Ace is a fantastic character from "Classic" Doctor Who. I highly recommend looking her up if you didn't get a chance to catch her appearance on Netflix.

Chapter 20:

As Ace took them down on the elevator Martha asked:

"How long did you travel with Doctor Reid?"

"Three years before he dumped me," she nonchalantly. "I was only sixteen when I started traveling with him. A freak storm swept me from my home while I was experimenting with chemicals and landed on Ice planet that was actually a ship that—it all gets more absurd from there."

Hotch moved closer to Doctor Reid. "Are there any other companions or allies that might wish you harm that I should know about?"

"Not to my knowledge," he said and turned to Ace. "No one plays with chemicals like you."

Ace nodded. "I'll take that as a compliment."

Upon exiting they find themselves in what looks like a green school hallway where they could catch glimpses of classes taking place. One professor with a head that resembled a Jellyfish on a black suit had the "ethics" written on the board. In another they could see a man with two faces showing off pictures of guns. The final room they could see into showed what looked a crime scene on a planet made of lava.

After another turn they came to a door with a keypad lock. Ace entered the combination and the team was shocked by what they saw.

It was their bullpen. It had their name plates, family photos, and current paperwork. Rossi and Hotch could see their offices were open and lit.

Hotch looked to Ace. "Do you have classrooms for all law enforcement agencies?"

"Of course," she said. "Your FBI credentials helped create this room along with a psychic link."

Martha looked around. "This is really cool," she said looked at Reid's name plate. "So this is where you spent ten years of your life."

Doctor Reid took a seat behind his desk. "It feels weird. Do I look taller?"

J.J. smiled. "No."

"Your conference room is also available along with all the information you need to know about the Master," Ace said.

"What do you expect us to do?" Prentiss asked.

"You want us to create a profile," Rossi answered.

Ace nodded. "You have computers and files with all the known activity of the Master."

Hotch looked to the team. "Then let's look at this as a case. We'll separate the work and then meet in three hours' time. Does that sound reasonable?"

"What about Garcia?" J.J. asked.

"I think you should wait on connecting with her until you have gathered all of the information to provide theories and a plan of action," Ace said.

Doctor Reid. "Ace what aren't you telling us?"

"That the profiler in you?" Ace asked irritably.

"I still know when something is on your mind," he said.

"Okay, I checked your arrival time with the last activity on earth. J.J. you texted your husband on the plane only twenty minutes ago."

Everyone looked shocked aside from Doctor Reid and Martha.

"You're kidding," J.J. said. "It has been three days for us and only twenty minutes for earth?"

"I'd advise against introducing Garcia to this world until you have some theories and an a plan to implement," Ace said.

"That sounds fair," Hotch said. "I'd like to start analyzing the situation. Can we get started?"

"I'd like to take Martha to see something first and then I'll give her back to you," she said.

Hotch was already walking to the conference room. "Let's get started."

Martha hung back as everyone went to the conference room.

"What is it?" she asked.

"Follow me," she said simply. The walked down the hall of the BAU and Ace pressed a button on the elevator.

"We've been analyzing this particular team from some time. Other law enforcement teams have faced similar traumas, but none of this scale."

The elevator opened and they entered an old house in bad condition.

"Where are we?" Martha asked.

"You'll see," she said.

The entered a room where a computer screen was open. Ace pressed enter and a horrible scene appeared.

It was Doctor Reid tied to a chair in a wooden shack. A man with a loud voice was threatening him. Martha gasped as he beat Doctor Reid and asked him to confess his sins.

"I'm not sure I can watch," Martha said.

"You need to," Ace said firmly.

She watched as the man knocked Doctor Reid down and he began to gasp for air.

"Is he—"Martha said tearfully.

"He was dead for thirty seconds," Ace said.

Martha watched the man's other personality revived him. She took a step back.

"The Doctor was dead."

"He has come close to death on multiple occasions," Ace said. "This is just the most gruesome example."

"A coworker said he had been tortured, I just never could have imagined it like this," she said.

"Martha I wanted you to see this because so far you've just been a companion. You did some police work on Geblar but you need to see who the Doctor was to understand how he'll change in the future."

She wiped away a tear. "I should get going then. They need my help. I think."

"They do Martha," Ace said confidently. "You're they're bridge to our world."

They took the elevator back up and found Doctor Reid waiting.

"Reviewing my greatest hits are we?" he said.

"Your team is highly-regarded throughout the universe Professor," Ace said with a weak smile.

"And you are one exceptional law enforcement director," he said with a smile and went and hugged Ace.

Martha sniffled. "You never told me you died," she said.

He pulled Martha into the hug. "What matters is that I am alive. You saw me at my worst and now you'll see me at my best. I promise."

They stood there in a hug for a few seconds and then let go.

"So what task are you up to Doctor Reid?" Martha asked.

"Polly World has reams of data on the Master. Enough for the team to work on without me. I have a separate project. Martha you're going to be working with Blake on dictation as there are running themes in the way he spoke."

"What is the project Doctor?" Ace asked.

"Sift through all the data you have on my team and form a theory," he said.

"I think I know where this is going," Ace said.

"Where?" Martha asked.

"We have data on every person from every phone and camera," Ace said.

"But none on the pilot," Doctor Reid said.

"So the pilot is an alien," Martha said.

"No," Doctor Reid.

"Reality warped around you when you opened that watch," Ace said.

"There are a couple a theories as to why the pilot disappeared from the plane and one of them is that we're telly characters in a parallel universe where the master is has been trapped."
