Everyone watched the door they had just witnessed Kazu run out of with eyes full of tears. They turn to look at Tokiya who was looking down with a look of shock on his face. He slowly walked over towards the piano bench and managed to sit down on it. He still looked down at his feet clearly upset over what it was his son just shouted at him.
"Tokiya are you okay?" Otoya asked, "I'm sure Kazu didn't really mean what he just said." Tokiya didn't respond. He just kept looking downward.
"I'm sure Kazu-Chan didn't really mean what he said. You know kids, they don't mean a lot of what they say," said Natsuki.
"It's doesn't matter," said Tokiya, "What's said is said. I, I need to be alone for a bit." He stood up and walked out of the room.
"Poor Tokiya," said Otoya, "It's never easy to hear a kid say such a thing!"
"Yeah but who knows what the kid's going through to feel the need to say such a thing," said Ren. He looked over at Yuina who was looking rather torn. She wasn't sure whom she should go after, Kazu or Tokiya.
"Hey," she heard Ren call out to get her attention.
"Uh yeah?" Yuina said coming out of her confusing trance.
"You've been seeing the two of them at home. How bad have the two of them been acting together?" Ren asked.
"Well it does seem like Kazu's been mad at lot over the smallest things. I wasn't sure if he was just usually in a bad mood or if he's going through soemthing like say dealing with his mother death," said Yuina.
"It has to be him dealing with Harkua's death. He used to be such a nice kid," said Otoya.
"Excuse me sir, were you coming back to supervise your children's lesson?" a maid asked suddenly walking into the room.
"Oh yes, how is it going?" Masato asked.
"It's going well, but the children were all wondering where everyone was," said the maid.
"Hmm, I'll be right there, " said Masato.
"I should go see how my angle is doing," said Ren following after him.
"Yuina are you okay?" Otoya asked when he noticed she was looking complex again.
"I was just wondering if I should go after Mr. Ichinose or Kazu," said Yuina ,"I think they both could use someone to talk to"
"I don't know if Tokiya's up for much talking," said Syo.
"Still though, I'm going to go off and see if I kind find one of them and just see if they need an ear," said Yuina.
"That's probably a good idea Yuina. I'll help you look okay?" said Otoya.
"We all can go looking for the two fo them again," said Natskui, "Right Syo?" He grabbed Syo before Syo could give an answer.
"Hey!" Syo shouted as he was dragged out.
"I'll go see here," Yuia siad heading down a random hallway.
She wondered around for a while until she came to a door and saw Tokiya sitting on a step with his hands folded. She slowly approched him. As she did she accidently stepped on a lose floor board and caused it to creek.
Tokiya looked up at the sound.
"Oh it's you," he said glumbly, "I thought I asked to be left alone."
"I'm sorry. I just want to know if you were okay sir," Yuina said timidly, "Hearing Kazu say was pretty harsh, but deep down I really don't think he meant it."
"He wouldn't be wrong though," said Tokiya softly.
"What?" asked Yuina confused.
"I should have been the one that died in that crash!" said Tokiya, "It was my stupidity that casued the crash in the first place!" He started to hold his head in anger and hurt. He barely felt the hand coming down on his shoulder and barely looked up at owner, Yuina.
"Sir," she said, "I don't think you going on about how it should have been you that died is going to help anything. Nor is you just sitting here wallowing in self pity over what your son said to you. If I were you I'd try just talking to him, not at him, with him. You two won't get any better with your relationship with him unless your work it out. Do you want to have your son resent you all his life?"
"We've never had a good relationship to begin with," said Tokiya, "Ever since the day he's was born I hadn't been the best father to him."
"I doubt it was that bad," said Yuina.
"Want to bet?" asked Tokiya. "The night he was born STARISH had a concert and even though she was due really soon Haruka insisted on coming and watching from the wings of the stage like she always did. Halfway throug the show she went into labor and had to be taken the hospital by one her friends and one of our former teachers/ mentors."
"So I'm sure she would have rather been at the show then say at home alone going into labor," said Yuina.
"That mybe but the thing was I didn't even realize she went into labor or left the arean until the show was over. In fact I was the only one who didn't realzie she had left early. The other six seem to catch on about it. I remember them giving me weird looks through out the rest of the show about why I was wating like everything was normal. Then when the show ended they all confronted me about why I didn't show any concern over Haruka leaving let alone try to get out of the show early. I didn't understand at first until one of our other former mentors came running to us with a phone telling us Haruka had given birth. I felt so ashemd and embarassed about not realizing that my wife had goen into labor and had to go give birth all on her own."
"Well," said Yuina, "You know this may sound crazy but I think your wife would have prefer you stay and finish the show instead of hurrying after her."
"You'd think wouldn't you" said Tokiya, "However it got worse when I got to the hopsital. I found out that Kazu had actually been born breach and it woulnd up being a really difficult labor for Haruka. They nearly lost her in fact while she was giving birth. Can you imagine what that must of been like? Having to go through that the first time you try to have a child and you don't even have your husband there to help support you? She did keep going on like you said though, insisting she'd prefer I stay and finish the show rather then go with her to the hopsital since apparently it was watching us on TV that gave her the strength to make it through the birth."
"It sounds like your wife didn't hold any grduge againts you in the slightest," said Yuina.
