"This is crazy I can't be naming this baby… it isn't mine! I can't have it." Jocelyn said.

"It's completely your decision. But listen Jocelyn the biological family doesn't want her and neither does the adoptive one. Finding a suitable family for this baby could take a long time. You've already raised a child who turned out relatively sane, you'll know how to raise this one." Catarina pointed out.

"Geez thanks…" Clary said.

"But Luke…" Jocelyn pointed out.

"He'll completely understand." I interjected, "Stop worrying it's not like he won't let you keep it." Jocelyn looked down at the baby girl. "This child is absolutely precious I can't believe it almost died."
"It did die…" Caterina said, "Marcella you just brought things back to life and one day you may have to pay the cost for that… There's always a price to pay for these kinds of things. Bringing these babies to life changes everything, it changes fate it changes people's lives."

"…I don't care about that right now I know I should be worried about that but, as long as they're safe I'm not worried."

"You've changed how things were meant to be, how things were supposed to go! Do you realize how serious this is?"

"Of course I know how important this is! I wasn't even meant to be here in the first place. I don't care about myself so I'm not concerned with what'll happen to me."

"Marcella stop… you're just saying that, you haven't sleep in days of course you can about yourself. Let's get you home. You've been doing a lot of healing today you have to get some rest." Clary said.

"I'm sorry… Fine…" I complied then Jocelyn, Clary, Valentina and I all took a taxi back home. I couldn't stay upset because of how damn adorable this baby was! When I got to the apartment, Jocelyn and Clary rushed me to my room so that I could fall asleep but I still couldn't sleep, Jon never left my mind, I sound crazy for what I'm saying but it's just the truth. I stood up and walked out to the kitchen to get some water. The moment I left my room I saw Simon sitting up on the floor with his back on the couch with different blankets and pillows around him. The TV was turned on to some old cartoon show and there were several containers of Chinese food on the coffee table.

"What are you still doing up?" He asked me

"Remember… I don't sleep." I commented while I walked over to him and sat next to him. I wrapped myself in one of the blankets. Simon then reached for one of the containers and a set of chopsticks and handed it to me and I gladly took it.
"Well you have to. You save everyone else but who's gonna save you?"
"I don't know…" I said quietly
"You and Magnus are pretty close now aren't you?"
"Yea we are… he's like my brother now."

"Your new brother is a warlock who looks like a gay Sonic the Hedgehog and dresses like the Child Catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang..."

"Remember at the party when Jace was going on and on about how he only ate brown foods?"
"Oh dear god, don't remind me you could just feel the awkward. Then Magnus was trying to convince Alec to dress up his outfit a little bit with a sequined headband. Luckily he resisted the urge, he would have looked like Olivia Newton-John in Xanadu."

"There are worse things" I said, shrugging playfully then laughed.

"Why did you order chinese food at 12:35 at night?"
"I was hungry duh."

"I can see that, there are about five containers here and three of them are already completely empty." I said while laughing.

"Do you mind if I ask you a question?"
"I don't mind at all. I also have a feeling that you'll ask me anyway."

"You know me so well…"

"No kidding."

"Why don't you use seraph blades or steles or practically anything that has to do with being a shadowhunter?"

"After everything that's happened I still don't consider myself a shadowhunter. I like being in the shadow world and all that but I don't take as much masochistic pleasure as some people do with being a shadowhunter."

"Masochistic?"

"They love to kill things. The other day I'm pretty sure Jace told me how war brought him peace. And Clary loves the burning smell that of runes when you apply them on skin."

"Damn that's creepy."
"No kidding."

We went silent for a few minutes until Simon turned to me and handed a folded piece of paper, "That Jon guy sent another one again." He said. I took in then held it tight in my hands, I stared at it for a moment as my hands went numb.

"You're probably wondering who Jon really is…" I said

"No it's alright I know who he is." Simon shrugged, "Sebastian without all the evil right?" I smiled a little and nodded in agreement. "Why is he writing to you?"
"There's a part of me that hopes it's genuinely him writing to me but it's not, I know it isn't, its just Sebastian trying to get in my head. So, how have you been?"

"I feel like I'm surrounded by darkness, I can't hide from it and there's nothing I can do about it…"

"I'm sorry that you feel that way."
"And I'm sorry that you feel that way too. One day there will be no darkness and you'll be with Jon and the two of you will be the happiest you have ever been in your lives."

"I'm starting to believe that will never happen… Caterina told me that there's always a price to pay for the things I do. Today I basically brought a bunch of infants back to life and I'm going to have to pay the consequences."

"Wait what? Brought babies back to life? When did this happen?"

"Didn't Clary and Jocelyn tell you?"

"Of course they didn't!" He said with a mouth full of food causing me to laugh, "Right well long story short someone's trying to make more children like Sebastian, these attempts were unsuccessful so the babies died then I healed them. I basically took out all the demon blood from them and well now they're alive. Also Jocelyn's keeping one of the babies and named her Valentina." I explained.

"WHAT THE FUCK?!"

"Yea I know it's pretty crazy."

"If you can get all of the demon blood out of those babies can't you try to get it out of Jon and live happily ever after?"
"I don't think things can work that way…"

"If you could have anything you wanted right now what would it be?"

"To have my old life back." I confess absent-mindedly

"Really?" He wonders.

"Well I actually don't know… I could try to go back to my old life but nothing would be the way it was. Everything's so different, things are going to keep changing…"
"How is it… T-That…" He stammers

"That what?" I ask

"That you always know what's going to happen next?" He asks. I think for a moment whether I should tell him the truth or not.

"It's complicated and a really long story…" I say looking down. I felt l his gaze, then looked up at him again.

"Mar… Please tell me."

"You can't tell anyone." I said sternly. "Seriously Simon." He looks at me sympathetically, as if he knew I was keeping this secret in for a long, long time. He nods then holds my hand in his. "Mar I'd never tell anyone. I just want to know." He smiled reassuringly as I took a deep breathe. I closed my eyes briefly before starting to explain.

"I-I'm not from here Simon..." I said quietly, he looked at me confused then raised an eyebrow. "Um... What does that mean? Are you from Canada or something?" He says with a light laugh. I laugh along with him before looking at him seriously again. "Not exactly... I'm from a different dimension." I admitted quietly. His mouth parted as his eyes widened slightly. "Wait... What?" He stuttered. "I'm from a different dimension where The Mortal Instruments is the name of a book series... My apartment is a portal in between my dimension and your dimension. The truth is, I'm not even supposed to be here." I confessed. He looked shocked then opened his mouth to say something and immediately closed it. "H-How?" He said. I bite my lip as I felt tears fill my eyes. "I don't know how... I don't know anything. I-I don't even know why I'm here" I said as my voice started to shake. He scooted closer then pulled me into his arms, hugging me tightly. "You're here because we need you... The way things happened in those books weren't how they were supposed to happen here..." He said quietly. We stayed like that for a few minutes, me crying in his arms while he comforted me. The moment I finally decided to go to bed I opened up Jon's note. All the note said was, "I'm coming after you." It wasn't Jon, that was Sebastian and I felt my entire heart sink. I started to panic and the only thing I could decide on doing was run to Magnus's apartment.
