5x14 The Point of Regret

INT- BOWMAN'S HOUSE- KITCHEN- MORNING. GRACE, wearing a white sweater with black jeans and black heels, walks in to see KATHLEEN, wearing a blue sweater and black sweatpants, sat at the table.

GRACE: Good morning mom.

KATHLEEN: Good morning, Grace. You're going off to school already?

GRACE: Yeah. I want to get some work done before I leave school early.

KATHLEEN: You're leaving early? Why?

GRACE: I…I actually wanted…to go visit Grant.

Kathleen worriedly looks at her daughter.

KATHLEEN: Grace…I don't think that's a good idea. Grant has anger issues.

GRACE: I know mom, but…Grant used to be my friend. I just want to check up on him.

Kathleen shakes her head with a sigh.

KATHLEEN: Okay…but someone should go with you.

GRACE: I already got you. I have Adrian and Lauren going with me.

KATHLEEN: Okay, but please…be careful, sweetie.

GRACE: I will, mom.

INT- BOYKEWICH'S HOUSE- BEN'S BEDROOM- MORNING. BEN, wearing a black sweater with black slacks and black dress shoes, picks up his car keys off of his bed.

CHLOE, wearing a black leather jacket and blue blouse with black jeans and black flats, walks in with wonder on her face.

CHLOE: Um…good morning.

BEN: Good morning.

CHLOE: Um…Camille told me to ask you to give me a ride to school on my first day.

BEN: Uh…sure. I didn't know today was going to be your first day. It's only been two weeks since you've been with us.

CHLOE: That's what I told your parents, but…they insist I start back school now. I really don't mind, though.

BEN: Okay…well, I'll be ready soon.

Chloe nods her head with a slight smile and walks out of Ben's room

At the same time, LEO walks in with a smile.

LEO: Morning, Benjamin.

BEN: Morning, dad. You didn't tell me Chloe's first day would be today.

LEO: What do you mean? We talked about at dinner the other night.

BEN: We did?

LEO: You don't remember?

BEN: No, I must have totally forgotten.

LEO: Well, yes. This is Chloe's first day of being back at school. I need you to make sure she's alright today.

BEN: No problem, dad.

LEO: And…I need you to take Chloe out somewhere.

Ben looks at father in disbelief.

BEN: Dad…she's technically my sister.

Leo quickly shakes his head.

LEO: No, Ben. I didn't mean take her out on a date. I just want you two to bond.

BEN: Well, we're bonding…

LEO: Ben…every time you two are by each other, she tries to make conversation, but you basically dismiss her.

BEN: Well, dad. It's not really easy for me to just jump into the big brother role. She's only been my sister for two weeks.

Leo shakes his head with a sigh.

LEO: I understand, Ben. This will take you a much slower time than Camille and I. But, can you at least try to develop a bond with her?

Ben looks away and nods his head.

BEN: Fine.

LEO: Thank you, son.

His father walks away, leaving Ben shaking his head in disbelief.

EXT- COLLEGE CAMPUS- FOOTBALL FIELD- MORNING. JACK, wearing a short-sleeved light blue shirt with blue jeans and blue sneakers, and MADISON, wearing a short-sleeved red shirt with blue jeans and red flats, are sat on the bleachers kissing as no one else is on the football field.

The two let go of each other and smile at each other.

JACK: I feel like we're still in high school.

MADISON: Well, I am still in high school. But Jack…I'm really getting tired of having to sneak around.

Jack looks down to his feet as he shakes his head. He looks back up to Madison with uncertainty.

JACK: I'm sorry, Madison. It's just…I love football.

MADISON: I know you do, but this sneaking around is really getting to me. I'm just tired of it, Jack.

JACK: I wish we didn't have to do this, but the coach might kick me off if he finds out I'm dating his rival's daughter.

MADISON: Don't you think he'll eventually find out?

JACK: Yeah. But…I don't know.

Madison looks at him in disbelief as she shakes her head.

MADISON: You don't think we'll be together for that long?

Jack looks away with shame on his face.

