Chapter 21

Where the Heart is

Legolas' POV

Something in my heart told me to go to the grove so I did. I rode my horse out of the forest and into the grove. I was only there for half of an hour before flew down. Kasumi was on her back crying.

"Kasumi!?"

She looked at me. She jumped down and ran into my arms. She cried into my chest and I looked at Emerald. She looked down sadly and I looked at Kasumi.

"What happened? Are you hurt?"

She shook her head and I gently stroked her face.

"Tell me what happened." I said gently.

We sat down on the grass beside Emerald and she told me everything.

"She told them not to look for me! And they listened! Why would anyone tell a parent not to look for their child?" she cried.

"Who are they?" I asked.

"I am Ithilwen daughter of Elrond."

My eyes went wide with shock and I froze.

"Legolas?" she asked.

Kasumi's POV

He looked at me.

"Lady Celebrian is your mother." He said.

"Her name is Celebrian?" I asked.

"Yes. And your father and siblings dwell in Imladris."

I fell silent. Now that I knew that they had never looked for me…..I knew not if I wanted to see them.

"Kasumi?"

He took my hand and I looked into his eyes.

"If you want to go I shall go with you. I care not what my father says."

I looked at Emerald.

"You know I shall go with you. The choice is yours."

I had never had to make such a difficult choice in my life.

"They never looked for me. Why should I look for them?" I asked.

Legolas gently turned my face to his.

"I know your siblings. Elladan and Elrohir the twins and Arwen your sister. Arwen looked for you. That is how I met her. She came to Mirkwood looking for you and she was very, very young at that time. Galadriel told them that you would come back but she did not know when. She said all they had to do was wait and that they would not be able to find you. Arwen was too headstrong to listen. She went looking for you but she never found you."

I nodded.

"Because I was in Kobe."

He nodded. He tucked a stray lock of hair behind my ear. I smiled a little.

"You will never have to do anything alone. I will stand at your side no matter what happens. I promise."

A cool breeze blew my hair and I slowly put my hand on the side of his face. He leaned forward and I closed the space between us. It was so different from last time. This kiss was in a word…..hot.

Now I sound like an American teenager.

I tangled my fingers in his hair and moved onto his lap. His tongue slipped through my lips and curled around mine. I moaned into his mouth and I heard Emerald fly off.

"I shall return when you are finished."

Not too long after she left, Legolas pulled away from me and looked into my eyes.

"I believe you should go. Your father has missed you so very much. Although I think Emerald should hold back when we get there. We really do not need the elves to hurt her."

I laughed a little and shook my head.

"No we do not."

Emerald flew back down and Legolas stood up. Took my hands and pulled me up. I looked at Emerald and then back at him.

"I am ready to go. But I think it best if you stay here."

Now he seemed confused. I took his hands and looked into his eyes.

"If you just disappear your father will look for you and where do you think he will go first?"

He sighed.

"Erebor."

I nodded and then hugged him tightly. He put his strong arms around me, those arms that made me feel so safe and warm.

"You know I want nothing more than to take you with me." I said.

"I know, and you are right. The last thing I want is to cause your family trouble because of my selfish actions. But promise me if you need me, send Emerald and I will come to you."

I smiled.

"You have my word." I said.

He looked into my eyes and kissed me again. He pulled back slightly and whispered,

"Now go."

I nodded and climbed onto Emerald's back. I looked straight at Legolas.

"Daisukidesu Legolas."

Emerald took off into the air.

Legolas' POV

I did not know what she said, but in my heart I had a feeling. I smiled up at the sky.

"Amin mela lle Ithilwen." I whispered.
