Ty tossed and turned as he tried to fall asleep. It had been somewhat of a rough day for him and his entire pokemon team. Tomorrow they would take the next boat off of Unova and head to Hoenn. The cruise would take at lease three days, and in that time, Ty hoped everyone could relax and calm down, he also hoped to get away from the lopunny tribe. But the words from Sarah kept repeating in his head. "Elderpunny will follow you to the ends of the world to kill a traitor." Ty feared that he may never be able to get rid of Elderpunny, but he had to do something, or at least try.
"Ty?" Angelica spoke up. "Can you sleep either?" She asked.
Ty sighed. "No, why aren't you able to sleep?" Ty asked.
"Well, i feel a little guilty." She confessed.
"Guilty, what for?" Ty asked.
"I feel like i replaced Sarah in your life, that maybe if i wasn't here, you and her would probably be together again." She explained.
Ty brought Angelica close. "Well, the truth of the matter is, if i hadn't met you, i probably wouldn't have met Sarah again in the first place. You didn't replace her Angelica." Ty comforted.
"You say that, but in a way, i don't really believe it." Angelica replied.
"So, how would you want me to prove to you that you didn't replace her?" Ty asked.
"I want an answer." Angelica replied.
"An answer to what?" Ty asked.
"I want the answer to why you're helping me, what about me made you want to help me?" She questioned.
Ty thought it over. "I'm not really sure, i guess i just didn't like seeing you all beat up."
"But after my wounds healed, why did you continue to help me?" Angelica asked.
"You were lost, it only made sense that i helped you. Angelica, believe me, i helped you because you were in need of help, what more do i have to say?" Ty asked.
"Well, whenever i read your journal, you mentioned something about my eyes, that they were like pearls. Are you sure there wasn't another reason you helped me?" Angelica asked.
"Well, the truth is, i may have developed feelings for you after we met." Ty explained sheepishly. Angelica lightly smiled.
"Well, i can't say I'm completely over my quilt, but at least i feel a little better." Angelica replied.
"Good." Ty responded. For a few moments, the two stayed close together, just enjoying the other's company. "You know, I always enjoy these moments of quiet." Ty thought out like loud.
"In a way, i think i do too." Angelica replied.
A figure walked up to the cabin, since it was pretty secluded, There would be a low chance that anyone would interrupt his mission, holding out his paw, a sudden blue ball began to spin and grow in his hand. A sudden eruption blew a huge chunk of the cabin wall apart, opening a path into the cabin.
"What the hell was that?" Ty asked, sitting up.
"Oh no, i think the Elderpunny found us." Angelica panicked. Ty grabbed one of his pokeballs and was about to open it when Angelica grabbed his hand. "Don't bother." She warned. "They wouldn't be able to do anything to him, i'm the only one who knows relatively anything about him." Angelica suggested.
Hopping out of the bed, Angelica made a dash downstairs, despite Ty's calls to tell her to stop. Angelica rushed down the stairs to come face to face with her opponent, but to her surprise, instead of Elderpunny, there was a lucario with a scar down his chest and his front spike missing.
"I'm guessing you're the fugitive i'm supposed to find?" The lucario asked.
Angelica was hesitant to respond. "Who sent you?" She asked.
"Right now, that's not important." The lucario stated as he cracked his knuckles. "If i were you, i would say your final prayer." He advised. In swift movement, the lucario armed his fist and swung at Angelica.
Angelica ducked under the attack and spun around right as the lucario threw a kick. Angelica took the kick to the stomach but managed to recover before she could get hit by an aura ball. Dodging two more aura balls, Angelica tried to throw a punch, but the move was avoided. Lucario grabbed Angelica's arm and put another paw behind her arm and shoved her face into a wall. Angelica stumbled backwards as set of paws grabbed her head. The Lucario pulled back and then slammed his head into Angelica's. Angelica fell back, her vision was blurred from the impact, and it was getting complicated to stay conscious. Angelica felt a paw tighten around her neck as she was picked up off the floor and held her against a wall.
"You're much less of a challenge than the Elderpunny made you out to be." The lucario spoke up. "Here I was all set up for a big fight, and yet you toppled over like stack of sticks." Angelica didn't reply. "To be honest, i'm normally against killing a female of any species, but for the sake of my homeland, i'll have to make an exception." The lucario turned over his paw so that the spike glimmered in the moonlight.