MADISON: I can't believe you, Jack.

She quickly stands up and runs away as Jack watches her.

Voice: So, you're dating Madison Cooperstein?

Jack whips his head around to see Coach Carter walking towards him with an angered face.

JACK: Coach! Uh…

COACH: How dare you be dating her! You know that I do not like her father.

JACK: Coach, I didn't mean-

COACH: Shut it, Pappas! You're…you're off the team!

He walks away angrily, leaving a disbelieved Jack.

INT- JUERGEN'S HOUSE- KITCHEN- MORNING. AMY, wearing a short-sleeved green shirt with black sweatpants and black flats, walks in with JOHN next to her and they see ANNE feeding ROBBIE at the table.

AMY: Good morning.

ANNE: Good morning.

AMY: Ooo! What's that you're feeding Robbie?

ANNE: Oatmeal.

AMY: Is there any left for me to cook?

ANNE: Oh, you don't have. I made aN extra bowl for John already. It's in the microwave.

AMY: Okay. John, go sit down, baby.

John walks around Anne and sits down next to her as Amy walks towards the microwave.

ANNE: Katelyn called a few minutes ago. I told her you were still sleep.

Amy opens the microwave and reaches for the bowl.

AMY: Oh. Well, why did she call?

She pulls the bowl out and closes the microwave door.

ANNE: She wanted to talk to you about graduating on time.

AMY: Oh…no.

ANNE: What?

AMY: I'm going to graduate on time.

ANNE: Why do you say that? You might still-

AMY: No, mom. You remember what happened with Adrian. She had to do summer school.

She walks to John and sets his bowl in front of him with the spoon already inside.

AMY: I can't believe this.

ANNE: Alright, calm down, Amy. Everything will work itself out.

AMY: Yeah…maybe you're right.

ANNE: Just call Katelyn and see what she says.

Amy nods her head as their home phone rings. She quickly picks it up and answers it, holding it to her ear.

AMY: Hello?

INT- DR. FIELD'S OFFICE- MORNING. RICKY, wearing a short sleeved white shirt with black jeans and black sneakers, has his phone to his ear with wonder on his face.

RICKY: Uh…hello Amy.

AMY: Oh…hi Ricky.

RICKY: How are you?

AMY: I'm…doing better. What about you?

RICKY: I'm doing alright. I just wanted to see if maybe I can come by and spend some time with you and John. Maybe we can play some board games or something.

Amy begins to smile as she looks at a smiling Anne.

AMY: Okay…John would love that…and me too. It's been a while since we've spent some family time together.

RICKY: Great.

He hangs up the phone as Amy does the same. Both of them smile at their phones.

Ricky's face slowly turns into disbelief and he turns around to look at DR. FIELDS who is sat in his chair.

INT- GRANT HIGH- HALLWAYS- NOON. LAYLA, wearing a red blouse with black pants and black heels, is shuffling through her locker. She quickly closes it and turns around, only to see a smirking ETHAN, who is wearing a black leather jacket and white tee shirt with blue jeans and black sneakers.

ETHAN: Hey.

LAYLA: Hi.

ETHAN: So…what did you think about our date the other night?

LAYLA: Amazing…like always.

The two smile at each other and lean in for a kiss. BRIAN, wearing a short-sleeved white collar shirt with black pants and black suedes, walks up to them with a worried face in the same moment.

BRIAN: Ethan. Kathy.

The two turn to him as Ethan smirks.

ETHAN: We were kind of doing something, Brian.

BRIAN: Oh, sorry.

LAYLA: It's okay. But what's wrong? You look worried.

BRIAN: I am. Kathy needs some food at home. Her grandmother went grocery shopping, but had a doctor appointment first.

LAYLA: Well, I'm sure she'll be fine until then.

BRIAN: I can't take that risk. I've gotta get to her somehow.

ETHAN: Whoa. Déjà vu…

BRIAN: What?

ETHAN: You remind me of how Ben Boykewich used to be. Amy told me how Ben used to act towards her when she was pregnant with her son.

BRIAN: What are you saying?

