RWBY belongs to Monty Oum and Roosterteeth

All OC's belong to their respective owners

Extra-long chapter!

Jaune woke up in a good mood and was ready for the day. He went about his morning routine and got dressed. He didn't see any of his teammates or any members of team RWBY seeing as they all already left. He knocked on team RWBY's door and as a response got a grunt that he identified as Ruby. Jaune decided to just let her sleep especially with what they went through the previous night. He decided to go look for everyone else and find out exactly what Pyrrha wanted to discuss.

Upon exiting Jiji's house he noticed Yang playing with a bunch of little kids. He made his way over to her when he noticed it wasn't just Yang but the rest of his team along with Ruby's team.

"Umm… Yang.

"Oh hey Jaune glad to see you're awake!"

"Thanks"

"So whatcha need?"

"Wondering what in the name of Monty are you doing?"

"Oh well ya see I was goin for a walk around town and a bunch kids came up and asked me to play a game of kickball and I just couldn't resist their adorable faces.

"Uh-huh"

"So we started playing and right off the bat the teams were unfair so I got Blake to join in, took a little bit of work to convince her but she eventually got into it and then Nora wanted to play so Ren joined in to even up the teams."

"m'kay"

"Then Pyrrha saw what was goin on and couldn't resist a good ol' fashion game of kickball. After that all I had to do was get the ice queen to play."

"How in the hell did you do it?"

"Some reverse psychology. Said she wasn't good enough to be in the game and as we all know our ice queen was more than willing to 'show us how it's really done'."

"Aren't you and Nora supposed to be training with Jiji right now?"

"Who do ya think is referee?"

Jaune looked behind Yang and examined the field until he spotted Jiji in a referee T-shirt with a whistle in his mouth.

"Are you serious?"

"Come on Jauney-boy we've been training our tails off, we're just doing a teamwork exercise. Besides don't you think your team deserves a day off for all their hard work?"

"hmmmm"

"Pleeease"

"Which team am I on?"

Yang smiled and pointed outfield.

"You're on mine; we need you to balance out the teams since we got an uneven match."

Jaune looked over her shoulder and noticed someone standing behind Pyrrha in the line to kick the ball. The figure stood up and revealed himself.

"SILVER!"

"Wait wait wait Jaune he's on our side now!"

"SIL- wait…what?"

"Yeah he refused the job and he's helping us protect the old man"

"And you believe him?!"

"He seems like an alright guy and plus Pyrrha seems to have a lot of faith in him."

"…I don't quite trust him yet."

"Just get out there on second base"

*PREVIOUS NIGHT*

Silver was pacing back and forth in his room. He had sent a message to his employer and was waiting for a response. Finally after twenty minutes his scroll rang. He jumped at the sudden ring tone but quickly answered it.

"Silver what is the meaning of this?!"

"It's as I said in the message, I'm not doing it."

"Is this because of your sister?"

"HOW DO YOU KNOW ABOUT HER?!" he shouted angrily

"I do my background checks Silver. What kind of amateur do you think I am? How much more money do you want?"

"You listen and listen well. I am not going to fight my sister. Family comes before business. Always. Do you understand me?"

He heard a grunt and some shuffling on the other end.

"Hire all the mercenaries you want but know this. I am also protecting this village now."

The phone call ended with that. Silver had gotten his message across and could finally rest.

*PRESENT*

Jaune was on second base and was eyeing Silver. Silver made eye contact with Jaune and they were having and intense stare down and could not be bothered with anything else.

It was time for Silver to kick and he still was staring at Jaune.

Yang pitched the ball and he kicked it as hard as he could. It was going straight for Jaune, or at least was going for Jaune until Ren got in the way.

"I GOT I- BLLAAAARGH" was all Ren could say before the ball made contact with his face. Everyone on the field broke out into laughter, even Blake couldn't help but to laugh. The tension seemed to dissolve between Silver and Jaune.

