I'm finally back! With much thanks to HP-TMI-TS for the absolutely genius idea that got me writing again, thanks so much, I really appreciate it! Anyway, I hope you enjoy it and please review. Even if it is to yell at me for being away for so long. :P

"Can I have some coffee?" Jace asked, still slumped in one of the chairs, despite Magnus having asked him to leave multiple times so he wouldn't become mentally scarred.

"No you can't." Magnus said crossly. "You drank all of it. Every. Last. Drop."

Jace held his hands up in defence. "Don't blame me if your coffee supplies are inadequate. And can't you just get some more? You know..." He clicked his fingers to demonstrate.

Magnus shrugged noncommittally. "I could..." He thought, "but I'm too tired and you're you. So no I'm afraid."

"Just get him some coffee." Izzy sighed. "I don't need you two arguing."

Magnus pouted. "But I'm tired. And he's the one that drank all the coffee, so why should I be getting him anymore?"

"Because he's your boyfriend's brother?" Izzy rolled her eyes at him, sitting back in her chair.

"Don't do it if you're too tired." Alec put in. "Jace, don't be annoying."

Jace placed his hand over his heart. "Me? Annoying? Alexander, I'm hurt that you would think of me like that." He chuckled lightly.

Alec chucked a pillow at his head. "Don't be so melodramatic." He smirked. "And of course you're annoying. You're my brother, I kind of have to say that."

Jace just rolled his eyes and got up. "I'm going to go and buy some coffee, since someone can't be bothered to get some." He glared at Magnus, who just waved a hand at him lazily.

"Hang on, I'll come with you." Isabelle stood up and grabbed her jacket from the coathook. "I guess we'll see you guys later then?"

Alec nodded, standing up to walk them out. "We'll be here, so feel free to drop in."

As they approached the door, Isabelle lowered her voice to a whisper. "Is Magnus okay?" She asked tentatively.

"I think he's just worried about Chris, that's all. He'll be back to his usual self soon." He hugged Izzy quickly before opening the door.

"See you later then." Jace said, stepping outside, shortly followed by Izzy.

"Bye." Alec smiled and closed the door. He walked back over to the sofa and sat down next to Magnus.

Magnus looked up. "Are they gone?"

Alec nodded. Magnus smirked and clicked his fingers, a cup of coffee appearing in his hand. Alec raised his eyebrows at him.

"What?" Magnus exclaimed. "Yes, I'm tired, but not tired enough that I can't get coffee." He took a small sip. "I just didn't want to get Jace any. He doesn't deserve it."

Alec chuckled. "That's a bit harsh, isn't it? You've just made him leave to go and get coffee, when you could have got him some."

Magnus shrugged. "My coffee." he stated, as if that was an acceptable answer.

Alec rolled his eyes and leant his head against Magnus's shoulder. "Are you sure you're okay?"

Magnus sighed. "I'm fine, honestly. Just a little worried about Chris, which is understandable. I just don't trust Mr Noble, that's all. He seems like one of those people who always has an ulterior motive, if you know what I mean."

"I can't say that I do. He seemed okay to me, but you're better at judging people than I am, I suppose." Alec closed his eyes.

Magnus took another sip of his coffee. "And what makes you say that?" He asked.

"Well, you judged me pretty well when you first met me. Even though it was all a little bit strange at first, but we got there in the end." Alec smiled up at him and kissed him lightly on the cheek.

Just then the dooorbell rang. Magnus quickly sat upright, staring at the door with a panicked expression on his face.

"It's Jace. He knows I have coffee. He can smell it, like an animal can smell fear."

Alec chuckled and sighed. "Stop over-reacting. It's fine."

Magnus hid the coffee behind the sofa as Alec went to answer the door.

He opened it to find a woman standing at the door.

"Hello. My name is Miss Rushmore from the children's home. I'm here to collect Christopher."
