Chapter 21
It had been weeks later and Cole was now at his newly inherited home of Hearthfire and was learning of the one called Miraak.
"Miraak is Dragonborn like you, he was also The First and very dangerous." Serana explained.
"Dangerous…in what way?" Cole asked.
"Cole, he sent Alduin through time and on his path to being Dragonborn he decided to not save the world but rule it, he began dabbling in the dark arts and eventually he became a servant and champion to Hermerus Mora." Serana explained Miraak's history.
"The Daedric God yeah I read about him in Coldar's journal, they fought right?" Cole asked.
"They did…it was the last time I ever saw him." Serana said near to crying as it was a sensitive subject.
"He died fighting him?" Cole asked.
"I don't know, no one ever saw or heard from him again it's like he vanished and only one person knows the truth." Serana said.
"Miraak, how do we find him?" Cole asked.
"He's a master of the shadows and he can conceal himself as anyone but I'm still finding it hard to know how he has returned all of this time?" Serana questioned Miraak's return.
"Maybe he's been planning this for a long time? But maybe the library can tell us more about him?" Cole said as she nodded in agreement.
They went there but as they arrived it was already occupied by Elis, Gwen and Astrid.
"Ladies? I wasn't aware of this meeting in my home." Cole asked as they all snapped from what they were reading.
"Sorry Cole, Gwen wanted to see the massive amounts of magic books and Astrid was around so she joined us." Elis explained.
"Oh…well we needed to find info on Miraak." Cole told of why he and Serana were there.
"Miraak?" the girls all said in unison.
"You've all heard of him?" Cole asked.
They all revealed what they were reading about as it was all stories or knowledge towards The First Dragonborn of Skyrim.
"Guess I should be surprised well I am how'd you all know?" Cole asked.
Astrid sat up and walked over to him. "Cole when Gwendolyn told me the name I immediately asked Elisif to bring us here so we could find more information on him, even the brotherhood fears him." she said.
"He's that bad then how was he even defeated?" Cole asked.
"That's the thing we don't know if he was, history sort of lost track of him during some incident on an island called Solstheim which is far out into the Antarctic ocean." Gwen said.
"Then that's the next stop." Cole said making it clear what was next.
"I'll start looking, this might take me some time." Elis said as she began her research.
"I'll help you." Serana said. "Rest of you go be normal for a while you might not get that chance after this." she said as they all did that.
Cole, Astrid and Gwen left them to it as they teleported back to Bellwood.
"I'm gonna go see Kevin, see you later." Gwen said as she went to call him.
Cole then took Astrid by her hand. "Cole?" Astrid said as he was leading her.
"I believe I owe you dinner?" Cole said to her as she giggled.
They then embraced. "You already gave me dinner…" as they then kissed for a few minutes. "…over and over again." she huskily said.
"No, this time I really mean dinner, that was called skipping a few tiers in a relationship." Cole said.
"Maybe so but if we're getting dinner we're going to have a delicacy I know of called sushi." Astrid made her choice to him known.
"Ah raw fish, I spent six months in a Japanese restaurant waiting tables, even picked up some Japanese." Cole said.
"Really I would like to see you interpret all our menu orders." Astrid requested of him.
"Astrid…anata wa watashi no aisuruo nozomu yo ni.(as you wish my dear.)" Cole spoke fluently.
They went off to the restaurant for their romantic dinner.

Cole's brother was now in a meeting with his right hand man.
"Any news on them?"
"None my lord but since Harkon failed to kill the Dovahkiin but it seems that The World Eater has awoken."
"Alduin? I did not sense him…unless…oh…we need to make a journey now." he said.
"To where my lord?"
"To see an acquaintance." he specified their journey destination.

Cole and Astrid were in the restaurant and were in the middle of eating their meal.
"This is wonderful Cole and the ingredients they are using are most delectable." Astrid said in between bites.
"I know when I worked in one of these places they really fry the hell out of their fish and the presentation is also what makes it more appealing." Cole said as he was digging into some teriyaki beef.
