CH. 21: Good for a Baby Shower
Andy still had stitches stitched to her chin that Sunday at family dinner and as much as she expected the conversation topic to be centered around her, she was lucky it didn't. She wasn't really paying much attention to the conversation at hand. She was too busy eating and thinking of ways to improve her homemade America Ninja Warrior course. It was still sitting in the backyard where they left it when they had to hurry her to the emergency room, and she planned on returning to it just as soon as she was ungrounded in a weeks time. She thought she heard Pop say something about a fence post, but she ignored it, not even sure who was talking at that very moment until she heard her name being called sharply.
"Andrea," Linda called her when Andy didn't reply.
"Huh," Andy looked up clueless.
"Pop is speaking to you," she chided.
"Sorry Gramps," Andy said in between bites. "I was thinking."
"Must have been something deep," Henry noted. "You seemed to be in another world."
At first, Andy wasn't sure how to respond. She knew she couldn't lie, but she also couldn't tell the truth regarding her plans for her backyard. That would only get her a very stern lecture from her parents.
"Uncle Jamie," Andy looked at him. "You should do America Ninja Warrior." Andy thought of a way that made her comment not centered around the truth, but not exactly a lie either. She was thinking about America Ninja Warrior and when she first started watching the show, she did think her uncle would make an outstanding candidate.
"What?" Jamie dropped his fork against his glass plate. "Are you sure you didn't hit your head when you fell?" Jamie placed a hand, one on each side of her face so he could check her out a bit closely.
"I'm fine Uncle Jamie," Andy moved his hand aside.
"Well your not acting fine when you get crazy ideas like that in your head," Jamie shook his head. Wondering what in the world would even posses her to think something like that.
"I don't think it's a crazy idea," Nicki voiced her opinion.
"Not you to."
"We can make some improvements and you can practice in the backyard," Andy added.
"No he can't," Danny spoke up. "Because you are taking it down just as soon as you get home from school tomorrow." Danny pointed at her with his fork.
"That's not any fun," Andy pouted, crossing her arms in front of her chest.
"It wasn't fun for me when my daughter had to come to my workplace for disobeying me. And what made it worse was when they had to see you behave so badly in the waiting room." Linda took over, with her own form of chastisement.
"I liked this conversation better when it wasn't centered around me," Andy grumbled.
Frank laughed, but came to her rescue when he changed the subject, by asking her father about the case he had been working.

"Andy come with me," Erin called the girl to the stairs.
"What did I do now Aunt Erin?" Andy followed her up the staircase. Running through the day's events trying to determine what she did wrong to warrant a lecture from her aunt.
"Shh," Erin was quick to silence her as she led her into her old bedroom where Nicki was already waiting.
Once behind closed doors, Erin started to explain the reasoning behind the secrecy.
"We want to give your mom and baby Kyle a baby shower and we need your help."
"You want my help?" Andy pointed at herself. She knew that her aunt and cousin had never been anything but kind to her. But she still couldn't help but remember the time she lived with the foster mother that became pregnant and how ugly she and her daughter treated her in getting her so excited by asking for her help with things but then immediately contradicted her and purposely left her out of things like baby showers, nursery organization and shopping for baby clothes.
She also remembered telling Linda about it not long after she found she was going to have another baby and asked for Andy's help. Linda treated her quite the opposite and was constantly asking her opinion on things wanting to keep her involved. What made Andy feel even better was when her parents took her suggestion in naming the baby. Andy smiled to herself when she thought of how things changed since she became a Reagan. And again, she found herself grateful for the night she ran away from Danny Reagan.
"Of course we do," Erin brought her back to the moment at hand.
"But I'm grounded this week," Andy suddenly remembered, when she ran a hand gently over the stitches on her chin.
"We can wait a week till you can help. But you need to try and be good this week so you can get permission to go places with us," Erin warned in a stern tone of voice. Hoping it would sink in to her brothers energetic daughter.
"I will," Andy said quickly. Even if she was wondering just how she was going to manage to do so. And for a whole week at that.
"Just remember it's a secret, so you can't tell her," Erin reminded her.
"What about my Dad? I'm pretty sure I'm going to need his help if my mother is going to let me even get close to walking out the front door."
"She'll be fine as long as you've been good and she knows your with me," Erin assured her. "But it probably would be a good idea to have him in on it.
"Do you think Aunt Linda will like having a baby shower?" Nicki looked at her cousin, still lying on the bed."
