The paramedics put Logan onto a stretcher and carried him out towards the ambulance. Camille was allowed to go with him. Just to be safe, she was put into a wheelchair and wheeled out. The boys and Jo promised to follow close behind.

Camille sat down next to Logan and held his hand. He looked a complete mess. His beautiful face was bruised and swollen at some places. Tears welled up in Camille's dark eyes.

"Oh, baby, I'm so sorry," she sobbed. "I didn't know he was capable of doing this. I couldn't even help you, because I was so terrified."

"Don't cry," Logan managed to say although talking hurt him a lot. "Not your fault. Not mad at you."

"Logan, you better not talk until we get you checked out completely," the paramedic said. "Try and rest a little, young man."

They arrived at the hospital a little while later. A doctor immediately gave Logan a physical to check his injuries. Camille refused to leave his side for one minute. The doctor first checked Logan's pulse and blood pressure. He checked Logan's reflexes and had a closer look at his head injury. He then took a look at the bruising to his eyes, nose and face.

"You have been hit pretty badly by the look of things," the doctor stated.

Logan winced in pain as the doctor touched his face.

"We'll do x-rays to check the damage, but I'm pretty sure your nose and cheekbone are broken," the doctor said.

He unbuttoned Logan's shirt and checked out the bruising to his chest.

"We'll need to x-ray your chest too," he said. "And we'll do a CT scan of your chest, abdomen and head to just to be safe."

Since Camille was pregnant, she wasn't allowed in the room with Logan. A friendly nurse took her to the examination room so they could check out the baby on the ultrasound.

"Don't you worry," the nurse said. "You won't feel a thing. I'll just put a cold gel on your belly and then we can have a closer look at the little one growing inside of you."

Camille was excited to see little peanut at last. He or she was still very tiny, but was developing as it should be. She could clearly hear the baby's heartbeat.

"Is Peanut doing okay?" She asked worry obvious in her soft voice.

"The baby is doing fine indeed," the nurse said. "What a lovely pet name. Who came up with that?" "Logan did," Camille said. "He's such a sweetheart. He was totally cool with me being pregnant and he is so supportive. He loves this baby to death already. I just hope he'll be okay."

"Who beat him up?" The nurse asked.

"My dad," Camille answered. "He was furious that I was pregnant and took it all out on poor Logie. There was nothing I could do to protect him."

"Thank goodness he didn't hurt you too," the nurse said. "You could have easily lost the baby all together. Now this stress isn't good, either. So we're going to keep you overnight and monitor you just to be safe."

"What about Logan?" She asked.

"My guess is that he will be admitted too," the nurse said. "He might have a concussion and he's badly injured too. I'm sure the doctors will want to monitor his condition overnight too. You guys can be in the same room."

The nurse helped Camille back into the wheelchair and brought her up to her room. Kendall, Jo, James and Carlos had arrived there too together with Mrs. Knight and Katie.

"Sweetie, are you alright?" She asked Camille.

"I'm fine and so is Peanut," she said relieved. "They're just keeping me overnight to keep an extra eye on me. But poor Logie …" She was crying by now.

Mrs. Knight quickly pulled the upset girl in her arms.

"It's alright, sweetie," she said. "Thank goodness he didn't harm you. You're welcome to stay with us, you know that."

"Thank you so much," Camille answered gratefully.

The door to the room opened once again and Logan's bed was rolled in. The doctor followed right after.

"Are you all Logan Mitchell's family?" He asked.

"I'm his guardian and these are all his friends," she explained. "What's the verdict?"

"Well," the doctor said. "Logan is one lucky boy, although he has some severe injuries but none are life threatening. He has a mild concussion from hitting his head, his nose is broken and so is his cheekbone. His right arm was broken too and is in a cast and he has some cracked ribs. Luckily he didn't puncture his lungs. He needs to rest at least two weeks with this concussion and all of the other injuries for sure. He is not allowed to chew for at least 6 weeks. We'll keep him under observation overnight, but he can come home and rest tomorrow. I'll prescribe him some strong painkillers to ease the pain."

"Thank God," Mrs. Knight answered relieved.

"Camille, we had to contact the police and inform them about what happened," the doctor explained to her. "They want a statement from both you and Logan. I told them to wait until the morning, so he could get some much needed rest."

Camille nodded and looked at Logan who was sleeping peacefully.

"You should press charges," he said. "If you ask me, your father had no right to hurt either you or Logan at all. I can understand that he was upset, but he had no right to beat the living daylights out of your boyfriend."

"I will," Camille said sadly. "I hate doing that to my dad, but he was way out of line. He kicked me out too, but I can live with Logan and Mrs. Knight at 2J. Right now, I don't think I want him to be part of my family."

Jo hugged her best friend.

"Cami, you really are a brave girl," she said.

The doctor left the room again and shortly afterwards Logan woke up again. He moved around in the small bed and winced in pain.

"Hey, Loges," Kendall said. "How are you feeling?"

"Like I've been hit by a heavy loaded truck," he said hoarsely. "My head, my cheek and my nose rally hurt and so does my arm and my chest."

Kendall, James and Carlos explained what his injuries were and Logan sighed.

"Logan, you gave us quite a scare," Mrs. Knight said.

"I was really scared too," Logan admitted. "I don't think I've seen anyone this enraged before in my life. What about Camille and Peanut?" He asked worried.

"I'm right here, baby," Camille said softly.

"Cami, oh God," he said nervously. "Please tell me there's nothing wrong with you or Peanut?"

"We're doing fine, Logie," she said. "They are just keeping me here to be safe, since I was so stressed out with you getting hurt. I'm so sorry, baby."

"Don't be," he said. "I rather be injured then have him hurt you. I love you so much."

"I love you too," she answered.

"You two better get some rest now," Mrs. Knight ordered. "We'll be back in the morning to come and pick you two up. Logan, we're moving Camille in with you. I'm sure you won't mind that."

"I don't mind at all," he said trying to smile.