"It is quite lovely and thank you once more Cole for this lovely meal." Astrid thanked her boyfriend.
"No problem my lady deserves fine things and besides if this is the time we'll have left until the storm begins then I'm doing it all now." Cole said.
Then Astrid placed her hand on top of Cole's and looked him in the eyes.
"Cole…there's something I need to tell you." Astrid said as he felt this wasn't going to be good.
"Astrid whatever it is it can't be bad unless your about to tell me your pregnant which of course I fully support your decision then it's okay whatever it is." Cole said understanding her.
She was about to tell him. "Actually it's nothing I just want to enjoy this day with you." she said as they both kissed and went back to their date.

Meanwhile Gwen and Kevin were catching up with Ben in Kevin's garage on all he had missed.
"Vampires…man I missed some good action." Ben said as he was disappointed he missed the encounter with Harkon.
"Your bummed out you missed our fight with Vampires?" Kevin said.
"I almost became one just to remind you!" Gwen said as the encounter was still fresh in her mind.
"Yeah well lucky for you Cole once again saved the day." Ben said.
"Kevin was also the hero Ben and with Serana helping them they stopped Harkon." Gwen corrected her cousin.
"Cole was going to town on Harkon especially when he busted out that new shout of his and laid the smack down on him." Kevin spoke of Cole's handling of the situation.
"But Serana killed Harkon making sure Cole didn't for some reason." Gwen said.
"I thought he was gonna do it at some points but still I'm kinda glad he didn't." Kevin said as the thought of murder did disturb them slightly.
"Is Cole ok?" Ben asked about his friends well being.
"He's good since he and Astrid got together it's been smooth sailing for them both." Gwen said.
"I've been hearing about that from Elis who has heard quite a lot from them." Kevin hinted at what he meant.
"Aw man how does he get it all and I'm stuck with the scraps after I saved the universe for the gazillionth time!?" Ben complained.
"Because your you and are you still down Julie broke up with you again?" Kevin asked.
"I'm not really surprised she did, you didn't show up for her match last week and you even blew her off for a dinner date." Gwen explained his reasons for him now being single.
"I told her I had to stop Animo again he was planning to use mutated farm animals to try and take over the state of Nebraska!" Ben defended himself.
"You know that doesn't excuse you from forgetting about her." Gwen reminded him.
"Whatever guess it's back to being single, hey is Elis available?" Ben asked as Kevin chuckled hearing that.
"What's so funny?" Gwen asked him as he whispered to her ear why and she started to giggle.
"Uh what is that hilarious that I'm planning to ask out Elis?" Ben asked now confused as they were holding in their laughter.
"Let's just say you ain't her type." Kevin said as that once again confused him.
"What do you-oh wait is she a vegetarian because I don't do organic stuff!" Ben complained.
As then a portal opened and out came Elis.
"Hey Elis can we talk a second?" Ben asked.
"Yeah what's up?" Elis said as they went to one side.
"Should we…?" Kevin asked his girlfriend.
"No let's watch the train wreck that is Benjamin Kirby Tennyson." Gwen said to her boyfriend.
"One second." Kevin said pulling out his phone.
They watched Ben take his shot at asking the young sorceress out and then in came the answer and…
"Huh?" Ben said as he wasn't sure how to respond to the answer given to him as Elis planted a kiss on his forehead and left him there confused.
She walked over to Gwen and Kevin who were trying not to laugh at Ben's predicament but Ben could see it clearly they knew what was going on.
"Someone tell me what is going on?" Ben asked now still confused.
"Yes Elisif what is going on?" Kevin sarcastically asked.
"Ben here asked me out on a date and I'm afraid I declined." Elis said.
"Yeah but why not?!" Ben asked now really confused.
Gwen not trying to laugh spoke up. "C'mon Benny you need to really think about it." she said trying to make him guess.
He gave it some thought and started to add up everything and then it hit him.
"Ohhhh." he said in realisation. "Ohhhh!" he then said again in a more joyous manner. "Ohhhh." then again in a depressing manner knowing what else that meant.
