Maya's life has been a roller coaster ride luckily she had her friends to keep it balanced. She had been through the ups and down's to much that anyone her age should be able to handle but some how she did. Was it her friends, Shawn Hunter, The Matthews that helped? Maya wasn't sure all she new was that she was in for a bumpy ride.

Chapter 21: John Adams High Part 4

Maya and Riley were at school hanging out at the lockers like they usually did every morning.

''I feel like you haven't come over in ages'' Riley said

''I was over this morning when I came to pick you up'' Maya said

''Yeah you came over then but that's what you always do'' Riley said

''want to hang out after school then'' Maya said

''yeah'' Riley said

''anything you want to do specifically'' Maya said

''well I was thinking you know how you and Farkle have that coffee shop'' Riley said

''no'' Maya said

''but you don't even know what I was going to say'' Riley said

''so you won't show me where it is'' Riley asked

''we should get a place like that but it can be our spot'' Riley said

'' I know where our place can be'' Maya said

''the demolition store'' Maya said excitedly

''well after our date we haven't gone out again and I'm not sure if he still likes me or not'' Riley said

''right we do we should have another one of them soon'' Farkle said

''anyway I'll leave you to talk about guys night I have to go find Liam'' Maya said

She handed her phone to Liam then she got a text from Riley.

''can you reply to her saying sure'' Maya said

Liam had just finished replying and he saw a conversation Maya and riley had before it was about Josh.

''how long have you liked josh'' Liam asked

''what?'' Maya said with her heart beating faster and faster

''your text to riley and I quote ''Do you still like my uncle josh'' ''Yeah I do'' so spill'' Liam said

''ok Liam its true yes I like him but you can't tell anyone especially not him'' Maya said

''really'' Liam said

''yes please don't Josh told me that your good at keeping secrets so please keep this one'' Maya asked

''don't worry I won't tell anyone'' Liam said

''thankyou so much'' Maya said jumping and giving him a quick hug.

''Maya the player first she was hugging Josh yesterday now Liam please Maya make your choice'' Shane said as he was coming around the corner with Josh and Casey.

''no it wasn't umm we weren't it wasn't what you think'' Maya said

''sure'' Shane said

''leave them alone'' Casey said

''jealous hey'' Shane said

''Shane Shut up'' Josh said

''whatever we got to get to history anyway'' Maya said

'' I can't remember it was like 5 minutes ago'' Maya said

''may I over step my bounds sir'' Farkle said

''you always do'' Mr Matthews said

'' we all go through things we can't stop but no matter how much you may say history doesn't have to do with us it is actually completely wrong whatever we do will ultimately become history. It's the future you can't escape it. THANKYOU I AM FARKLE'' Farkle said

''Riley'' Lucas said

''Lucas'' Riley said

''I was wondering if you may have wanted to-'' Lucas was cut of my Mr Matthews

''umm excuse me what's going on here'' Mr Matthews said

''dad why can't you just see that this is so innocent it's just me talking to a boy nothing more'' Riley said

''yes but fathers don't see it like that we see it as what's the opposite of innocent'' Mr Matthews said

''Right here'' Maya said pointing to herself and Casey

''yes'' Casey said hi fiving her

''Ferp'' Mr Matthews said

There was five minutes left of the lesson and Maya and Casey were laughing and making jokes at the back of class.

''Maya Casey can you please focus'' Mr Matthews said

''we would but it's so boring and history is making us dumb'' Maya said

''ok anyone who thinks your dumb stand up'' Mr Matthews said

No one in the class stood up

''see no one thinks they're dumb'' Mr Matthews said

Casey stood up

''oh you think your dumb do you'' Mr Matthews said

''no I just felt bad that you were standing on your own'' Casey said

Maya cracked up laughing and stood up as well

''Maya'' Mr Matthews said

''come on Mr Matthews it was friendly fire' 'Casey said

''you can't say you were a perfect student at school'' Maya said

''are you aware you have detention after school'' Mr Matthews said

''no sir I did not know that'' Maya said

''who'' Riley said

Mr Matthews looked at her

''not whoo'' Riley said

''that's what I thought'' Mr Matthews said

'' I want detention to'' Riley said

''riley you have never done anything bad'' Mr Matthews said

''am I always going to follow the rules will I ever take a risk that changes my destiny who am I dad'' Riley said

''you're just like me'' Mr Matthews said

''oh yeah would you do this'' Riley said before Maya jumped onto Mr Matthews back then riley got her finger and went up and down his lips.

''yeah that will do it'' Mr Matthews said

''my niece in detention with me'' Josh said

''how did you get it'' Mr Matthews said

''it's his second home'' Maya said

''you know too much about me'' Josh said

''yeah your still a mystery'' Maya said

Maya and josh smiled at each other.

''your such a mystery Josh'' Casey said

''totally ruined the moment'' Liam said

''what moment there was no moment was there?'' Maya asked

Josh smiled at her again. Then Liam whispered something in his ear and his smile immediately dropped. Had he told Josh about her crush?

''Liam!'' Maya said

''I didn't'' Liam said

''didn't what'' Josh asked

''thankyou you better not'' Maya said

''better not what'' Josh said

''quite please I come here to learn'' Maya said

Everyone just laughed. Then the bell rang.

Josh Maya Casey You (referring to Riley) Sit you have detention'' Mr Matthews said

''hey bro remember our last detention'' Josh said

''did you get our gift'' Maya said

''yes I did thankyou'' Mr Matthews said sarcastically

''Thankyou'' Maya said

''so this is detention hey'' Riley said

''Make yourself comfortable you got 30 minutes to kill'' Maya said

''sometimes the best thing is the people who are with you'' Josh said

Everyone looked around at each other smiling