"Oh yeah," Andy didn't even to think about that one. "And she has been getting upset pretty easily lately."
"What do you expect when her daughter ends up in the emergency room for doing America Ninja Warrior in the backyard?" Nicki said sarcastically.
"Now don't bring up that again. That's all I've heard for the past two days."
"You two hush and listen," Erin ordered, taking out her phone so she could begin taking notes. "Now I remember her saying she had the crib and bedding picked out.
Do you know what else she needs though?"
"Now you want me to talk?" Andy said sarcastically.
"Andrea, do you want me to ground you myself?" Erin looked at her dumbfounded. Shocked at how quickly her niece forgot about her warning to behave.
"Your the one," Andy started before she was interrupted.
"You are definitely your fathers daughter," Erin let out a sigh.
"Why thank you," Andy grinned.
"Can we please get back to what's important?" Nicki interrupted her mother and cousin. "Or can I go get dessert?"
"Oh!" Andy's attention shifted to something sweet. "Dessert sounds good."
Before Erin even had a chance to stop them, both girls were up and running down the stairs. Following the sweet aroma of strawberry cheesecake.
"I should have known better than to try to plan a baby shower with children."
Erin shook her head, trying to determine how a lawyer such as herself managed to be so quickly manipulated by children and then completely loose her train of thought like she did with her niece.
"That child has a bright future of manipulation and interrogation ahead of her." Erin said to herself as she followed the girls back down the stairs. Knowing she wasn't going to get anything accomplished regarding the baby shower unless she quizzed Linda herself. Being extra careful to be as non conspicuous as possible.
"Are ready for Kyle to make his appearance?" Erin settled onto the sofa next to her sister in law now that they both held their desert in their hands.
"No," Linda sounded tired. "I still have tons to do."
"Like what?" Erin asked curiously. She was more interested in what she needed in baby items. But she certainly cared about her sister in law and enjoyed being able to have girl talk with someone other than a kid like she was use to with Nicki.
"We don't even have a nursery yet. Danny says he's going to do some reconstruction and make a bedroom out of the attic for Andy, but he still hasn't gotten started.
"Oh," Erin was beginning to mentally calculate how much time they had till the baby was born. "At least you have all summer. But hopefully he'll have some time off soon."
"I hope so," Linda agreed. "But you know your brother and his cases."
"Maybe we can all help one weekend like we did before Andy came," Erin suggested.
"That would be nice," Linda sighed. "And on top of all that I still need to get all the basic baby stuff."
"You don't have anything left over from Sean?" Erin tried digging deeper. Hoping she would remember everything Linda said so she would know what to put on the baby registry she was planning to create.
"I have a few blankets and clothes," Linda nodded. "But I thought I was done so I got rid of almost everything."
"Kyle was definitely a surprise," Erin admitted. "But so was Andy."
"Don't I know it," Linda shook her head. Thinking of the chaos the had awaiting them with four children. And of them being Andy.
Erin was about to say something about them being good surprises but she was interrupted by quite a bit of noise in the basement. Followed by her sister in law.
"Danny!" Linda called for her husband. "Go see what the kids are doing!" Linda noticed how loud things were getting downstairs.
"I hear them," Danny grumbled walking in from the kitchen.
"Hey," he nudged his brother. "Let's go play pool."
"That's probably what the kids are doing," Jamie figured.
"And that little brother is the beauty of being the parent. I can kick them out." Danny grinned.
After that, Erin all but gave up on getting anything else from Linda. They had already been interrupted, and there wasn't much of a chance they were going to be able to pick up where they left off.

The following day and Andy, Jack and Sean were bored. It was early afternoon and they had already finished their homework. They were grounded from all forms of electronics leaving the only thing for them to do was fight.
Linda ignored it at first, being too busy doing what she could in the attic. But she eventually grew tired of it and returned to the upstairs hallway where she found Jack and Sean wrestling around the floor and Andy cheering Jack on.
"Andrea!" Linda corrected first of all. "Your the oldest and shouldn't encourage them and instead you should try stopping them."
"Stop them?" Andy sounded confused. "It was my idea."
"Of course it was," Linda sighed, still trying to determine how she was going to separate the two boys. After all she wasn't very strong. It wasn't as difficult before she was pregnant, but now that she was, it wasn't just herself she needed to watch out for.
"Where is your father when I need him?" She mumbled to herself.
"Jack! Sean!" She yelled. "Stop it!"