Something hard crashed against lucario's head and he dropped Angelica to the floor. When he turned around, he saw a human holding a broken chair. Based on the look in his eyes, he just realized he made a big mistake. The lucario quickly charged up his fist and punched the human in the stomach, sending him flying through the bar, and knocking him unconscious along the kitchen floor.
"Ty." Angelica called out weakly.
The lucario stared at the human. He decided he would hold his exception off for a few moments and decided to finish off the human first instead. Angelica was on her hands and knees, fighting to keep herself alive. But something was off, her head was woozy and room was spinning around her. She started to feel herself change.
The lucario was nearing the human, readying his spike to deliver the final blow. But a paw on his shoulder flipped him around. It was the lopunny again, but this time she looked different.
The fluff on her ears turned into two bands, and the fluff on her hands had become more round and thick, her legs were covered in black, ripped fur, and her eyes were blood red as compared to the pearl white they were earlier.
"That's my mate you're fucking with." She growled.
In the blink of an eye, a paw was rammed into lucario, instantly knocking the air out of him and causing him to drop to his knees. Lucario looked up at the Lopunny, her eyes showed no signs of mercy, just pure rage. Angelica threw another punch but the lucario managed to get out of the way. Regaining the air in his lungs, the lucario readied himself for the next attack, making sure not to get thrown off guard this time. Angelica charged at him and threw several punches, the lucario barely avoided each of them, when he saw an opening, lucario lunged and tackled angelica to the floor. Angelica guarded herself as the lucario threw several punches at her face. Sliding her feet out from under his waist, Angelica pulled them back and kicked away the lucario. The lucario landed on his feet and recollected his thoughts. It was time for a new strategy.
Angelica once again charged at the lucario, this time he was prepared, as soon as she threw the first punch, lucario moved out of the way and grabbed her arm in mid air. Throwing her over his shoulder, Angelica slammed against the wall. Angelica got back to her feet, but the lucario was already on the move. Arming his spike, the lucario let out a yell as he charged at her.
Angelica closed her eyes as he closed the space between them. The sound of flesh being split apart rang through the air. Angelica slightly opened one of her eyes. In front of her stood another lopunny, holding out her arms to defend Angelica from any harm. The spike had gone through the lopunny's chest, and she was starting to bleed profusely. The lucario removed his spike, and she collapsed to the ground.
"Sarah!" Angelica called out as she kneeled down next to the lopunny. Angelica rolled her onto her back so that she was facing upwards. "Sarah, don't die on me! Stay alive, please!" Angelica begged.
Sarah weakly put a paw on Angelica's shoulder. "Angelica, do something for me." Sarah requested, losing her breath quickly. Angelica took Sarah's paw in her own as tears flooded her eyes. "Never, abandon Ty... Don't do what i did. Promise me you won't do the same."
"I promise." Angelica replied shakily. Sarah nodded and closed her eyes, giving out her last breath. Angelica couldn't move, Sarah had died right in front of her. Angelica's ear fluff started to grow back, and the black fur surrounding her legs started to return back to it's brown shade, the fluff on her arms retracted so that they surrounded her wrist like bracelets. Angelica's breathing became heavy, and she stood to her feet, ready to take the life of the one who took Sarah's, but the lucario had already left.
Angelica felt like she should run after the lucario, but something kept her from moving. Angelica sighed and dropped back down by Sarah's body. Angelica brought up Sarah's body and brought it close. "I'm so sorry." She sobbed. "Why did you have to be involved in this."
Ty groaned and slowly pulled himself to his feet. He observed the huge mess that the cabin had been left in, and then his eyes scanned Angelica. Angelica was weeping over something but Ty couldn't see who it was in the darkness. When Ty stepped closer he nearly instantly recognized the body in Angelica's hands. Dropping to his knees, Ty placed two fingers on the lopunny's neck to check if there was a pulse.
There was none...
Ty put his fingers over his eyes as tears started to flood them. Sarah was gone, she knew how important Angelica was to Ty, so in an act of redemption, she sacrificed herself.
"Ty, i'm so sorry." Angelica weeped. "I don't know what happened, the lucario charged at me and she came out of nowhere and took the attack." Ty didn't respond, but rather, kept his hands over his eyes. Angelica put Sarah's body down and began to stand up. "Elderpunny is going to pay for this." She swore.
