Chapter 21
10 minutes earlier
We all finished eating dinner and Saya still hadn't come back, so we left a bowl out for her. I decided to head to the computer room to discuss Saya going out on walks all the time.
"Hello Yusuke, what brings you here?" Elias asked,
"I had some concerns about Saya," I said,
"Ah, yes Sally told me you were against her going out all the time." he said
"It doesn't seem safe," I said
"I agree, I tried to stop her... but there's no use getting through to her." Elias said. The alarm sounds.
"What now?" I asked with a sigh, but Elias jumps up and stares at the monitors with a look of fear, "Elias? what is it?" I asked
"Yusuke, transform into Shadow immediately," Elias said, and I do so without question,
"Ok, what's going on?" I asked,
"That's Saya's emergency beacon." Elias said, "There's no time to wait for the others, follow these coordinates, hurry!" without a second thought I warp out of Freedom HQ and have a look around to find out which way I need to go,
"The coordinates should be in your phone," Elias said through the head piece,
"No need," I said looking at a huge UFO (unidentified flying object), "I know where to go." I said running in that direction, the closer I got; the louder and more chaotic it became. There were people screaming and cracks in the road like there had been an earthquake. People's houses were in shambles, some roofs were collapsed. I continue running towards the UFO, I stop at the front of a hoard of Zarkon standing in front of the entrance of the UFO.
"Sonic!" I yelled looking around, some Zarkon get in my way but they were hardly a challenge, I look over to the left to see a huge crater where there might have been a park or a playground, I look up again at the UFO. At the entrance of the UFO was Spira looking over at me, two other Zarkon were beside her and... Sonic! She appeared to be unconscious being carried over one of the Zarkon's shoulder like a sack of potatoes.
"Sonic! Sonic!" I scream at her but don't get a response, I attempt to get closer but more Zarkon get in my way, "Step aside!" I said getting ready to charge a Chaos Blast,
"I wouldn't be doing that if I were you," one of the Zarkon said, I hear a boy and a girls screams as two other Zarkon hold up a young boy and girl, I stop charging my attack,
"Let them go!" I demanded, I look up and Spira and Sonic were gone,
"Did you really think you'd just run in and save the day?" one of the Zarkon said, I clench my fist trying to keep calm. My first priority is saving those kids, then saving Sonic.
"I will once you release those kids." I said, as the Zarkon all laugh,
"Fine, take 'em" one said as the Zarkon throw both kids into the huge crater, I knew I didn't have enough power to induce chaos control but I quickly run to the bottom and catch them both before they hit the ground, They started to cry again as I run them both up to the other side of the crater; I put them down and look over to see the large door on the UFO closing,
"No!" I yelled running back over to the UFO, but it was too late. The UFO began to fly off; I quickly throw a chaos spear at it but it just bounces off like it was nothing. Sonic was out of my reach and I didn't know the inside of the ship so I'm unable to warp using Chaos control.
"Shadow, can you hear me?" Elias said over my ear piece,
"Yes," I said
"We lost contact with you for a while; Are you at a safe distance?" he asked,
"Yeah. why?" I asked
"We're going to blow up the UFO, and take care of the Zarkon once and for all." He said,
"No!" I yelled as I quickly use Chaos Control to get back to Freedom HQ, " You can't do that!" I said walking up to Elias,
"Why not? if we do that then you all can go back to your lives!" Elias Argued,
"Because they took Sonic!" I yelled; everyone stops and looks at me.
"What?" I hear Tails' voice behind me. I turn around to see Tails, Blaze and Cream looking at me shocked,
"What do you mean they took her?" Blaze asked,
"When I got there it was too late; they were carrying Sonic onto the ship and I couldn't stop them..." I said
"Why not?" Tails asked,
"Because they had hostages." I explained; "they took the time it took me to save them to begin flying away... there was nothing I could do..." I said; the realization that Sonic was gone finally sank in.
"It's Okay Shadow... it's wasn't your fault..." Cream said walking up to me,
"Don't worry I still have a track on them; the ship is in our outer orbit;" One of the men said.
"Where?" Tails said as we all walk over to the monitor,
"There, that dot circling the earth," he said pointing it out to us,
"Tails, how long will it take to build a rocket?" Blaze said,
"It would take me a while but I could get one ready in about three weeks," Tails said
"Whoa, a rocket? are you crazy?" Sally said, "There's no way that would work,"
"We're not going to just stand here" Blaze said, I continued to watch the monitor. The dot that was the UFO Saya is on began to flicker than disappears.
"Where did it go?" I asked,
"I... I don't know... it was here a second ago..." he said frantically pressing buttons, "This doesn't make sense."
"What do you mean by that?" I yelled lifting him by his throat till his feet were off the ground,
"Get her back!" I said '
"Shadow!" Tails yelled,
"Shadow, put him down!" Blaze said
"It's not his fault, please Shadow..." they all pleaded; tears filled my eyes as I let the man go and he falls to the ground.