"That maybe but it sure didn't help with my relation ship with Kazu. It started out with me not even being there for him on the day he was born. Then after that, as the year went by, I was so busy with my work as an idol, it seemed like I didn't have much time with him , no matter how much I want to be able to spend time with him. Haruka always managed to find time for him. She was good mother to him, unlike the bad fatehr I was to him. Then Haruka got pregnate with Rui and she of course was born real sickly. She started to take up a lot of our time having to worry about her conditin to the point that I once again found myself unintentionally neglecting him. And now with Haruka gone I feel like I'm drifting further apart from him," said Tokiya.
"And what you're just going to sit by here and let it happen?" said Yuina. Without thinking she went and gave her boss a flick to his forehead. "You are an idiot!"
"It is usually in your intent to call your boss an idiot?" Tokiya asked.
"It is when he's being one!" said Yuina, "You know what the probalem is with you and your kid. That's got to count for something. Most can't even see that while it's happening! So for the last time, instead of just sittting here sulking go and find your son and work on your problems! Don't give up on him! It's not too late!"
"You sure seem confident in that," said Tokiya.
"And what, you're so hard core convinced it isn't going to work? You won't know unless you try!" Yuia shouted as she grabbed her boss by his arm and yanked him up. Tokiya was starteld by her sudden action. "Go, find your son and work on your relationship with him before it really is too late! You're all he has left. Don't let him actually lose you too!"
"Uh," Tokiya said as he found himself being dragged along by Yuina, not sure how to take in what just happened.
Otoya, Natsuki and Syo kept searching around Masato's huge house looking for Kazu, calling out his name.
"Kazu!"
"Kazu-Chan!"
"Where are you, you little twerp? Come on out!" Syo shouted.
"Uh Syo, I don't think that's really going to help in luring Kazu out," said Otoya.
"Well this is getting tiresome!" said Syo, "Where could the kid have gone anyway?"
"Any luck finding Kazu?" Yuina asked walking up to the men, dragging Tokiya along with her. All the guys were surprised to see Tokiya allowing himself to dragged around like that.
"Uh Tokiya are you okay?" Otoya asked.
"Well let's jsut say my nannay can be very presuasive," said Tokiya, "Have you found Kazu?"
"No I'm afraid not," said Otoya.
"We'll help then," said Yuina, "Kazu, come out! Your father wants to talk to you. Don't worry he's not mad at you!"
"She's right Kazu. Please come out I just want to talk. I even promise I won't even scold you for this. Jusst come out please," Tokiya called out. The five adults kept calling out for Kazu for a while longer but stil no luck.
"Oh this is getting us nowhere!" said Syo after a while, "Why does Masato have to have such a big house that a kid like Kazu can get so lost in it we may never find him!"
"Maybe we need to try a differnet trick," said Yuia, "Does anyone know where the kitchen is?"
"What are you planning Yuina?" asked Otoya.
"Just show me to the kitchen," said Yuina.
"It's right this way," said Masato coming up behind her along with Ren.
"I take it you're not having much luck finding the kid?" asked Ren.
"No but like I said I have an idea. That is if you don't mind me using some of your things Mr. Hijirikawa," said Yuina.
"No please, my kitchen is at your disposal," said Masato showing her the way.
"Hmm, Masato never let's me use his kitchen," said Natsuki.
"Yeah and there's a good reason behind that!" said Syo.
"Thank you very much," said Yuina when Masato showed her the kitchn, "I'll try to be as tiday as possible and to use as little as necessary."
"It's no big deal if you think it'll help with finding Kazu," said Masato.
"Can I help at all Yui-Chan" Natsuki asked running in.
"Well I don't see why," Yuina started to say.
"Oh no!" Syo shouted as he came running in and dragging Natsuki out, "You'll only make the situation worse!"
"Oh Syo-Chan, I'm a great cook!" said Natsuki.
"Maybe I should just try this on my own," said Yuina as she started gathering up her things to bake with.
"Sure, but do let us know if you need any help," said Masato.
"What do you think she's going to do? Lure your son out with food?" Ren asked.
"She's a pretty good cook. She just might," said Tokiya.
After a while a delicious smell was filling the whole house.
"What did she make?" Otoya asked. Just then Yuina came out of the kitchen with two plates of cookies.
"Here, there's a few more plates in the kitchen as well including one for the other children. Everyone take a plate and walk around the house. I'm sure this will do the trick and get Kazu to come out," she said.
"You really think this will help?" Ren asked.
"It always worked when my parents used the same trick on me and my sister," sid Yuina.
"It's worth a shot," said Tokiya, "Let's try it her way for now."
"They do smell good. I bet even Kazu would have a hard time resisting these," said Otoya as each man grabbed a plate and stared to walk off.
"Hmm these do look and smell good," Natsuki said looking the cookies over, "But I bet I could add something to them to make them even better."
"Forget it !" said Syo, "We want to lure the kid out not scare him away permaanently!"
"I'll take the plate for the other children to them and then help you look for the boy," said Masato.
"Thank you," said Yuina, "I hope he's not doing anything to wreck your house."
"It's fine if he is. I'm sure he has a lot of build up anger he needs to get out," said Masato as he walked off. Yuina also walked off looking around for any sign of the lost boy.
She walked around for a while until she happened to come across a courtyard and walked out.
"Kazu, Kazu are you here?" she called out. She suddenly heard some rustling in some neaby bushes. "Kazu?" she said walking over to the bushes, "If you're in there, I have some cookies for you." At that a hand came out and tried to grab a cookie. Instead Yuina managed to grab at the hand and yank it, pulling Kazu right out into the open.
"Hi Kazu, do you want a cookie?" she asked.
"Yes, I guess," said Kazu looking at the cookies.
"Okay," said Yuina, "But first you and I are going to have a talk!"