LAYLA: He's saying you are acting just like Ben with Kathy. You and Kathy ARE Ben and Amy.

Ethan shrugs his shoulders as him and Layla walk away, leaving a confused Brian.

On the other side of the hallway, Chloe stands at her locker with an emotionless expression. She turns to see Ben walk up to her with a slight smile.

BEN: Hey. How were your first classes?

CHLOE: Okay, I guess. I had Biology and I had to dissect a weird smelling pig.

BEN: Ahh…you have Ms. Petroni. She has an animal dissection every two months.

CHLOE: Yeah, I heard. But couldn't she find an animal that doesn't smell like it's been dead for 3 years?

He smirks at her as she does the same.

BEN: So, I was wondering…do you maybe want to hang out…after school?

Chloe worriedly looks at him.

CHLOE: Uh…I don't know. Have you told your father?

BEN: Yeah, he knows.

CHLOE: Okay…well, yeah.

BEN: Okay. Well, I'll see you later.

He walks away, leaving a worried Chloe.

INT- DR. FIELD'S OFFICE- NOON. Ricky is sat on the sofa as Dr. Fields is sat in his chair.

DR. FIELDS: So, why did you want to meet with me so early, Ricky?

RICKY: Well…the other day, when you had left the Butcher Shop…my dad came to me.

Dr. Fields looks at him in shock.

DR. FIELDS: Really?

RICKY: Yes. And I don't even know why or how he found out where I lived.

DR. FIELDS: Well, what did he say?

RICKY: He said…he said he…he has cancer.

DR. FIELDS: Do you think he's telling the truth?

RICKY: I…I don't know.

EXT- VOLBERG'S HOUSE- NOON. Grace, ADRIAN, wearing a brown jacket and red blouse with brown pants and red heels, and LAUREN, wearing a green sweater with blue jeans and black flats, shut Adrian's car doors and begin walking towards the front door of Grant's House.

Grace knocks on the door with a nervous smile. She looks to Adrian and then Lauren.

ADRIAN: How do you even know Grant's here? He might be in a mental institution.

GRACE: Adrian…I called his father. He's here.

The door opens and Grant's mother, CARRIE, stands at the door with a slight smile.

CARRIE: Hello Grace.

GRACE: Hi. Um, I'm here to see Grant. My friends just wanted to tag along.

LAUREN: No, we didn't.

ADRIAN: You called us.

Grace simply smiles at Carrie.

EXT- VOLBERG'S HOUSE- NOON. Carrie, Grace, Adrian, and Lauren walk in to see GRANT, wearing a short-sleeved grey shirt with black sweatpants, sat on the sofa watching television.

GRACE: Hello Grant.

He quickly turns his head to see the four of them now within feet from him.

Grant looks at her in disbelief.

GRANT: Grace…

GRACE: How are you?

GRANT: I'm doing…fine.

CARRIE: I'll be in the kitchen making tea.

She walks away, leaving them with Grant.

ADRIAN: So, all you do now is eat, sleep, and watch TV?

GRANT: I do my school work too.

LAUREN: Oh, you're being home schooled now?

GRANT: Yes.

GRACE: That's good…right?

GRANT: I guess. Only thing is, I can't be the valedictorian here.

Grace looks down at her feet.

GRACE: I'm sorry.

ADRIAN: That's your fault.

Grace turns to her with disbelief.

GRACE: Adrian.

LAUREN: She's right, Grace. He made the decision to ape on you at school.

GRACE: Yeah, but-

GRANT: No…they're right, Grace.

She looks at him in wonder.

GRANT: I shouldn't have done that, Grace. I was completely wrong for that.

Grace slightly nods her head at him.

GRANT: I had my own issues going on...and I regret what all I did to you. I was just angry…about everything.

ADRIAN: Why were you so angry?!

LAUREN: Yeah! Grace didn't do anything to you!

GRACE: Yes, I did!

Adrian and Lauren look at her in disbelief as Grace looks at Grant.

GRACE: You're still angry that I cheated on you with Daniel.

