¿Qué pasa todos? Miss me? I missed you ; ) pero mi verano era tan breve. Back to school *cries.* So, long overdue update here, I know. I'll shut up and just let you get right to it. If you've forgotten what's happened I suggest you skim through the last 3 chapters or just embrace the confusion, heh.

Hours had passed and the two were still keeping to their room. It was one in the morning by now and even though they knew that everyone had gone home for the day, they weren't ready to face the outside world yet. Though for Light, it was more like he couldn't just get up and face the world—there lay some slight physical limitations to the human body.
The sound of Light's stomach growling eventually reached L's ears.
L stood from where he was sitting next to Light on the bed and asked, "Does Light want apples or salt?" Perhaps an odd question, but that did seem to be the food pattern the boy favored.
Light, laying on his stomach, lifted his head and stated, "An apple is fine."
L grabbed his cell phone, dialed for Watari, and said, "Key," before hanging up the phone.
Not more than 45 seconds later, the door clicked open and Watari, as composed as ever, walked over to the two and unlocked the cuff from L's wrist.
"Don't leave the bed," Watari ordered Light as he set L's unlatched cuff on the mattress.
"Couldn't if I tried," Light mumbled, burying his blushing face into his pillow.
Watari, showing no reaction to what Light just implied, added, "I enabled the cameras in this room after L asked for the key, and I will deactivate them again once he has returned to this room."
Light didn't reply, preferring to keep his face out of sight, and instead gave Watari a thumbs up.
Watari nodded to L and they both walked toward the door. Watari exited first, and just as L got to the door, the young detective turned toward the bed and quoted, "'L, do you know gods of death love apples.'" He escaped the room and shut the door just before that door was hit by the pillow promptly thrown by the one and only Yagami Light.
… … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … …
"Watari," L finally greeted the man once both were in the kitchen.
The grey haired man placed his hands on his hips, waiting.
L just stared back, not yielding any information.
Watari raised an eyebrow and spoke, switching to English, "It's not as if I don't already know."
"Then there is nothing to say except that Light is hungry and that I am low on sugar," L responded back in English, his face as unchanging as usual.
Watari exhaled and turned toward the stove to pour the soup he had been cooking before interrupted by L's phone call.
"He only wants an apple," L stated, now perched on a counter, plopping sugar cubes into his mouth as he watched Watari prep.
Watari gathered other food items onto a tray while he replied, "I'm going to assume he needs more nutrition than what could be provided by one apple."
L continued eating pure sugar, his face blank.
Watari finished assembling the tray with the addition of one small red apple.
When Watari turned back to L, L inquired, "Was anything discovered about the case?"
"I would have already told you if there was."
"Thank you," L stated in his bored tone as he jumped off the counter to walk with Watari back to the room.
They walked in silence, L's back hunched slightly more than usual, before Watari broke the silence, "I don't disapprove, L."
L's eyes widened slightly, "Why not?"
"I like who you've become after meeting Light," Watari stated simply, as they continued their walk.
L's spine straightened 10 degrees and he looked to the floor; he had changed quite a bit since meeting Light. The things that changed were small and gradual, but now, in hindsight, the changes had added up. Not only had he gone from being repulsed by human touch to desiring and engaging in sexual intercourse, but he'd also gone from barely comprehending human emotions to having human emotions. He was no longer just an unbiased observer to the world, he actually felt as if he was a part of the world—and that was a huge change.
Watari continued with a warning, "But don't let this blind you from seeing the truth."
"I already am certain that he is Kira," L stated, rejecting the implication that he would ignore anything negative about Light that had been determined.
"I mean more than that," Watari corrected.
He stopped walking a few paces before the bedroom door. L stopped as well.
"L," Watari said with authority. He waited for L to make eye contact with him before he continued, "I mean to warn you to see everything; you are sure that Light is the first Kira, and I agree with this conclusion, but do not forget who Light is when he is just Light and do not ignore what he becomes when he again changes to Kira, as we both know is likely to happen."
"I do already know this," L stated, keeping his eyes locked with Watari's.
Watari nodded, "I'm sure you do, but I wouldn't have said it if I thought it was a waste of time to reinforce it."
They continued walking, but when they got to the door, Watari stopped again and said to L, "Light doesn't know Russian, am I correct?"
"Correct," L affirmed, reminding himself to meet Watari's waiting eyes.
When he had L's eye contact, Watari switched to Russian and plainly stated, "You have realized that you like him."
Matching the language change, L affirmed, "Yes."
Watari then asked, "You have realized that you love him?"
L's eyes flickered away from Watari's stare and his thumb found its way to his lips, wordlessly giving away the answer before he forced himself to whisper, "Yes." He bit on his thumb to keep from blushing; again he wondered how he even had the ability to blush.
"That's good then," Watari stated in English, smiling when he unlocked the door.
… … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … …
Still lying on his stomach, Light fell asleep as soon as he finished eating the food Watari had provided. L knew that sleep would not be welcoming him this night, and so he spent the time watching the boy sleep, like usual. Yes, he could admit to himself that he was in love with this boy in all meanings and definitions of the word, but he wasn't quite sure what he should do with this information.
He sifted through the options and the possible outcomes; there were too many to think of in the span of one night, but he could think of the major points . . . so long as he could stop getting distracted while gazing at Light's innocent, sleeping face.