Both both continued to wrestle, acting as if they didn't even hear her, causing their mother to become flustered. She reached out to grab Jacks arm but it slipped out of her grip. If she wouldn't have been pregnant, she wouldn't have been so careful, and would jerked them both up. But now that she was she knew she needed to avoid losing her balance or taking any direct hits. She was beginning to lose her patience and started to take out her phone to call her husband when Andy spoke them.
"I'll stop them mom," Andy placed a hand on Linda's arm, hoping to keep her from calling their father. Knowing that if Danny had to come, it wasn't likely she would avoid trouble. Even if it wouldn't be as much trouble as her brothers, she didn't think she would be able to obtain permission from her parents to go with Erin the following week.
"Andy if I can't stop them," Linda didn't think there was anything her daughter could do if she couldn't.
"Come on guys," Andy grabbed Sean. "Let's do something else."
In an instant both boys separated. Jack stood, leaning over panting. While Sean remained on the ground, leaning up on his haunches.
"Who won?"
"I don't know," Andy didn't know the answer to that one. "I think it might have been Jack, if not a tie."
"That's enough all of you!" Linda regained her parental control. "What possessed you three to do something like that? And if that wasn't bad enough, you two boys completely ignored me when I was talking to you!"
"We were bored," Sean tried.
"We weren't fighting," Jack explained. "We were just wrestling for fun." Jack was beginning to wish his father would have been there. He would have understood.
Then again, he wouldn't have understood their decision to ignore their mothers plea's.
"Your father gave you a job to do this afternoon," Linda pointed at them sternly. "Now I suggest you get out there and do it."
"But we can't," Andy hated to dismember her backyard course, and she was willing to come up with any excuse not to do so. "We're grounded and can't go outside."
"You can to clean up the backyard," Linda wasn't buying her daughters excuse. "Now go."
"I don't want to do this," Andy complained once they reached the backyard.
"Me neither," Jack agreed. "It was fun."
"We wouldn't have to do this, if you wouldn't have gotten hurt," Sean started to take the rope down.
"We'd have had to do it anyway," Jack argued. "We weren't supposed to go outside in the first place."
"Which is why we're grounded," Andy reminded her youngest brother.
"Hey," Sean noticed something new about the shed that hadn't been there before. "There's a pad lock on the door."
"Wonder what that's about?" Andy tried pulling on it.
"I'll go ask mom," Jack started.
"Better let me," Andy stopped him. "I don't think she's as mad at me as she is you two."
"That's a first," Sean teased.
"Shut-up," Andy shoved him, before running across the yard. "Hey Mom," she walked through the backdoor. "There's a lock on the shed."
"Your Dad put that there," Linda replied, following her through the yard so she could open it. "He said he would take it off once his children start listening and he doesn't have to worry about you three trying to rebuild it."
"Nice to have parents that trust you," Andy said sarcastically.
"Nice to have children that you can trust," Linda countered back.
"Touché," Andy laughed.

Andy laid awake in bed that night after Linda tucked her in. Danny was away working late and it just wasn't the same without him. The conversation around the dinner table was quieter than usual, and Andy, Jack and Sean went to bed without complaint since they didn't have Danny to play with.
She hadn't necessarily been bad that day, but she hadn't exactly been good either. She hated having to watch her behavior so carefully. Not only was it hard, but in some ways she thought it was impossible. She had managed to avoid trouble that day at school, but she had no idea how she could avoid it for an entire week.
"Still awake?" Danny caught her off guard when he opened the door to her bedroom and peeked inside.
"Dad!" Andy smiled when she saw him.
"Your supposed to be asleep," Danny walked in and took a seat on the edge of her bed.
"You weren't here," she sat up.
"Now I've been gone at night before and you've slept," Danny
"I guess I'm not tired," Andy yawned.
"Mhmm," Danny laid her back down.
"I couldn't play outside and then you weren't here to help me get all my energy out this evening," Andy complained.
"I guess that means you need to be assigned more afternoon chores," Danny figured. "Because I'm going to be working at night some this week."
"That's not what I meant," Andy pouted.
"Oh," Danny remembered. "No more directing wrestling matches between your brothers."
"How'd you know about that?" Andy tried to appear as innocent as possible.
"I talked to your mother."
"Cheering on Jack was the only fun I had today." Andy could barely stand being ground and trying to be good all at the same time.
"Go to sleep," Danny kissed her forehead before tucking her in again.