Grant slowly nods his head.

GRACE: I'm so sorry.

GRANT: No. I should've just moved on. It's my fault.

GRACE: Don't say that. It is not your fault.

LAUREN: Okay…look, both of you have done some terrible things.

ADRIAN: Yeah...but the past is the past. Yeah, it hurts…but…maybe you two can move past this.

Grant nods his head as Grace does the same.

INT- COLLEGE CAMPUS- JACK'S DORMROOM- NOON.

Jack is typing on his laptop while his phone sits next to it. He looks at it and stops typing. He shakes his head and stands up from his chair. He makes his way towards his bed and plops down on it while his football is next to him. He grabs it and stares at it just as a knock goes on his door.

JACK: Come in!

The door opens and JASON, wearing a black sweater with beige pants and beige sneakers, walks in with a water bottle in his hand.

JASON: Hey.

JACK: Hey.

Jason walks over to Jack's chair and sits down on it. He rolls over to Jack with disbelief on his face.

JASON: I can't believe Coach kicked you off the team.

JACK: Yeah. Me neither. But…he did.

JASON: He told me and the rest of the team about why he kicked you off. I don't think its right, dude.

JACK: I agree, but…he made it clear that if one of us dates Madison, he'll kick us off the team.

JASON: Well, what are you going to do?

Jack shakes his head.

JACK: God. I don't even know.

JASON: Maybe you should try to talk to him.

JACK: It's not going to work.

JASON: Well…what about Madison's dad? Ask him and see if he can do something about the rivalry between him and Coach.

Jack intently stares at his football.

INT- KATHY'S HOUSE- LIVING ROOM- NOON. KATHY, wearing a brown sweater with blue jeans, is sat on her sofa writing in a notebook. The doorbell rings and she quickly looks up towards the door. She drops the notebook and walks towards the door. When she opens it, she looks at the person in shock. Standing at the door is DON, her baby's father, who is smirking at her.

KATHY: Don…

DON: Hello Kathy.

KATHY: What are you doing here?

DON: I came to see you.

KATHY: Why?

DON: You're my baby's mother. Now, are you going to let me in?

KATHY: No…I can't let you in. My grandmother isn't even home!

DON: Back in Texas, you let me in when your parents weren't home.

KATHY: Yeah. And look what happened because of that!

DON: Look! I'll be back soon when you've calmed down. But we need to talk, Kathy.

He walks away from the door and down the driveway. Kathy watches him in anger and shock as he begins walking down the sidewalk and she quickly closes the door.

INT- DR. FIELD'S OFFICE- NOON. Ricky is still sat on the sofa as Dr. Fields is still sat in his chair.

DR. FIELDS: So explain to me why you're so angry that your father is back. I thought you had moved on from your past with your father.

RICKY: I did. I just…I don't know.

DR. FIELDS: You know what I think?

RICKY: What?

DR. FIELDS: I think you have moved on from your past with your father. But…deep down…you still want to have a father-son relationship with him.

Ricky looks at him in disbelief and shakes his head.

RICKY: No, it's not that. I know it's not that.

DR. FIELDS: How can you be so sure?

RICKY: I just am. I don't need him in my life.

DR. FIELDS: I think you do, Ricky.

Ricky looks at him angrily.

RICKY: No, I don't.

DR. FIELDS: Just think about it, Ricky. You have always wanted a father in your life. And yes, you do have Sanjay. But…it just isn't enough for you. So, in an attempt to fill the void, you tried to act like Leo is your father…but he's not, Ricky.

Ricky shakes his head in disbelief as tears begin to form in his eyes.

DR. FIELDS: Ricky…Bob is your father. And yes, he has done terrible things to you in the past. But I believe…you two can move past that and finally share that father-son bond that you're supposed to have.

RICKY: So what are you saying? I should call him and just let him waltz back into my new life?!

DR. FIELDS: I'm recommending that you should give him a chance.

Ricky looks away from him in wonder.

