Buniot was laying next to the radio, his eyes closed, enjoying the classical tune playing obviously. I was sitting in the dining chair, my head resting in my paws. The thought of not changing back never left my mind since yesterday. If I had pen and paper, or even the ability to read or write, here's what I would jot down...
Pros
Make more friends than you ever have
You'll always be safe
Pokemon are always nice to each other
You can still live with your family
You'll be known as the legend who fought off Team Plasma every step of the way
You'll be able to talk to all of your new friends you've made
You'll have amazing powers
Cons
Your family won't be able to look at you the same anymore
The only con sounded sketchy, but that was how I felt. My parents have never owned a Pokemon, and what would happen if they had to look after one. Sure, I'd still be Damian on the inside, but how would they hug me without nearly crushing me? How could I say good night or I love you and have them understand me? Angel wouldn't have a big brother to take care of her. Angel... How Angel would be affected was what bothered me most.
Sometimes she would come to my room and talk to me whenever she was upset about someone at school or in the neighborhood picking on her. If I'm a Riolu, what can I do? Other than beat the kids who pick on her, senseless. Is my change of heart completely selfish? Am I only thinking of myself here? I sighed, fighting back a tear of frustration.
Buniot didn't notice, and I was glad he didn't. Buniot cared a lot. It was no doubt he thought a lot of me either. He has a huge heart, and he's a great friend. Then again, almost every Pokemon I've met is.
I pounded my paw onto the table, cursing under my breath. I couldn't take it anymore, the stress was killing me. I stood up, leering at the table with this random anger ready to burst.
I could hear Buniot turning off his music, I didn't turn to face him.
"Hey, Damian? You okay man?" asked Buniot cautiously.
I replied by simply huffing in anger. What was the meaning behind this anger? I honestly didn't know. But I was at my breaking point, which meant someone was going to get hurt. And if someone was going to get hurt, I had to get away from Buniot.
"Just leave me alone right now Buniot... I'm going for a walk..." I muttered between heaving breaths.
"Ohh... Ya want me-"
"No, Buniot... I... I need to be alone..." I bit my lip.
I jumped through the roof of his home via the secret hatch. As I made it outside, I felt as though I just needed to punch something. Blow something up with an aura sphere. My only outlet for anger right now was pure aggression it seemed. I looked all around, finally deciding to make my way to the West of Wisp Town.
I wasn't far from Buniot's home before he yelled, "Damian! Where're you going?! If you go that way you'll run into those Plasma guys! They've got a base or something that way!"
My eyes widened, and my body tensed up.
"Good..." was my only reply. And I simply continued walking.
I could hear Buniot quickly scampering behind me.
"Damian! What're you doing, man! What's wrong? Come on bro, you're starting to freak me out!" he exclaimed.
"Buniot, just leave me alone! I'll be back soon..." I assured him.
He didn't stop following me, in fact, he sprinted and stopped in front of me. Attempting to stop me in my tracks.
"Come on... Listen, I don't know why you're being like this, but... I can't let you take on those guys if that's what you're thinking. You've worked too hard to get where you're at now, man-"
"Buniot... If you don't get out of my way right now... I swear..."
Buniot only glared at me, tensing up as I said that.
"I'm not gonna move from this spot until you tell me what's going on! So if you're gonna hit me, you better knock me out if you wanna take one step further."
"Buniot! I'm not going to hit you! Just get the hell out of my way! I don't have time for your crap! I'm pissed off and that's all you need to know! NOW MOVE!" I screamed.
Buniot hesitated, if anything he stood his ground, prepared for an earthquake at this point. I snarled, and did the unthinkable. I went to punch Buniot in the face out anger, not out of fun. He dodged it, but my second strike, a blaze kick to his torso, knocked him into a tree. He hit the oak with a thud, then falling to the ground unconscious. Tears fell down my eyes, the anger still haunting me with its presence.
"I'm sorry, Buniot... I just need to blow off some steam right now..." I wiped my right cheek with my arm, faced West and headed for what could've been the worst choice of my life.
There still was no known outlet of this anger. I was frustrated about me not wanting to go back to my human life but that wasn't enough to put me on the outburst I was having now. Nevertheless, it was happening. I didn't even attempt to think rationally about this.
It wasn't long before I made it to the so-called camp Buniot told me of. It was only a mile and a half away from where Buniot lived. The camp was surrounded by shrubbery in the forest. Tents, lawn chairs, surveillance technology that seemed unreal at the time. It was perfect to destroy. Luckily, I could only see three Team Plasma goons and their Pokemon. I counted the Pokemon.
2 Gliscor's, a Mightyena, and a Luxray.
The odds were stacked against me, but if I couldn't win, I could at least fight and run away if I have to. But at this point, I was destined to win. My confidence was so high I could take on Arceus at this point.
I sighed, almost second guessing myself. I punched the tree to my right. It was a light punch, but it still caused it to shake and stir. I closed my eyes and noticed one of the goons stand up using my aura vision.
"Ya hear that? I think someone's here..." The guy said in complete paranoia. He started tip toeing my way until the woman said, "Just relax Jay! It was probably a Starly or something."