The following day, and Andy found her decision to avoid trouble a challenge. Especially with her mothers hormones running rapid, overwhelmed with everything she to do before the baby arrived, as well as tending to the house and taking care of the children she already had. And in Linda's opinion, it didn't help matters that her other three children didn't seem to be interested in doing anything helpful whatsoever. One of the things Linda was growing tired of, was the constant picking up of dishes they seemed to leave scattered all over the house. She found a plate of cookie crumbs on the floor that Andy left when she and Jack were playing a card game. There was a juice glass in the bathroom, and a number of half empty water bottles spread around different areas of the house.
"Andrea," Linda sounded as if she had reached her limit. "How many times have I told you not to leave your ice cream bowl just anywhere," Linda chastised finding another empty bowl left on the coffee table from the night before.
"But it wasn't me," Andy tried. "It was from Dad Sunday Night."
"Nonsense, I would have picked it up before now, and this is exactly where you were sitting last night."
Andy wanted to say she didn't even eat ice cream the night before, but she let it go, her aunts reminder echoing in her head.
"Well you are washing dishes tonight after dinner," Linda came up with a suitable punishment, that may help curb the behavior. "Maybe that will help you remember not to leave your stuff just anywhere."
Andy's mouth dropped when she realized she was being punished for something she didn't even do. She wanted to argue with everything in her, and she was beginning to wish she had never even heard the words baby shower.
Getting up from where she sat on the sofa, Andy didn't say anything and instead made her way up the stairs. She was to aggravated to speak and knew that if she did, not only would she never see the light of day again, but there was also a chance she wouldn't be able to sit comfortably for dinner.
Linda, who had always wished Andy was better behaved and wouldn't argue, found herself in complete shock when she didn't say a word, and she found herself completely unsure how to process the sudden behavior change.
"I must be dreaming," was all Linda said as she went back to work in the house.
"Hey kid," Danny walked into the kitchen later that evening while Andy stood at the sink washing dishes after dinner.
"Hi Dad, mom left you a plate in the fridge."
"Great, I'm starving," Danny warmed his plate in the microwave.
"Do you have to go back to work or are you staying?" Andy dried a few of the dishes in the drain board so she could make room for the ones she still needed to wash.
"Going back," Danny gave her the answer he knew she didn't want to hear.
"Did you get in trouble or something?" Danny noticed she was the only one working in the kitchen.
"Unfortunately," Andy walked over to the cabinet to put the glasses away.
"Anything I should be aware of," Danny said with a raised brow.
"Yeah," Andy nodded. "You owe me," she pointed at him. "I took the blame for you." "What are you talking about?" When he asked if there was something he should be aware of, that wasn't exactly what he meant.
"You know how mom feels when someone leaves dirty dishes all over the house?" "Yeah," Danny nodded.
"She found your ice cream bowl from Sunday night and thought that it was mine, when I didn't even eat ice cream. Needless to say I'm supposed to be learning how not to do it again by doing the dishes."
"Sorry about that," Danny laughed. "I guess I do owe you one."
"And I'd like to collect the first part of next week," Andy grinned.
"And what do you mean by that?" Danny didn't think he owed her anything after all the trouble she had been getting in lately.
Andy let out a long breath and sighed. "If you must know, Aunt Erin wants me to help her with the baby shower she told you about and wants me to stay out of trouble so I can get permission to go with her."
"That's why you didn't argue with your mother." Danny interpreted her behavior.
"And it was one of the hardest things I've ever done," Andy said in all honestly.
"You know that's not really the best thing to say when your trying to convince your parents that your going to be good."
"Hey," Andy smiled. "At least I didn't lie."
"At least I've taught you something," Danny said in between bites of his dinner.
"I guess there's still hope for me yet," Andy placed the last dish in the cabinet and hung the dish towel up to dry.
"Have a seat," Danny pointed at the chair next to him. "I want to talk."
"What about?" Andy reached for his glass of water and took a sip.
"About your mom," Danny responded, Andy's observation regarding Linda's behavior had him thinking.
"She has been on edge lately," Andy wasn't sure what to say.
"It's because she's pregnant," Danny nodded.
"Does that mean I'm going to keep getting punished for things I don't do?" Andy grumbled.
"No," Danny shook his head. "And I'll talk to her about the dishes being mine."
"Don't worry about it," Andy wasn't all that bothered by it. "She could have grounded me again."