INT- COOPERSTEIN'S HOUSE- LIVING ROOM- AFTERNOON. Madison walks in to see her father, MORGAN, sat on the sofa with Jack next to him as they laugh.

MADISON: Jack? What are you doing here?

JACK: I talked to your dad about what happened with Coach.

MORGAN: Yeah, and it's hilariously crazy on the Coach kicking Jack off the team for dating you.

Jack stands up and steps to Madison.

JACK: Look, Madison…

MADISON: Save it. I'm still mad at you.

MORGAN: Madison, calm down. Look, I'll talk to your coach. Okay Jack?

MADISON: Wait. How did the rivalry start between you and him?

MORGAN: Well…one day when your mom was pregnant with you, we went on a date and I went to use the restroom…but when I came back, the Coach was at our table trying to talk to her. Then, when I told him to back off, he tried to fight me.

JACK: Oh…

MADISON: Wow…mom had two guys fighting over her.

MORGAN: Then, since we live in the same city, we've seen him a few times. So, a few months later, your mother and I were at the grocery store, he bumped into us with his cart. He noticed the baby bump your mom was showing too.

JACK: What?

MORGAN: Yeah. And then he tried to make a pass at her again and try to fight me again, but security got him before he could land a punch. While he was being pulled away by them, he vowed to me that he'll never get along with me.

MADISON: Okay. Really? He's mad at us because mom liked you more? Ugh! I can't believe it.

Jack shakes his head.

JACK: That's not right. I should go say something to him.

Morgan stands up and shakes his head.

MORGAN: No, I can handle him, Jack. He wants to take his anger out on you two for what happened many years ago.

JACK: Thanks, Mr. Cooperstein.

Morgan nods his head at him.

INT- JUERGEN'S HOUSE- KITCHEN- AFTERNOON. Amy holds her phone to her ear as she paces back and forth.

AMY: Please, pick up…please pick up.

Voice: Hello?

AMY: Hello, Ms. O' Malley.

KATELYN: Oh…hi Amy. How are you today?

AMY: I'm good. What about yourself?

KATELYN: I'm doing well.

AMY: Well, I was calling because my mom told me you called and wanted to talk about me graduating on time.

KATELYN: Yes. We need to talk to about it.

AMY: Okay…

KATELYN: You can graduate on time, Amy!

Amy quickly smiles as she curls some of her dark brown hair behind her ears.

AMY: Really? A-are you sure?

KATELYN: Yes!

AMY: I can't believe this! I'm so happy!

KATELYN: Now, all you have to do is pass the rest of your classes this semester and determine what college you want to attend.

AMY: Wow! Um, okay. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

KATELYN: You are very welcome, Amy. Have a nice day.

AMY: You have a nice day too!

Amy hangs up her phone with joy on her face just as a knock goes on her door. She makes her way to it and quickly opens the door to see Ricky standing there with a smile.

EXT- PARK- AFTERNOON. Ben and Chloe are sat on the bench, eating vanilla ice cream as they watch people walk along the sidewalks in the park.

CHLOE: So, how often do you come here?

BEN: At least once a week. I just love being here…with nature all around me.

CHLOE: Me too. It's so peaceful when you're surrounded by nature.

Ben nods his head at her.

Chloe: So…have you ever came here with someone else?

BEN: Yeah…I actually have. I came here with my ex-girlfriend, Amy, once.

CHLOE: Oh. Why'd you two break up?

BEN: I guess…we just weren't meant to stay together forever. Besides, we had too many arguments all of the time.

CHLOE: Okay. Well, are you dating someone now?

BEN: No.

Chloe looks nervously at him.

CHLOE: Well, is there anyone you would like to date?

Ben nods his head and smiles at her.

BEN: Yeah. But anyways, what do you like to do?

Chloe: I like to read, write…

Ben: Really? Me too.

Chloe: Whoa.

Ben: Yeah. I plan on becoming a famous book author when I received my degree in Literature.

Chloe: Wow…that's…wow.

Ben: Yeah. What do you plan on being when you leave high school?

Chloe: Well…I sort of want to become a therapist.

Ben: Really?