The guy nearly turned around, so to get his utmost attention, as well as the other two goons with him, I gave the tree the most powerful punch I could snapping the thick oak tree like a twig, sending it flying nearly 5 feet before it slammed into the dirt, causing the ground to vibrate as it made contact. They were all alert now, they're Pokemon quickly by their sides. The paranoid guy, who I'm assuming was Jay, was only five feet from now. His friends right behind him.
I opened my eyes, launched myself from the bush, and tail whipped the guy in the face, nearly knocking him out cold.
As I landed, the woman noted, "Hey! It's that kid for the reward!"
I turned and went to attack the woman as she removed a baton from her holster. I was suddenly lifted into the air by one of the Gliscor, his clamps around my neck.
"You picked a bad day to fight me kid! This is the first time I've gotten to enjoy myself in weeks!"
I replied by charging an aura sphere quicker than I ever had before and launching it directly into his torso. He dropped me, and I fell from nearly fifteen feet. I landed with a thud, but I rolled to suppress my fall.
I could then see myself surrounded by the other three Pokemon and their trainers. Instantly, Mightyena dashed towards me, his body engulfed in a flaming aura as he did so. It was then Luxray who fired a lightning bolt directly towards me, and Gliscor charged me with his clamps opened.
I spun to the side, dodging Luxrays attack with ease. I then blaze kicked Mightyena across the face, knocking him to the ground, the flame surrounding him now gone. I followed my maneuver by jumping up as high as I could and firing an aura sphere at Gliscor's back. He descended quickly and skid across the ground from the blast. As I rushed for Luxray, I was nearly struck by one of the stun rods, but I simply put one paw up and created a small reflect shield, powerful enough to send the volts of electricity right back to the woman.
I continued my rush, but as I came incredibly close to Luxray, his eyes shone incredibly bright and a flash of light disarmed me of my visibility. He used flash, but is didn't need my eyes to fight him. I have two sets of eyes now. Luxray scoffed, almost confident that he had me. The two remaining goons and his Pokemon teammates were stunned by the attack.
I could see the aura of Luxray inching towards me.
"Gotcha now, Damian..."
As launched himself into the air prepared to tackled me, I enveloped my right arm into a flame, jumped far backwards, skid across the ground, and them grinned haughtily at a confused Luxray.
"Peekaboo," I sneered as I uppercut Luxray with all of my might with the fire punch.
I took advantage of the time everyone was still stunned to continue my fight with Luxray. I followed my attack with a crushing downwards tail whip to his skull, then gaining my footing to use a point blank aura sphere to his torso. The blast was the finishing move, that was obvious. I could tell by looking at his aura he was down for the count, as was the woman and one of the Gliscor.
It almost seemed easy... A little too easy. But I was too in the zone to think about how weak Team Plasma's defenses were.
It was a dirty trick, but that's what Team Plasma was made of. Nothing but dirty tricks. I knocked the remaining two trainers out cold with one punch as they were still stunned by Luxray's Flash. My only focus now were the Pokemon. Mightyena and Gliscor were already fatigued, even as I allowed them to recover from the flash.
Me, I was on top of the world. I wasn't even sure this was about anger anymore. If anything, I felt satisfied with what I was doing.
Both Mightyena and Gliscor leered at me, then each other.
"...you little... I'll... You'll be sorry for this!" screamed Mightyena.
I only took a step closer to them, both of them stepping back. I had a plan in mind. I dashed towards Mightyena, firing a deadly Aura Sphere at Gliscor, finishing off but one of my opponents. I then used a force palm on Mighyena, then pinned him to the ground with my foot resting against his neck.
"I'm gonna ask you one time... Is there a way for me to become human again?"
He grunted, but I only applied more pressure with my foot.
"Please... I... I'll tell you what you want to know just... Don't hurt our masters anymore..." he begged.
"Then do it!" I yelled.
He coughed, "Okay... I'll tell you... I'll tell you..."
I could've awaited his answer for centuries if I had to, but I didn't have to. The answer I'd been waiting for since all of this went down.
Mighyena gasped for air, and with a croak he muttered, "No... There is no way back. The machine can only turn humans into-"
I didn't want to hear the rest. It was obvious. I kicked him in the skull, knocking my final enemy out cold. I took the time to look one of the surveillance cameras in the eye. After I allowed the camera to get a quick glimpse of me, I swiftly smashed the piece of technology between my paws and threw it to the ground. I made haste until I was at least half a mile from the camp. I then dropped to my knees, and cried into my arms. Completely regretting what I had just done.
Wow guys! Chapter 21, man I'm on a roll! I felt a little... Sympathy in this chapter. Damian is clearly going through a really hard time with everything from wanting to be a Pokemon to being separated from Azelf and the others, to not even knowing if Swellow was okay. Heck, if it were me(which Damian is an alternate me, being in my image and all) I'd throw a fit from all the stress too and probably beat the crap out of every Team Plasma bloke I run into. I wasn't sure I liked making Damian attack Buniot, but that had to bring out the true emotion Damian is facing right now. Please review this chapter along with the two others I have posted recently, chapters 19 & 20. I love hearing feedback from all of you and it means the world to me to know that you're still reading on after all this time! :')
Cheers,