"Sorry Ben I didn't mean to let you down like that but if I was I'd consider dating you but if I had my choice I'd date your cousin." Elis said as Gwen went red.
Kevin just burst out laughing hearing that as Ben felt annoyed and confused while Gwen was just embarrassed by this.
"And Gwen if and if you decide to jump ship at some point then I know a very warm and relaxing place out in the Bahamas where no one can disturb us." Elis said again hitting on her.
"Elis…please stop." Gwen muttered as she hid her crimson face from everyone.
"Sorry Gwen but I can't help it if you have such an attractive a-"
As then the door opened and in came Cole who interrupted the conversation.
"Hey Ben I got something to say." Cole said as he held in his hands on his phone a video courtesy of Kevin Ben's failure to ask Elis out.
"Kev you didn't?!" Ben said as Kevin was smirking at him.
Cole then typed something below the video. "#ElisBlocked." he hit post on the phone and the video was up on social media.
"Dude!" Ben said as now his humiliation went viral.
"You broke bro code and you cheated on sumo slammers last week so it's payback." Cole said as he got some revenge there.
"Whatever you suck." Ben said as he sat down defeated.
"Where's Astrid?" Gwen asked Cole.
"She said she had something to do, but I'm not so sure she's being honest with me." Cole said.
"Really how?" Elis asked.
"She wanted to tell me something and it got her concerned and then she didn't want to talk about it, I'm just worried about her." Cole expressed his concerns for his girlfriend.
"I'm sure when she's ready she'll tell you, I mean it's probably nothing serious just something personal is all." Gwen reassured him.
"Or she's jumping ship to your sister?" Ben came in.
Cole knowing he was trying to get at him for earlier. "Ben dude you do realise that I have the power of a god right?" he reminded him of how powerful he is.
"And I have the Omnitrix so I equally have the power." Ben came back.
"Oh it's on now." Kevin said as a fight was about to break off.
Both guys stepped opposite ends of the place and were in a western showdown.
"Warning you Benny boy, I can beat you before you even reach for that dial." Cole said.
But it didn't shake Ben hearing that. "Yeah you and many bad guys have said the same, so stop flapping your gums and bring it." he said as it was about to get real.
All eyes were on the duel that was about to happen.
"Ten bucks says Tennyson flukes a win." Kevin said making a bet.
"Twenty says Cole owns him in seconds." Elis said shaking hands with Kevin agreeing on the bet as Gwen rolled her eyes at that.
The fight was about to begin as Ben went for his Omnitrix dial and Cole opened his mouth…
"TIID-KLO-UI!" Cole shouted as time slowed down.
Cole just strolled on over to Ben and the shout ended.
"Going XLR8!" Ben said hitting his wrist and looked to see that's all he hit. "Huh?! What the?!" he said.
"Ahem." Cole said appearing from behind holding his Omnitrix in his hand as he handed it back to him.
"How'd you get it off?!" Ben asked confused to how he even did that.
"You change your access code each week and you can't remember it so you write it on your hand." Cole pointed out his massive flaw.
Elis then made the hand gesture of money and Kevin reluctantly handed over her winnings.
"I gotta stop doing that, I need a diary or a new combination to keep this under lock." Ben said as he knew he was beat.
A portal opened up and out came Serana and she seemed to have news.
"Everyone it is time, we will embark immediately." she said as they had found Solstheim.
"I'll fire up the Rustbucket." Kevin said.
"Better call Astrid." Cole said.

In a unknown location Cole's brother was standing in the middle of a stone platform.
"So you return." a voice echoed throughout the place.
"Yes and you know what this means?" Cole's brother asked.
"Indeed a new Dovahkiin has arisen, time we ended him before he is able to stop us."
"I take it you'll send your…champion after him?" Cole's brother asked.
A figure dressed in black armour with a sword and shield approached and kneeled.
"Oh brother you have met your match this time."
The journey begins but now what will come of it? Who did Cole's brother see? Who is his champion?
