I honestly had some difficulty coming up with another St. Patrick's Holiday-Door plot line, even if it's only a single drabble, so this just follows the previous one, chapter 15.
It had come again. It was the time for the Meeting of Kings: this time scheduled to take place in the old emerald hills waiting beyond the Door painted green and carved in the shape of a shamrock.
And in fact, Sally requested to attend this precise meeting in advance on her husband's behalf, as she had prepared a gift to bring for the Leipreachán Folk. Jack had no objections and contently sent her on her way, knowing very well that she would make a fine impression.
So once she received her opportunity hours later, Sally knelt before the gathering of little men outside of the Council Hall, dressed handsomely in their blue coats and buckled shoes. Their red and blonde curls alike were slicked back beneath their green cobbler caps. They all stared intently with silent wonder while the Doll Queen pulled the black velvet ribbon loose and unwrapped the item cradled in her lap. She finally revealed the jar within the packaging paper left over from last Christmas to them, setting it down in front of them upon the stone pathway and smiled. "I made this fresh batch this morning. Just for you."
One of the more elderly-looking Leipreachán with the full grey beard stepped forward and took hold of the cover.
Upon its release, a large dark frog immediately poked out his head from the opening, drooped his jaw, and blew a great cloud of fog.
The lingering stench of Frog's Breath was foul as it usually was, but the others pid no mind. They simply chuckled in sheer delight.
Oh, what mischief they could bring!