He thought through the first issue: Light's father and the investigation team. He had no idea what stance Light's father took on homosexuality (and it just occurred to him that he and Light were in fact homosexual—L was still surprised that he was anything other than asexual), but, the boy's father hadn't immediately demanded that L open the door and free his son. Likewise, he didn't seem to want to know if they were romantically involved, but that could have just been because it was Matsuda who was asking the insanely lewd question. Maybe Light's father was neutral about the issue and at the very least wouldn't kill L on sight . . . but now that Light would undoubtedly be limping . . . well, who knows.
L took a moment to shake himself from his thoughts and since there was no one around to see, he blushed furiously and held his hands to his face. 'What is wrong with me!?' he screamed in his head as the memories of lust and realization of love flashed like a movie before his mind's eye. 'How could I be so stupid?!' He had interrupted the investigation—during working hours, even—and had sex with the one and only son of the one and only police chief actually helping with the investigation.
Twice.
In the span of 1 hour.
Light wouldn't be able to walk or sit properly and THAT was a dead giveaway that not only had L actually participated in sex with the boy, but that he'd been the one to—
'—STOP. That thought: stop,' L interrupted himself.
So most likely:
1) Light's father would try to ignore the issue as if he knew nothing
2) Light's father would be irritated or embarrassed, but not do anything
3) Light's father would be embarrassed and concerned; he might possibly try to talk Light out of it, whatever "it" may be
4) Light's father would kill L as soon as he saw his only son limping into the investigation room with his last encounter having been L demanding his son that they both go into the bedroom.
L shook his head violently to clear out the blood forcing him to blush. L decided that he could probably survive all of the most likely outcomes, so he took a shaky breath and went on to the next issue: Light was Kira.
This didn't bother him much; in fact, he really didn't give a shit at this point, or ever. L was detached from matters like this and he wasn't about to change now, but the next issue meant more to him: Light would become Kira again . . . and probably soon.
This was more pressing considering that L had no idea how Light would react once he got his memories back. He hoped that the fear Light showed during his many nightmares was a good indication that Light wouldn't want to be Kira again. He also hoped that Light would still love him; not just because he was selfish, but also because if he still had feelings for L, then he would hesitate to kill again, right? '…right?'
. . . So most likely:
1) Light would snap and go insane
2) Light would snap back into Kira and go on a secret killing spree
3) Light would reject that he was Kira and try to keep it hidden from L
4) Light would accept that he had been Kira and confess to L
'Number 4 is the smartest thing he could possibly do,' L thought to himself after replaying all of their conversations in his head. After a while, 4 felt like the most possible outcome as well, if all things went as L was hoping. He continued staring at the sleeping boy. Light really was physically very attractive. L hadn't noticed when they first met. He didn't really notice until this week just how physically attractive Light was to him; he'd realized that the boy was considered attractive, but he just never cared. This former little murderer's personality and intellect were even more attractive, in L's opinion. Balling up all three concludes: Light was the hottest potential threat L had ever come to encounter.
"Ugh," L groaned in frustration while still admiring Light. He liked it better when he was completely detached and oblivious to human emotion; things had been simpler, more black and white.
At that moment, Light groaned slightly in his sleep. 'Nightmare,' L assessed in a second after watching the boy's face shift from contented slumber to disturbed. From what Light had told L of his nightmares, the boy feared the Kira that tormented him in his sleep. L wondered why Kira would frighten Light rather than promise him the powers of gods, but maybe this was just the Kira Light envisioned . . . but then again, Light's nightmares seemed to be much too vivid to just be sleep induced delta waves. L shrugged; he knew little of dream psychology and even less of matters involving shinigami and the supernatural.
He placed a hand onto Light's soft hair and trailed it down the boy's bare back, feeling the smooth skin and watching the fear erase itself from the boy's flawless face.
Light exhaled deeply in his sleep and L felt the corner of his lips pull upward into a smile. He had lied to himself: he liked feeling these new emotions. Light was his first friend. Light was his first love.
L lied down next to Light on the bed and thought to himself, 'I want him to be my only love.' He smiled softly to himself and kissed the sleeping boy's cheek.
After five minutes, Light fell into another nightmare, but instead of fear, he looked sad. 'No, not sad,' L corrected, watching every change in the boy's features. A tear slid down Light's face; he looked much more depressed than just sad. L scooted closer to Light and wrapped an arm around him. Light instinctively nuzzled up to L and kissed the man's neck, his face fell back to neutral as he continued sleeping.
L continued to gaze at the one he'd fallen in love with for the rest of the night.
Of course, he was still going over every possible outcome that could happen over the course of the next few days; after all, they had to stop the current Kira.

Eh? Eh? You like? I like, so that's that.
So, I reread this fic before continuing (for continuity, ya know what I'm saying homie?) and realized that the first 4 chapters sucked so hard it hurt, so I did edit those; I say that in case you got 5 notifications and you're like, what the fuck? That's the fuck you were searching for.
I often wonder how many languages L's got floating around in his brain. If any of ya'll've seen the 3rd Death Note movie (L Change the WorLd), my favorite scene is near the beginning when he's completing all his unfinished cases (I assume they were put on standby due to the Kira case) 'cuz of all the languages the actor glosses over (plus I think the actor is hot, so of course I'm gonna swoon a little at every language change, am I right?).
*coughs awkwardly* anyhoo, that's the end of this chapter, please please PLEASE review and tell me everything you've ever wanted to tell me in your whole entire life! (…) or just about the chapter, heheh.
Os amo muchísimo ; )
~Aia~
p.s. so . . . Kira?
