up." Jason turned to Milton. "Milton, these are Billy Airborneammo, Mark Aozora, and Serah Ushio. Also known as Subject 002, Subject 003, and Subject 004. I am Subject 001. Billy, Mark, Serah, this is Milton Musclewarrior; one of Layla's partners."
Serah's face turned from a happy expression to an angry one. "Is that so? Well, I've got something I'd LOVE to ask you." Serah walked over to him and punched him in the face, knocking him backwards and causing him to fall as he tripped over a box on the ground. "IF SHE'S YOUR PARTNER, WHY THE FUCK WAS SHE IN THE A BUSH BASICALLY BLEEDING TO DEATH!?"
Jason and Mark grabbed her to try to hold her back. "Serah, calm down!" shouted Mark.
"I thought you Urban Rangers never left your partners behind! What, were you being overrun by monsters and you left her for dead? Answer me, dammit!"
She began to break free of Jason and Mark's grip on her as she struggled to get free. Mark looked over his shoulder at Billy. "A little help would be nice, Billy."
"How can I help?" asked Billy.
"Just help us hold her back! Hurry!"
Billy ran over and wrapped his arms around her and tried to hold her back with Jason and Mark.
Milton got to his feet and looked down. "It's partially my fault Layla's like that. We didn't want to leave her behind, but we had no choice. If we stayed there, they would have killed us."
Serah calmed down a little and glared at Milton. "You mean the new Fusion Monsters, don't you."
Milton walked towards the house the operatives came out of and opened the door to it. "Come with me. I'll bring you to the medical area and I'll explain what happened once we find our other partner, Sky AftershockAuburn." He walked inside and the four Subjects followed him inside.
"You know, this house seems a little too small to fit dozens and dozens of people into. What do you do, shove anyone who dies in the garage?" asked Serah in a mocking tone.
Mark punched Serah in the arm and glared at her. "Not funny, Serah."
Serah rubbed her arm and followed everyone inside. "Ow. Okay, can you stop doing that?" she asked with a hint of irritation in her voice.
"I'll only stop when you stop making stupid and inappropriate jokes." said Mark.
"That's probably not going to change anytime soon, Mark." said Jason.
Serah crossed her arms and smiled with her eyes closed. " I have the right to make any kind of joke I want."
"Like hell you do. Billy, come on man. Help a guy out with this." said Mark.
"Please leave me out of this." said Billy.
Mark looked at Jason "Jason?"
"I've said my share of words in this. Besides, I'm pretty sure you're the only one irritated by her jokes." said Jason.
Mark groaned and Serah began to snicker.
"Are you four always this… odd?" asked Milton.
"Sometimes. Most of the time we try to act as serious as we can manage." said Jason.
"I see." said Milton.
Billy looked around the house as he and the others followed the Urban Ranger. "Hey, where is everybody? Shouldn't there be, you know, medics, doctors, nurses, and patients around here? This is the medical area, right?"
Milton nodded his head. "It is. The house is just a cover up though." He stopped in front of a wall and put his hand on it. As soon as he did that, a panel appeared and began to scan his hand. Once the panel was done scanning his hand, the wall moved aside to reveal a large elevator.
"Well this is quite the surprise." said Jason.
Everybody stepped into the elevator and Milton pressed a button with the number 8 on it. The elevator door closed and it began to descend into the earth. Milton looked at his watch and saw a message on it. "Looks like I am going to have to leave you four to Sky. I just got called up to investigate an unstable area with two temporary partners."
"That's alright. I still want to talk to you about some things though, but I guess that can wait." said Jason.
Fusion Grim stood in front of a portal leading to Fuse's lair, surrounded by dozens of odd green pods. Each of the pods were filled with Fusion Matter and had orbs in them.
"Lord Fuse, the pods have been completed. They are ready for transport and rebirth." said Fusion Grim bowing.
Fuse's voice could be heard from the other side of the portal. "Good work, Reaper. Now, I have a second assignment for you."
A bunch of human-like Fusion Monsters came out of the portal and began carrying the pods into the portal.