Ty quickly put a hand on her shoulder. "No." He ordered. "There's already been enough death for one day. As much as i want revenge as well. I can't even think of losing you, if that lucario killed Sarah, i doubt he would make an exception for you."
"But we can't let him get away with this!" Angelica yelled.
Ty looked at Sarah's body. "We won't." Ty assured. "For now, we'll have a small burial for Sarah, it's the least we can do."
Eon followed the orders that were given to him by Elderpunny. Following a specific set of marks, Eon found himself surrounded by a small group of lopunny's.
"You're my escort?" Eon asked.
One of the lopunny's nodded. "Yes, we are, however, by rules of Elderpunny, we can't really show you the way to our rendezvous." The lopunny explained.
"What do you mean?" Eon asked.
"The Elderpunny has some concerns that he wishes to address, and for now, it would be best if you were to follow orders." He advised.
"Fine, what do you want me to do?" Eon asked.
The lopunny looked at another and nodded, when Eon turned around a fist collided with his skull, knocking him out. When his eyes opened again, he was surrounded by a bigger group of lopunny's, one was by a tree and didn't have any ears. Eon tried to stand up but realized his arms had been restrained by some kind of vine, but it was much more durable and strong.
"What the hell is all this for?" Eon asked.
"We have some concerns about the agreement that we had agreed on." Elderpunny explained.
"I did what you told me, i killed the lopunny." Eon responded, leaving out the detail it was the wrong lopunny.
"Yes, but according to my sources, it was the WRONG lopunny." Elderpunny threw in.
Sweat began to run down Eon's head. "You were spying on me?" He asked.
"We had to make sure the job was done properly. Your objectives were to retrieve the White-eyed lopunny, the human, and his pokemon." Elderpunny recalled.
"You know i have a strict standard against killing females, it's against my morale values." Eon reminded. "You also said that there was another lopunny there I was supposed to kill, i did that part of the job at least."
"Whether you did or you didn't doesn't matter, what matters is that you still haven't finished the job you were assigned." Elderpunny replied.
On looked up at the Elderpunny, before bowing his head and sighing. "What happened to you friend?" He asked. "Have all, those years in a capsule taught you nothing about the value of a life?"
Elderpunny grabbed Eon by his neck fur and brought him close to his face. "What happened to my past is nothing to be brought up again." Elderpunny warned. "As far as either of us is concerned, you just do what i order you the first time, and everything will be fine."
Eon could tell by looking in the Elderpunny's eyes that something was deeply troubling him, something about Angelica was stirring something inside of Elderpunny. "What is it that you need this Lopunny for?" Eon asked. Elderpunny growled and threw eon to the ground on his stomach, getting on top of him, Elderpunny grabbed one of Eon's paw spikes. "W-what are you doing?" Eon asked.
"In my clan we have a rule, we never fail to do what we are told, and just like that lopunny over there, you will have to pay the price for failure." Elderpunny explained. Elderpunny pulled hard on the spike, causing a loud snapping sound to be heard, Eon let out a scream as pain surged through his body. The surrounding Lopunny's cringed at the sound. Blood was leaking onto the grass as Eon laid on the ground, his eyes were closed tight in pain. Elderpunny got up off Eon and held Eon's bloody paw spike in his paw. "Put him with the other failure." Elderpunny ordered.
Eon was dragged over by the tree where the other lopunny with no ears was. He was laid back against the tree and ordered to stay there while under the tyranny on Elderpunny until further prompted to do so. Eon could still feel some of the blood leaking out of where his spike used to be. Looking over, Eon could see that the lopunny looked just as miserable as he was.
"Why are you here?" Eon asked.
"For the same reason you are." Was all she replied with.
"And i'm guessing the reason for your missing ears are of the same reason as well?" Eon asked. The lopunny just nodded. Eon then noticed that the lopunny wasn't tied up in any sort of manner, she instead was in fetal position. "You're not restrained? Why haven't you made a run for it yet?" Eon asked.
"Because if i did, Elderpunny would surely kill me before i could get outside of the 10 foot mark." The lopunny explained.
Eon stared at the lopunny for a second before looking at the night sky. "Well, misery loves company, so i guess since we're in this together. Might as well get used to talking to each other." Eon advised. "Even if it does mean making friends with the enemy."
To be continued...