"Which is something your trying to avoid right?"
"Right," Andy pointed at him.
"I'll see what I can do about your mother being in agreement by giving you a little freedom next week since you are trying to do something nice for her."
"You can't tell her," Andy said quickly.
"I won't. But if I'm going to do my part. You are going to have to do your part by behaving as well as doing your part around the house." Danny was sure to say that she wasn't getting permission because she earned it by her past record.
"You mean by volunteering to wash the dishes and stuff like that," Andy interpreted.
"And stuff like that," Danny nodded, making sure she realized that doing a sink full of dishes wasn't going to cover it.
"Nothing ventured, nothing gained," Andy sighed, not exactly thrilled with the all the extra chores she was going to have to do. Then again at least it wouldn't leave her much time to get into trouble. Which was definitely something she was trying to avoid.
"So how was school today?" Danny changed the subject.
"My teacher moved me to a different seat."
"Let me guess, the front row?"
"How'd you know?"
"Just a lucky guess," Danny remembered the same thing happening to him when he was a kid.
"But I did manage to stay out of trouble," Andy thought that was definitely something worth mentioning.
"See if you can hang on to that the rest of the semester," Danny didn't think it was possible. But he figured there was no harm in trying.
"I can't wait for summer vacation," Andy's face brightened at everything that awaited her once she got out of school. Later bedtimes, sleepovers with Nicki, and more time to play especially.
"I'm afraid you aren't going to get much of a vacation." It was almost as if Danny could read her mind and knew exactly what she was thinking.
"Why not?" Andy couldn't think of anything she had done that bad to keep her grounded the entire summer break.
"Because we're going to have a lot to do before the baby comes, and your mother can't do it by herself."
"I still don't want to lose my room," Andy grumbled, when she thought about it.
"We've already been through this Andy," Danny didn't like doing it to her. Remembering how happy she was when she first moved in. Saying how she had never had a room to her own and one so nice before. "But you are the oldest."
"I know," Andy wasn't at all happy about it, but she knew there was nothing she could do about it,
"But I promise you that by the time were done, the attic is going to become more apart of the house with a permanent staircase and we'll make the room exactly like the one you have now."
"Okay," Andy forced a smile, hoping her face and tone of voice were saying the complete opposite of how she was feeling.
"You'll probably even have a bigger room," Danny could tell she wasn't being completely truthful with him, and he was trying to help her adjust to the change.
"That would be nice," Andy nodded.
Danny wanted to talk to her further about her feelings, but he knew it had to be put aside for the time being. He had to get back to work and she needed to get ready for bed.
"How many more nights are you going to be working?"
"Probably the rest of the week," Danny replied. "I had to get my night shift done so I can get some time off and start working on your room."
"But it's not the same when your gone," Andy complained.
"I appreciate that Andy," Danny hugged her. "Now I need to go see your mom and tell your brothers goodnight. And you need to go ready for bed."
Andy started to complain, but Danny stopped her.
"If you hurry, I can tuck you in before I have to leave."
"Okay," Andy smiled. She was just about to run out of the kitchen and up the stairs when she remembered. "Just don't leave your dishes on the table. I'm not taking the wrap for you again."
"Get up stairs," Danny laughed, picking up his plate and carrying it over to the sink.

The following day, and Nicki found her cousin in the school cafeteria. She wasn't eating her lunch and she had her head resting on the table.
"What's the matter with you?"
"I'm miserable," Andy didn't even bother to lift her head.
"Are you sick?" Nicki couldn't think of anything else that could cause her to react in such a way.
"Yes, I'm sick of being good." Andy grumbled.
"Your pathetic." Nicki sat down to eat.
"That's easy for you to say goody two shoes. You haven't discovered the fun in misbehavior." Andy managed to pick up her fork and get a few bites in.
"You are so much like Uncle Danny it's scary."
"There's just so much I still wanted to do to leave my mark on the school before the semester ended and I'm running out of time." Andy finally managed to pick up her head.
"Don't you think you've done enough to paint the school red?" Nicki was thinking of the few things she new of that Andy had done, and she was certain there were more.
"Depends on who you ask."
"Miss Boyle, Miss Reagan," The schools principle approached the table. "Are you looking forward to your summer vacations?"
"I will next week," Nicki said thinking ahead.
"More than you know." Andy had her own opinion.
"Will you be coming by my office next week?"