The rest of the afternoon was spent playing a heated game of kickball. Training resumed after that and before they knew it night had fallen and it was time for the second trial

Jaune met up with Ruby before they departed for the ruins and made sure they had everything they needed. While on their way to the ruins Ruby decided to ask a question that had been bugging her.

"So you and Silver are friends now?"

"Yep, kickball starts friendships."

"I see"

"That and Pyrrha finally explained the whole situation so we're good, but I'm still keeping my eye on him just in case."

"Now that makes sense" Ruby said

They finally made it to the ruins and walked through the entrance. Just like the previous night as soon as they walked through the entrance it disappeared. Jiji met up with them and showed them which portal would be next.

"Are you two ready for this?" asked Jiji. Both Ruby and Jaune nodded. Jaune looked into the pool and could only imagine what awaited them. Ruby jumped in first followed by Jaune.

They awoke in the middle of a meadow. Jaune looked around and noticed that it was full of flowers; every flower that Jaune could think of was there and then some. Ruby had already woken up and was examining some flowers. Upon further inspection he noticed that she wasn't alone. There were two white silhouettes on either side of her.

"Ruby look out!" Jaune yelled. He stood up and scurried over to her. Ruby turned around and noticed Jaune holding his sword and pointing at the white silhouettes.

"Oh hey Jaune, these are my two new friends. Baboi and Baboi #2. There not dangerous, there really friendly"

"Baboi" one of the silhouettes said

"…"

"Why are you staring at me like that?"

"You made friends with two things that we just met AND you named them."

"Baboi"

"Hey you wouldn't wake up and I was bored."

"Baboi"

"So you're first instinct is to make friends with them, you don't even know if they're dangerous!"

"Baboi"

"There harmless and they make the cutest sound."

"Baboi"

"Yeah I noticed they won't stop making the sound."

"These guys are harmless and even if they tried to attack I got my sweetheart here." Ruby said hugging her death machine.

"So it let us have our weapons this time."

"Yep"

"Umm Ruby"

"Yea"

"When did we get surrounded?"

"I have no idea"

Jaune looked around and saw an endless ocean of the white silhouettes. The silhouettes then started forming circles around Jaune and Ruby. Jaune and Ruby got back to back and pulled out their weapons.

"Ruby what's going on?"

"I don't know I thought there were only two!"

The silhouettes then started dancing in their circles. They started making their noises in almost a song like form. This caught Jaune and Ruby completely off guard.

"What are they doing now?" asked Ruby

"Singing and dancing?"

After they finished their singing and dancing a pathway opened up and a white silhouette holding two crowns made of flowers was walking towards them. Once it reached them it placed the crowns on Jaune and Ruby's head. The silhouette quickly backed away and kneeled. The rest of the white silhouettes followed the first and kneeled.

"What…just happened." asked Jaune

"I think we just became their rulers." Said Ruby

Jaune didn't respond. He noticed a small group of silhouettes on the far edge of the meadow. They were closely huddled and Jaune thought they looked they were whispering to one another. After another minute they stopped whispering and just stood like they were frozen. One silhouette of the group turned to Jaune and pointed at him. It released a deafening screech and the once white silhouette turned pitch black and two red orbs appeared where its eyes normally would beif it were a normal person. The rest of the silhouettes in the group also turned pitch black and charged at Jaune and Ruby. More black silhouettes emerged from the ground until there were about as many black silhouettes as there were white. They pulled weapons out of there bodies and charged into the crowd of white silhouettes. The white silhouettes turned and engaged in combat. Soon they were engaged in a huge battle. Every time one was killed it turned into a misty like substance and floated away only to be reborn later on.

Jaune and Ruby stuck close together and tried to fend off as many black silhouettes as possible. Jaune fought with all his might and tried to summon his aura but it wouldn't respond. Ruby was dashing all over the battlefield taking out anything that stood in her way. Jaune didn't see this fight coming to an end since every time one was cut down it would just respawn a few minutes later.