Chloe: Yeah. I used to always mediate between my brothers on who would get to have-

She stops and she quickly looks away nervously.

He looks at her confusedly.

Ben: On who would get to have what?

Chloe: Well, they were just always fighting over everything. And then I used to help my friends with their issues in their lives. And doing that, it makes me happy.

Ben: That's good. And I hope you do become a therapist.

Chloe nods her head at him and the two continue to eat their ice creams.

EXT- VOLBERG'S HOUSE- AFTERNOON. The front door opens and Lauren, Adrian, and Grace walk out, followed by Grant.

Grace stops and turns to Grant with a slight smile.

GRACE: So…it was nice to hanging with you today.

GRANT: Yeah. It was nice to actually see someone other than my parents.

GRACE: Yeah.

ADRIAN: We're gonna go ahead to the car, Grace.

LAUREN: Yeah.

GRACE: Okay.

LAUREN: It was actually…nice to see you again, Grant.

ADRIAN: Yeah. We're sorry about being so mean to you earlier.

GRANT: It's okay, ladies. You had every right to treat me like that.

ADRIAN: No. We should've tried to understand you.

LAUREN: I guess…we shouldn't really judge someone until we know their full story.

Grant nods his head at them.

Adrian and Lauren walk away and towards the car, leaving Grant and Grace slightly smiling at each other.

GRANT: So, are you going to head home after you leave here?

GRACE: Well, we might go grab a bite toe at first.

GRANT: Oh.

GRACE: Yeah…well…is this…goodbye?

GRANT: It doesn't have to be. We can still be friends.

GRACE: Good. I would like that.

Grace leans up and hugs him and he hugs her back.

INT- KATHY'S HOUSE- LIVING ROOM- AFTERNOON. Kathy is sitting on her sofa as Brian is sat next to her rubbing her back with sympathy on his face.

BRIAN: I can't believe he came here.

KATHY: Well, I can. I knew Don was coming back, but I didn't know he was going to show up to my house.

BRIAN: I mean, is he a bad guy?

KATHY: Well…not really…but I don't think he'll be a good father to our baby. He always does all kinds of things with girls. Luckily we got tested for HIV before we had sex.

BRIAN: Kathy…I don't think you should keep the baby from him.

KATHY: Why? He won't be a good father to the baby anyways.

BRIAN: How do you know that, though Kathy? He could've changed his ways by now.

Kathy rolls her eyes at him and shakes her head.

KATHY: I don't think so. And why are you defending him?

BRIAN: I'm not defending him. I just…I don't want you to separate a father from his son.

KATHY: Why?! He didn't even treat me right!

BRIAN: Kathy-

KATHY: You know what? Just go. I don't want to stress the baby out right now.

BRIAN: I don't want you mad at me.

KATHY: I'm not mad at you. I'm just angry about Don right now. I want to be alone right now, okay?

BRIAN: Okay.

He quickly kisses Kathy on the lips and stands up. He walks away and towards the front door as Kathy shakes her head in disbelief.

EXT- COLLEGE CAMPUS- FOOTBALL FIELD- NIGHT. Coach is sat on the benches drinking a can of beer as he holds a football in his hand.

Voice: Coach…Carter!

He looks up to see Morgan walking towards him with a smirk on his face.

Coach looks at him angrily.

COACH: Morgan Cooperstein! What are you doing here?!

MORGAN: I'm here to talk about why you kicked my daughter's boyfriend off your team!

COACH: Look! I warned every teammate not to date her. And what did Jack do?! He started dating her.

MORGAN: What do you expect? Jack loves Madison and she loves him. You know that!

COACH: He should've respected me by not dating her!

MORGAN: Are you nuts?! He obviously respects you. He just doesn't respect what you said.

COACH: It's the same thing!

MORGAN: No, it's not! Can you just drop this petty hate you have for me? We're two grown men. This is ridiculous.

Coach lets out a deep sigh and looks down to his feet. He quickly raises his head at Morgan.

COACH: Fine.

Morgan releases a deep sigh as he nods his head.