"Probably," Andy nodded with a smile. "I've never had detention on the last day of school and I'm hoping to add that to my record book."
"Well you usually follow through with your plans, so I'll start making out your detention slip."
"You'd save a lot of time if you went ahead and started making out my detention slips for next semester," Andy offered up a bit of advice.
"I'll take that into consideration. Have you decided when you are going to turn over a new leaf?" It was obvious the principle was hoping for an easier semester than they would they had endured.
"Not yet," Andy shook her head. "I'm still trying to sew my wild oats."
"Sometimes I see you two together and I wonder how you could possible be related," the principle said in astonishment. "You seem to be the most normal of the Reagan kids." The principle added, looking at Nicki.
"That's because I'm not one of Danny's," Nicki responded.
The principle walked away and Andy laughed out loud.
"You know I really can't wait to tell dad that."
"Don't you dare," Nicki's eyes widened.
"I won't," Andy blackmailed. "As long as you promise not to tell them about me planning something to get detention for."
"Hey," Nicki surrendered. "All I want is plausible deniability."
"But don't worry, it won't be something that bad," Andy assured her. "I don't want to spend my whole summer grounded."
"Thank God for small miracles."

A week had past since Andy had to have stitches and Linda had been keeping a close eye on them, so she would know when it was time to remove them.
"Andy come here and lay down, I need to take your stitches out.
"We're not going to the hospital for that?" Andy squinted, looking at her mother confused.
"Not when I can do it perfectly fine here," Linda replied, pointing at the bed. "One of the perks of having a nurse for a mother."
"Are you sure they're ready to come out?" Andy climbed on her parents bed and laid her head on her dad pillow. "I don't want to start bleeding all over the place again."
"Neither do I," Linda agreed. "I just got the place cleaned up from the last time you bled everywhere."
"When's Dad coming home?" Andy was thinking that his night shift should be jut about ending.
"I don't know Andy, he called earlier and said he might have to work again most of the night." Linda wet a cotton ball with alcohol so she could clean the area first.
"Awe Mom," Andy complained. "Why didn't you tell me? I wanted to talk to him."
"Stop complaining Andrea, you know he's been working nights."
"Maybe so, but I don't have to be happy about it," she grumbled, wriggling when saw the scissors and tweezers in her mothers hand.
"You have to be still Andy," Linda placed a hand gently on her daughters shoulder to keep her calm.
"This is as good as its going to get when you come near me with medical equipment."
"Please be still Andy. My feet are swollen and I really need to get off them."
"Is it going to hurt?" Andy new she had to do everything she could to help her mother so she could be away from home the following week.
"Not a bit," Linda smiled a reassuring smile.
"I hope your right," Andy sighed, quenching her eyes tight.
It was merely only seconds, and Linda was done.
"Good as new," she sounded pleased with the healing process and handed Andy a small hand held mirror so she could see for herself.
"You were right," Andy jumped up. "That didn't hurt at all." She said running off to show her brothers.

The Reagan's had been through a lot within their career path. And one could say that not much could shock them. But that following Sunday they were all shocked when Linda let them in regarding Andy's behavior that week.
"So how was everyone's week?" Frank asked during family dinner.
"Believe it or not, Andy has actually been good this week. So mines been great," Linda was the first to speak.
"Live long enough and you see everything." Henry was finding it hard to believe. Knowing it wasn't very often that they didn't sit at the dinner table and hear about something his great granddaughter did.
"Then again she has been grounded this week. So that may have had somethig to do with it." Linda figured.
"That means it should have been harder for me to be good," Andy found her mothers statement appauling. "Not being able to go outside, watch tv, listening to music," she named a few.
"In fact, I think I deserve reward," Andy winked at her aunt.
"I don't think so," Linda shook her head. "Your behavior this week has only done one thing but show that you are capable of staying out of trouble."
"I don't know Linda," Danny spoke up. "Erin was just telling me she wanted to do something with Andy and Nicki this week. I think I she's been good enough to allow that as long as she stays out of trouble at school."
"You really think so?"
"Why not," Danny shrugged. "Maybe it will act as an incentive for her to be good all the time." Sure Danny didn't think it was possible. But he also didn't see any harm in mentioning it.
"Mission accomplished," Andy whispered to her cousin as they cleared the table, carrying the dirty dishes into the kitchen.

The following week and Andy was away from home so much, it caused her mothers nerves to be completely on edge. So much in fact that she voiced her concerns to her husband one evening.