"Tell me the mission and I will carry it out." said Fusion Grim.
"Your mission is to destroy the Peach Creek Suburbs base known as "The Cul-de-sac." I take it that you are aware of the base's location." said Fuse.
"That is correct, my Lord. What creatures should I bring with me?"
"The local creatures of that area are the Newsprint Ninjas, therefore you shall use an army of them to attack. I shall also supply you with multiple Newsprint Jōnin to assist you in this battle."
"Understood, my Lord." said Fusion Grim as the last pod was brought through the portal.
"Do not fail me, Reaper." The portal then closed and four large Newsprint Jōnin stepped out of the shadows.
Fusion Grim looked at them all and tapped his scythe against the floor. "Alright. Go gather as many Newsprint Ninjas as you can and bring them back here. We attack at dawn." The four Fusion Monsters nodded and ran out the door leading outside.
The elevator had been traveling underground for nearly 3 minutes before it reached it's destination. When the door opened and Jason, Billy, Mark, and Serah all stepped out of the elevator, they were greeted by a tall boy who was wearing a lab coat and had a yellow bandana around his neck.
"Everyone, this is Sky Aftershockauburn. He is the other member our small group." said Milton.
"Nice to meet you all." Sky said smiling.
"He's basically the medic in our group, but just because he is the medic that does not mean we need to protect him all the time." said Milton.
"I can handle myself in a fight. I mainly use a sword but I do use a gun when I need to so I don't need protecting." said Sky.
"Sky, can you take over from here? I have to go do a mission." said Milton.
"Sure thing."
Milton grinned. "Thanks, man."
He then hit a button in the elevator and the doors closed. Jason walked over to Sky and held out his hand. "Hi. My name's Jason."
Sky crossed his arms and looked at all four of them closely. "I know who you all are. Listen, I don't want you causing any trouble down here, got it? This is a hospital, not a playground."
Jason tilted his head a little. "Um… okay?" said Jason.
"Hey, how is it that you guys managed to build this place anyways?" asked Mark.
Sky looked over at Mark. "Let's just say it took a lot of Dexbots, Mandroids, Plumbers, and Urban Rangers, okay? I don't want to go into details."
"Look, can you just take us to see Layla already? I'm worried about her." said Serah.
Sky stared at the four of them for a minute before turning around and walking away. "Follow me." he said.
The four heroes all followed behind him like they were told. Billy ran up to Jason and walked by his side. "What's with him? We haven't done anything to him, so why is he acting like we are the enemy?" whispered Billy.
"I don't know. I'll talk to him later about it." whispered Jason. "Let's just keep moving and see how this all plays out."
Billy looked at some of the rooms that were open and he saw some of the wounded patients in the hospital. "Alright. I just hope we don't wind up getting put in here, know what I mean?"
Jason nodded his head. "Yeah. I agree. I'd hate to be stuck down here. It's nice and all, just not for me though."
"Not a fan of hospitals?"
"No I just don't like the idea of being trapped in a hospital room underground where I can die a slow and painful death if the ceiling collapses."
Billy shuttered at the thought of that happening. "I see what you mean."
"Let's just hope that nothing bad happens while we are down here. No attacks from Fusions, no cave ins, just nothing that can cause problems for any of us."
Billy sighed and rubbed the back of his neck. "With our luck, that may not happen."
"I know, Billy. I know."

It took me longer than I thought to make this, mainly because I have been busy and I am rereading my older chapters.
Chapter 21 may take a while to put out due to some issues in real life, but they should be solved quickly and I will post Chapter 21 when it is ready.
I already know what the next chapter will be about so it shouldn't be that hard to make.

Here's something for you readers. As of now, I am taking requests to put a character that you, the player/reader, had made and used in FusionFall. Add the name of your character in the review and I will do my best to add them in. Whether they have big roles or not is up to me, but I will try to have them appear in the fanfic.
I will not use things from things like Pokémon and other franchises, and do not tell me their clothes. Just tell me the name, (and if you want me to describe them more) the way they look, and their personality (I will try my best to work with that).