Jaune didn't how long the fight had been going on but it felt like hours and he was wearing out fast. Even Ruby had begun to slow down and wasn't responding as fast. Jaune had a few cuts and bruises but for the most part he hadn't suffered any major injuries. He kept hacking at the enemies and didn't stop. Sometime throughout the battle all the silhouettes had turned gray but that didn't even phase Jaune. He was in a trance of hack, slash, stab, block, and roll. The same thing happened to Ruby, she didn't seem to care. Jaune had snapped out of this trance after one of the gray silhouettes punched him in the face.

He looked around the battlefield and saw just a brutal massacre. There weren't any sides anymore, everyone was fighting everyone. The once beautiful meadow had been trampled and destroyed. The place was once full of life but now there was just death and destruction. One of the gray silhouettes reached for the crown of flowers still on Jaune's head but disappeared when Jaune stabbed him. He took off the crown; he hadn't noticed that he was still wearing it. It was completely unscathed and irradiated a small glow. He looked over at Ruby and noticed that she also still had her crown on. It looked like it was stuck on her head. He made his way over to Ruby while calling her name.

She noticed Jaune's shouts after his third call and made her way over to him.

She met up with him and they were back to back once again.

"Ruby I think I know what they want."

"What?"

"The crowns, they want the crowns."

"These stupid flower crowns?"

"Yea"

"Well then let's give it to them already!"

"Wait a sec, just listen to my plan."

After Jaune told Ruby his plan he quickly made his way to the center of the fighting. Ruby closely followed him and took out anything that tried to attack them.

Jaune stood in the middle of the battle and saw that the fighting was still not letting up.

"Stop! Everyone stop fighting!" he yelled, but his shouts were unheard to everyone except Ruby

"I…Said…STOP!" he yelled, but this time his aura flared and that caught everyone's attention. The gray silhouettes turned into a mixture of black and white. "I want one person from each side to step forward!" he commanded with an angry tone. One black silhouette and one white silhouette stepped forward. Jaune looked back at Ruby and nodded. She nodded back and took off her crown. She then placed it on the black silhouette while Jaune put his on the white silhouette. They stepped back and waited for a response from the two armies. There was a long period of silence as everyone just stood still.

The two armies then came together and started dancing once again.

"Dear God you guys are a bunch of animals." Jaune muttered. There was a bright flash and they were back at the ruins.

"So how did it go?" Jiji asked

"Yea I don't know what the hell I just saw" said Jaune.

"I think we just united two armies" Ruby said with a hopeful smile.

"That was pure insanity back there."

"Yea these trials typically don't make sense but did you learn anything out of it." Jiji asked.

"Not really" Jaune said

"hmmmm…ponder on it and you might just have to think a little harder. And you Ruby? Did you learn anything?"

"Mmmhmm" Ruby said with a nod of her head.

"Whisper it to me."

"*whispers*"

"Very good, you are quite the perceptive one."

"What did you say?"

"Not telling"

"Jaune" Jiji interrupted

"Yes?"

"I watched your battle and I noticed two key things about your aura."

"And that is…"

"That you can't activate it unless you're under extreme stress and when you do activate it you use all of it at once. That's not good for your aura reservations or your body. Which is why it's time I teach you how to use your aura to its maximum potential."

"Sweet!"

"Tomorrow morning, be here by sunrise"

"Uuuugh"

"For now you may go"

Jaune and Ruby made it back to the village earlier this time. They said their goodbyes and went to their rooms. Jaune went to sleep with anticipation for the next day. He was finally gonna be able to use his aura. Jaune couldn't help but ponder on what the trial's real meaning was. He kept thinking over the battle but he just didn't get it. He gave up and went to sleep, it would have to wait until tomorrow.

Polls:

Ruby-2

Blake-2

Pyrrha-1

Harem-1

I'm on a roll this week. I should have mentioned this before but the poll doesn't have to be just one girl. It can be a harem as well and only one vote per person but due to my screw up, anyone that has already voted can recast their vote for someone else. If you still stick by your choice then just leave it as is. I've also got another surprise for you guys that I will reveal in a few chapters that I think you will all like. As always please leave a review and have a good day, Carnage out.