"I'm worried Danny," Linda sat on the sofa folding clothes while Danny watched a little tv. "Andy's hardly at home and when she is here, she's actually being good. Which worries me more than anything."
"'I'm sure she's fine. After all, I doubt she's knocking over a 7-eleven." Danny assured her.
"What do you think about her being good? She hasn't fought with her brothers, she hasn't gotten in trouble at school and Erin hasn't had anything bad to say."
"What do you expect? She's so tired when Erin brings her home that all she does is shower and go to bed."
"It still worries me," Linda wasn't buying it. "Somethings going on I just know it," she said as she carried the now folded laundry up the stairs.
"Hey Andy," Danny said seconds later when she walked through the front door. "How was your day?"
"Fine," Andy mumbled.
"What's the matter?"
"I'm so tired of being good. As soon as this baby shower is over I'm knocking over a 7-eleven."
"You do and your grounded for life," Danny threatened.
"I'll think about it," Andy muttered her breath.
"Is Erin coming in or did she leave already?" Danny noticed Erin and Nicki didn't come in like usual.
"Aunt Erin didn't drop me off," Andy took a seat next to him.
"She didn't?" Danny was surprised, knowing how protective Erin was of the children in the family.
"Detective Baez did," Andy replied. "She came to help decorate after work."
"Remind me to tell her to take you home with her next time," Danny teased.
"She's coming to the shower tomorrow," Andy enlightened her.
"Too bad, I'm going to need your help tomorrow with all the baby stuff we're going to get. She'd have a chance to see what I go through on a daily basis."
"I'm going to get you for that," Andy threatened menacingly. "You won't know when and you won't know where, but it'll happen."
"Go to bed," Danny's voice didn't show even a hint of concern.
Causing his daughter to become even more determined with putting a plan into action.
"Go on," he nudged her. "We're going to have busy day tomorrow and you need to get some sleep."
"Aunt Erin told you the plan for tomorrow right?"
"Uncle Jamie is coming to pick up your brothers around 1:00 tomorrow and taking them to the baby shower. And I'll take your mother at 2:00." Danny went over it with her.
"Right," Andy nodded. She doesn't suspect anything does she?"
"Not a thing," Danny smiled. "She's to focused on you staying out of trouble and being away from home."
Andy laughed out loud and Danny turned off the tv.
"I told her you were fine, but you know your mother," Danny said locking all the doors and making sure most of the lights were turned off before they made their way upstairs.
"I hope she likes everything we've worked on."
"She's going to love it. And she'll love in even more because you were apart of it."

By the time Erin, Andy and Nicki were done the place the baby shower was being held was beautiful, everything matching the nursery theme Linda had picked out. There were green, blue and yellow balloons with stringers hung up. A cute little diaper cake with cut outs of little monkeys pasted on them. A cake, punch, along with decorative plates and napkins spread over the table.
Linda was brought to tears when Danny brought her in later that afternoon. There she was surrounded by all her friends and family that were there to celebrate the arrival of Kyle Henry Reagan.
She received tons of baby things she didn't have yet, and she was overjoyed when she opened a gift bag with all the basics such as diapers, wipes, a thermometer and nail clippers. In another bag was multiple outfits of baby clothes, including cute little onesies, pajamas, soft day clothes and another outfit for mass on Sunday's.
If that wasn't enough, she also received a baby swing from the hostesses along with an adorable diaper bag.
That evening and Danny, Jack, Sean and Andy made multiple trips back and forth from the car to the house with all the new baby items.
"We're definitely going to have to get that nursery ready now," Linda beamed while she looked through the baby things once again.
"We will," Danny assured her. "Just as soon as we can." He said before hurrying out to the car to finish unloading before the rain started.
"Andy," Linda called her over to her from where she sat on the sofa, smiling at the baby clothes she held in her hand.
"Where do you want this?" She asked, her hands full with gift bags.
"Right here's fine," Linda nodded. "But I want you to sit down."
"Dad needs my help."
"Your brothers are helping him," Linda sat her down next to her, so she could look her in the eye. "I want to thank you for everything you did for me," Linda wrapped a loving arm around her. "Your aunt told me about how hard you worked."
"Did you like it?"
"I loved it," Linda squeezed. "And I want you to know that I couldn't ask for a better daughter than what I have in you."
"Really?" Andy looked at her inquisitively. "Even with all the trouble I get into."
"Even with all the trouble you get into."