MORGAN: Good. So…are you going to let Jack back on the team?

INT- JUERGEN'S HOUSE- LIVING ROOM- NIGHT.

Ricky, Amy, and John are sitting on the living room floor while playing cards and laughing.

RICKY: Ok…got any nines?

Amy shakes her head and giggles.

John: Go fish, daddy.

Ricky laughs and picks up another card from the deck.

AMY: So…how are you doing, Ricky?

RICKY: I'm…doing good.

Amy looks away and back to Ricky.

AMY: Can we talk in the kitchen? I need help to get the board game.

RICKY: Okay.

The two stand up.

AMY: John…can you shuffle the cards?

John: Yes, mommy.

Ricky and Amy walk out of the room.

INT- JUERGEN'S HOUSE- KITCHEN- NIGHT. Ricky and Amy walk into the kitchen and she turns around to him in wonder. She quickly folds her arms as he looks at her in confusion.

RICKY: What?

AMY: What's going on, Ricky?

RICKY: What do you mean?

AMY: Ricky…I've known you long enough to be able to tell that something happened today.

Ricky looks down to his feet.

RICKY: How do you know?

AMY: You've been smiling way too hard tonight…so…what happened?

Ricky looks back up at Amy with a sad face.

RICKY: My dad…

AMY: What about him?

RICKY: He's back.

Amy looks at him in shock.

AMY: Really? Since when?

RICKY: He's been here for a while. He tried to talk to Clementine a couple of months ago.

Amy shakes her head in disbelief.

AMY: Oh my god…why is he even out of prison?

RICKY: I contacted the prison he was held at a few days after and they told me my dad is on parole.

AMY: So…is he safe…to be around?

RICKY: I don't know, Amy. But he came to me the other day.

AMY: What did he do?

RICKY: Nothing. He just…he just t-told me…he's dying of cancer.

Amy looks at him in shock and disbelief.

AMY: Ricky…

RICKY: And I don't know if I-I should believe him, you know!

Amy quickly wraps her arms around Ricky and hugs him tightly. He quickly hugs her back as tears begin to form in his eyes.

INT- COOPERSTEIN'S HOUSE- LIVING ROOM- NIGHT. Jack and Madison are sitting on the sofa as they are looking away nervously.

Madison turns to him in wonder and he does the same.

MADISON: How do you think it went?

JACK: I'm not sure.

He releases a deep sigh and he slightly smiles at her.

JACK: But…whatever happens…I want you to know that-

MADISON: Jack-

JACK: Madison, you were right. I didn't think we would last long enough for Coach to find out…but we did. And, now that it's happened, I realize that…some things, like my football career, are worth losing. But the person you are in love with…is not worth losing.

MADISON: Jack…are you…really in love with me?

Jack nods his head.

JACK: I am, Madison.

She smiles at him.

MADISON: I'm…in love with you two.

Jack begins to lean towards Madison's face. In the same moment, the front door opens, alerting the two.

The door quickly closes and they hear footsteps approaching them. They turn to see Morgan walk in.

MADISON: So?

JACK: What did he say?

Morgan shakes his head.

MORGAN: You're back on the team.

MADISON: Yes!

JACK: Thank god!

Jack and Madison stand up and quickly begin kissing.

MORGAN: So…celebration dinner tonight, you two? It's my treat.

INT- BOYKEWICH'S HOUSE- LIVING ROOM- NIGHT. The front door opens and Chloe walks in, followed by Ben. He shuts the door behind him and the two walk into the living room to see Leo and Camille sat on the sofa drinking glasses of wine.

LEO: Hello you two.

CAMILLE: You've been out all day.

BEN: Yeah. We had fun.

CHLOE: It was nice.

LEO: Where'd you go?

BEN: We went to get ice cream…

CHLOE: Then we went to the park…

BEN: And after that, we drove around town a bit.

CHLOE: And then we went and ate some pizza at a pizza parlor not too far away from here.

CAMILLE: So…I'm guessing you two bonded well today?

BEN: Yes.

CHLOE: Yeah.
