Chapter 21: Memories
"What are you thinking about?"
Sheila walked in close and leaned an arm on his shoulder, working around the plating of his armor, resting her chin on top of the shoulder plating. Javik looked slightly at her, and then down at their reflection in the water.
"How similar, yet different, this cycle is compared to my own…" he said, voice much lighter than it would have been if he had been around others.
"Still pains you to think about your own time, doesn't it?" she asked and relaxed further against him. She didn't really have to ask. She could feel it through him as he was much more open to her than he was to others, his abilities not on full speed, but she was allowed to feel some through touch.
He nodded none the less.
"Yes… To know that I am the last of my kind, the mere thought of having to avenge an entire people. It is… a heavy burden…" he said, clearly being pained by this fact, but as she looked at their reflections there was a small change.
"But living in this cycle has also brought some enjoyment." He said and she looked at the ancient alien. She didn't have to ask. He allowed it flow through him to where her hands were rested against him and let her see and feel what he meant. She was a valued fellow soldier, a prized friend, and of course, he enjoyed their many encounters, especially if he was the one saying when and where.
She didn't have to be connected to his abilities to know he was lusting for her already. The sheer look in his eyes was enough for her to know he wanted to strip her clean and claim her hard; if he was allowed. Unfortunately (or should one say, fortunately), Sheila knew how to play this game and if Javik wanted dominance, he would have to fight for it.
And he willingly did.
Sometimes she was worried about him. Whenever they discussed something from his past, he turned a hundred and eighty degrees and went from neutral to lust hungry in seconds. Sometimes she feared he would never talk, but she also knew he had spoken to her more than any other.
In their moments of climax, in the outmost exhausting seconds of bliss, Javik would lower his defenses and allowed her to experience his life from one end to the other. She wasn't sure if it was something he did on purpose, or if it was mistakes from his side. She wasn't sure if he had done it to begin with, and if he had, she couldn't remember it. But despite it all, it made her proud…
She knew more about Javik than anyone would ever know. She had a part of his life… and of his memories…
